No wifi in room, bed was uncomfortable l, drain pipe broke outside my balcony door resulting in heavy rainfull hitting plastic making alot of noise,balcony door broke just came off into my hands while trying open it,shower cold, literally had worst sleep all week snd check out a day early just so i could get a decent room in another hotel

I loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Rooms were large and spacious, the hotel is close to restaurants. Very charming.

Good Value in a Great location

My son and I were on a an overnight layover in Frankfurt and I wanted to go explore the old Hochst neighborhood where the hotel is located. The location is outstanding; very close to some charming old restaurants and Schloss and a pedestrian zone with bakeries and shops. The hotel itself was just a nice basic, clean hotel at a pretty good price that met our needs just fine.

The room was dirty dusty and smelt musty. Parts of the carpeting was sticky. The shower doors were broken. The pillow was almost none existent. The plug by the bed didn’t work. The lamp over the bed didn’t work.

The room smells bad.

Last-minute booking due to awful initial hotel. Tagungshotel Höchster Hof Frankfurt was a welcomed experience. Inexpensive, had everything I needed, helpful staff, good transport access to the city.

Close to Frankfurt airport. One bus and a short 7mins away away. Lots of cute little shops to browse through if you're there during the day

Good value for price

For the price and value, this is actually a really good stay. The bed was comfortable. The area is nice and safe. The condition of the hotel hasn't been maintained too well, but if the stains were removed, then it would be pretty good.

The area is easy to get using public transportation. A lot nearby restUrants and grocery stores. Room is clean and roomy, and quiet. Very comfortable stay.besides the river and a park. Hope i had more time to explore

Hotel in 1970’es style. Nothing much has been done to upgrade it in the last 50 years, but it’s fairly well maintained and so it has a peculiar retro charm. Ask for a room with a view to the river Main, that’s a real asset of this hotel.

I was surprised this hotel was rated 7/10. My first impression of the place was the people standing outside drinking bottled beer in front of the entrance. The staff was friendly especially the bartender in the hotel bar. The hotel was older which I did read on the reviews however they could have replaced the moldy grout in the bathtub and the ripped sheer curtains. They had two mini fridges in the room and neither one worked. At least the beds were clean and it got cooler in the night so we could sleep.

Staff was great! However pigeons take over windows and was unable to open windows for air.

It’s a quick inn for layover flight . No AC in the room but it’s convenient and close to the airport

It was nice to book this hotel on short notice and for a very good price. Staff as friendly and check-in was so easy!

The building looked very pretty and I had high hopes. However, I am very disappointed with the experience. The fridge in the room barely works, so nothing stayed cold (there is a button to increase/decrease temperature, but it made no difference). There is also no a/c in the room, which made it extremely hot and stuffy. There was a bathtub but it didn't have a plug, so we couldn't use it. There was a TV but it didn't work. They offer wifi but it doesn't connect on the second floor (it does in the lobby, I don't know about anywhere else). After talking to the receptionists several times, we got another room offered. This one was unfortunately very dirty and some appliances and bath-parts were broken. It didn't have a fridge or a/c. We went back to the previous room, but nothing else was offered to fix our troubles. At 10 in the morning a cleaning lady came in while we were nude (without knocking), which was probably not her fault, but just poor management. We will not be going back or recommending it to anyone. On a positive note, the bar lady is very nice and informative.

Breakfast was nice, and it was located right next to the Mainz river. Easy access to public transportation and a bar is located right next to the hotel.

Hotel is a bit tired now and no a/c in the rooms which are very hot. Facilities in the room for making a coffee but no coffee or cups? Restaurant and bar closed at present

I recommend this hotel 100% it was clean ,I like it because I could be in touch with nature, very friendly people..excellent experience.

Not too clean and my room smelled of smoke. But the staff were great, as was the filling breakfast.

My room was in pretty bad shape. The smoke detector had been removed and only bare wire was left. The carpet was discoloured and dirty. The toilet area was very old with several loose tiles. You could feel individual springs in the mattress. The duvet liner was clean, but the duvet itself was yellow with age. I would not recommend this to anyone.

