Buffet allowed for choices. Fun nights. There needs to be more maintenance checks so guests don't have to keep having maintenance people coming to the roo
Nothing
We felt very welcomed at Tamala, all the staff were friendly and obliging. Out room was spacious, with a swim up pool and ocean view. We stayed half-board, and although there was a buffet breakfast, for dinner our options were limited to the a menu at the bar, this was possibly due to us visiting in shoulder season, although this wasn't explained and had we know before arrival we may have chosen not go half board. Especially because one of us was a vegetarian so options really were very very limited, and often vegetarian items listed on the menu were not available at all, this was passable for a couple of nights but any longer and we wouldn't have had to go elsewhere.
This place is beautiful but I must warn you they have a rat 🐀 infestation. I saw many big rats eating leftovers from plates left outside guest doors. It horrified me going in out of my room. Even in broad daylight the rats 🐀 come out. Its too expensive of a hotel to have rats. I had one of the most expensive rooms a few months ago and the rats just T'd me off. The staff acts as if its normal and ok but its not.
Amazing pools
Front desk and service staff were wonderful
We had a wonderful stay, and wanted to stay an extra night but the front desk informed us that they were fully booked. We’ll definitely be back.
Very close to being perfect, but a few final touches are missing which prevents me giving 5 stars. Rooms were large with fantastic air conditioning, but everyone in our group experienced some minor issues including rain water flooding, broken windows or damage to walls and fittings. Nothing unsafe, nothing worth shouting about, but it prevents a perfect rating. Staff were friendly and spoke varying degrees of English, however restaurant service was slow and highly variable depending on your server! On the subject of the restaurant and bar, common items like diet coke were unavailable for my entire stay - again preventing 5 stars. That said the food that was available was decent enough and fairly priced. Reception were wonderful and I can't complain about anything there! The beach was accessible and felt safe, even going for an early morning run without any staff around. The pool was big and a very nice temperature, unfortunately one day it was covered in dead bugs which made swimming unpleasant and a regular net clean every few hours would make a huge difference, but was still enjoyable on the other days and probably would have been cleaned if I'd asked. WiFi was excellent. Housekeeping fantastic and thorough, even folding my dirty laundry I'd left on the floor! Overall a lovely stay, and so close to being amazing. All that said it's probably still the best in the area, having looked at others.
Beautiful resort with amazing views and access to the beach. Service was extraordinary!! Staff was proactive in reaching out to guests to make sure all needs were being met.
Beautiful place, will go back, but the restaurant needs to improve, the place deserves better. Thankfully there are other food options nearby via the beach.
I liked the big space the hotel is providing and the private swimming pool. However, the rooms and the gym needs serious renovations
The entire staff was amazing!!
What a Wonderful B-day Trip at Tamala Resort! Any issues that came up the staff was ready and willing to remedy. Lots of smiling faces ready to make your stay both pleasurable and memorable. My only complaint is that the rooms have no amenities and could be updated. With that information I believe your choice would still be a great one!
Great location right onnthe beach
Staff was amazing
Great stay
Little Paradise
This was a excellent place to stay no exaggerating I was very comfortable staff so professional an the food was outstanding so a great price for what they offer in return
When we arrived the electricity was down. It was off for during the whole night too.
The staff are the best to any place I ever stayed at .
It was noisy around the pool area they can do a better job cleaning the private pool area and benches
Aisha from California this hotel is wonderful and beautiful I really enjoyed my stay. I had the private pool suite and it was breathtaking. The food is good and the live band was amazing , the property is just perfect for any occasion.
Improve in your rooms cleaning
Perfect..
Staff very unprofessional. Management were very unhelpful. Stayed for 8 days, had a number of issues. Tv did not work. Phone in the room always down.
The bathroom was not clean and there was no electricity and water i had to checkout before my time and couldn't even take a shower the morning I left it was bad experience
Bad experience
Na
I love that it was entertainment after dinner. The staff was very friendly. The cleanliness of the room was not good, very dusty, had to request housekeeping for cleanliness my first day there and the shower was always cold. The pricing is overated. When its all inclusive I thought it was everything included. I was charged 600 dalasi for ice cream (room service).
I will definitely come back lovely hotel
Really nice stay! Great location!
