The room was very clean and well arranged even though small. But air conditioner had duct tape over the plug in so couldn't get it cool enough ti sleep. Bed not very comfortable. I could hear people visiting in the next room at 4 am and 6:30 am. While i was getting dressed the outsude door came open twice even though it was locked.

Michael was great to deal with, the room was spotless , hot shower and clean bathroom. It was everything i needed after a long day on the road. Excellent price i will stay their again if passing through.

Rhey put a lot of services in one room. Cache creek is not rhe most exciting place, but this is a good night stop.

Cute place to stay with lots of homey touches. Comfy bed, clean room, air purifier was nice. A bit noisy with the main highway right there and a lot of trucks using air brakes throughout the night. Other than that, it’s great. Would stay again- good value for the money.

Clean, friendly, affordable!

The host was amazing. He let us park our truck and trailer with our milk cow inside close to our room. This allowed us to care for her and keep her comfortable and relaxed during our stay. The host clearly carely cares anout the property and takes pride in the appearance. There were little extras like cookies in the room with your coffee supplies, and he provided a kettle for hot water upon request. There are flower boxes outside the room and he was sweeping the walkway when we arrived. The room was neat & clean, warm and comfortable when we checked in. I had a great sleep! We will be back!

PERFECT 👌

The place clean and had some utensils for cooking , asked about the hot water on first day water was Luke warm at best ,said he looked at it but nothing changed tried to blame it on the boiled water advisory, the temp of the gas nothing to do with that.

Had barely warm water to shower in for 8 days. 6 of us staying at the hotel complained and the guy said it was fine. Flimsy door handle lock only on the inside. (doors are hung upside down). No chain or deadbolt. Looks like a nice renovation but no GFI plug near the sink, staples left up in the floor, and watch for live mousetraps under the beds and near the cupboards.

there was a huge black widow like spider in the window area of bathroom - and freaked out my partner. Bathroom ventilator fan does not work at all. Room is compact and clean, bed is very comfy Host is peasant chap and easy to deal with

Michael was fantastic and assured me with a very late check in and made himself available even if I needed something in middle of the night. Very Friendly and room was very clean and presentable.

Smells like all they did was pour cleaner on the floor. Very, very dirty room. Loud.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room was well below expectations. Upon entering, I immediately noticed thick dust on the blinds and a spare blanket cover in something. The bathroom was particularly disappointing, with shower was dirty and what appeared to be grime on the fixtures and shower head was gross. Had a nice little kitchenette but the microwave was not cleaned inside. It was clear the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned, which made my stay uncomfortable. For the price I paid, I expected a much higher standard of hygiene.

Just by the highway, very convenient. Very helpful owner. Comfy bed. Great BBQ and hob area outside, owner kindly provided pans and plates etc for us to cook and eat. Definitely a good place to stay if you're driving through. Not a lot to do in the immediate area, but plenty of places to grab something to eat if you need to.

For a small motel it was so clean, new paint, bed spread, towels - quiet for being close to the main road and easy to find. Great staff that was extra friendly and willing to go the extra mile when we were very tired from travelling

Clean room great value

Room was very clean and tidy. This is an older Hotel but the room was great. The rooms are on the small side and the bathroom is exceptionally small, but we weren't looking for a sweet or anything like that. Perfect for an overnight if you're using Cache Creek as a stopping point

Reliable overnight with some changes

I have stayed at Sunset several times during the past nine years. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. Two new items are problematical. They added an internet TV system whose sound levels are awful (commercials far too loud) and an A/C unit free of language labels or commonly known symbols. Eventually I got the room comfortable.

Best shower on a whole road trip

The owner was so engaging and helpful, and the room was immaculate. But what clearly put this above the rest (and we've been on a very long road trip), is the Shower! That is the best water pressure and shower I've had all trip! Yes, the room might be small, but that shower! With that fridge, we were able to totally re-freeze everything in our cooler, too.