The primary concern was with the misleading statement about proximity being 3 1/2 miles, 6 kilometres. The taxi fare return was 56 euros.

The hotel was well positioned along river. The temperature was high and no air conditioning.

I wanted something close to the airport and this one was supposed to be. I still ended up spending 40 euros to and from the hotel for a hotel with no food or AC. Regret not booking another hotel.

The location is ideal and accommodations quaint. Breakfast is fantastic, "free parking" is for a price. An actual key for each room is used, but the doors only lock (from inside and outside) with the one key, causing a problem if there are two people. The directive to leave the key at the front desk when going out in case of theft was also a little unnerving. Nice stay, but be wary.

Historical getaway on the edge of Frankfurt

The hotel is a block away from the Hoechst historical area. Highlights are the Hoechst palace , the Main river , the pubs and regional food in the old town square. The bus/train station is close by and from there many scenic Taunus area towns are accessible , Konigstein, Kronberg, Hofheim. The hotel is remodeled form the 70s and I enjoy the updated older style. Breakfast was included in the price and was abundant with eggs and sausage , cereals , juices, fresh rolls and more. The nbr 58 bus RMV goes direct from Frankfurt Airport to Hoechst , current price is €4,90.

Not really 3 star hotel.

Ok stay but The bar/restaurant is only open 5- 10pm but there are other places within walking distance. Our room was stuffy even windows open, overall ok.parking is 10 euro p night.

It was a elegant old hotel on the first floor, somewhat dated in the rooms, but not badly. The location was a little off and description did not indicate how really far it was from the main train station. It cost €40 euros by taxi to get there! Very expensive!

Nice stay in historical Frankfurt-Hoechst

Hoechster-Hof is in western enclave of Frankfurt that has a charming historically restored old town square , Follow the riverwalk by the hotel a few blocks to Hoechst palace, Enjoy apfelwein , local biers and brats and gastronomic specialties from the Hessen region. Regional Train station and busses nearby take you to center of Frankfurt or to the airport (bus 58 to T1), and bus other nearby historical towns like Hattersheim and Hofheim. Plenty to Do in the Taunus region. This is third visit to the hotel and each time I discover something new. Staff was helpful and the hotel has the comforts needed , and a wonderful breakfast buffet included .

Clean hotel, close to the river, far from center

Hotel located near the river which is nice for morning walks. It is far from city center and to get to the bars area and the city center you might need to take tow trains which is not comfortable . the room it self is OK, have plenty of space and clean, free wifi. It doesn't have air condition (like many hotels in Germanye), No parking space. if you are coming during the weekend with a car then you can park in the street for free otherwise the hotel offers paid parking lot.

Absolutely recommendable

The hotel is a little worn, but rooms are clean and spacious which makes it excellent value for money. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I'd happily stay there again antime.

My stay was good. The rooms are spacious,clean and the bed was very comfortable, also the breakfast was good.

Made a mistake choosing this

This hotel was one step up from a hostel. Decor from 1970's, paper thin walls I could hear conversations, cobwebs on hotel room walls, room cold with only an old fashioned radiator to heat it. For the price there are far nicer and modern hotels to choose.

Nice clean hotel

Nice comfortable stay and bar staff were very nice but the currywurst is not currywurst it is sausage with tomato ketchup and a sprinkling of curry powder be aware when ordering it.

Convenient, inexpensive

Room was on the small side and a bit spartan (no refrigerator or hot water pot), but front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Convenient to shopping and restaurants.

Nice hotel in a safe area

Had a two day stay with this hotel. In a good area for restaurants and shops. The room we had was on the top floor facing the river. Highly recommend you request a top floor room. The room was hot at times as there is no air conditioning but we were able to open windows and experience a cool breeze. As it was on the third floor we could leave the windows ajar at nigh time when sleeping. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Very good value and a good range of fresh hot and cold selections.

Friendly staff

Family of 4 had plenty of space. The bathroom was fully tiled and clean. It had a shower and a tub. The bar downstairs had excellent service with cold beer and we tried the BBQ bacon cheeseburger which was great. The free breakfast was a bonus with cappuccino machine, eggs, sausage, cheeses and cold cuts along with juices and coffee. Highly recommend

Interesting outside architecture that urgently needs to be paint. Inside a little old fashion with steps at the entrance and no roller way for the luggages. Very clean room. way too small bathroom with tiny but OK shower. Very, very good buffet breakfast. 25 Euros away from the Airport when I rent it because it was in a group of close to the Airport. For the quality / price aspect it is a 4.8. Thanks.

