Great place to stay and relax. Everything was perfect!! Thank you TallyHo Inn and can't wait to come back.
Beautiful waterfront cottage
We had a fantastic visit at Tally-Ho. Staff were wonderfully accommodating in helping us access a private meeting space with WiFi after our check-out time. This resort is very dog-friendly, in fact, I'd call them "dog-enthusiastic"!
We stayed in a 2bdr/2bath chalet and it was just what we needed! The style is simple but nice and practical. Beds are a bit bouncy and on the small side (full), but comfortable. Mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room are really handy too!
Enjoyed our stay at Tally-Ho
We stayed for 2 nights at Tally-Ho inn. The location was great and by the lake. Staff were very friendly. Communication were great before check in and for check out through emails and text messages. Our suite was very clean and beds comfortable. I would only suggest they do minor improvement as door to bathroom was squeaky and one of heat elements was making noise. We would definitely try to go there in summer.
Always a fantastic getaway for us and our pups. Thank you!
Great location and scenic views. Had a lot of fun with the canoe and kayak provided by the hotel for free. However, the hotel is way over priced for the level of service and the conditions of the property . I will try to be constructive. Lots of dust on the vents in the bathroom and under the bed. The sofa bed is dirty, too, when you unfold it. There are no Kleenex or body lotion provide. The bathroom door is making jarring noise when it’s opening or closing. And one light switch controls the bathroom fan, the bathroom light and the light above the vanity, which is in the same room of the bedroom. Hence, I I couldn’t turn on the light when I had to use the bathroom at night. With that said, I do see the owner has started the renovations such as the floor. But a lot more work is needed to match the expectations of the customers with the price they are charged.
Beautiful place! Great view!
Good Location
This is lovely place.
Good for summer with family
location , easr check in and out
Relaxing stay!
A beautiful place to get away as a couple with our pup!
Excellent cottage near Algonquin park.
We have 1 br 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed 4 pillows but we are mossing 2 pillow cases.
The beds were comfortable. Great view of the lake. Nice to have a separate bedroom. The galley kitchen was also good to have although more cupboard or shelf space would make it better.
Another great stay thank you !
NICE PROPERTY WITH AFFORDABLE PRICE.
I recently stayed at a beautiful lakefront cabin resort, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The property itself is stunning, with serene views of the lake, perfect for those looking to relax in nature. The highlight of the stay was the availability of boats and kayaks, which added an extra layer of fun. However, they are only available between 8am and 7pm, which limits late-night or early-morning water activities. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, adding to the comfortable and cozy atmosphere. However, I did run into an issue with the BBQ grill – the ignition wasn’t working, which was a bit of a hassle, but we were able to work around it. One downside was that communication with the staff wasn’t the best. There were moments when it was difficult to get prompt responses, which slightly impacted our overall experience. Despite that, the natural beauty and amenities still made it a memorable stay. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with access to water activities during the day, this cabin resort is worth considering, but keep in mind some minor inconveniences.
Our second stay at the Tally Ho and again were not disappointed. The grounds are immaculate as well as our cabin The Beaches. Our dogs love the large leash free park. The employees are all super freindly and accommodating. Thank you Tally Ho we will see you you again in October.
Great cabin for fishermen. Charging for boats in the boat park and right beside a boat launch.
A place where you can really relax
We needed a place to sleep near Algonquin and it did the job.
Amazing stay at Tally Ho Inn! Provided kayaks/canoes and board games too which was added bonus besides clean and spacious rooms!
We've loved the rustic feel and the amenities it offered. Hope to make it back again. Thanks
Lovely, relaxing holiday. Really enjoyed kayaking on the lake! Minimal “kitchen” (no sink). Weak internet.
Fsmily stay
Went to celebrate my mom birthday the property is aweome with great views and all They have so many games to choose from , we played badminton and tennis. They communicated well in advance of all the things. Overall great stay and amazing experience.
Fun 2 night family vacay
Had a great time! Cabin right next to the lake. Very clean even though it looks a bit old. Staffs were very nice
Good and peaceful surroundings. But the kitchenette is very minimal.
Beautiful view, perfect for a local getaway
Nice and clean place and excellent and friendly staff
I liked it
I think Tally Ho is rated a 2 star which I think is a correct level. Good & affordable family option. All the usual activities are available…kayaking, badminton, puzzles & games for the kids. What I didn’t like…so much goose poop !
Very relaxing for very serene place and close to nature.
Perfect spot on the lake
This is a lovely location on the lake and near to Alonnquin park entrance on Highway 60. There is free use of canoes and chairs to sit on the water edge. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Have no docks for boats or any outlets to plug in your boat
An average inn.
Nice area but wouldn't return. Situated on a beautiful lake. Mostly helpful and friendly staff. Cabin was clean, but hot and uncomfortable. No a/c and windows didn't all open. Shower was very difficult. Beach was minimal and covered in goose droppings - so was a lot of the grass.
