Just what I expected

There was a lot of litter in the surrounding area, that no doubt would end up in the sea, harming wildlife

Wifi was very poor, food is of average quality and drinks selection limited re: wine etc. Positives: the bay & sea are lovely, try to have a room facing the sea. Staff always willing to help! For us it was just too big, too many people and not a 5* surrounding. Just personal preference!

Love the adults only feature, loved the activities provided and amenities

This resort feels like a German retirement community and is tailored to a 60+ age clientele. Anyone younger than 45 should avoid it completely.

Having been here five times I am afraid it has sadly gone down hill.First went in 2007,it was fantastic.My main complaint is that the food is not as good as it was,or the choice.It pains me to say that as we were half board we were harassed by certain managers to the point of feeling very uncomfortable. If you want front row on the beach you have to reserve your beds by the latest 7.30 even though its not allowed. Won't be going back.

Great place for a superb Christmas/family event

We stayed during Christmas 2012 with our adult children on half board basis (NB: there are few, if any, restaurants outside of the hotel complex). The hotel and its food were superb and the beach and sea at 21C offered amazing swimming and snorkelling. There was a host of recreational activities to suit all ages and levels of activity (many free, but some chargeable but not in local currency - usually Euros). The hotel had gone out of its way for its clients to celebrate Christmas - at our Christmas eve dinner we were offered no less than 60x different desserts - some gala dinner this was. We will definately return. Note that the hotel is not at Marsa Alam town which is about 65 Kms south of the hotel; although Marsa Alam airport is about 5 Kms south of the hotel. The hotel's web site is not that clear precisely where the hotel is located and Google Maps at times confuses the location of the Lamaya and Coraya hotels. The Iberotel Coraya Beach hotel is in fact at 25.604931,34.60395 (Lat/longs). This information is important as the local taxi prices are extortionate for such short journeys and the hotel mini bus is even more expensive at 40 Euros for each journey to/from the airport. Fortunately, one of our sons lives in Cairo and was able to arrange a much cheaper taxi. In fairness this is the only negative that we experienced and one which the hotel should consider changing to attract independent overseas visitors. Overall, a superb hotel and resort to spend Christmas.

A hotel to enjoy a laid back holiday

It did not start well being a 5 star hotel, asking us to go out to the front of the hotel to place stickers on our luggage with the room number! the room with a sea view (paid for) was a room with an overgrown garden and more like the bush! next day the gardeners were at work, still not much of the sea was seen. The buffet food was too bland and tastless, the only dinner enjoyed was the weekly "Gala Dinner" which an effort was made. I spoke to the sue chief togther with the F&B manager who were very plesant and assured me of improvements. The rest of the staff were wounderful & eager to please.The hotel is a 3/4 star hotel and not 5 as claimed. They have a lot going for them, but needs a bit of vision.

The front desk staff and reservation personnel (Khaled) were very unfriendly and uncooperative.

Would go there again

We stayed in Marsa Alam for the diving and stayed at this hotel for the reviews. We were glad we stayed here. The Staff is really helpful and the property is beautiful. It is just a short 10 min walk to the dive center, or you can take their free transfers. Book the dives in advance! We didn't book one of the dives in advance and were not able to go to the Dolphin House. However, we went to another spot for Dolphins and swam with a pod of 9 wild dolphins, one was a baby. We swam with them for about an hour then we were too tired and returned to the boat. The dive site was Shaab Marsa Alam. The food was good and had a large selection. We did get sick from the food in Egypt as a whole, but we ate outside of the hotel as well. There is a pharmacy close by that has medication that helped fast. If you plan on going to Luxor, book with the hotel. We arranged it with a another tour company who woke us up twice for our passport and were not able to get us through the check points and so just didn't pick us up at 5 am. We are from the US which is part of the problem. But, that was our last full day there, so we never made it to Luxor. The hotel could have arranged something for us if we told them a day in advance. Maybe next time.

Das Coraya ist wirklich ein sehr gutes Hotel. Das Essen und auch die Getränke sind sehr gut und wir hatten nie Probleme. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber und die Mitarbeiter*innen geben sich sehr Mühe beim Zimmer putzen und machen tolle Figuren auf dem Bett. Die Rezeption ist immer erreichbar und hilft bei allen möglichen Probleme . Wirklich sehr toll!

Struttura bellissima, perfetta per viaggiatori in coppia, non ci sono bambini. L'accoglienza è perfetta, personale eccellente, Ina manager bravissima, risolve problemi, come il bigliardino rotto e aggiustato in una sera, tra i camerieri il mitico Mohamed Abbas gentilissimo in tutto. La barriera corallina della laguna fino al pontile intatta pieno di pesci colorati che ti nuotano vicini. Il mangiare è eccellente, grande varietà di cibo Serate di musica molto carine e coinvolgenti Super consigliato

Schöne Anlage. Personal sehr freundlich familiär. Essen gut wenig veränderung eintönig. Unterhaltung Animation gut. SPA sehr angenehm.

