Our stay was fine. Yes, the property is in need of a refurb but it served our purposes of a cheap overnight stay.
Okay value for money
Nice to get a free upgrade to a larger room. As with all hotels on this road, you can hear and feel the underground go past. Room was okay. Don't expect much from the breakfast (a carton of juice, yoghurt and flapjacks), but it's better than nothing. If you have time, there's plenty of places nearby to get food.
It was a good stay.
Cheap budget hotel
.
It was okay as I keep asking staff to refill milk but housekeeping never refill as there was a issue with hot water during my stay but overall staff was helpful
There was no continental breakfast, yet a snack box. The hotel needs work done but the bed was comfortable. The coffee/tea and big towels were nice touches.
Get what you pay for
The hotelis right above the the tube line . It was very loud . Felt likr the hotel was shaking . None stop from 5am till aftet 11pm .
My stay at St George was excellent. Perfect place to get around London. Would definitely stay again.
Could do with modernisation, but if you want somewhere close to Paddington it’s cheap & cheerful
This hotel is extremely poor and not worth a single penny or a worth in your time. I am going to list the reasons why and also the reasons why that same day I decided to check out early and leave the key at the door - Hygiene - Extremely poor, rooms are crumbling apart and fixed with puttey, hairs still in the grills of the shower and mould everywhere you look. Within the first 3 hours I was bitten by what I assume is bedbugs and that’s when me and my partner decided to pack up and leave. - Room - Room was a mess and got given a thin blanket on the top floor with thin walls and thin windows. It was unhygienic, mouldy and falling apart for the price of £56 it was a rip off and I admit that I didn’t read the reviews beforehand but this was beyond digusting and should be shut down for good. (They have a non refund policy so good luck getting your money back) - Stairs, we had to climb Everest twice to climb those stairs and it was stupid absolutely stupid we were in room 19 and it was at the top floor and honestly it was the hardest job ever and do not recommend if you have suitcases or luggage - Customer service, was very very brief and was very awkward and I would be when you are crammed in a room smaller than a janitorial cupboard. Overall out of 10 I would give this a 0/10 waste of time and money and don’t recommend going to this place like ever only would go for the surrounding area. Note: left 3 hours after booking in and went to a local premier inn for better value t
Very poorly maintained properly
Breakfast in a box Yerstaday nobody to open for breakfast so we can’t eat Towels are not changed and room os not wash
Good for a basic stay. No issues. Front desk staff was nice.
You really do get what you pay for! This place is shabby and seriously needs a reno. The rooms are very tiny and very in need of an update
Needed to be decorated
The hallway had a stench. There is no microwave anywhere in the property. No intercom in the rooms. Breakfast was terrible. The bathroom and toilet was tiny. The front desk attendant often goes outside to smoke and leaves the door open, redirecting the smoke back into the property. Only good thing about this property is the rate.
Awful stay. Tiny box room. Bed doesn’t fit no hot water no heating. I was out from 6am until midnight and came back to a cold room and cold shower. Never again
An experience I won’t forget
The room was very dated and had electrical wires sticking out everywhere. It was a cramped room but even though it was grubby and in need of a good scrub the bed was clean and comfortable. On the second night we could hear vermin in the room so we called reception who moved us to the top floor. It was all a bit of a rush at 13 am and the next day after leaving the hotel we realised that the vermin had chewed/scratched their eat through my partners bag and helped themselves to the chocolate that was inside.
Tiny "double" room could hardly move
Great location but run down
Fantastic location for Paddington station and Hyde park. Some great places to eat near by
Absolutely do not stay here. We walked in and already knew it was going to be bad. We stayed all of 2 min before booking something else down the road. The whole place is dirty and there was very clearly hard core drug (H) usage going on in the room next door.
Very small room for what we paid. The bathroom didn’t even have any room to put anything down on, the drains were clogged, the room service didn’t even give us new sheets or pillows. I do not recommend this hotel.
