Comfortable cabin decorated with several antiques. Great restaurant and bar in the historic lodge
Nice quiet cabin with comfy beds surrounded by stunning scenery. Restaurant on property quite good. Needs some updates but overall a great stay.
Great friendly staff. Room is extra large, clean and a great location, 35 mins from park entrance. Would definitely stay here again.
Great staff! Good food, nice dining area with a view - inside or out. Relaxing.
It was great so we came back home that way to get to stay again.
It is out of the way of town, had we known that we woukd have stayed closer to cody.its a very rustic cabin.
We were in a 2 story cabin with the bedrooms on the lower level and the kitchen and living area upstairs. There was a great view on the upper back deck. Really enjoyed it.
Location was unique. Arrived in evening , didn’t look around too much.
We enjoyed our stay hear. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the two restaurants.
Nice lil cabin about 45 min from Yellowstone with beautiful views behind our cabin.
Nice property with great views
Property has a character and charm. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed the day we stayed there, so we had to drive quite a distance to get a meal. For the price charged it was annoying to see a sign stating we would be charged $25 if we failed to wash dishes.
Very nice place. Comfortable bed. Clean. Everything plugged in. Frig with freezer. Nice restaurant attached. Friendly family run.
A hidden gem! Casual with very friendly staff and beautiful views. Attached coffee shop and restaurant. Very understanding, called and they were able to accommodate our late arrival. Consideried staying a little longer but they were booked.
Amazing
I absolutely loved this place! The owner and staff were amazing. The views were spectacular. The rooms were very clean and homey. I can not say enough about this place. We will be back
We spent three nights here while we toured Yellowstone. This lodge exceeded our expectations! The Roosevelt room was more like an apartment, it was perfect! Ample space for a family of four. The restaurant on property is great, too. Food can take a little while to be served, but the Cowboy sandwich especially is worth the wait! The owner is very friendly and welcoming. It’s a bit of a drive from Yellowstone, but it’s a pretty drive, and the room and food were more than worth it. Highly recommend!
Loved it
Very nice, spacious
Welcoming proprietors and staff.
Very comfortable accommodations. However we were told there would be baked goods available at 7am. When we left a little after 7:10 there was no sign of anyone
Room was large (3 beds) with a full kitchen. However, restaurant was closed Sunday and Mondays. This was very inconvenient since nothing else was open this time of year in the area. We would have had to drive back to Cody (over 30 miles) for food.
Wonderful lodge in a beautiful location!
We loved Wapiti Lodge! We stayed in the Langford Suite and it was perfect - clean, roomy, comfortable, with all the amenities and then some (breakfast basket in the fridge, plenty of coffee and tea). The owners were suberb - friendly, personable, and helpful. The restaurant was also wonderful - we had two great dinners there - delicions food and excellent service. The location is beautiful and we hope to be back at Wapiti lodge again some day.
The suite was very spacious with a nice kitchen. The restaurant was great with a local atmosphere. It was further away from Yellowstone than I had hoped.
Very friendly and relaxing experience in a historic building. Good dining with outside seating and a full bar,
Stayed in Roosevelt. Shower curtains were mildew/moldy and gave much of the unit that mildewed smell; generally felt not as clean as all other stays on our roadtrip. We wish we would have instead stayed at another property or further back in Cody.
Hidden gem of a hotel on the way to Yellowstone.
Beth was great! She was very accommodating of our travel schedule and made arrangements for our check in even though it was after the specified time frame. She made sure that we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
Room was spotless and big. Everything we needed. Breakfast basket was a wonderful touch and time saver in the morning. The restaurant was wonderful. Music on Friday was great. Hosts were super friendly. Loved being able to walk down to the river and fish. Plenty of open grassy area to walk around and tables set around to picnic or just chill outside.
Very clean cabin rented by very nice people. The cabin only had 1 air conditioner and the bedrooms got very warm at night. The beds were ok but not incredibly comfortable. Clean up was very easy before leaving
Dirty... Just not clean.
When we arrived, the power had been out for a few hours already. The staff heated the grill so we could still eat dinner and took wonderful care of us. It was a fun adventure!
Great place to stay!! Skip the chain hotels and support local. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place!!
The owner greeted us as we checked in. Offered to help with our bags. The Roosevelt Room was AWESOME. 3 queen beds, full kitchen with table, seating areas. We ate at the restaurant, food was great along with the service. They stocked the refrigerator with breakfast items for us. Highly recommend this property. Also, the view behind the lodge was beautiful.
