Front desk staff were rude apon check out. they were very sarcastic and had an “i don’t have time” attitude. my party and i were very polite and respectful and the staff were very unfriendly and snapped at us.
Friendly Staff
Beautiful rooms inside, but the outside has no character and the paint job is unattractive. Landscaping could turn it into a premier property. Checkin and manager is wanting.
Scam artists!
I arrived at the hotel at 11:30. I was told there were no rooms available. I was also told that since I did not buy the insurance on my reservation that I forfeited my deposit for the room. These people who own this property are scam artists. They did the same thing to two other people and said they were just out of luck
Okay but room for improvement.
We stayed overnight as a place to crash after seeing Green Day at Oracle park: Pros: It was clean, the plumbing worked, and they offered plenty of soap and coffee in the room, as well as earplugs, which we quickly learned were there to block the sound of the streets outside. Cons: There was only one thin blanket on the bed and we got cold, and the tv didn't work. I also found it weird that they have the coat hanger right by the bathroom sink where you would normally hang towels. We felt lucky that we no one broke into our car. This was an okay place to crash, but I wouldn't recommend staying here formore than one night.
The staff was friendly
Property is ok
Amazing Host, always welcoming and alert for any inactivity happen the property.
Terrible service after midnight
Good features for price. Great location. Fridge, microwave and table. Iron board, tub etc. room good condition but carpet may need to be cleaned. Had a smell. Ask for a room with no carpet. Some rooms are all flooring.
Office smelled terrible !
5-Star Front Desk for a Small Motel
This is a very small motel type inn in the SOMA area of South San Francisco, so you may not expect much in terms of comfort; but they do provide it in abundance. And the front desk service is extremely friendly!
Ventilation system is bad. We would smell the food thru the bathroom vent from the kitchen, perhaps. Everything else is decent.
Staff was helpful and polite
Beds are comfy , no issues with the water using shower, getting ice is a bit odd to ask downstairs, people will be talking and yelling early morning and at late night but this is SF so its not hotel's fault. There is a liquor store next door you can grab things and a donut shop as well.buses are all around to use. I will come again very soon to this property
Mid-Week Visit
Our room was clean and spacious, though we couldn't get the heater to turn on, so it was a bit chilly overnight. The location is not great - the area around the Inn was pretty sketchy, seemed to be many homeless people around. The room itself was updated, and the property felt well-cared for once you stepped off the street outside.
What I liked: Housekeeping even when the "Do Not Disturb" sign was accidentally on
Horrible, don’t stay.
Hair on the towels, heater blew a circuit on 2nd day. Remote to tv/dish didnt work, got a new remote & remote didnt work. Watched a volumeless tv, couldnt change the station & volume, could only turn tv on. Used their hdmi to plug in my laptop for netflix & it didnt connect. Mattresses are flat, old, sinks in the center from side to side & top to bottom.
Close to Soma
The property has not given me my security deposit back
A really nice and patient family team owns or runs it and they keep it nice and safe
Nice, reasonable, clean stay
Super nice people, so close and convenient to everything. Reasonable prices for a last minute getaway to see Queens of the Stone Age.
The property was in good conditions, it was clean, room was spacious. However, I was surprised when the hotel charged me an additional $30 per nights for parking. Expedia did not disclose that parking was not included with the reservation. Other than the unexpected parking fee; my stay was good. But the streets of San Francisco are not safe.Too many mentally ill people roam and live on the streets, making it very unsafe.
Good location before there was a lot of homeless hanging out at Sam’s. They have cleaned up quite a bit. Overall service was great.
This Hotel was everything I needed for my 6 night stay during Outside Lands. A lot of great dining options nearby. Convenient central location. Safe enough area; mind your own business and loiterers will mind theirs. Anyone I encountered seemed friendly enough. The only issue I really had was the housekeeping was not cleaning our room. The first night, they made the beds, and replaced the towels, and cleaned. No cleaning or beds making we’re done for the remainder of the stay, with just towels being replaced. We did have to ask for a towel replacement at one point. Overall satisfied and would stay again.
Not the greatest area in terms of foot traffic. Friendly staff, but nobody was there when I arrived, and I wound up leaving and coming back.
