Wonderful inn in a lovely part of England. Thank you
Lovely hotel/pub, friendly staff, comfy clean rooms and beautiful food
Excellent hosts for our special nights celebration. Lovely situation in the most Northern of the Yorkshire Dales Arkengarthdale. Lovely evening meal to end our stay
Great place in the Northern Dales.
Reviewed once before. Great area to stay in and the CB Inn offers great drinks and dining.
Splendid spot in the Northern Dales
Very spacious room with views of the hills. Great food and beer on site and a room car park adjacent. The outdoor furniture had seen better days however.
Fabulous location, lovely room (we were in room 2) and excellent food. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if we're in the area.
This is an old property with great features & charm. Wonderful countryside & great for walking. Excellent food ! Friendly staff. Good parking
Lovely Stay
Friendly and super helpful staff
This is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location…will definitely go back
Lovely
It was wedding anniversary
Charles Bathurst
It is a few years since I’ve eaten there but what a pleasure it was to stay overnight in such a comfortable room. The food was lovely (proper pie) and the Viking bitter really hit the spot after a gruelling walk. The staff were courteous and accommodating. We could not have asked for more.
Service quick and friendly and excellent would definitely visit again.
Lovely Inn, clean and comfortable. Restaurant was very good. Breakfast was lovely. Staff was friendly and helpful. The setting couldn’t be prettier. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Perfect stopover
Spur of the moment night away. Husband snd i had a ride out on our motorbikes. Was a perfect starting point for our next days ride. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will stay again!
In a beautiful spot with friendly helpful staff. Would stay there again
A very friendly and welcoming with very professional staff. The food was excellent and the situation has superb views. The bed was very comfortable but the en suite were a little basic.
A great short break
Very friendly staff and the food was excellent.
Wonderfully quiet area for romantic escape .
Great room, friendly staff, incredible food. But❄️
Our stay was great. We only stayed the evening and left in the morning. Room was beautiful and the amenities included were great. The food served in the restaurant was incredible and the staff were really friendly. Only downside to the stay was that the heating seemed to have been turned off during the night and was only turned back on in the morning around 09:00, meaning we were pretty cold during the night which was the only detractor from the stay really. Ideally we would’ve had the option to check out later than 11:00, as we paid about £150 and didn’t end up checking in til about 19:45. Understandably though, I imagine they need to get the room sorted in time for the next guests and we did have the option of checking in from 15:00. All in all, an extremely pleasant stay in the dales. Just wish the room was warmer.
Great location, amazing views, excellent room, great food, staff service was a big let down first night had to get up from table to ask to order deserts as nobody came to ask, second night again waited ages nobody came so we left the restaurant without dessert or coffee.
An enjoyable Stay
My wife and I spent 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday Weekend at the Charles Bathhurst Inn. We certainly enjoyed our time there. We found the staff very friendly and always willing to help. Many procedures had been put in place to minimise Covid-19 risk. We had a spacious dual aspect room with a shower room. There was plenty of storage in a large chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe. Tea and Coffee were available in the room and a fridge in the corridor provided fresh milk. Two easy chairs within the room provided comfortable seating. There was also a lounge for guests available. We had all our breakfasts and evening meals in the Inn. The food was excellent, well prepared, and severed without long waits. Although the menus didn’t change during our stay there was sufficient variety to give us plenty to choose from. A large car park made car parking easy. We will certainly consider staying there again.
A beautiful inn in the middle of stunning and classic Yorkshire Dales landscape. Ended up eating at the pub every night as the food was so good. Relaxing and peaceful.
Comfortable stay
Very comfortable accommodation, couple of lounges to relax in . The food was very good and the customer service was excellent especially Michael
Excellent
The CB Inn was very comfortable and set in a beautiful location. We enjoyed a delicious meal, excellent service, and we look forward to visiting again.
exellent
Very good service - breakfast and dinner menus provide extensive choice of high quality food and VFM plus 4 real ales on fraught. Lovely location overlooking Arken Beck
overall very good, food lovely. Felt as though could have been better with regards Covid.
lovely place, enjoyed the service and the food.
just as good
back for a second time. Excellent food and friendly staff. fantastic location.
Loved our stay on this remote location
Wonderful atmosphere in this remote country inn. Good menu, tasty food and excellent considerate service. Comfortable accommodation with stunning views.
Splendid Stay
Despite the weather we had an excellent three day break. The room was warm and comfortable, the service was very good and the food was excellent. No wonder we made a return visit!
Great rural location with great food and staff
Excellent friendly service, food and attractive rural location. Only minor gripe is room 19 had v poor WiFi coverage and I found the coffee rather bitter. I’d certainly recommend it as a great place for a leisure stay.