Nice setting with great views. Family owned establishment were all the family chips in to run the place. A nice change of scenery from corporate America. Check it out if you’re headed to Yellowstone. One of the closest lodges to the eastern entrance.
It was a beautiful stay but I do have a question why was I charge extra above the other charges
Everything was good
We love staying here!
A little pricey. Room was very nice, restaurant excellent and service outstanding.
Travel to Yellowstone
It was not what the written description was, I had many questions which I personally called the lodge, and a young man answered very incorrectly. It was not luxury , the Mountain View was blocked by a travel trailer 25 ft. From the bedroom window. The cabin was next to a major highway.I was told the restaurant was open, when we got there the owner who was very nice, said it was not.He also was kind enough to come speak to us about these problems. The cabin is comfortable for a passing thru one night stay to Yellowstone park. I would recommend it for a family traveling thru. It has a full kitchen and capibilitys to cook.
So unique! Large room with kitchen, bar/restaurant on site. Beautiful view.
It is a nice place, but if your room is in lower level very noisy. Old lodge that appears to have been renovated. If you are getting 6am start with others, no issue. However, you plan to rest not going to happen.
Family-owned, quiet place to retreat
This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds, take a lazy day after your Yellowstone trip or just relax and unwind. There are also many adventures around the area to take advantage of. This a family owned business and the service couldn't be better. Dakota made a bonfire and we enjoyed talking with him and other staffers. If you like to be away from it all, this is the place!
Large room with 3 queen beds.
Wonderful place to stay. Everyone was very friendly. Great food in the restaurant. The room was clean and spacious.
Outstanding really jn every way! We stayed in the Grant room which was gorgeous. Restaurant and bar on property with darts and pool table. Rockers on the front porch. Would definitely return for a longer stay
This is a smaller lodge but super friendly and accommodating. Very clean room and had a great bar/grill.
Amazing host and bar
Amazing host and bar, room had more than expected items. We will surely go back some day.
Beautiful old lodge. We loved it. The area was lovely. We appreciated the breakfast basket. Only problem was we considered staying a 2nd night but no one was available the following morning to see if that would be okay.
Location worked out well after a long day of touring Yellowstone park. Our cabin was located very close to highway and we heard the traffic all night. However other cabins are further back. There is limited food options in area - come prepared. The cabin was tidy and clean in general but the edges of floors and baseboards were not clean. Beds had poor quality mattress and frames that wiggle with every move. Its a rustic cottage with charm located in outback.
Beautiful location. Great staff.
Great stay
Great place to stay. Beautiful view and friendly staff.
Beautiful property
The restaurant ran out of food. Ad to go to Cody for dinner.
They wanted us to stay in a basement that was unsafe for my breathing condition and my wife's anxiety
Wonderful place to stay!
A little disappointed
Stayed in the Roosevelt suite. Nice and roomy. Needs new mattresses and there was a lot of noise from the people staying above us all night long. Didn’t sleep too well.
Excellent
Fabulous place to stay. Incredibly clean and wonderfully furnished. So nice to have the kitchenette. Very much like staying in a lovely home instead of a hotel.
We stayed at Wapiti Lodge for 5 nights en route to Yellowstone. This was an excellent affordable option near the East Entrance (about 25 min to the entrance). We appreciated having a kitchenette (two burners, microwave, fridge, and table for 6) so we were able to cook meals and prepare picnics for the park. Having 3 queen beds in one suite for a family of 6 was great. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The entire area is beautiful. They provide bagels, oatmeal, granola bars, juice and yogurt for breakfast. (We did purchase eggs and bacon to add protein to breakfast). I would definitely recommend it for those visiting Yellowstone. We came in from Kansas City and this was the best route for us and much more affordable than lodging in the park - PLUS we had a kitchen to make meals which is a HUGE help (both healthy eating and cost-saving for a big trip for a family). TIP: We ordered groceries online from the Cody Walmart using their curbside pickup and grabbed our groceries easily on the way to Wapiti - this worked great so food was fresh to stock the fridge and our vehicle wasn't as cramped with the food as we traveled to Yellowstone).
Will stay again next time we visit
Nice place, but....
Great room, great location, amazing views. Friendly staff. Breakfast was so-so, bed was not great, cleaning was a little lacking and the walls were pretty thin.
The property was as advertised, The views were beautiful. There was dining within walking distance . Unfortunately, the menu was limited. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Overall a VERY pleasant experience.
We were there for just one night, wished we had more. Room was a pleasant surprise.. clean and beautiful decor. Had a separate dining and kitchenette area. Way more than an average lodge room.
