It was good value for money. It was very basic and small. But it was perfect for what we needed. Room was clean, bed was okay but could be more comfortable. Bathroom very small, but good pressure. Desk for make-up. Only downside, no lift and two floors.
Good value, clean room. Bed a bit small but fine for one night. Easy walk to city centre. Parking convenient.
Exactly what we needed for the night to go to a gig at Albert Hall
Pretty average considering the location on the outskirts of the city centre, a few minutes away from all the city has to offer. A fair bit of noise from traffic, sirens etc. The entrance is down a side street off a busy carriageway. At first a little impersonal, rather like walking into a post office, but I suppose the strengthened glass enclosure affords a little security to the staff should it be required. Travelling alone, my room was on the 2nd floor, accessable by stairs. Not the best of views from the window. Looked out over the car park and some sort of compound, but I was only there for one night. Everything was compact. The shower /sink / toilet room was quite tiny. Wouldnt suit a larger person. The small TV is fitted on an adjustable wall bracket. It has to be switched on by a switch on the TV set before you can use the remote and when first switched on, reception looks poor (pixellating) but this settles to decent reception after a minute or so. The TV switches off automatically at midnight. Furnishings are designed without doors or drawers, but there is enough room to store your clothing and other goods neatly. Just plain decor on walls and ceiling with a couple of mirrors and a portrait, but all clean and tidy looking. The kettle was in a quite new condition and there were tea bags (Yorkshire), coffee sachets (nescafe) milk pots and sugar and more were available downstairs in the bar / restraunt area if required. The bed was very comfortable.
Great value for money (£47.5 per night), but the reception staff were not as friendly as you’d expect.
Convenient and workingEV car charger right outside
24 x 7 check in, 10kw charger for EV cost £30 for nearly 300 miles in 5 hours, convenient walk to Manchester Arena, quiet.
Rooms were old, and smelled cold tabbacco. We asked for another room which smelled even worse, chemicals... Staff only hardly speaks English or at least pretends so.. parking the car is an additional 9 pound to be paid to another company, etc...etc.. the stay was absolutely NOT worth the money...my subjective advise... Avoid
Check in was awkward as the person checking is in didn’t seem to understand English very well & even though I spelt out my name he still got it wrong & couldn’t find booking , we had to wait for manager to come and sort it ! Doors are very loud when closing so all night was doors banging , bedding is too heavy , a duvet would be better than a heavy bed spread , ok for the price
They have allowed people to park in disabled parking spaces without displaying a badge
I found the atmosphere comfortable and relaxed, it seemed very good in terms of general cleanliness, the room was a decent size and well laid out and for me it was in a convenient location with the AO arena about 10 mins walk away and pubs/places to eat within a similar distance. My only minor criticisms of the room itself is the bathroom felt just a tad cramped and the room probably could've been a bit better ventilated - there was only a small window in the corner which could only be opened slightly. The weather wasn't hot so it wasn't a significant issue but I found the room could get a little bit warm. I would also recommend eating and drinking out really rather than in the hotel itself, though I only had the breakfast one morning and not an evening meal but it was £11.95 for a full english (if you just want cereal, etc then that's complimentary) and what you got was relatively small for the price and the bar doesn't offer the best selection or value either so eating and drinking in the hotel is OK in an 'emergency' I would say but if you have the time there are better options within a 10 minute walk. Overall though this worked fine for me and generally the hotel ticked all the boxes I was looking for and I will likely stay there again in future, having a bit more knowledge of the local area.
Cheap hotel within walking distance of the city. The bed was comfortable enough the bathroom wasnt big enough to dry in but did the job.Staff were mostly friendly.
Handy for going to AO arena, walkable. Couple of pubs very close. Lots of pubs and restaurants within 15 minutes or so. Staff were very helpful. Room clean, but very tired. Carpet and curtains were threadbare. The smallest bathroom I have ever seen!! Lots of lovely hot water, but a tiny room!! I had to dry myself in the bedroom, no room in the shower room! Tea and coffee facilities… 2 tea bags, 2 milk. Mugs not washed or replaced with clean ones when room cleaned. Could be outstanding because of its proximity to everything.
Ideal location for the AO Arena, with very comparative prices. Secure parking on site - chargeable.
Definitely got my moneys worth
Very nice little room, probably would have enjoyed it more had it not been for the late night, shower very powerful which is a plus.
Helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Tea, Coffee and toiletries supplied in room. TV reception was fine, but internet bandwidth was poor, so TV apps kept dropping out. The hotel is well situated for Salford University, Peel Park and the river Irwell.