Semi-clean but overall dirty, outdated, and overpriced. Parking was $120 ($30 a night) to be in an extremely open and dirty parking lot. Homeless will be walking around, screaming, blaring music, and defecting in the parking lot right by your car. It’s close to everything but overall extremely unsafe. Only stay here out of pure necessity. Solo female travelers especially stay away!!!
Great stay.
Great location. Offers late check in. Daily housekeeping.
Like the other reviews, decent room, helpful staff, dirty house less neighbors that leave their excrement on the sidewalks for you to enjoy! SOMA location is convenient for Muni transit, close to downtown.
No accommodating
When I made my reservation, parking on property was quoted as ten dollars per day. Indeed, this was the price I paid last year. When I arrived to check in, however, I was charged THIRTY dollars per day. The whole thing felt very "bait and switch". It was terribly frustrating, but I had no choice.
Loved the location and proximity to dining, eating and transportation options. The room was nice, clean and well kept. The staff was always pleasant and very helpful.
Nice hotel stay
Comfy hotel by a noisy street. The outside gives you the illusion it might be kind of shady to stay there but the hotel inside is really nice. The bed was comfy and the shower kept with the hot water after awhile. I would stay there again if I was in the area. My only problem was the hotel charging $35 a night to park in their parking lot. I could understand a smaller fee but charging $70 for two nights was a lot and I just parked a little bit down the block for free.
in the hotel parking lot at night, my car was hidden and things were stolen for about 3 thousand dollars. be careful
The area was a little noisy, but the room was quiet and clean and it was fabulous to get my car off the street! The host was also so very nice! I’ll be back.
Refused to honor the booking
Great room. All amenities worked well. Clean with no sign of pest issues. Accommodating, polite staff. Centrally located near a lot of pub transportation. A clear homeless issue outside and can be a bit noisy. Other than that, overall good stay.
It was what we needed. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet around the area both nights.
Good clean room & bathroom, with microwave & minifridge.
The room was loud because everything echoes from the streets. The hotel location is not ideal.
Excellent place to stay.👍
Good service
Good service.
Very good service. Staff are very friendly and the room is excellent. Thank you.🙏
Good service and friendly staff. The rooms are very clean. Good setting.
I liked that the property was a 6min walk to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. That was the reason I chose this hotel. The area is pretty noisy, and there is a bus or Muni that operates way into the night, however that's to no fault of the property. They do provide you with earplugs (which I didn't use). The area itself is kind of sketchy, but the same can be said about the whole city. All in all, the staff was very friendly with check in and check out, and the room was decent for the price. The bedding was fine, sheets were clean, towels were a bit scratchy, but clean and the bathroom was well-maintained. I would stay here again if I need to attend a show at the auditorium. Also, it's very close to the freeway, so you don't need to drive too far into the city.
Good place to stay
Great place, good price
Check in was super fast and efficient and friendly. Rooms are really clean and have all you need!
The hotel was very convenient to most of the places on our list to go to and to friends and family. The hotel staff was very friendly, fast and efficient. The room was very clean and was a lot nicer than expected.
I have stayed at this property several times over the past 10 years. While it isn’t in the most desirable or quietest area of SF, it’s convenient and a great price if you’re spending most of your time in the SOMA area of SF.
Location close to activity I attended. Parking convenient. Friendly, helpful staff.
The
Good
Its comfortable enough for what we paid for. A liltle loud cause its right off the main street. Parking is $40
The rooms and service was amazing. Very clean, plenty of amenities, and everyone was friendly.
Too noisy, needed ear plugs to sleep.
Overall Okay Stay
Overall the stay was okay, I stayed here because of the on-site parking. I was under the impression that the on-site parking would be included with the stay but when I arrived and checked in I was charged an additional $30 per night for parking. It should be included in the description.
There were lots of street people but since the hotel is situated in a courtyard facing in, you could get in and out of your car without interacting with any. It looks unsafe from the street but staff was very kind, room was clean and updated and we felt safe in the room, there was good security in elevator, stairs and room
It was clean. Some homeless in the parking lot.