Stay was great and easy stuff was very helpful. there are some insects such as flies, but it doesn’t have to do with the cleanses of the room. It’s just the area has them so they come through the door when you go in, but it’s not a problem other than that everything was great and so you can wash things if needed, we enjoyed our stay.

The motel is just off Highway 1 coming into Cache Creek. It is an older motel but it's been updated and is quite nice in my opinion. A grocery store is across the street. If you're staying in town, be aware there are not many dining options, though everything is within walking distance. And the post office, if you need it, is sorta hard to access due to construction. The manager of the hotel is very nice; we had a nice chat about travelling.

When you are on a long road trip and you need a comfortable place to stay the night that is clean and the staff is friendly then this is the place to stay. I won't fool anyone by pretending this is a 5 star hotel, but what is available is clean and maintained well.

Roadside motel for last minute. I wouldn’t plan on staying here more than one night and as a last resort.

We decided to take an impromptu motorcycle ride, and decided to spend a night in Cache Creek. Our accommodations were clean, and we were upgraded to a “kitchenette” room. Would recommend a stay at the Sunset Motel!

Quiet place other than occassional rumble of trucks, number of food places and cafés nearby. Friendly staff. I would have liked more pillows, and some bit firm as opposed way to soft..

The motel was clean and tidy but had various flaws; the toilet was for childern as it was close to floor (hard to get up from) and the shower head - my spouse had to kneel down so he could get his head wet as it was also made for childern. There was no extra pillow or blanket in suit and the rooms were the smallest i have ever encountered making everything seem cluttered.

The hotel was well taken care of , the room was welcoming and comfortable.I enjoyed my stay a lot. Great service! I definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing spot. I stayed one night, the folks working the front desk were helpful and pleasant to deal with. Over the last ten years in my job I had to travel on short notice and stayed at a lot of hotels. The Sunset was so tidy inside and out. It's the small things that make a big difference. The hospital corners on the bed were tight( very good sign that the place is being cleaned properly) It has been updated recently. The bed was very comfortable. I am a side sleeper and need a softer bed, this one was perfect. My room had a small fridge with freezer, pod coffee maker, and bonus there were 2 packs of Dad's cookies(very nice touch). Very affordable, I would recommend it!!

Great for the price

We didn't have high hopes, but were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and seemed like it had been updated within the last year. The bathroom is small, but clean. If you're staying in Cache Creek I'd recommend this motel.

For an overnight stop on a long journey, I couldn't have asked for more. Yes it's a small room, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Old school road side motel but with clean laminate flooring and a cool retro bar fridge.

Stayed overnight and had a very pleasant surprise- room fairly small but spotless, comfy bed and very well equipped. Would definitely stay again on way through. Fantastic 50,s Diner just down the road.

We have stayed here a few times because it is reasonable, management is friendly and the rooms are renovated. It just needs a little more cleaning. ie, glassware, bathtub surround and taps, small things I know but it makes a difference. Dusty appliances. Extra comforter that we used needed a wash. But it is quiet, walking distance to everything you need and there a great coffee shop across the street. Although the hotel coffee was decent and they always give individual packets of Dad's cookies. A great touch! I am sure they will see us again :)

My second visit here and was as good as the first. Small but nicely appointed rooms. I had a mini kitchen area, desk and bed which was perfect for my work trip. Tv was good and WiFi worked well.

Lovey sunny exposure, enjoy sitting outside looking at the hills. 10 minute walk from a decent Chinese restaurant, good local pizza or fast food. Good coffee shop across the road ( not open sundays). Good place to stay on your way somewhere and friendly management.

We had a great time on our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and recently renovated. The kitchen was well set up, and perfect for traveling with little kids. The whole vibe of the motel was laid back and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!

Great value for a stop over. Compact room with Kitchette and comfy bed. Bathroom was a little dingy but water pressure was fantastic. Other guests visited outside after 10pm as it was hot but we were able to drown them out with a/c unit which worked beautifully. Would stay again passing through.

Super nice motel. Everything newly renovated and very clean. I would say the air conditioner was a bit loud, but it gets hot in Cache Creek, so the machine was working hard. Other than that, excellent.
