Staffs are friendly and helpful and the hotel build is grand lavish. Point to the management, I stayed in 11th storey. there are birds nested on the ceiling around lift compound, and strong stench of pigeon manure detected. Despite I am there just for minutes waiting for lift to come, but this really turn me off. Mall beside hotel are under renovation and most shops are closed. I saw local family coming out from building with chips and grocery but I can't find supermarket inside. This made the hotel dull as I do not have much place to go (gym also under renovation)

Room is big but old. Toilet needs renovation as it look old, dirty and mold were everywhere. However, the plus point was the Front Desk staff. They were friendly and helpful, especially Hanis and her team who’s worked on 21/10/24 evening.

Overall condition is acceptable except cleanliness. The breakfast is nice.

Needs some care and attention!

The hotel is definitely looking tired. The swimming pool is uncared for, cold and unfriendly and inhabited by pigeons. The in-house restaurant (Chinese) is diabolical…where the service was appalling, the food bland and ones conversation was drowned out by the wailing karaoke next door. The air-conditioning couldn’t be altered in the room so it was constantly cold and whilst well furnished it needs redecorating. The breakfast however was varied and pleasant. No decaffeinated drinks available and NO alcohol on sale in the hotel at all.

A glimpse into the past

This is an old-fashioned grand hotel which unfortunately has been allowed to go into a decline. The decorative condition is appalling in places, eg paper peeling off one wall in our room and water leak damage in the corridor ceiling. If this kind of thing was repaired immediately, the hotel could be so much better. Breakfast had a huge variety of food, although not all was good quality. Car parking when we arrived was chaotic as there was a truck blocking direct access to the car park. Nevertheless it was all tolerable for the cheap rate we paid.

Stayed here for 2 nights and I thought it was great - large hotel, well furnished, good gym & pool and close to everything in Kota Bharu.

Overall, the hotel is comfortable and newly refurbished. Reasonable price for a 5 stars hotel standard. Good choice of breakfast selection too.

Renovations needed for this beautiful hotel. Remove old smelly carpet, painting hallways and needs new mattress. Need glass cleaning from outside. Other than that it is a beautiful place to stay.

normal room is ok. quarantine room has lots of ants which come when they smell food on table.

Room service - prompt & great tasting food

Gd location just next to a shopping mall. The room service serves great tasting lobster....also the simple congee with condiments... a must try indeed ! The mattresses however need to be replaced as they are already curved at the centre & certainly not able to gv gd support of the spine

Hotel room is a bit old with damp smell. Visitors tend to smoke at non-smoking floor causing weird smell at the corridor. Bathroom is clean and bed is comfortable.

Hotel is old and not very well maintained. Room was noisy from the aircon. Housekeeping was sloppy by not putting in everything like hand towels, floor mat for the room. Took ages when requested.

It has been a long time since we last visit and stayed at Kota Bahru, though not much changes, we like our three night stay at The Grand Renai. Our room was big and spacious. We enjoy the breakfast, a mixed of everything, local and continental. There is a supermarket and bowling alley just next door the hotel. At night we wonder around to eat out and we were happy to have found a few restaurants near by just walking distance.

This hotel is convenient for us as we had to attend to some appointments nearby. It is an old hotel but the room and bathroom we had was clean. We only stayed one night so did not check out the amenities but we did notice that the buffet breakfast was not as good as it had been in our previous visits.

The Hotel location is next to Billion supermarket which is very easy to get anything. Rooms are very comfortable and the service are goods.

The hotel room could definitely do with new refurbishment since some of the wallpapers are coming off or torn. The breakfast buffet selections are great. As for the check in & out services, i would strongly suggest for the hotel to dedicate a specific staff for the express check in & out lane. The express check in & out lane is meant for the hotel guest who have paid the whole amount in full via expedia or other online web. This is to ensure shorter queue especially during Hari Raya or school holidays.

Parking still have to pay twice in 1 night..at the same place..have to spend almost rm50 for parking only..

It is so amazing to stay here. I like it so much yet there is a few things grand renai need to improve. First, please improve your breakfast selection. Please make it as excellent as ksl hotel,jb. Both of you are 5 star. Second, it is so much hassle to share a parking with billion shopper. We need to chop all the time before going out. Third, please renovate your jacuzzi as it quite old and rundown. Thats it, overall is ok. Just improvise this 3 things and you will be superb and awesome again

New name, OLD hotel

There is sound when I sit on the bed, it looks like never change since the hotel open. Not only the mattress, the frame also. The lighting is not sufficient for room and corridor. The water pressure for shower is low, can’t enjoy much. I like the breakfast and the gym facilities. The lobby is grand.

I stayed for 1 night here.I would say that this hotel is easy access to everywhere since it is located in kota bharu. 4 mins to kb mall,half n hour to beach(pcb n senak) if i'm not mistaken,30 mins to airport . This hotel got supermarket (Billion) ,one level with the lobby. Room is clean,toilet super comfortable with clean bath tub,facilities all are in good condition.No need to hassle for parking since we can park at B1 floor(which is also parking for those who visited Billion) but we need to get chopped from the P.I.C at the lobby on the parking card to enjoy free parking.

The room was comfortable as always. I do wish that the hotel’s air conditioning had been stronger.

Nice business hotel

The room's AC was not functioning and i was swiftly transferred to another room which was nice as well. I have no complaints about room 1705 except for the toilet tap whereby i strongly believe could do with a new head since the water pressure for toilet tap left much to be desired.

Nice hotel with strategic location

Initially during check in time, I'm having difficulty due to new staff incharge incapable of dealing with the customers. Fasting month and reached hotel at 7.45pm after 5-6 hours drove. Very tiring and just had a drink for my fast breaking. The new require to pair with the senior staff so that this situation won't happen to other customers.