Classic Yorkshire Dales pub and Hotel : Crackling fireplaces, Labs and very welcoming locals. A wonderful room and great home cooking completed our stay. Defo recommend and will be returning.
The cleanliness of the room. Very good. Choosing your meals from a mirror in the bar. Rather strange.
Lovely food and rooms, excellently positioned in the dale.
Not suitable for the disabled
The hotel was situated in lovely surroundings on the moors. However it was in the middle of now where. My wife has severe problems walking and to reach our bedroom she had to climb 36 steps and really could not cope.As a result we cancelled the two remaining days and checked out.
Exceptional service and lovely food
The CB Inn has the best of a pub in terms of atmosphere and welcome, but the status of a hotel with the quality of the rooms and brilliant cuisine. All the staff were interested and knowledgeable about the food we ordered. The setting is idyllic, looking down the peaceful dale, with walks all around from the doorstep.
Very comfortable and food was very good. The hotel has a wonderful scenic outlook.
Very pleasant inn with rooms in a stunning setting
Wonderful rural location, excellent staff and very good food. Great mixture of locals and visitors in the bar, with quoits and dominos in progress. Rooms have super views to the hills in every direction. Packed lunches and paper delivery available, along with lots of local information including copies of many local walks. Best pub we have stayed at.
BRILLIANT!
Had an amazing night stay, gorgeous food and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
A Yorkshire Dales break
A lovely, cosy place to stay. Fantastic walk in Swaledale. Good bonfire and firework display at the CB and Reeth.
Overnight stay
Enjoyed the overnight stay. Breakfast was excellent, tho dinner a little disappointing. Room was ok tho trying to shower in the bath without a curtain was challenging
Awesome
I have wanted to stay at this inn for many years and was not disappointed The food is exceptional and varied, the staff attentive and friendly. The evening menu is extensive and the breakfast a thing of beauty. We visited on a cold and miserable day but woke to a stunning view of the top of the dales. All in all superb.
Beautiful country inn.
We found exactly the sort of English countryside experience we were looking for here. Beautifully located in middle of the Yorkshire Dales. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The pub has a nice garden to enjoy a pint in under the stars. And good food. Well worth the drive and the price.
Very nice, perfect base for exploring The Dales
The CB Inn is a traditional country pub with some more upmarket elements. The bar is well stocked and staff very attentive. We were shown to our room (7) and given what we thought was the main information (dinner, breakfast etc) but weren't told about the residents lounge area which we found by accident when leaving! The room was clean and tidy and a nice touch was small bottles of fresh milk for tea/coffee being available in a small fridge on the landing. The seal around the bath looks tired and unsightly and needs replacing as it spoils the feel of an otherwise very nice room. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and the food was delicious and well presented. I do think a couple more vegetarian main options would be good as there was only 1 item available. We sat in the bar after dinner where the atmosphere was very friendly and it was nice to chat with the staff, including the chef. Upon retiring to bed, we realised our room was directly over the bar and the noise carries up a lot. If you go to bed before 11.30 or want to sleep beyond 8 do not book Room 7. While a little annoying, it was fine for us. Breakfast was again delicious and good quality. Plenty of choice but not overwhelming. Overall a very nice experience, We will definitely be returning.
Comfortable accommodation with excellent catering
The room was well equipped and comfortable. Check in and out were slick. All the staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. All in all a very pleasant experience. The only downside was the lack of communication with the outside world, which for us is important. There is no mobile phone signal at all. There is free wi fi, which does work adequately most of the time, but when everyone is trying to access it it just can't cope. Otherwise perfect.
Good hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Hotel was very good. We wanted a quiet break, good food and hotel. The CB Inn was perfect. Huge bedroom with stunning views. Only thing missing was a shower in the big bathroom, again with great views. Restaurant food was excellent but some cushions on the wooden chairs would be good. Went up to Tan Hill on the Sunday morning after an excellent breakfast of local produce. Thick cut bacon and Cumberland sausage particularly tasty. The bed was huge and very comfortable with lots of pillows. Towels soft and fluffy but rather small bath towels. We will certainly be back.
Traditional hotel/pub
All staff very helpful and polite even when it was very busy. Our room was booked quite late and I wanted a bath not a shower, so only two rooms left which matched requirements; a very popular hotel in January. The room was lovely and warm, which was a plus. The bedroom was small but had everything you needed, including some lovely shortbread biscuits on the second morning. The only minus was the bathroom. The bath had seen better days. The enamel on the bath was worn in places with deep scratches which looked dirty. Two mirrors; the one over the bath hadn't been cleaned. The restaurant and bar were highlights. The beer, wine and food were excellent. All food was cooked perfectly and the staff were helpful both in the evening and at breakfast times.