Good stay. Quiet easy to walk to the city centre
good value for money, staff were very friendly, bed comfortable
Good location
Staff were friendly.Room was small but clean with a nice enough view. Kettle, tea & coffee, hairdryer & towels provided. We had a nice breakfast in the morning which we paid extra for. Just to make people aware, when we checked in I was asked for ID which luckily I had on me. I hadn’t been aware of this as I’ve never had it asked before, they also took credit/debit card details. Good location for AO arena. We went to the Emirates cricket ground with cost £12 in an uber. Would stay here again.
Great for a overnight stop
The staff were friendly the room was clean the shower was good but a bit small for my hut as he is 6ft 5in
Manchester stop
The bathroom area is so small you have to come back into the bedroom to turn around. The pipe work was making gurgling noises throughout the night The noise was from the corridor was bad throughout the night doors were banging people laughing and joking at 2.00am The bed was very small and uncomfortable etc. Overall NOT a very nice experience.
Great stay, would stay again the future
Everyone was very helpful, and a nice easy walk to transportation and city center.
Excellent and would definitely stay again. The only downside was the parking. We paid in advance for 2 spaces but these werent reserved and could only park if a space became free
It was an ideal hotel for the AO Arena
Nice stay
Very convenient place to spend time in Manchester. Friendly reception staff and comfortable room.
Made a mistake by clicking wrong button, and wanted to pay before arrival, online chats cancelled the booking and told me to rebook. Rebooked and when i got their, they disregarded my booking and had to pay again.
Be careful for bedbugs at room 3!!
Got bitten by bedbug at room number 3 last night.
Great place for a night, rooms are a little on the small size but very clean and nice staff
Old hotel - old bedspreads -room was freezing - hidden fees with parking and charging station
Close to the Arena
Very good location. Just a short walk to AO Arena. Have to pay for parking at hotel but is is fairly reasonable.
Excellent for the price!
The staff are very helpful & friendly! Although the hotel is located on a very busy street, it’s still very quiet. So I do believe that it was built well. You do not hear your neighbors. The room is very spacious as is the bathroom. It was quite comfortable. I found out that I was staying in a not so great area, but I did not have any issues at all and felt very safe here.
Don’t stay!!
Absolutely disgusting, our room had bugs all over the white bedding! Looked like bed bugs, We had a family room and the sofa bed felt so hard bathroom was really small.
It’s okay, not brilliant
The room was okay, unfortunately the door needed locking with the key when you leave, and no one explained this, so my room was unlocked for a whole day with mice belongings in there. The bathroom that is set up for people with disabilities doesn’t take into consideration inside the bath. There is one grub rail and it is too low, very close To the bath useful for if you’re getting out, but if you’re stood taking a shower that same grab rail is no use. I would recommend a rail that is vertical so that someone like myself disabled but 6‘4“ tall still has somewhere to hold onto.
The staff were very polite and friendly. The room was very small and the en-suite was tiny. Beds really uncomfortable. Also the room was cold even with the heater on.
Great location, reasonable price
Fantastic location to visit AO arena. Warm and helpful welcome. Room functional but cosy and clean. Beds a little too firm for our liking but overall happy and would stay again.
Could be improved
Varying price for parking, collague paid through the desk, I paid using the machine after being informed by the desk and mine was charged at nearly twice as much for the same length of stay. Woken up most nights due to people talking in the corridoors at night around 0130-0330
Booked as a cheap option while working in Manchester for a couple of nights and didn’t expect too much (although review ratings were pretty good). Hotel was clean, quiet and staff were very helpful and friendly. If you’re looking for upmarket then it’s not for you but if you want somewhere comfortable to sleep then it’s perfect! 10 minutes to the convention centre and a fraction of the cost of hotels in the area.
It is horrible , no lift , no toothpaste , no shampoo , no lock on the door and even no transportation to there
Nice and warm only thing was drunk people being sick in the room by mine and smoke alarm went off 1 o’clock in the morning and doors banging the bedding was a bit heavy
Apart from someone phoning me up about my room saying it might not be available in a very ride manner it was ok . Someone set the fire alarm off at 0930 for a laugh
Good size clean rooms with coffee and tea in room, limited menu in bar but sufficient after a days work.
great place
Loved our stay, staff were lovely and efficient, only thing I would say is the staff had too much to do running both the reception and the kitchen but the food was lovely and hot
Had a lovely stay the only issues was breakfast the Veggie breakfast was disappointing for the price £11.95 and over cooked apart from that it’s a nice place to stay…
Bed to small and rock hard. Shower/ toilet, far to small. Breafast was far to itemised. Not even close to a Premier Inn, for more or less the same price.