Hotel on river

Residential neighborhood on river with nice walking and biking trail. Cafes and shops of the neighborhood. Metro close by so worked for us as we did not want to be in downtown.

Comfortable bed in an old hotel

The hotel we stayed at was not the same building that was pictured. It's next door to it. It's old AMC the rooms are kinda dingy but the bed was comfortable and for one night worth the price. The restaurant Zum Baren is about a 5 min walk and it was delicious and the area is a true hidden gem!

Very hot room!

Hotel staff were very nice and helpful, however room was extremely hot since there is no air conditioning. Front desk provided me with an electric fan which helped a lot, but I couldn't sleep for the 3 nights I stayed there. Also the small fridge was not working and only a small uncomfortable pillow was provided. The hotel is far from the airport as well as the city center, so a taxi would cost around 35 euros for each, but a train station is a 10 minutes walk. I wouldn't recommend the hotel in the summer since it will be very unpleasant. Also it is better to pay a little more and stay near the airport or the city center.

Good for a night stay.

Even though we arrived late at 11pm, it was easy to locate the hotel.Breakfast was good, staff courteous. Past midnight, you can hear people shouting, drunk, so be prepared for noise.Quiet in the morning with a park and lake nearby, very scenic.

Classic elegance, great breakfast buffet

This is a lovely older hotel that shows it's age a bit but is clean, comfortable and a good deal for the price. The Chinese restaurant across the street has delicious inexpensive food and the hotel's breakfast buffet was elaborate and had hot food unlike many European hotels.

Very nice hotel

The hotel was great and very inviting......super clean and spacious. We were so impressed with the multiple electrical outlets. Breakfast was wonderful.

Asked for a wakeup call bit never got one. Reception staff stated they tried calling 3 times, and maybe I slept through it. Pretty sure the phone does not work. Only 6 stations on the TV. And can hear water in the pipes loudly every time someone flushes.

Friendly convenient hotel.

We have stayed in this Hotel 4 times now, and the staff / ownership always try their best to make our stay as good as possible. It is a little old, a little tired, but quite adequate and comfortable. The people make our stay good.

Staff was friendly

A bit far from FRA airport, we did have dinner down the street from hotel at an excellent Italian restaurant! Staff, especially Schuman, wete very friendly.

Beautiful surroundings right at the river!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful area next to the river and close to the castle, ideal for pleasant walks. Our room was clean, amenities were satisfactory (soap, hair dryer, towels), although the shower curtain was a bit grotty. The hotel staff spoke reasonably good German and English; they were very helpful and efficient. A surprise was the breakfast buffet, which boasted everything you could possibly want, including specialty coffees, cold meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, fruit, yogurt and juices, cereals and milk, as well as fresh buns and toast. A truly unexpected feast! For the price, the hotel is a great find and we would book there again.

Stayed just one night. Found this place based off of a search that included "free parking." It seems the free parking they're mentioning is driving around looking for street parking. Their parking lot is 10 euros. Despite this little, misleading detail, I enjoyed my stay. The beds were more comfortable than most of the other European hotels I stayed in. Breakfast wasn't bad. Staff was pretty good at English. Parking lot has surveillance.

a bad experience

I had booked a double bed room, prepaid, but on arrival they only had a single bed room. No refund or apology. Room was dirty, small, much like student accommodation in the 80's/90's. I won't be returning.

A bit shabby, but OK

Hotel is nothing special, a bit shabby interior and certainly it could be cheaper. The breakfast was good though and staff very nice. Very good and fast internet. Good if you need to spend a quick night or two in Frankfurt.

Fourteen day road trip.

The hotel was suffice for location as we were able to park the car and take the local subway metro and buses. Staff were very friendly and the rooms for a short stay were good during our fourteen day travel, we stayed in different locations which included Strasbourg France, Milan Italy, Geneva Switzerland, Paris France, Normandy France, Brussels Belgium, Wolfs-burg Germany finishing up in Frankfurt Germany to return home to Canada.