La chambre 1103 proposée ne correspondait à notre attente et probablement pas au standard hotel.com : petite fenêtre donnant sur la mer, terrasse entre deux bâtiments en plein courant d'air La chambre 1206 proposée en rez avec terrasse vue sur la mer nous a donné satisfaction mais moyennant un versement de 420€ en liquide Sinon travaux très bruyants pendant 3 semaines: polissage des frontons rendant impossible de rester au bord de la grande piscine puis de la plage Un jour un ouvrier est venu percer des planches dans la salle du fitness

Merveilleux séjour

Nous avons passé 15 jours ici et avons regretté de ne pas rester une semaine de plus ! Magnifique hôtel dans un jardin merveilleux, grandes chambres très élégantes et confortables, service de nettoyage parfait. Buffets très variés et délicieux avec du vrai jus de fruits et de l'excellent café. Personnel extrêmement cordial parlant plutôt l'allemand que l'anglais et presque pas le français. Piscines très bien un peu fraîches en cette saison, beaucoup de transats. Proximité de l'aéroport appréciable, Wi-Fi gratuit pas très performant, une seule chaîne en français TV5 monde.

Non e' assolutamemte 5 stelle, le camere hanno un arredamento molto vecchio,i tappeti e le tende sono molto sporchi, i cuscini puzzano, la mattina e' tutto un correre x accaparrarsi i lettini in prima fila in spiaggia barriera inesistente escursioni non interessanti (sono anni che vengo qui a marsa x la barriera)....si mangia bene tenuto conto che siamo in egitto....il personale e'fantastico sempre gentile e sorridente e poi e' predominio di turisti tedeschi abbastanza arroganti

Udmærket hotel til prisen med god service. Profilerer sig som 5 stjernet, men det er (som generelt i Egypten) svært at se hvor den sidste stjerne kommer fra.

hotel per soli adulti frequentato prevalentemente da persone over 40 ideale per relax. facile l'accesso alla spiaggia privata in una bella baia riparata dal vento anche a Gennaio! Cibo di qualità, servizi dell'albergo buoni con palestra (piccola) e WiFi da migliorare, transfer da e verso aeroporto (20€ per 4km mi sembrano eccessivi)

Ferien in schönem Strandhotel

Relativ grosses Hotel, architektonisch ansprechend gestaltet mit sehr schön angelegtem Gartenbereich. Grosse Pools mit genügend Liegen. Essen ausgesprochen reich und vielseitig. Service ausgezeichnet. Preise für alkoholische und nicht-alkoholische Getränke in moderatem Rahmen. Strandbereich relativ gross aber auch viele Liegen aufgestellt. Schnorcheln möglich aber Wasser je nach Wind und Wellen nicht so klar.

Rundum zufrieden. Durch die Lage des Hotels ist ein wichtiger Vorteil des Hotels für Schnorchler gegeben: Die häufig auftretenden starken Winde aus NW-Richtungen,die in der Regel die rote Flagge für alle Schwimmer und Schnorchler am Außenriff bedeuten,können in der großen Bucht niemanden beeinträchtigen.

good for relax but need to check some employees

The respect of other people, typical of the German culture of the customers, makes this place very good for relax. In the diving center one egyptian guide did not respect me and other customers, ruining 2 of the 7 days. About this, the 2 managers of the center did not had the necessary empathy with me. All the others egyptian guides were good. At the reception they are too stressed but lots of people are very nice. One day was not lucky for see particular fish, but the presence of one woman of the reception and one girl instructor, champion of natural empathy, makes this day one of the best holiday in my life. Places are wonderful places, luck to find fish is luck, people makes the difference.

Eine super Hotel! Zum Schnorcheln kann es Sinn machen zum Nachbarhotel zu laufen. Am Strand könnte ich Delfine in der Brandung beobachten. Für uns war es eine sehr ruhige Woche mit Sport und Lesen.

Grazioso albergo che confina con la baia.

È una soluzione ideale per rompere la monotonia dell'inverno europeo da metà febbraio a metà marzo: Sole, piscine, di cui una riscaldata, in riva al Mar Rosso. Ottima struttura alberghiera, servizio e personale eccellente, Buffet e Barbeque da sogno, per tutti i gusti ed esigenze, vegeteriani compresi. Siamo dispostissimi a ritornare, e comunque riteniamo che sia da consigliare a chi cerca un periodo di pace e serenità, lontano dal trambusto cittadino o delle spiagge affollate.

Il " viaggio perfetto "!

Dopo alcuni anni abbiamo trovato l'albergo rinnovato, estremamente curato nei minimi dettagli. Un piacere per gli occhi ed una soddisfazione nell'utilizzo dei relativi servizi. Uno standard molto alto, le aspettative non rimangono deluse. Abbiamo viaggiato con Neos in perfetto orario sia all'andata che al ritorno. Volo comodo, pasti discreti, personale gentile. Non abbiamo avuto il minimo intoppo o problema. Ci sembrava un sogno....! Grazie a tutti

Leider ist die Internetverbindung miserabel, quasi inexistent. Hier bestände noch verbesserungspotential. Ich hoffe, wenn wir das nächste mal, das werden wir sicher, hier einchecken, sich in dieser beziehung etwas verändert hat. Dann gäbe es nichts mehr zu bemängeln.
