Nice hotel and good services.

Decent stay at a mid range hotel

Despite ranking it 4*, I would call this a mid range hotel, but much better than many smaller options in the area. Location is good, less than 10 minutes walk inland from the Shuli pier. Even though it is a hot springs hotel, there is no outdoor hot springs. There is only hot springs water to fill up your private hot springs bath inside your room. There is a spa that costs extra, which I didn't try. Room is large, but overall a bit dated. Amenities wise, there is a tiny fitness room, but there are also majong and karaoke rooms that you can rent. Included breakfast selection was okay, with mostly Taiwanese breakfast items (few Western items).

Convenient location and good guest rooms

Convenient location and the in room hot spring is a big plus for our stay

Its was supposed to be a hot spring resort with private bathtub...but the whole room smells mold and in fact the tub itself had molds...the window blinds facing the window had a layer of molds. THE ROOM IS DEFINITELY HEALTH HAZARD.

Took an Expedia booking to get our 3rd night when desk said no vacancy. Check in at 3 but room was not ready until 4. Listing details mention laundry and cleaning/laundry 4 times but none available on site. Entire village shares 2 coin op machines 2 blocks away on street store front. On the plus side - deep soak bath in room was wonderful- bed better than most we have had in 2 weeks, generous breakfasts; great base near bus stop and ferry to other side of lake for gondolas up to aboriginal village museum at a huge amusement park, road and trail up Mount Maoli right above hotel provided great views of lake and mountains, tea research station first established by Japan in the ‘30s and birding as well as monkeys. Took high speed to Taichung then express shuttle to lake - taking bus directly back to Taipei in the morning.

Hot Spring spa right in the stay room

Staff was great! Helped us find our missing backpack on our way out. Very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Loved the mineral bath in the room and room was a lovely size!

Never location and room. Hated that there was no bathroom door.

This property needs renovations, and a deep clean.

Property was nice, great breakfast however pool and hot tubs had biting ants everywhere and was not enjoyable! Pool challenging to get in and out for people with leg issues.

Staff were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Gym yoga mat area needs to be cleaner, was dusty. Couch at the foot of bed was dirty looking with stains. Otherwise overall very clean, insuite bath was terrific.

Hot spring tub in every room is a king. Walking the Sun Moon Lake is very nice. Dinners were excellent. On other side the pool is a kids pool and breakfasts were Chinese food only.

Ok but won’t stay again

Location is very good, easy access to all the main attractions. Bed is very comfortable. The bath itself is connected to local hot spring water so it’s nice to have a bath after a long drive. Hotel facilities are a bit dated such as the gym. Swimming pool is not heated so not very child-friendly, but for adults it’s ok. On a hot day with 34 degrees Celsius, the not-heated-pool was closed for cleaning from 12pm to 3pm, which was a bit disappointing because it would’ve been nice to be in the pool on a hot day. Services weren’t great, especially the concierge team. We booked two rooms, the check in time was at 3pm so the reception told us to leave our luggage with the concierge. We gave the luggage to the team and informed them we’ve got two rooms, the team said we will just put everything in one room. We said well we travel as two families so we’ve got two rooms. They said yeah but easier for us to put everything in one room. Not great customer service but no problem we can sort out our own stuff. Dinner in the hotel is buffet style, lots of plant-based options. We tried to go there again on 2nd night, but a female reception staff gave us the wrong information, so in the end we realised we are not able to have dinner at the hotel, it would be good to speak with someone who can communicate more clearly in English as this is an international hotel with a lot of foreigners, that might help and avoid some of these misunderstanding situations.

Very comfortable stay in Sun Moon Lake near village. Walking distance to tourist bus and lots of restaurants. Kids loved the pool.

Room was nice and tub was big. Overall great stay. However, found a misquote in my room on day 1. Next day, my window was left open after the room cleaning so my son got bitten many times. 😨

Very Friendly

Friendly and helpful staff in this convenient location. However, the rooms and hallways are worn and are ready for renovation or a deep clean and repair. The AC is slow to cool. I did not use the pool or other facilities.

