Highly recommended!!
Location was in a good location to walk to many of the mid town areas we wanted to see. Spacious room and lovely lobby. Very noisy into the night though.
This is a beautiful historic hotel! The staff was helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
The hotel is in a great location in Midtown and the room was very clean. Our first night we didn’t have heat in our room and once we told the front desk they were very apologetic and changed our room immediately.
Small boutique hotel in a good location. Staff was very friendly.
This property was perfect for our family! They upgraded our room with an amazing view of the Empire State Building. Location was amazing. Recommend opening coffee bar area, would definitely get used!
Cannot check in until 4pm and out by 11am.
We liked the quiet, safe street it was on. The parking ended up easy & accessible. The staff could have been more helpful with questions regarding parking in advance.
The staff at The Gregorian were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. 10/10!
The hotel was very nice and the location was centrally located. The staff was very nice. I would definitely stay here again
Great location!
Great location. The room could have been cleaner, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
Exactly what we were looking for. Location was great. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly
Great location. Staff very friendly. Nice rooms. Clean and comfy. Not a lot of facilities. But nice coffee shops and bars close by. Check in at 4 is too late. But, the rooms are available for a $75 up charge. Don’t like that. If the rooms are open, just let the guests have them. Typical money grab. That and the $40 ‘resort’ fee. Road outside is noisy and constantly backed up with traffic. Get a room away from the street if you want to sleep. Would we stay again, possibly. But not on the street side.
Property has been recently updated rooms nice and tidy button coffee making facilities in room. There is an unused area in the lobby which looks like it was at one time a bar, this are could have been utilised as a coffee area. Going to the restaurant/bar you have to leave the lobby and go outside. order 4 coffee and had to go next door to purchase 4 half empty cups. Some reception staff not very pleasant.
Cute boutique hotel
The room was small but clean. The staff are all really friendly. Nowhere in the hotel for coffee in the morning but they did supply a kettle and there was a fridge.
Even though it was an old building it has been very nicely renovated. The rooms are cozy and clean. We had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building! The only negative is that there are no coffee machines in the rooms. For a coffee you have to walk to the end of the street to Dunkin or Starbucks. I would not recommend getting a coffee from the restaurant next door, too pricey for a thimble amount of coffee. Overall we had a great stay, the Gregorian is very conveniently located to major tourist areas.
Perfect location!! 3min walk to the subway if needed and Macys and more shopping stores around the corner!
Great stay - very convenient location
My three friends and I traveled to NYC for the purpose of visiting the Morgan Library. We chose to stay at The Gregorian based on its proximity to the museum, Penn Station, and the hotel's reasonable rates. The hotel was wonderful in every aspect, and we were so pleased that it was within walking distance to Macy's, Bryant Park, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center. We will definitely stay at The Gregorian again.
Great location. Nice hotel.
Nice hotel. Close to Madison square garden and the train station. There was an issue with the elevator that necessitated a room change but the manager personally called the room and made it right. The room was comfortable and spacious for NYC. I would highly recommend this place!!
Rooms are extremely tired and worn, unlike the photos you see online, advertising the property. The furniture was battered, other than the bed you have one office chair and no net curtains for privacy. If you want any natural light into your room, everyone in the surrounding buildings can very easily see in. The shower had to be run for 10 minutes before it heated up. Zero coffee making facilities, no water and the bar in the lobby you see in the photos was closed the entire 6 days I was there and didn’t look like it was opening any time soon. If you want water or coffee, you need to leave the hotel and find the stores around the corner. The only highlight here was the attentive, friendly staff.
Staff are nice
Lovely building, friendly staff, clean room, very comfortable beds.
Staff was extremely courteous and helpful.
Friendly staff
The staff was very friendly - I like them a lot.
This location is perfect! Walkable to everything MidTown. The deco is fantastic and full of history…… fully, properly historically renovated! If you don’t like staying here…. not sure we could be friends!
Excelent
Wonderful location near the Empire State
Location!
Would definitely stay here again. Room was small or I’d have given it 5 stars. That’s the only thing that was less than ideal.
Hot water not working mostly. Room heat could not be adjusted.
Great hotel
Very nice hotel, great room and bathroom, very comfortable bed, hotel staff very kind, excellent location
The restaurant next door called Gaia was amazing!!
