Love the homely and cozy style of the guestroom and the family setting of the in room facilities. Enjoy the breakfast and apa facilities partnered with the hotel. I will indeed recommend others and return when I visit again.

Highly recommended family-friendly room

It was a pleasant stay; cleverly designed room to give a blend of English and Japanese styles with ample of space to roam for family of 4. Although location is further away from the tourist attractions, the hotel’s room was beautiful and very well-kept. Staffs were kind and genuinely welcoming (even hand-written welcome and goodbye cards!). My 2 young sons asked why did we only stay for 1 night when we were checking out.

The location is walkable to site seeing and the service is amazing. All their staff are helpful and friendly. Thank you!

The room was very large, comfortable and clean, with two king size beds and sitting, cooking area. Friendly staff. Breakfast was included in restaurant downstairs but there weren't many options. About a ten minute easy walk to all the sites and train station.

An Amazing and Relaxing Stay in Kyoto

Our family of 3 stayed in a total of 5 different accommodations during our trip to Japan. This hotel was our unanimous favorite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great for our needs (We wanted to be near the bamboo forest and the quiet area of Kyoto). The included breakfast is in a cafe that is below the rooms. This cafe had great food and drinks and also very friendly staff. The room was very large and spacious. It had 3 separate areas for toilet, shower/wet room, and sink / mirror. Our view of the mountains and local area was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is staying in Kyoto.

Great location for Arashiyama sightseeing, with a nearby bus station that can be used for connecting (no transfer needed) to Kyoto station or Kiuomizu-dela. Room is spacious and clean, toilet and shower/bathroom are very comfortable. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: design for the beds is suboptimal- the wooden base/legs are short (so the bed is too low for me) and the corners are protruding (easy to kick them when you walk around and it is very painful if you kick). Another minor thing is the accessibility to the breakfast restaurant in downstairs -it would be nicer if it can be accessed from inside the building or through a covered entrance especially in rainy weather.

Spacious and clean room with two beds and mini kitchen area. Less than 10 minute walk from the Arashiyama train station and about 25 minute walk to bamboo forest. Property also has bikes available so we rode bikes to the train station by the bamboo forest and walked over. Breakfast was included and decent. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Need to hop on a train to get in order to get to Nishiki market and Pontocho area.

Nice little hotel close to tourist area

Location was ideal, close to shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator available. The rooms are small and storage is limited. Also, not many power outlets to charge phones. Breakfast was included and it was fantastic. By far the best breakfasts we had during our vacations. Getting taxis and Uber was cumbersome. Overall it was a good experience. I would recommend it.

Great hotel. Loved our stay there!

The hotel provides such a great service from the day we check-in until the day we check-out. We loved the personal touch that the staffs showed throughout our stay. This is a great hotel to stay when you want to rest. The rooftop is a great addition as you can see the stars when the sky is clear. It's also a perfect base if you want to explore Arashiyama area early in the morning.

We loved it! What a great hotel - staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in the restaurant downstairs was excellent, loved the gourmet waffles! And the room .. wow. It was very spacious and the layout and decor were beautifully minimalist. Also had sliding glass doors that opened onto a balcony. We also enjoyed the rooftop patio with couches, tent and great views. Very convenient to walk to from station and as easy walk to bridge/river. I would gladly stay here again … absolutely loved it!!

Quiet and spacious room, the only thing that bother me was there was no elevator in the hotel. So we had to walk 3 floors to our room, as far as baggages, no worry, the friendly staff will help. Will choose to return.

This was our favorite hotel in 10 days around Japan. The room is spacious, super clean, modern and very comfortable. We loved being able to walk to the wonderful Arashiyama sites when the day tourists left. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed free access to cold water bottles and coffee/tea and a delicious multi choice western style breakfast. The rooftop deck was enjoyable too. The beds are super comfortable. This is a great option to be close to nature and away from busy Kyoto downtown.

I really like the boutique, upmarket, relaxing and comfortable environment of the entire property. I feel so relaxed every day when I am here, away from all the crowds.

Really enjoyed our family room, small hotel but nothing short of a major hotel. Bathroom was better than big hotels, only lacked elevators that was not a issue for us.