You get what you pay for
The hotel itself wasn’t bad. A little dated could use carpet cleaning and new bed skirts. The neighborhood is definitely sketchy with drug use pretty much 24hrs a day. The staff is super welcoming and warm. Perfect spot literally to shower nap and leave. Close to mostly all city attractions and highway. Seriously not a place to hang out but a place to sleep.
Clean rooms unexpected additional deposit required
I was unhappy at check-in to be greeted by an unexpected required $100 deposit in addition to the room rental fee and parking fee. Though the deposit was credited back to my account within a few days, a forewarning of this requirement should have been given at the time of booking. In terms of the room, it was immaculate. The cleaning personnel should be paid well for doing such a great job of preparing rooms for visitors. Parking was perfect. We could see our car from our room. The neighborhood was marginal in terms of feeling safe.
Affordable, good value, parking, microwave, fridge, pro-staff. In homeless area, but they keep to themselves. If walking, be back before sunset just to be safe. A little random noise sometimes at night.
Good value
The TV needs a power cable
Very safe and clean considering the neighborhood. Owners clearly care about their customers.
Can’t stay if you can’t check in
When I arrived, there was no one there to check me in. 9:30 on a Saturday night. I waited over a half hour. Called an hour later, still no one. I stayed elsewhere
The property was great for me. For an additional charge I got to park my car in a clean well lit place. It was convenient for me, I could walk everywhere and uber food to me from all over the city. It is south of market so If you are looking for a white middle class suburban stay this isn't it. It's the city and is what it is.
I made a reservation using my debit card. I arrived and was told it’s credit card only. So I asked my friend to use his cc. The guy at the desk said even though credit card and id matched the name didn’t match the reservation so we could not stay there. We asked if we could transfer the reservation or make a new one and was told no. We went to the Hilton and had a wonderful stay, thank you! I will never make a reservation with them again!
Not bad :)
the place is clean and safe, but the outside neighborhood is little bit rough (though if you don't bother them, they won't harrass you either, just need to be careful at your belongings, that's all). The room is clean and has everything you need, the only thing I wasn't happy about is there has only one very thin bed sheet so during the winter it's very cold and you have no choice but to turn on the heater at full throttle, so it's not too environmentally friendly, but other than that, i have to say it's one of the good hotels i have experienced during my travel years so far.
All in all very satisfied
I have stayed here for 6 days now and service is basic but housekeeping is very friendly, not pushy or intrusive. At night it's comfortable to invite people over as the stairways are keyed so you can be sure all people walking around are customers or guests. Very quiet and mgmt has responded promptly to the few needs I requested.
There were hardly any good amenities parking was very expensive I put a sign out to not get cleaning in the room and they still went in no breakfast. Or coffee options
Very nice hotel. Wonderful helpful staff.
Above OK place.
The check in and out were quick and easy. The staff were very friendly and informative. The room was clean and pretty well appointed. Those were the positives. The negatives were: the neighborhood was a bit sketchy and very busy with foot and auto traffic well into the early morning hours. They did provide ear plugs though. We were in SF for a concert at the new Chase Center, so it was only for one night. It was within walking distance to many restaurants and easy drive to Chase Center or Oracle Park.
Very spacious, loved it!! Had to go to a party nearby and having a big area to get ready really helped out.
Management was very friendly and showed us best walking directions to our destination. We also left an item behind in our room and they were very helpful.
The trip was good but for the pay of the hotel room wasn't a good price at all. Clean rooms i can gibmve them that but the pay wasn't all that good
SF vacation
It was a spacious room with everything we needed. We will stay there again.
Good spot.
Over all it was great. Just parking was a little steep in price. I feel like you should have it included with your room for one car. And not pay an additional 30 dollars for one car per night.
Late-night accommodating and much appreciated
I stay here frequently because the check-in process is always very fast and pleasant. The neighborhood is not the greatest, but there’s parking available and it’s always clean. I had changed hotels late at night and they rented to me although it was after midnight, which was nice.