We really liked the hotel. The staff was very nice. The room was spacious, shower worked well as did the a/c. The bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel was very clean. The only things we didn't like was that there was no coffee provided. Not in the room and not in the lobby. So we had to walk a block or so for the morning coffee. Also the windows in the room need too be more sound proofed. We faced 35th street and it was very noisy.
Excellent location
Gregorian Hotel was in an excellent location. Convenient to many different attractions. The hotel is older and not modern. The bathroom could use some updated renovations. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating to any needs we had.
Great location.
Clean and secure but not luxurious
The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was not as small as most NYC hotel rooms and was comfortable except that most of the lamps had shrill, fluorescent bulbs that were so unpleasant we couldn't use them. Bathroom was clean but the lighting was dim and the walls and fixtures were a little scuffed and tired. There was no in-room coffee or tea and none available in the lobby, which was inconvenient.
I ❤️ NYC
great location and updated room/bath
Great hotel, terrific staff!
It is in a very convenient location although it is noisy right next to 34th Herald Sq station. The staff were also polite and helpful. The hotel room though was a little small and run down. But it is good if you are just using the room to sleep and spend all day outside.
We were greeted by the kindest New Yorkers at Check in and we were able to check into our room a little early which was a nice surprise. Rooms are much larger then most and its such a beautiful space at a reasonable price and so close to basically everything we were looking to do.
Loved the hotel! Great location and super friendly staff but I wish they had coffee makers in the room. We had to get up every morning and walk to the corner to get our coffee.
Great place and good location for theatre
not recommend
The room is very small and dirty.. I got at least bug bite on my legs...
Great
Great stay in NYC
Excellent location. Great lobby. Could use a little more space in the room but wasn’t that bad.
-Incredible staff that were extremely helpful when we needed anything. -The gregorian is located in the perfect space to enjoy a new york vacation as well. Very walkable, easily getting to Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square and more within 10-15 minutes. -Great shopping (Macys especially) and food options nearby. -Our room was exceptionally comfortable
Very clean. Friendly staff. Bed very comfortable. No coffee in rooms or on the property. We needed to get something printed ( just one page) and there was no printer available. We were told to email the document to the manager (which we did twice) but it was never printed and we had to look for somewhere else to print. Otherwise a great stay.
It is clean and convenient but a bit dated. Elevator was small and slow. Generally a nice hotel but a little sprucing up would be helpful.
Great hotel in a very central location. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would to have a few amenities in the room such as a coffee maker.
Great location in an older hotel
Excellent location next to Herald Square, with easy access to public transportation. Comfortable, clean room and bed in an older hotel. I would have liked to have a coffee maker in the room.
Wonderful staff, clean and I will book in the future!
The room for a double is a little small. The shower curtain support was falling apart. But the hotel is very convenient to midtown and is a nice hotel.
At a similar price point, stay elsewhere. The rooms are tiny, the noise is through the night, and the backup to move into a room, even at 3:00 PM, is fairly lengthy. I really love the lobby, the rest falls short. Net, go somewhere else.
Very small room, small bathrooms, not recommend at all.
Won’t come back
Very dated facilities- old windows, old radiators, old carpets, small bathroom, very hard to control AC system which forced me to get up multiple times in the middle of the night to reset. Lamps were all dim and crookedly tilted which made the place so run down. The hotel restaurant looks beautiful from the outside but we didn’t try. The staff were overall pleasant.
Great location, comfortable room, friendly staff.
Another nice stay
This was our second time staying at The Gregorian. The hotel is an easy walk to the train station, and attractions. We were able to check in early, which was nice. Everyone we encountered was friendly. This is our go to hotel when in the city.
The front desk staff were very helpful. I wasn’t impressed with the comfort of the king bed
Great hotel wonderful bathroom friendly staff. Close to activities
Such a great comfortable place to stay, in very central location. Friendly staff and very clean room. Will definitely stay here again.
great location, boutique hotel, friendly staff, quiet room
Loved it
Our stay was excellent , unfortunately our view was very poor, but the cleanliness of our room and bath made it worthwhile. The location is also excellent.
My stay at The Gregorian was truly exceptional, thanks to the outstanding staff who went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. The hotel’s location is ideal, with many popular tourist attractions, restaurants, and shops all within walking distance. It's the perfect base for exploring the city, offering both convenience and comfort. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!
The staff at the hotel is absolutely wonderful
Great choice near the Empire State
Lovely room with view of the Empire State Building. Excellent location and helpful staff. Hotel very well maintained with beautiful art deco features. Would highly recommend.