This was a great location with outstanding staff. The room was huge and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants, shops and attractions all within walking distance. The breakfast was plentiful and very delicious.

Walking distance to tourist areas, and amazingly spacious compared to similar properties for family of 4. Beds were comfortable.

This hotel made us feel at home, with kind staffs that made us comfortable. The rooms were spotless and very clean, sanity was not a problem. The rooms were very comfortable and has great service. The hotel breakfast and lunch were diverse and delicious, this hotel is really worth the stay.

Property is well maintained, toilet is clean . Only shortfall is that there no lift and I have 3 big luggage. Breakfast is standard , would have gone out to search if not for the freezing weather . Free Parking right in front of property is a plus

Beautiful elegant oasis near Arashiyama

It was a fantastic place to stay in! Only feedback we have is that because there were 3 of us, it would have been good for the staff to provide 3 sets of utensils, plates, cups, etc. as opposed to just 2. Other than this detail, the place was spotless, quiet, and spacious, and the service was friendly and discreet.

The facility is wonderful. We would have liked power outlets near the bedding for alarm ⏰️ charging on our mobile devices. The property is clean, nicely articulated & designed, great walking location to area destinations & transportation. The staff are very nice & welcoming.

This property is amazing such a beautiful room and atmosphere and the beds are so comfortable. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. This hotel is in such a great location to explore Arashiyama and escape the hustle and bustle. If you are visiting Japan and are traveling in family groups or even as a couple I highly recommend staying here as it’s also such great value for money. I would definitely not hesitate to recommend or to stay again!

Only the property don’t have lift. Food is good n room is big enough for 4 adults. Great location. Near to train station n famous tourist attraction all in walking distance.

Arriving at the GrandWest after a long day of sightseeing and travel was really nice. The GrandWest is nestled in the area near the bamboo forest, bridge and monkey forest. A possible negative is that it is a train ride to any of the other popular shrines and temples. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They offered us a different, more accessible room after it was known that we had a member of our party in a wheelchair. No ramp or elevator in this boutique hotel but just a few stairs to deal with to get to the lobby and room. There is a great place to get a yummy (cheese)burger, delicious fish and chips and a drink right below the the lobby. But that is a separate good experience! The room was large and nicely accommodated. The beds are low but very comfortable. We could here some street noise but generally quiet in the room. Definitely a place we would return to in the Kyoto area.

家族4人で2泊しました。 京阪、嵐電、JRと、3つの駅からのアクセスが可能で、渡月橋からも近く、嵐山周辺を観光するには最適なホテルです。 1番のお気に入りは、1階カフェでの朝食です。手頃な価格で素敵なモーニングをいただきました。 改善点を挙げるとすれば、ベッドの木製の土台がマットレスより大きいので、歩く時に何回か足をぶつけて痛かったです。 また、エレベーターがないので、高齢の母にとっては上り下りが大変でした。 ただ、スタッフの方がどなたも丁寧に対応してくださり、とても気持ちよく過ごせました。 また、機会がある時には、ぜひ利用させていただきます。

階段しかなかったですが、荷物を運び入れてくれたので、そこまで大変ではなかったです。 また、ドリンクも水と紅茶、コーヒーは飲み放題で、部屋も清潔でした。 ただ、部屋は少し暗かったです。

スタッフの皆さんの素晴らしいホスピタリティーのお陰で素敵な滞在となりました。一流ホテルや老舗旅館のような立派な施設や温泉はありませんが、とても清潔で管理の行き届いたホテルでした。小さな子供に対してもとてもお気遣いいただき、子供も終始楽しそうにしていたのでこのホテルを選んで良かったです。 無料のお水を何本もいただいてしまいましたが、とても有り難いサービスでした。 嵐山に宿泊と聞くと高級なイメージがありますが、リーズナブルに楽しむことができ、心理的な距離がぐっと縮まりました。朝一の嵐山は人も少なく大変気持ち良いので、宿泊されることをオススメします。

エレベーターはありませんでしたが、フロントのスタッフの方が、持って３階まで上がってくれました。部屋もフロントもとても清潔で、屋上のテントのスペースがとても素敵でした。もともとマンションだったとのことで、広々した室内がとても良かったです。お水も無料で助かりました。