I loved the serene setting nestled among the mountains and river. Every morning we would sit on the veranda with our coffee. The lodge is owned and operated by a fun family! The rooms are large with a rustic setting but with every convenience. So thankful to have the dining on the premises since the nearest city, Cody Wyoming, is about 20minutes away and in the opposite direction is entrance to the East entrance of Yellowstone Park. In the back of the lodge is the view of the river with horseshoes, picnic area and fire pit. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!!!
Owners were outstanding .. it’s a family affair. Food in dining room is limited menu but everything was delicious !! Every room is different so you can choose what fits your need.
This quaint little oasis was an excellent stay. Quiet, beautiful landscape, and friendly owners.
Overall, we enjoyed the lodge. The only thing that stuck out was the dirty shower curtain.
The only thing would be to change the online description. It said there was a personal beach and game room. I would just update the site, as I planned that stay for the kids. Otherwise the rest was fantastic. Loved the room.
It’s very rustic . We had a kitchenette. The signage looks updated.
Close to Yellowstone
The room and lodge were cute and convenient to go to Yellowstone. Parking was available right outside our room. The bed was comfortable. The room was large and had a decent kitchen with pots, pans, and dishes. There was a cooler available to use. Try not to shower later at night, as the shower might be cold. There were plenty of towels. The lodge was by the river, had a restaurant, and had a campfire area. The owners were helpful. The front desk is not staffed consistently, but you could call the owners at any time for assistance.
I like the views of the canyons along the drive from Yellowstone though it's far a drive. The backyard and views are amazing. The shower bath tub drainage is clogged that when you use the shower water acccumulate to the tub which kinda messy and unsanitary.over all stay is perfect. Kids enjoyed each of their own queen size bed.Small kitchen is prfect since we were able to cook our own food to bring as picnic as we go to places around Cody.I would love to stayhere again.
Great place to stay with two high school boys. Very clean and inviting location. Fresnel staff and great bar and grill onsite.
Too expensive
This was a unique place to stay. Very quite, clean and our room was spacious. The staff was very friendly in the restaurant. The menu was a little limited. But the pizza we got was wonderful. Outside seating was nice and we had a nice view.
Great, clean place to stay near Yellowstone
Really great staff and owners. Very cool room with log and wood interior. Beautiful view from bar.
Neat location but highway noise
We only slept here while going from Yellowstone to Jackson, so we didn't get a chance to check out the property. We didn't know we would be feet from the highway and didn't love hearing loud vehicles barreling through well past 2 am. The Colter suite was clean and had rustic charm. Checkin was easy, even though we arrived late in the day.
This property is a must! Such a gem. A restored lodging, cabin like accommodations with heated baseboards, A/C, continental breakfast in your refrigerator and satellite TV among others. Property dates back more than 100 years, first lodging for Yellowstone years ago. Read the history and take the experience, you will not be sorry.
Dinner meals were delicious.
The room was large and clean, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was fantastic. It is 30 miles closer to Yellowstone than Cody which is really nice. The on-site restaurant is awesome as well!
The staff were welcoming and helpful upon our arrival. There was a thoughtful gift basket in the refrigerator when we got there, which included bagels, OJ, apples, and instant oatmeal. The unit we stayed in (Colter Suite) was so cute and clean. It was comfortable and perfectly accommodated our group of three during our stay. It would be perfect for up to 8 people. The proximity to Yellowstone and Cody was perfect. The restaurant onsite was very good for the one meal we went for. I would definitely recommend this location, and hope to stay again in the future.
The property is beautiful. There is a restaurant/bar and a cute store that sells local art. The layout allows for privacy although others are staying. The owners were so friendly and thoughtful. Upon arrival there was a breakfast basket with bagels and apples along with orange juice and coffee in the room. We had seven adults and two littles and were perfectly comfortable. I would definitely go back and recommend for families.
Friendly staff, great room for a family of 5
There is no beach front anything like the Expedia description said. There is a rapid flowing river that the property over looks from a hill but I would not recommend checking it out. It did not look to be easily accessible. It says free breakfast but that too is not true. We stayed 4 nights and for the whole time we were there we had 4 bagels, two apples and a granola bar for our free breakfast that was in the refrigerator when we arrived. Their website says you can get a picnic lunch to take to yellow stone from their deli but it was only open the first day we were there. The restaurant is open and had great service and a decent selection. There were 4 of us and we had 4 towels and 4 wash clothes that apparently we were supposed to reuse during our entire stay, although, there was nothing in our room telling us that (yes, apparently you are supposed to reuse your wash cloth). We asked for more and we’re given them after we were told they were trying to conserve water. The room was nice size and looked good but the first night we all noticed the bottoms of our feet and socks were black from the dirty floors. The beds seemed comfortable until you go to sleep on them and you and the second person tend to meet in the middle and can’t seem to stay out of the center which makes for an uncomfortable night. We took our own trash to the dumpster each day because we didn’t know what else to do with it since there was zero information given at check in and none in the room.