Loved everything. The only thing that was a bit weird to me was that the toilet and the room were only divided by a curtain. It certainly made the person who was using the toilet uncomfortable when there were other people in the room at the same time

Staff were super nice

Staffs are family. Property is a bit old, but clean.

Our staying experience was devastated by a single staff who appears to be very unfriendly. Before the second night, I went to the front desk and asked if they have any medication like Ibuprofen. There are two staffs there, and the younger one was trying to help me and understand my question. However, the older staff hijacked our conversations by saying that Ibuprofen is restricted drug in Taiwan and asked the younger staff to not get involved in this. The tone and the manner demonstrated by the older staff appear to me to be rude. I completely understand there maybe different local regulations on drug use, however, I was expecting better communication with respect, rather than being talked in an aggressive way like this. Later in the drug store, I found that ibuprofen can be easily purchased and is not restricted at all. Generally, as a guest, I do not feel welcomed in this property. This could be the only negative reviews I have left on Expedia after staying at many places.

Room is big. Staffs are friendly. Great breakfest. Tub is big. In room hot spring makes everything perfect.

Appalling Hotel Fundamentals - Cockroaches

1. Hotel rooms are dirty – 2 out of the 5 rooms we booked over 2 days had cockroaches and room surfaces generally look unclean. This wasn't isolated to one floor but spread across both the 6th Floor (discovered on 1st day) and 3rd floor (2nd night). What came across as extremely upsetting was that the immediate response from the hotel staff was that "we just deinfested the week before" and a compensatory bag of snacks were given as an apology on our check out. The hotel could have do much more to salvage the situation. 2. Restaurant toilet is dirty – There was motion in 2 out of 4 cubicles 3. Restaurant food is horrible. Example, sashimi has clearly been refrozen multiple times. It was so bad, we walked down to the nearby small mom & pop store to had much better, cleaner and more importantly fresher food. I wouldn't pay to stay in this hotel despite the wonderful onsen facilities. The basics are all wrong!

Good.

We went to this hotel a year ago (2021). The room was much better than the one we got this last time (2022). The carpet was old, it does not appear clean (the color appears to fade out). There was a hole in the carpet, someone smoked before in the room (#1505). The room itself smells somewhat cold cigarette smoke. The tube of the shower (attached to the bathtub) was damaged. The breakfast was below our expectation, rather standard, and no much of a choice if looking for a more western style breakfast. For instance the fried eggs were overcooked. The fruits selection was fine and fresh. We did not use the swimming pool (rainy day), but it appears fine and clean. Overall, it was rather a disappointment.

The location is good. Free parking and it is close to bus transfer station. Service and facilities are just standard.

The carpet is not clean and the bathroom got many moldy spots.

Nice hotel

it's a good hotel. the facilities are new and children-friendly. Every spot is within 10 minutes walking distance. Will definitely visit again.

Very relaxing Hotel located just off the lake but without a view of it. Rooms are very tasteful, large for Taiwan, and we loved the built in hot tub. After booking or hiking, the beautiful pool & outdoor hot tubs were wonderful. Only issues I had were limited staff at the front desk, meaning long wait time any time I had an issue or question. Surprised at checkin when we did not get vouchers for bikes, but that May have been an issue with online booking, not the hotel (just be careful of the details when you book). Breakfast is ok (for a westerner), but just ok. The Nescafé coffee machine is a disappointment.

A New Favorite

We got a complimentary room upgrade and loved it so much that in the future, I'm going to book that room.

Average experience at a higher price

Went for three days two nights. Took Dinner-Breakfast meal package. Overall was pleased but not "wowed" by the experience. Restaurant: Tasty food. Concepts of hygiene need improvement. Table settings for buffet on plastic weave place mats. Cutlery placed on placemats when the used dishes are removed by staff. (on a napkin would help hygiene to improve.) The thought that my cutlery that I am putting into my mouth is on a placemat that someone else's cutlery was previously place on was a little gross to think about. Room: comfortable, hot spring tub in room is nice but there is nothing unique that sets this hotel apart from other hot spring hotels in Taiwan--some of which are less expensive. Having seen the construction of the hotel and knowing its age, I was surprised to see mildew on the grout in the shower. Probably needs better staff training in the cleaning department.