There was a boy that came to the door that was about 7 years of age, to tell me that it was going to be an hour until I would be able to check into the room. There were a lot of homeless loitering the property. I spoke with the worker about an hour later to tell him I had got another room at another hotel and that I would like to receive full refund he assured I would. Not the best experience
Satisfactory Visit
The inside of the room was great: clean and comfortable bed, the carpet wasn't smelly, the restroom was sanitary, the T.V. worked perfectly, there was a Microwave and a refrigerator. No noise to complain about. The surrounding area outside the hotel property was questionable. A high number of shady characters in the area.
N/A
Staff/ owners not trustworthy
I left something in my room after check out. Called to recover my item. Was told I would get a phone call reguarding my item that was plugged into back of television... no call back.... I’ve tried to call back three times. I will never stay there again.
Good value
Very good value for the $ in SF. Nothing special about the room or place, but served its purpose
I did not like the cleaning of the parking garage, it is really bad
To my standards the place was great and reasonably priced. The receptionist was helpful. It was clean of course and there were some interesting programs on the television. I watched robot chicken, secret societies, etc. There is a separate cost for parking unfortunately, but It was worth being able to keep an eye on the car. There was a mini fridge and microwave there for our convenience. I was satisfied.
Noisy, filthy, uncomfortable
I wasn't expecting much from a SF motel under $100, but this place was awful. It was very noisy - we asked for a room away from the street but honking, sirens, blaring music, and the owner's kids screaming as they played in the parking lot made it impossible to sleep. It was very dirty - the carpet was sticky, the walls had stains all over, the sheets had black stains, there was a plastic bag over the smoke alarm (presumably so someone could smoke in the room), there was a half bar of soap in the shower. It smelled strongly like a gas station bathroom. The pillows were flat and rock hard. I'm not picky when it comes to hotels, but I was afraid to touch anything in this noisy, sticky dump.
I love the location of the property but not the surrounding area, due to numerous factors.
Tia at the front desk is a treasure! The entire staff were fantastic
Great, as usual
Good regular and uneventful stay. As usual the hotel stay here lived up to my expectations.
The staff was great, room spacious and clean. The issue was the location with lots of homeless loitering very close by so we did not feel safe. Also no blackout curtains and bright lights outside room door made it difficult to darken room enough for sleep.
Bad service and dirty not nice service very demanding with the parking ,shower was very dusty and shower curtain not appropriate for the shower water came out not very organized 😡
Soma Park Inn great updated rooms boutique style
the hotel updated the rooms, they remodeled everything in the rooms including the bathroom all done boutique style. So you have a very nice quite spacious room boutique style and in addition to that the beds are queen ! Clean nice window wooden shades, wooden floor in the bathroom and new carpet in the room floor. I loved the part that none can have access inside the area where the rooms are unless you have the room key that allows you to make the elevator work, with out the key the elevator door won’t open . That is a plus security, that helps to keep uninvited guest.
Hotel Unsafe, Management Bait and Switch
The toilet was broken. They said they would refund my money (except for $45) but they only refunded me $45. I had to pay to stay somewhere else. The neighborhood is unsafe. The hotel is open air, and is unsafe. The rooms are
Only down side was a noisy street but that can’t be helped seeing as their next to a busy road.
Friendly staff great customer service overall good times....
They charge $25 for parking
The people that check us in were friendly. I was not aware of them charging $25 for parking until I arrived. The room was clean but everything was really old and our sheets had stains on them... we felt like we needed to go home and take a shower or 2 after a night there.
This place is really, really OK. Also, it is really, really reasonably priced. For these two reasons, you should stay here. It's clean, and was cleaned daily during our weeklong stay. The homeless neighbors are definitely present, but they're not a threat. It's fairly convenient to Moscone, so definitely a good place to stay for conferences.
New on the inside
The neighborhood is not the best and the hotel, on the outside, looks old and ordinary. But they have done a very good job at updating the insides. The bathroom had all new fixtures, room furniture was in good shape; everything worked; there was a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge, and the wifi was good and the bed was comfortable. Some people may not be comfortable in the neighborhood but in fact it was not a problem.
Great stay, nice owner

Bed bugs
At first the room.seemed nice enough and well equiped but when I pulled off the sheets there were bed bugs. Ddrips of blood and feces on the mattress and mattress cover. I hid in the bathroom until I could check out.