Lovely staff and brilliant prices. Room was clean and facilities were amazing
The check in process was pathetic. The card machine wasn’t working and I was made to feel like it was my fault. It took 20 minutes. Shocking!
Ideal location for a gig at the AO Arena
Ideal hotel if you want somewhere cheap to get your head down after a gig at the AO Arena. Comfy bed, small, quiet hotel and less than 10 min walk to the arena and train station.
The hotel is priced because it’s within walking distance to the AO arena so that’s a positive The hotel is surrounded by high rise flats that’s got some very shady folk in them , I walked out the car park to see a full on drug deal , then again later on , I didn’t feel safe at all. The rooms are very small and the bathroom is so tiny you can hardly turn around in the shower, the staff do their best but I wouldn’t recommend it .
The room is too small, amenities is insufficient, toilet too small, insufficient space putting luggage, the room’s overall condition is poor. Will not return and recommend to anyone.
You get what you pay for
We requested a twin room (2 beds) which were on the 1st floor with no elevator (we are in our 70's). How ever they did offer us a ground floor double. Already unpacked we did not want to change rooms at 9:30 pm. The shower was broken and would have flooded the room if I had not noticed while my hubby was in the shower. The beds were like sleeping on a HARD floor and the pillow (1 each) were as flat as a pancake. But, I guess that is what you could expect for the price in that location.
Staff were rude, simple as that.
Great as usual
Easy and fast check in, great room, staff super helpful
Rooms are small, bathroom very small. Room clean with extra pillows blankets available.
Decent, but nothing particularly special
Staff were lovely and the room was pretty grand. I like that the reception is 24/7. It wasn’t particularly modern nor did it have any stand out wow-factors. Price was also quite reasonable. I’d recommend staying here if you’re just looking for somewhere nice to stay and set up base camp. If you’re specifically looking for a premium hotel experience, maybe look elsewhere.
Very good stay, staff could not do enough for me thanks
Low down on stay
Went to the arena for a concert, was within walking distance handy for the centre for shopping room was basic but that's fine staff very pleasant and helpful, not a great menu but food cooked to order scampi was passable breakfast looked very good if your coming to Manchester for a few days then yes stop here 👍
Great location. Five minute walk to AO Arena and city centre. Quiet location. Clean and comfortable
Over night stay inn
Rooms, clean and adequate, everything in there you need. Blanket on the bed was heavy, glad they had a sheet, could do with a light quilt. Good value for the money. Breakfast nice, they just don't cater for gluten free.
Reasonable hotel
It was a good hotel to put your head down but the walls were thin. Bathroom was small. Didn’t appreciate getting woken up at 640am by blokes shouting in their rooms and in the corridors.
Concert Stay
Booked in with my daughter to stay following a concert at the AO, arena good price for hotel within walking distance to the arena
Prisoners in prison have better facilities than staying at this venue. I almost felt I was being punished when we stepped foot in our room. Basic beyond belief but I guess the whole ‘you get what you pay for springs to mind.’ If you want any sleep at all then book elsewhere. The hollow cotton bags given to us as pillows were perhaps better suited to wiping the patches and stains off the floor. The sheet classed as a ‘duvet’ was thinner than my levels of tolerance for this place. Do yourself a favour and spend that additional £20 elsewhere so you are able to sleep.
Very nice
Everything was fine especially having the restaurant and bar on site. Very helpful staff. Only thing is the pillows, I like a hard one and they didn’t seem to have any. Still managed to sleep though
Great budget hotel
Stayed here as it was close to AO arena about a 10 minute walk. Room was small but had everything we needed. Lovely clean sheets and towels, tea and coffee making facilities and free WiFi. Staff were really friendly and we had full english breakfast in the morning with unlimited tea coffee toast etc for £8. This is a great budget hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who is going to a show or concert at the arena. Great value!!
It was a comfortable room & clean
Great hotel within easy walking distance of centre
Great stay, cheap and cheerful - couldn't ask for more! Walk was a lot shorter than I'd imagined to Manchester Centre. Definitely will be returning when we need to stay in Manchester!
Good hassle free hotel
Good value close to city center
Good value hotel near to the city center. Disappointed in the quality of pillows , only 2 for a double bed and they were very flimsy also there was only 1 tea bag with 2 different sized mugs
super league final visit 2nd time
could not find my friends reservation took absolutely ages to book in place looked in need of an upgrade but staff were very good and made us feel welcome
Look for a STAY INN when on a Tight Budget
In the the first room we were allocated the shower toilet extract fan and shaver point did not work also the T.V set was out of action. In fairness to them they changed our room promptly with no quibble. The only problem was the Bed Mattress was totally hard and not at all comfortable in both of the rooms we stayed in resulting in stiff back and restless sleep pattern.. Regarding the staff they were a credit to the STAY INN and very helpfull in every way The Breakfasts were good value for money and well cooked.