Easy check in, Employees very friendly. Enjoyed our stay so much.
Second time back here, love the area and people. Cottages are basic but perfect for the location and Muskoka area! Will be back soon!
Disappointing experience. The grounds are beautiful, and the location is pretty good, but the place is very old, and could do with a cleaning, especially given the rates they charge. Lights will turn on and off by themselves, there’s dust everywhere, curtains are all stained, the AC is old and very loud. The staff are not very friendly, quite different from other experiences we’ve had in the area. All that we could deal with though, the main problem we experienced was a mouse in our cabin. When we went to the front desk to complain and ask to be put in a different cabin, their response, surprisingly, was that they knew about the mouse in our cabin and had put traps to try and get it. So they put us in a room with a mouse knowingly, and just hoped we wouldn’t come across it and didn’t even apologize for anything. We were then moved to a different cabin that has a very different layout to what we’d booked, was even older than the first one and had no AC, which was also disappointing. We were offered no discounts or partial refunds at all for all these changes and inconveniences.
Nice accommodations near the beautiful Algonquin Park. We were there in April to celebrate a birthday so the weather wasn’t great, but I imagine it’s gorgeous during the summer.
Tally ho is a stunning location Whilst the cabins look tired from the outside they were clean and comfortable inside.
Room basic, but clean, in good repair. Communication with office very responsive. Nice view of the lake from windows in all the units. Access to motel rooms would not be suitable for physically challenged guests.
Amazing view of lake from cottage. Very clean and came with everything you need for your stay. Didnt love the amount of goose poop in the yard. Over all a wonderful experiences. Defiently will be back.
Awesome as always! 3rd year in a row!
Quiet area. Great customer service. The cottage we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. There is no kitchen, so be bring utensils/plates and a dish bin for washing (unless you want to use the bathroom sink). The only thing I would say was off putting was the goose poop but I understand that’s hard to control. We would stay here again. The price was very reasonable.
Very clean, all functional, canoe/kayak included, recommended.
The lake and the bonfire
Close to the city. Kind workers, the cottage is very clean and quite comfortable, a beautiful lake, there is a place to walk the dog, a convenient boat launch.
Excellent stay. Very clean😘
Overall conditions are okay. Two complaints/issues: 1. When we first entered the unit, the floor is still wet-we used the tissue to dry it and it is all 'black'. i suspected the water used to mop the floor is dirty, not a result of decoloring of the wood stain. 2. We saw a mice running across the living room and we tried to catch it, it ran into the fireplace.
Excellent and incredibly friendly, clean property, well organized, cottage was in wonderful condition and it is just so scenic it was hard to go home. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I will be returning.
Had a great time, check in and out was communicated clearly everything we needed to know was sent in a timely manner. The cottage was very clean, and quiet there was a little bit of road traffic and the cable wasn't working on the tv but overall we had a very good time. It was a little chilly to swim but the lake was clean and sandy, would definitely recommend and would stay agian
We loved it! Gem in Muskoka
We had a wonderful time! Can’t wait to go back! Such a great spot for a family trip. The cottage was clean and we were impressed by how thoughtful they were with pots and pans and cutlery etc.. communication was excellent. We had a empty propane tank when we first arrived and they came quickly to swap it. Loved the canoes! Only con was 1 spring mattress in our room that was uncomfortable. When speaking to the front desk (very nice lady) she said they will be replaced soon. They also have some nice plans for upgrading the cottage we stayed in. Loved this place and will recommend to anyone for sure!
Incredibly easy check-in with thorough instructions sent via SMS
Very poorly managed, not clean at all. Rooms are not too well but outside was terrible, full of bird/animal poops all around!
Nice renovated cottage. However, grassy area outside is not well maintained.
AC did not work for the first night and we were provided fans which were almost next to none. Requested manager to compensate as we paid specially for AC in summer with small kids but she rejected the request.
quite and beautiful place to stay
Second time staying and will not be the last time.
Great location. Friendly staff. Kayaks and canoes. Would recommend.
Beautiful Beautiful. As advetised and we were extremely happy
Clean and comfortable
Amazing place
Great Muskoka getaway
While the building itself is a little dated from the outside, the room was very clean, bright and spacious. I prefer firmer beds/pillows so it was a little too soft for me, but this doesn't apply for everyone obviously. The lake is beautiful - highly recommend waking up for sunrise!
A charming place that we stayed at between seasons.
Wonderful view and comfortable room
We loved our short stay at Tally Ho! We had a wonderful view of the water from our cabin, and barbecued some hamburgers for dinner. We enjoyed the clean cool room and satellite tv! Would definitely come back!
Tally Ho is a nice place to stay. Staff are friendly and always very helpful. Rooms are clean and the property is beautiful. I come to stay once or twice per year. Always great to be back.
Algonquin park home base
No frills and a little dated cottage (Sunnyside 14). Did its job as our “home base” for trips to Algonquin Park. Beds were clean and comfy. Nice view of the lake from the living room and back yard.
