Great location. Very helpful staff. Very clean and confortable room.
A nice place easy to find, very welcoming on arrival, shown to the room super comfy bed, enormous bath tub some brighter light bulbs in the bedroom wouldn't go amiss unless i missed a dimmer switch somewhere
Friendly clean only negative was the waves in our room , I’m fairly Tall so had to stoop quite often
Great location, lovely ambience, delicious food & excellent service
Great location
Excellent trip.
Good Hotel in good area.
Good hotel, food good, rooms clean and tidy, in a good location. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful.
Great staff, location and ambiance. Excellent breakfast of cockles and lavabread
It was a small old hotel. Very quaint we really enjoyed our stay Be aware that there are 4 stories of stairs !
Laughgne
Laughgne a lovely place, arrived at hotel, draught beer off and WiFi not working. Food not available in hotel from 2:30pm Sunday until Wednesday day evening, good for the figure. Most of the places to eat in Laughgne have very restricted opening times. Cleanliness and appearance of Browns good, staff a little lacklustre. In defence of Browns they did apologise and offered a small reduction in recompense.
Always such a warm welcome here at this hotel. Lovely comfortable rooms. We stay here every year for my husbands birthday. Highly recommend staying here. The food in the Penderyn Restaurant is absolutely superb, such delicious food. Can’t wait to return for a lovely relaxing weekend.
All the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The place had a unique character.
Beautiful!!!
Completely gorgeous hotel loved it!!!!!
The historic drinking place of Dylan Thomas, great vibe, cool decor in a very handy location to further explore Laugharne
Iconic hotel where Dylan Thomas spent a lot of time hanging out in the bar. It is lovingly decorated and the rooms were a real treat, even including a French press for coffee. Our room was huge and had lots of lovely details, including a wonderful high ceiling. We stayed in the Corran room, which still gets 5 stars in spite of a few logistical issues. The bathroom, while technically en suite, is down a couple of steps, which is a small challenge in the middle of the night. The real challenge is the low beam over these steps – at 5’6” I brushed right up against it – but then another even lower beam between the door of the bathroom and the toilet – even I hit my head on that one – but my partner (over 6’) hit his head repeatedly on both. The hotel is a short stroll from the castle, other Dylan Thomas sites, and restaurants. The front desk and bar guy (same person) was super welcoming. The hotel restaurant is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, so we did not get to eat dinner there, but breakfast (starts at 8 am was a wonderful made-to-order affair.
Great character in the building and interior designs. The location is good and staff were helpful. The one slight downside was there was a shortage of hot water for a bath in the evening. Other than that would stay there again.
Nice stay
One night stay for wedding. Nice room, good breakfast and enjoyed the bar on the Saturday afternoon. Absolutely no complaints
we loved the decor and the room attention to detail was lovley only thing pillows very soft but that is personal preference
Fab little boutique hotel
Great hotel in a small town famous for Dylan Thomas, and Brown's was one of his drinking haunts. All done up swish and boutiquey now. Cracking breakfast. Book ahead if you wants to eat there in the evening.
Loved everything food, staff, costs lovely boutique hotel 🏩 which met my expectations. Good information on Dylan.
Laugharne - home of under Milk Wood
Atmospheric hotel - a lovely place to spend an evening on a cold February night and for any fans of Dylan Thomas, a necessary pilgrimage. Really good bar food and helpful staff who laid up our table in the bar for breakfast so our dog could sit with us ( and help to consume a very tasty cooked breakfast). There are great walks around Laugharne so a good base for a weekend break.
Lovely hotel everything you need , good place to tour this area lovely pendine not far away
Lovely friendly hotel. Excellent value for money, and even more so because they upgraded our room. The staff were super friendly to us and and our Pug. We also ate in the bar during our stay there,.
Really nice country pub
Didnt eat in the restaurant but spoke to friends who had and they said it was amazing.
Efficiently run hotel. Staff friendly. Nice decor.
Enjoyable relaxing time.
A lovely hotel with character and history. In need of a little tlc now but overall a good stay. Excellent live music on Sunday afternoon. Meal fairly average especially for the price.
Good hotel in the town
Browns hotel was conveniently situated in the town of Laugharne. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed and separate bathroom. Breakfast was good. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this beautiful part of Wales.
Browns is a reasonably priced gem.
Good Hotel with very helpful staff. Great atmosphere in bar. Watch your head if you are tall - some of the broom entrances are quite low. Bedrooms are good sized and very reasonably priced. Breakfast is good.
The hotel and location are beautiful but due to mobility issues I asked for a ground floor room with a shower. I was put in an attic room with a bath, despite 2 pre-visit telephone calls to confirm. I did not want to leave a negative review so spoke with hotel to raise this and hope this could be compensated. They offered an upgrade at a later stay! Poor customer service.
