Falsely advertised as private
This property is falsely advertised as private. The posting states “You’ll have the entire apartment to yourself and only share it with other guests in your party.” It goes on to say “washers/dryers, refrigerators and microwaves are in all apartments.” Sounds great and is why we booked it. It was too good to be true. Those amenities are in a shared space and not private at all. The entire space is some sort of store/shop. There were items in our bedroom with price tags which made us wonder if people would be looking through that room when we weren’t there. More than once we were sitting outside and would watch people as they pass by stop and peer into our bedroom, I assume to look at merchandise. The property also advertises a garden area, which it has, but is also shared. We had a brief incident in the garden with another person staying at the property who didn’t take kindly to us being there. Seeing as this is more like a shared hostel rather than a hotel, this incident along with strangers trying to look into our room, made us feel unsafe and we decided to leave the very next morning. When we explained all of this in a refund request via hotels.com support, and emphasized how the property was incorrectly advertised as private, the response from the property owner denied our request because “everything is clear. The pictures the vintage industrial style.” No it is not clear otherwise we never would have booked this.
Converted studio pleasant stay
I had done my research before booking this room and knew what to expect. It's a converted studio in an antique shop. Because of that, there is no sound proofing and you can hear everything. It was quiet after 9PM but ear plugs and an eye mask is a must if you are a light sleeper like me and don't want to be disturbed by those waking up at 5AM to use the kitchen. The studio itself is big and comfy.