Unique: proximity and view of the Ocean. The landscape. The pictures are true Good WiFi , back up generator really handy as we had frequent power outages (NAWEC still haven’t got their sh*t together. Business suffering as a result.) Staff is amazing. Quick check in process, actually had us in our rooms before checking time as we arrived early from a long tiresome flight. The rooms are spacious but not sure what happened with the doors, wall paint - poor workmanship I guess. Definitely not meeting the standards of a hotel of this class and price. Great stay overall
There were a number of employees at the hotel that did an exceptional job. Esmaila, Mamadou, Amadou, Mustafa, Abdou, Esa, and Edee all were so friendly and helpful.
terrible service
i wouldnt stay here again. terrible service.great view. great facilities. overpriced
Had an amazing restful stay just what I needed! The breakfast options are top notch!
Everything ❤️
We stayed here for our honeymoon-we are still here enjoying every last moment. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. The food is very nice, despite waiting a while for it come. Good selection for breakfast. We will definitely return.
Beautiful property with people! The best in Gambia!

The pool was great, and the food was awesome.
Very disappointing, could be great
The hotel could be great, but there is little maintenance on the property and in the rooms. The staff has very little enthusiasm to assist you. It is really a pity & shame as this could be a wonderful hotel to stay in. Having ants all over the floor in the gym, and you can see they have been there for ages, and black algae on the walls of the bathroom, just unacceptable.
Ocean and water view is to die for! Service is excellent, exceeds western standards. Will definitely come back if remains affordable
it is a nice place to stay, beach is amazing
Mixed feelings
After my stay at the Tamala I feel quite conflicted. I stayed earlier on in the year and had a great experience and this is why I booked it a second time. However, this time could be described as lacking lustre. Overall the staff are lovely and really helpful but there were a few things during my stay which were disappointing. Firstly, I paid for a sea view room with private pool. When I arrived the water was green, you could see algae at the side of the pool. After watching the same debris for a couple of days I mentioned to the reception desk that the pool was not clean. The following day it started to get some attention, but it took some time for the water to become cleaner. I just didn't want to risk it, so did not have use of the pool for the duration of my stay. The African BBQ was good and the Sunday buffet is fairly good value. You just need to arrive early, so you have access to a wider range of foods. The Fish market was not great although the concept is pretty cool. You are able to select fresh fish for the BBQ. What they fail to tell you is that you only get half of what you put in the basket and its disguised on your plate when they bring the food to you (I think...hoping you won't notice). The irony was that my partner and I (trying not to be greedy) selected a crab for us to share and we only ended up with half a crab between us. We complained and received what felt like a half hearted apology and solution.
Very clean and friendly staff
Great property. I’ll be back
Cosmetically l, I the resort is inviting, I modern and what you'd expect from a 4*
The main pool and private pool were nice. The food could be a little better. Water was not hot for the showers. Staff can be more accommodating
This property was amazing from the moment we stepped into it until the moment we left. The staff are all professional and go above to make you feel welcomed. There is nothing that they would not do. Very engaging and enjoyable stay. The fish dinner night, and Sunday brunch was great with lots of choices. Room was perfect with swim up a bonus. I have had the best time here and will definitely be returning. There were local shops along the strip and it was a pleasure to support them by buying some gifts to take home.
# one
My room was great. I had just come in from another hotel in Senegal and was so happy. I loved my room and the pool. I will get a pool with my room next time. Breakfast was outstanding and the check-in/out staff were great. I will tell my friends.
Great hotel with amazing service
This stay has exceeded all of our expectations. This wasn’t our first time in the Gambia, however first time in Tamala and it won’t be our last. Upon reading the reviews we opted for a swim up pool view room (gets more sun), however the sea view suites also had their charm! The room was always clean, very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had a huge selection, the pool bar/restaurant had a good choice of lunch/dinner foods also. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive. However within all of this we must single out Kawsu S who was excellent- at all times polite, courtious and with a smile on his face. He was always happy to cater to our needs however big or small. I have severe dietary requirements and he made countless journeys to and from the kitchen to ensure we were looked after. There were several taxis outside of the hotel to arrange trips and sightseeing with. We cannot wait to return!
I wish the staff would have been more helpful with their communication.