A quirky and charming overnight stay
It was a coincidental accident that I booked what was a former Dylan Thomas haunt as an English teacher for an overnight stay en route to Pembroke Port and what a delightful stay it was. This hotel is charming, adorned with Dylan Thomas memorabilia all over the hallway and bar. Apparently, it was a favourite of Thomas's while he spent his last years in the little town. We received a warm welcome on both arrival and departure. My parents were allocated a complimentary upgrade to the penthouse suite, which felt more like an apartment as it was just so homely. There were old cameras, type-writers etc carefully placed all over the room and a little sofa in front of the television. We were very comfortable that night and the next morning enjoyed a super power shower experience with lovely Welsh toiletries that had a delicious scent. Not failing to disappoint at any point, the breakfast was very good too and served in an atmospheric and clearly newly interior-designed dining room. Overall, this hotel was a very pleasant surprise in a historical town that was utterly charming. We would highly recommend!
Beautiful character
The second time I’ve stayed here. It’s a beautiful hotel with lots of character. Plenty of beautiful scenery around and close to lots of places. Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely book again even for personal use not just for work. Thank you
Browns
Stop off before taking ferry next morning. Nice people. Comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Nice place to stay and good value.
Great location. Nice room. Very hot weather so could have done with an extra fan. Unfortunately new Restaurant was not ready so didn’t eat there.
Great stay
Lovely b&b with all we needed for a great stay. The room was quirky with good facilities and the breakfast was good. Only down side was being on the top floor with no lift, fine for us but a pull up for some one less able.
Laugharne- So relaxing!
Had a wonderful stay here at The Browns Hotel once again. From the moment you check in with the friendly staff, being taken to your room and everything explained that you need to know. Rooms are so comfortable and very clean. Always look forward to the delicious breakfasts on offer! Cannot wait to return and stay again! Well done The Browns Hotel!
Lovely.
Really friendly. Great breakfast. Good rooms. Limited menu, but currently extending restaurant which is opening soon. By the way the work on the restaurant does not effect the hotel at all.
Wonderful quaint village, perfect for a relaxing day or two. We had a ground floor room with the best shower. No stairs if you went in from the front of the Hotel.
Value for money
Lovely for walking my dog. Hotel was very dog friendly.
A bit disappointing
Firstly the restaurant being closed for refurbishment is information I would like to have when booking, not arriving. A limited menu was available in the bar, but limited is being generous. The room was ok, but not great. It's only a five minute walk to some lovely coastline. It might be ok when they have a restaurant, but next time I'll probably try somewhere else.
Lovely hotel, fabulous part of the world.
Lovely hotel with feature bedrooms. Very comfortable stay. Could improve breakfast - if you didn't want a cooked breakfast, there were limited cereals and options i.e a bowl of fruit salad and yoghurt etc.
What’s not to like?
A spacious room in the faded style synonymous with the look of Browns. I loved it! The bed was large and comfortable and my room called The Strand had a large sofa, large tv and a bay window looking into the main steeet. My only criticism would be the digital radio reception was almost nonexistent and the room had no clock so the t had to go on to tell the time. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I’m looking forward to their restaurant opening so all hotel facilities will be available onsite.
Went here for two nights for my 70th birthday. Room was lovely and very comfortable. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast very good. Basically could not fault anything. Will definitely visit again.
Fantastic hotel
What a fantastic hotel. The staff were so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast was superb as was the room. The bar was fab with live music which was ace. Everyone made the stay so fantastic. If you love Dylan Thomas then you will love Browns Hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel. Cannot wait to go back.
Great! Lovely room, warm welcome - perfect! The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is gorgeous.
Room fine.Restaurant closed for refurbishment. Very limited and poor quality bar food. Room and breakfast very good.
perfectly pleasant & interesting hotel
The hotel & room was clean & tidy. There was no shower in the bathroom, but it did have a bath with a handheld shower. The staff were mostly friendly, just one lady that seemed a little off in the morning when serving up breakfast - Even after saying thanks she didn't acknowledge myself or my colleague (on both mornings). The dinner options are limited, but what we ate was tasty. I'm planning on returning at some point with my wife for a short getaway so can't be too bad.
Lovely oldie worlde pub/hotel with lots of interesting decor and history (Dylan Thomas). Only drawback was a limited menu in the evenings but for a 1-2 night stay it was fine.
Great room shame about the menu
Great, giant room. Poor menu - very little, unappealing choice. Their two Tesla car chargers are a definite plus.
Comfortable Hotel with friendly staff.
Comfortable stay in a friendly Hotel. Lovely Breakfast! The Evening food menu however! Was a little disappointing. Not much choice & a lot of the items had run out even though it was only 6pm.
Short break
Last minute break after Christmas. Passed through Laugharne a couple of times previously, this was our first stay. Hotel was very comfy & cosy. Laugharne is just beautiful, peaceful and tranquil with lovely walks.
Very helpful staff, comfortable large room and good breakfast. What more could you ask for.