Very easy to check in and out. The property around the cottage is very pretty. The cottage itself is clean and has all amenities. I would recommend this stay
Place was great, quiet and nicely located just close enough to town. Perfect for those looking for a cottage feel!
Great stay!
We had a great stay! Modest cabins with everything you need. Wood burning fireplace was a wonderful touch! Friendly service with great communication. We have been before and will certainly be back.
We love it all. Such a beautiful place. Took shower for 5 people were slow water but manageable. Thanks to keep up the reasonable price.
Having a fantastic experience ✨️
This was between seasons so the grounds weren’t ready for summer and the whole place needs some TLC but it’s charming and good value.
Weekend getaway
Booked the Echo cottage at Tally Ho and was really impressed. Clean and spacious. Wood burning fireplace was an added bonus. Parking on site, right beside cottage. Beautiful property, unfortunately it rained all weekend but we made the most of it inside playing board games by the fire. Dinner at restaurant across the street was delicious! Muskoka on the rocks. Very good stay at a great price! Thank you!
Nature
I liked everything about the property, the staff is very helpful i am going back. Very quiet and felt safe by myself.
AMAZING PLACE ! sooooo thankful! The staff was so friendly !! Had such a great time and they even worked with me to surprise my fiance for his birthday soooo sweet!! Love love love this resort!
Thank you !! So amazing !
Best pet friendly cottage!
As a family, with a dog it’s so hard to find nice spots to get away. This has been by far the nicest we have ever stayed. Everything was so clean. So close to Huntsville to grab groceries and only a short drive to Algonquin or Arrowhead.
Ski stay
Nice clean cabin. Ceiling Fan! Great for sleeping. Bathroom and floors brand new, very nice. Thanks !
Super cute room, very clean. Friendly staff. And love that the place is pet friendly.
This Property is amazing well maintained a must visit with ur family n friends. I was there for one night though will return back in coming summer. one word Hurray for entire team Keep up good work
I loved that the property had a fenced in area for dogs, my dog loves playing fetch and it tired her out nicely. The cottage was a good size for 7 people, it didn’t feel too crowded. We had no issues and would definitely book again!
This is our favourite spot to go! We love the Mapleview rooms. Beautiful fireplace, view and pet friendly. The staff, especially Sherry, are awesome!!
Its very easy to be there! Check in and out and simple and easy. Its a quiet place in the winter ' which we love. Also love the enclosed dog park....huge bonus!!
It has all you need. The property is dated but functional. Parking is away. No power outlets to charge your phones.
Second time staying here (we went last winter as well). This cabin was nicer than the previous one (which was also nice as well). The cottage / cabin is rustic but very clean and comfortable. Very large windows that let in a lot of light. They had a Roku for the TV so we were able to watch Netflix, Disney and Prime movies at night. The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows, which isn’t often the case in most hotels / resorts. They are pet friendly as well, which is a huge plus. We did some hiking nearby in Algonquin Park and had dinner in Huntsville, both of which are nearby. I’m sure it’s lovely in the summer, but if you’re looking for a nice, quiet and comfortable get away in the winter be sure to check it out.
Although there was an error in Expedia listing, the ladies whom did our check-in did an amazing job at accommodating us!
2nd time to stay here. Everyone i expected. Last time was in Paradise this time in Honeymoon cabin. They bed in Honeymoon is very firm, a mattress pad to soften it up a bit would be a great idea.
Pretty quaint and lake view cabins, made new friends and enjoyed a night out. Worth the buck for sure
Great time at tally ho
Very lovely. Beautiful scenery. Cabin was clean and warm on arrival. Even though kitchen had things provided, it was very basic so bring your items to add to it
Loved the surrounding area. Very nice amd accessible and plowed quickly during a bad storm.
2 night short trip
They stay was comfortable but I did not find the place clean. We found pet hair on all beddings. The place had a very weird smell when we first entered and we wished we had brought some candles or deodorizer with us. The shower was very difficult to turn on and figure out the hot water. There were only 2 mugs and 5 plates provided ! If I had know this I would have brought my own cutlery. We went to dollar store to get paper plates so we can enjoy meals at the cottage. The beds were comfortable which was good and that why I am give the 3 stars. We felt safe in the area and all amenities were close by. I would not return unless the cleanliness situation is improved. There was a note on the wall which stated that if the towel would have make up or dirt we will be charged. How can we use towels without making them dirty???
Pleasant stay. November. Quiet. Clean. Needed a 1 nite stay. The unit was simple and adequate. I need a good size parking spot because of my vehicle size and was upgraded to a nicer unit to stay in no charge. Very accommodating ownership. Will stay again.
Awesome
sky filled with stars and it was across the lake
Enjoyable stay
We very much enjoyed our stay. The property is well cared for and the service was timely and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the cottage was clean, and we enjoyed the fact that we qualified for and were given upgraded accommodation. We would go again.
To be able to walk right out doors, close to the water