We really enjoyed our stay. We usually stay at big chain hotels (Hampton Inn, Springhill Suites, etc.) - they have nothing on this place. The room was clean and spacious (we made dinner in the kitchenette), the service was fantastic (they handled our after-hours check-in with ease), they got the little things right (fresh squeezed oj - like real fresh squeezed). They are located 20 miles from the Yellowstone East Entrance. In the late afternoon as we finished our day and headed for the hotel, the park was empty as most people stay to the west. We saw Buffalo, deer and fox as we drove and had them all to ourselves. We were able to stop and take close-up pictures without leaving car. The day was capped by great lodging. We highly recommend the Wipiti Lodge and would rather stay there than anywhere else in the Yellowstone/Cody WY area.
Questioning great reviews
Kitchen sink faucet non functional... awaiting plumber, ceiling fan non functional and had issue of poor air flow and rather warm but when discussed with owner, window ac offered. Note that you're on your own for any room cleaning/ garbage... Historic furniture was not comfortable, and kitchen utensils/ware subpar and breakfast bowls missing.
Great place to stay near Yellowstone
We had a wonderful stay! Amazing hosts and very comfortable room. Beautiful scenery and close to Yellowstone. Fun onsite dining and bar. Terrific place. Can’t go wrong!
Gifted Hospitality
When I arrived I found out Yellowstone Park was closed. I was so disappointed. But Kenyon, Beth and Dakota made me welcome and treated me like family. It was so good I booked another night and explored Cody and the surrounding area. These people have the gift of hospitality and I loved my stay with them in the beautiful surroundings. I have already booked my return for when the Park is open.
pleasant ,large, comfortable rooms. new owners going over the top to please
Enjoyable
Different than what we are used to, and thoroughly enjoyable. Clean, comfortable & friendly.
Our suite was perfect, very spacious and nicely furnished. The people were very nice and helpful Definitely a must stay before heading into Yellowstone.
Very clean, full size fridg very roomy rooms with rustic charm. Only drawback is the location which is on the highway. Not for light sleepers
Property sits in a Beautiful setting in the mountains, cabin has all your needs. Site is starting to get run down and needs some repair. This was our second year staying at this facility, and could see the difference from last year. We found out the owner had sold the property and was getting ready in a couple a weeks to hand it over to the new owners. Had a lot of potential and is in a Great location between Cody and the East entrance to Yellowstone. Might stay again if the rates stay competitive.
wapiti Lodge was by far the best hotel that we have stayed in on our two week tour of Wyoming. Did not want to leave.
Great location
Great location and great stay. The only complaint was the alarm chirping through out the night. It is a great place to stay and friendly owner! Very easy access to Yellowstone
Late arrival
We were only here overnight and got in late. But the views are beautiful.
like room decore, clean, good bar
Amazing hospitality and amazing view and a amazing restaurant on site! Would definitely recommend staying in the lodge.
Just Passing Through
Loved the amenities! Super cool bar and restaurant. Outdoor space was great with an outdoor firepit, corn hole and horse shoes. Accommodations were comfy and spacious. Loved our stay!
The wapiti lodge was a charming little cabin with some WiFi, tv, and a kitchenette. The cabin would have been considered dirty under normal circumstances (and there was a clear bug problem), but it was clear, during a pandemic that zero measures were taken to minimize disease risk. No one wore a mask, there were cobwebs to suggest nothing had been cleaned, and someone entered our cabin unannounced (and left breakfast) after we had checked in.
The room I stayed in was absolutely adorable. It had a quilt on the bed, beautiful furnishings that were unique and stylish. The room had a small kitchen with a wonderful fridge and a big microwave, two burner stove along with dishes to cook with. The bathroom was large and well appointed. I also was allowed access to an outer living room area complete with fireplace. I felt so at home in the cozy, wonderful place. I ate in the attached restaurant and the food was okay and fairly priced. I would stay here again anytime. I stayed in 7 different places on my trip, and this was by far my favorite lodging. You will love it!