The service at the hotel was great until the very last day, when I was hassled about late checkout. There was no bottle of wine. The last night of my stay was double the rate of the nights before.
Very pleased with our experience at the Gregorian- clean, comfortable room and excellent staff. We’d absolutely stay here again!
Very closed to Macys and time square. The from can be more clean.
The elevator rarely worked. Thankfully I was only on the third floor
Didn't get the free bottle of wine as advertised but everything else about the stay was wonderful
What a lovely place with really helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed and a good size ……. for NY and miles bigger than the Moxy…!
Overall really fantastic stay at this hotel, stay for a week in mid October. I can't deny that I did have some initial concerns after booking and reading of potential bedbugs but didn't see any or have any issues so these comments can be ignored. Fantastic location for transport links or walking in the local area to things like Macey's, MSG or Empire State building. Would certainly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.
It was a great location and staff was great
The worst hotel
the worst hotel i've stayed in since im a member of Hotels.com
The hotel was perfectly fine, but the pictures were a little misleading. Room was comfortable but basic. The staff were courteous but not exactly the height of hospitality service. The hotel has a restaurant which is oddly hidden behind a door from the lobby. The reception staff didn't tell us anything about this. No-one took our bags to the room either. Altogether a bit basic, but not too bad.
Super fun
The Z hotel is an amazing hotel. The Z hotel in Victoria was perfect for a family to stay between the indoor swimming pool the hot tub the sauna the games room and just the overall vibe made our stay super fun.
The Gregorian was ideally suited for our trip to New York putting us right in the heart of the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and complimentary bottled water was much appreciated. I would definitely look to stay there again.
Great location in NYC, walkable to many things. Staff were very kind and helpful! We would definitely go back!
This a wonderful hotel in the Garment District. Lots of history and charm. The staff were courteous and prompt.
Great location, friendly professional staff, clean and quiet room.
Easy check in polite helpful staff
From a former New Yorker, this is a hidden gem!
I'm unclear why there's issues with reviews to this hotel. It's a small, boutique hotel - new-ish so there are still kinks to be worked out, but it's lovely! The staff were responsive (love Edgar!) and so were the people at the front desk. The restaurant had not opened yet when I was there for 5 nights, but honestly you're in the middle of K-town with SO MANY food options right outside your door - literally within a block walk of the hotel. As a former New Yorker who has seen this area transform, the location cannot be beat! My room was clean; no view really but I didn't care as I was there for partially business/pleasure and had my husband and 8yo with me. I had the Superior King so the 8yo camped out on the pullout sofa. You can definitely hear people talking in the next room but it's wasn't so disruptive. I mostly used the stairs as I was on the 3rd floor and often the elevators were not programmed to to be opposite of each other (one waiting onthe higher floors and another closer to the lower floors) hence it can get a bit frustrating waiting for one. Overall, a nice hidden gem. If you love original architectural details, this place is for you! I'd stay here again.
Great location
Great boutique hotel with above average sized rooms.
Both me and my daughter was bitten badly by bedbugs
The customer service from the manager, Karen, was above and beyond. She is a treasure. The desk clerk, Milady, was also excellent. The staff overall were friendly and responsive. Good job!
Per hotels.com I was expecting early check in and a bottle of wine as a perk, the hotel did help with early check in but no bottle of wine.
great service on check-in, very friendly. bed and pillow very comfy! room was very clean and they helped us with iphone chargers because we forgot ours. overall, great hotel.
Such a beautiful quiet place to stay! I love the decor and the bed was super comfortable. Enjoying a walk down fifth avenue tomorrow to visit the Met. I KNOW I’ll find good coffee on the way!
Staff was amazing. Super friendly.
It’s a lovely boutique style hotel with character ,comfort and a lovely, helpful and friendly team of people working there
Excellent location and staff were very friendly. Room was lovely - just right for our 5-night stay in NYC!
No hot water and no bottle of wine as promised by Expedia
The Gregorian Hotel on 35th (off 6th Ave) is centrally located to see Broadway plays, shop Macy's and many other stores. There are so many restaurants, everything is walkable. The hotel has a lovely old-world charm reminding me happily of NY in earlier times. Comfortable beds, refrigerator, separate walk-in closet. I would definitely recommend!
I did not receive the VIP bottle of wine that was stated in the booking even I asked for it. Also we asked for the room upgrade but we did not receive neither. Overpriced rooms