Great relaxing and clean hotel

We enjoyed the big hot spring tub in our room. We had a problem with our lights turning on and off and the reception staff changed our lights immediately.

Very disappointing for the price we pay and it’s not the kind of hot spring hotel that we are looking for. This hotel needs renovations, especially the carpets are old and dirty patches everywhere. Standing shower leaks water because the glass door can’t close tight....

Unforgettably wonderful!

We went for our 5th anniversary. This was the best place we could have asked for. From the very time we arrived, we felt like special guests. The staff was incredible, they were available for our every need. The grounds were beautiful, the food wonderful and diverse, the location was perfect, and the rooms, public spaces, and amenities were better than we even expected. We spent 3 nights and could easily have stayed a week!

Nice stay

Nice location, good in-room facilities. But just would like to let readers know that the luxury room does not come with a "onsen tub" it is a normal bathtub, although with spring water. Was quite disappointed as it was the classic that had the tub (i think) :(

I had a wonderful stay at the Fuli resort. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I did not know that there would be no bus to take me back to Taichung from the lake on the Swim Carnival day and they found a solution that worked out great. Would go back anytime.

We booked a luxury double room and we've enjoyed our stay very much. The room was pretty large and with everything we expected. We really enjoyed the hot spring in our room and our rest through the night. The only little disappointments were that the weather was a bit chilly thus we couldn't use the outdoor swimming pools and some of the facilities in the room was not perfectly clean. But we would still give our stay at Fuli five stars.

Overall OK stay for a town with few options!

Resort is ok. Online I read there were many more water activities for children, which was not the case. Hotel has a good gaming/entertaining area which is good as nothing to do in the village post 6pm. It’s a ten minute walk to the lake and little to no food options at the resort. In the immediate area, there is a market but very little food options. Language a big issue and not the nicest people. Only The person running the entertainment/gaming section was very nice. Not good value for money.

Great destination for family vacation

Spacious room with great amenities for kids. The location of hotel is a bit further than the actual lake but nicely tugged away from the busy tourists. Breakfast included were phenomenal as well.

Overall performance of the hotel is not bad. However, the resort needs to improve the hygiene condition of the quilt in the bed which is smelly.

Unfriendly staff and cockroaches crawling in room.

During check-in, the staff were not friendly and certainly not welcoming. Most of the staff have a passive attitude that they do not want to help whatsoever. It seems that the staff also avoid to speak English with my non-mandarin speaking friend. The cleanliness of the room was average, with some minor stains in the room. However, later in the evening we found a BIG cockroach crawling into our room, which was shocking and unacceptable. The hotel has poor hygiene. Facilities are average. For the hotel-guests hot spring area, there are only a few small "hot spring pools" which can hardly fill a few people in. There is also a normal swimming pool next to it with an unfriendly staff standing there. Location of the hotel is good and the neighbourhood is also quiet and relaxing. However, poor service and cleaniness situation certainly deters me from visiting the hotel again.

Great respite, excellent for families.

Great spot. An easy walk up from the main bus stop and info center of Sun Moon Lake. The room was comfortable, clean and secure. We were housed in the 2nd building which contained a stone spa (not used), cafe (definitely used), and basement games rooms (seen being used).

The hotel had really nice amenities. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Breakfast had a good spread. Nice huge bath tub in each room. Walking distance to some shops and food establishments. Love this hotel!

A wonderful stay

Sun Moon Lake can be quite quiet after dark without much activities, Fuli Hot Spring Resort provides a play room with free games like table tennis, xbox, wii, pool, etc. Can spend hours in there, great for family bonding.

Private hot spring in the comfort of your room!

We stayed in a family room-it was extremely big-and the television shows are also very entertaining. The toilet is very big and had a hot spring, something other hotels do not commonly have. The wifi was pleasing too! The sofa cushions are also very soft. If we come to Taiwan again, we would definitely come back to this hotel!