Good location on main routes.
Nice place for a short stay
The hotel was ideally situated just outside the city centre, but within a 10 minute walk of the Arndale Centre. The room was big and the bed comfortable. No lift. Was given a parking permit to park onsite.
functional
very small room, tiny bathroom, carpet needs a good clean, the internet connection is incredibly slow and there are constant outages, the TV packed up after half an hour and could only be switched off through the plug. There is good insulation though, so there is no traffic noise and there was a fan in the room, brilliant as it was very hot despite the dull evening. Parking was plentiful.
Great place to stop for the city centre.
Our stay was great the room and Hotel was spotless, the staff are friendly and helpful. We awoke on Sunday morning to find that the cold water was off in our room and the staff were so apologetic and got us another room on a different floor were the water was ok immediately. You cant ask for better service than that. The location is great for the centre. What more could you ask for.
Great place - would stay again
The stay was great. Local to the city centre. Free parking was a great perk. Easy to get in and out at night as well. Couldn’t have faulted anything. Only annoying factor was that we couldn’t work the heater so room was a little chilly in the mornings.
It doesn't have to be 5 star tobe a good hotel
Nice Hotel would definitely stop here again close to centre and free parking its a no Brainer
great basic stay
Great price. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean rooms but needs a lick of paint! No complaints as price great
Generally pleasant . Quiet. Matress was hard and no ironing board available.
Not for us
Check in was ok, staff nice. Room bit grubby and in need of refurb. Far too noisy for us, we left at 11.30pm as was obvious we would get no sleep, doors banging, groups of men shouting, couples arguing
Breakfast was a bit overpriced, and dinner options limited. Hit the spot, though - nice and convenient for a business trip to the city.
Disappointing
A rather tired budget hotel. It needs money spent on it to compare to other budget hotels. A lift and a key system post-1980 would be a start. I have stayed in worse (though not often). However, it was overpriced for what it was.
Nice hotel but tiny room
Nice hotel, friendly staff, and clean....but the room was tiny.
Great place to stay, very helpful staff
Would stay again for weekend city break
Staff are friendly and very efficient. Great location for city center and arena.
Tiny room
Room too small needs updating
Good value hotel
Nice and clean, few minutes walk from centre. Definitely return.
Good hotel for short stay
Overall a good hotel if stopping one night. A few things could be improved like the pillows, size of bed and bathroom.
Close to where I was working
Good for visit to Manchester Arena. 10-15 min walk away with free parking. Travelodge looks too close and too rammed! Breakfast tidy.
Fine for short stays
Good hotel for short stay. Fairly basic but clean comfortable room. I like to have tea and coffee in the room and it was included.
Excellent location for central manchester and the manchester arena. Accommodation clean but basic. Having a car park made this the ideal location.
Good city location
Convenient location for walking into the city centre & Manchester Arena. Free parking. Staff very friendly, efficient and welcoming. Rooms small but clean and comfortable.
Best value to be close to the action
Fantastic, good parking, friendly staff, easy to see/find, good room, only 10 min walk to center.
Great location only 10 mins walk from Centre. Room was basic but clean.
Good hotel for an overnight stay in Manchester. Nothing flashy but a reasonable price close to Dukes 92 which was our reason for being in Manchester for the night
Wouldn’t stay here again.
Your told to leave you key at the front desk, which I did. They then loose the key and blame you for loosing it when you were out. I was let into my room, I was concerned if my laptop would still be there, in case my key was given to someone else. I was then told that I would need to pay for it in the morning as somebody needs to pay for it. As they’ve looked and will likely not find it. In the morning they had found the key and didn’t even apologies. Over the past 2 months I have stayed in 4 other hotels around Manchester for work. This is the only one I wouldn’t use again. Toilet is extremely cramped and TV is very small. The Beds are ok. Not thing really that I seen in the surrounding area. Thought walking distance to the Manchester Arena.
It was like staying in a hostel. Never ever will I stay here again.
Location is perfect for all amenities wither shopping or having fun. Always enjoyed staying at the hotel friendly and helpful staff.
It was in a great location with regards to shopping
Good
The staff is helpful. The room is clean. However, the double room is a little bit small for those who got large luggage.
Worst hostel ive stayed in
Place was mouldy walls and carpets dust and spider webs everywhere hasnt been cleaned in months avoid