Although I have stayed here before I felt the price this year was too high for the facilities offered.

Dont forget your allergie meds

Rooms are pretty much out dated, carpets are old and dreary, bathroom tiles and shower tub old and broken. Rooms are rather dusty, not very suited for visitors with allergies, when i checked in to hotel an other customer was complaining about how dusty the room was and he had clearly an allergies attack ( felt pretty sorry for him) Hotel itself is in a great spot, and it would be a fabulous location if the rooms would be updated.

There cannot be anything worse than this.

Extremely old building that is not well maintained. My room had no lights other than one bedside light. Rooms are small, dinky and not well maintained. Doors and furniture are scratched badly and I would prefer Motel 6 to this. Floor squeaked all the time. The parking lot was small and I had to park mine blocking two other cars. Surrounding area is dirty and poor neighborhood. Only the good thing I can say was that breakfast had variety of meat/ham/sausage choices including smoked salmon.

OK for overnight stay

We stayed overnight while travelling by car in Germany. The town,, a suburb of Frankfurt is quiet and pleasant, the hotel overlooks the river and is good value. Wifi was good and breakfast ok. There are some good traditional beer restaurants in the town.

Corner Room

The corner room with the bay window was very nice, but the lights just inside the door didn't work and one side of the curtain between the bed & bay window was falling off. Other than maintenance, the room was interesting and the free breakfast & WiFi were a welcome change from other hotels that charge extra. The night clerk was very helpful and he answered our many questions, but the woman at the desk the next day was not as friendly.

The worst hotel I've stayed in they moved me 3 times 3 in 4 days no heating on in the rooms and you could not close shower door ! Plus it far away from city - need long walk and train and tram to get to show area

Not a good place to stay

Having arrived evening time in a place we have never been before, to find no tea or coffee facilities in room and door that says mini bar, but on opening there is nothing but a hole, a sign in lobby says they have a bar that opens till 11pm, only to find it closed, on asking at reception where we can get a hot, or even cold drink and being told, "I don't know", unacceptable. Heating in room could not be controld. Asking for a taxi to be ordered for airport, and they never ordered, not nice. Overall an unpleasant stay

It was next to great shopping and the river! what more could you ask for? We arrived directly from a 10 hour flight and were welcomed with open arms. Will stay there again. They were very helpful for my husband who is disabled. The front desk clerk practically carried him to our room and made certain her was well cared for. If you are disabled, this is the hotel for you! If not, it is still in a beautiful location and is very clean and comfy!

Great Hotel

Excellent Service Nice Rooms .. Very clean - beautiful location. We took a train downtown and arrived within 20 minutes + only a 10 minute drive to the airport .. Only downside was the thin walls .. We could hear our neighbour snoring. That's days something about either the walls or the neifhbour :)

Close to the airport, among 1way streets.

Hotel Hochster Hof was a satisfactory hotel. The room was large but dated and tired looking. Parking was limited and when we requested information regarding where we could leave our vehicle staff were aloof and very slow to help out. The women at the desk seemed somehow bothered by our registration and need for information. The room was clean, but the hallway seemed dark. The breakfast room was a pleasant surprise. Staff were attentive and prompt. The room was pleasant, clean and inviting. Staff kept replenishing the good and were eager to assist guests as needed. The food was fresh, plentiful and appetizing. Overall the Hotel Hochster Hof met our needs.

Stranded in Frankfurt

Due to Asiana plane crash and closure of San Francisco Airport. We were forced to stay in Frankfurt for extra days. Everything about the hotel was fine except for 2 things: NO air conditioning and it was HOT when we were there. Also, we changed rooms looking for more shaded room which we thought would have been cooler and neither room had a working refrigerator and they reported that they didn't have any extras. The breakfast buffet (included) was excellent and offered a bounty of selections. Also the neighborhood on the Main River offered walking paths along the river and a pedestrian-only street with shopping and cafes. A charming old German neighborhood.

Good Value

We were allowed to check in early and were well taken care of while we were there. Facilities were good.