Nice Hotel Closed to the Pier

Overall experience was good. Would prefer more dining options at the hotel's restaurant instead of set menu with limited selection of main courses. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of local & western options.

Amazing hotel room with great facilities. We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was just nice to set up the mood for couples. However, one thing that could be improved on is probably to provide or include in a shuttle service for guests. When we arrived at Taipei, we had to travel a few hours to the hotel and when we reached Sun Moon Lake stop, it was already drizzling. So we had to lug our luggage all the way to the hotel, which is not that far. But it was a rainy night and it had been a long and tiring journey, if a shuttle service was to be provided, it would make the whole trip less stressful.

Not worth the price to stay

Hotel room furnishings are quite old as compared to the website pictures, a bit disappointed. Tv remote no battery which have to call to request the reception to replace. Also, the spa services are not very good. They used few props when massage the body which one would expect is hand massage at a price of twd 2000.00 for one hour.

Simple and elegant hotel. A bit disappointed that the personal hot spring pool is only available in family room. Regular rooms come with a bathtub where the hot spring water tap is.

The location and offerings of this hotel is immaculate. Everything used in this hotel is top notch!! Room comfort, hotel decor, food selection....all incredibly awesome!! Highly recommended!! Close walk down the street to "city center".

9/23 入住第一天剛好遇到下大雨，住在第二館，從大廳辦好入住手續要走到二館而雨勢非常的大，很感謝有飯店服務人員幫忙拖行李到對面⋯但你卻把行李露在外面一路淋著雨到對面⋯看來這間飯店的員工訓練素質真的需要加強⋯

房間老舊、霉味很重

房間非常舊，地毯沒吸乾淨，而且床頭櫃下的插座無法使用。 我們是住兩張雙人床的房型，房內的廁所與床僅用窗簾區隔。今天不管是兩對情侶、四個朋友、還是家庭來住都非常尷尬且不便。 飯店提供的早餐以及晚餐品質都非常不優，一晚一萬元非常不值得。

服務很好，能立即協助處理問題，早餐豐盛。

We booked two rooms and had a good time here, even though the weather wasn't that nice. We couldn't get to try the swimming pool but we had much fun using the Hot Spring Spa inside the rooms. The hotel is not far from some restaurant and shops and it's perfect for a short walk! The staffs were very nice and were willing to help out. Breakfast was good. We will recommend friends and families the Fuli Hot Speing Hotel for sure!

Parfait endroit pour relaxer et 8 min de marche du lac et des restaurants et boutiques

入住櫃台的服務態度, 男士可給客人多一點微笑與協助, 室外泳池邊的溫泉區.. 水溫太低....意義不大....

晩餐和早餐物超所值

設備比較舊，房內雖有溫泉但我們的浴缸和一般家庭在用的一樣，太小不適合泡湯。晩餐和早餐物超所值。

Selection of food for dinner was great! At breakfast I missed more fruit selection (dinner was good) and for cereals they have the sugarized ones, no granola. But these are wishes at high end. The staff was very friendly! Thanks for the later check out approval!

房間面積寬敞，服務員態度友善。但本來打算環湖踏單車繞一圈30公里，早上出發，需時3、4小時，只因時間所限，酒店亦不能給予延遲退房，最後只好打消念頭，只能踏水上單車道，遺憾！

環境非常糟糕，泳池很多小蟲，非常可怕，加價晚餐buffet，選擇超少只有5道菜，被吃完也不會補，房間整潔度很低，棉被很薄晚上睡覺很冷，房間煙味很重，健身房煙味更重，跟飯店反應都沒有處理。

性價比高之温泉酒店

雖然缺乏湖景，但地點近公車站及水社中心點，可預約接駁車到公車站。工作人員服務優良，早餐一般但晚餐不俗，有房間內私人温泉。整體而言為性價比高之住宿

房間寬敞舒適，泡湯浴缸大小適中。服務人員態度親切，整體體驗良好。但租腳踏車2小時250元，對房客應有優待，否則使用率不高