Great location for accessing the transport links via Paddington. Ensuite facilities seemed new, very clean, although shower cubicle very small. Not much space in the room itself, but this seems to be normal for this rate in London. Breakfast was a very basic boxed-breakfast that was collected from a fridge in reception. Walls very thin. Thankfully the people next door were not too noisy. There was free wi-fi available, which we didn't need to use as already had good mobile data. Overall, for a one night visit in London, generally quite pleased - most important thing the room was very clean (bathroom, towels, bedding). Great location for connecting with the underground (Paddington) and also bus links, most convenient. Not much interaction with staff, just check-in and check-out, but those we saw were friendly and helpful. No problems. Would be happy to book again.
I liked that I could open the window for fresh air.
Great staff and location! No frills but comfortable.😊
Check in was great. Able to leave my luggage in a storage area prior to check in time. Had a room next to the elevator which was loud. It sounded like there was construction being done nearby. No toiletries provided. Not able to fully open window. No fan so there was lack of circulation. It was warm in the room.
The hotel is priced right for a college student or adult that needs a simple room with no amenities. The location is ideal to Paddington Station and several restaurants but definitely no frills!
Not very comfortable
It is an old building that does not offer very comfortable accommodation and there are subway trains running underneath the building and it is noisy. But you can get used to it. But the building is in a very nice area and close to Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and many other interesting places. I was disappointed that the description on Hotels.com was different from the reality. They write here that the breakfast for this object is in a nearby restaurant, but in fact there was a refrigerator with boxes witch contained a yogurt, an applesauce, a compote and a small bottle of water. The room was very small, about 3.5x3 m including the bathroom and the bed, which is quite small for two people. It might be fine for very undemanding visitors, but the room didn't seem very clean. The only plus here is the location and the big minus is the untrue description about breakfast and accomodation.
Clean and comfortable
Clean and comfortable Near to Paddington station so a handy base We didn't receive a breakfast which we were told it was inclusive
I
It needs investment and some much needed maintenance
The hotel is very easy to locate. Very accessible to public transport with plenty of shops around. There is no lift in the hotel. Packed breakfast. There’s not enough room to shower or to wash in the sink. I did not bother to wash or shower at all. I’m not complaining… I’m just stating that I get of what I paid for. That’s all.
Disappointing!
Oh my! No window In the room. Very tired furnishings and room. Rough bedding. No breakfast. Clean though! We made other arrangements and left asap. Not for me.
Simple with a good location.
Front desk person was great. Room was good enough, a little hot and the temp turned out to need to be adjusted from the front desk which we didn’t find out until the next morning. Very convenient to Paddington Station and hood for a quick stay. Not fancy but like I said..good enough!
Customer service here is non-existent, and they won't remind you about the "breakfast box" you can get in the AM which is decent. Proximity to Paddington is a plus, but make sure you take a fast shower because the hot water runs out in approximately 5 minutes.
Awful
Heating stuck on full. Dirty hairy shower linen and junk stacked outside room and broken vending machine. Nice after 3 biscuits and yoghurt for breakfast. Shame on Tesco as used a few club card points towards stay so thought be nice
Desk staff was excellent - Room clean and warm - Price best value in London.
Hotel needed tlc.
Offered a VERY small room at first but swapped us to a larger room with no problem. Breakfast is in a box. Very basic. No dining room. For the money it was quite acceptable Paddington is excellent for eating out
Helt ok
Lage gut Hotel naja

Bed buds!
I didn‘t like the stairs to the 5th floor. The shower wasn‘t clean. The water pressure in the shower was so few, it was hard to get the shampoo out of my hair. It took a very long time. The TV was not working.
First and foremost, the staff was excellent and always willing to help. They really made my stay in the hotel memorable, and I thank them for their disposition. As for the room, it was fairly clean, the bed was well made, there was a kettle, plugs... But there were issues with the hot water. The room was cold as well, but the weather was unusually cold for September in London too. The hotel location is very convenient for those flying from Heathrow and wanting somewhere near the center but budget friendly. I would stay here again

It was probably the worse hotel I have stayed in. Dirty, falling apart, zero customer service, cracked basin in the tiny bathroom, filthy shower, very uncomfortable mattress on the very old iron bed, very rude guy on reception, room wasn't touched after my first night, no shampoo, cheap soap, tv didn't work on BBC1
