Elevator Down, runned down tiny pool no seating , very old worn out furniture , room not cleaned thoroughly sticky floors, sticky stuff on countertops clearly not cleaned. Extremely noisy.

Place needs some serious updating

Pool is far from our room., and you had to either walk outside or though the Parkade to get to it

We have stayed here in the past and loved it, this time we found the suite very worn out. The furniture and carpets were in need of a good shampoo, the fake leather couch was peeling, the chair in the bedroom was completely peeled, bathroom sink was cracked. The throw pillows had stains on them. There was coffee but no filters. Quite disappointing compared to past stays. The rooms are quiet and a wonderful size though.

We really enjoyed the private bathrooms in the rooms as well as the underground parking. The staff was very accommodating and the pool and hot tub was nice a decent size. A warming fireplace instead of background lights would of been nicerfor the cold days. The underground parking to the suite itself can be confusing at first so make sure you sort out which area to park in as there are multiple complexes that are joined in the underground parking.

Fireplace was not working in one of the bedrooms it was cold in the place and could not turn heater up. Place was clean. Asked if we could check out later when we checked in they said the latest was 11. Then the day off they said there was no notes so we had to be out at 10 when it was 9:45 when we found out. Staff should communicate to each other, we rush to be out on time.

The size of the room was nice, however after walking in the room for 10 mins, our socks were filthy. Which shows that the floors were not clean at all. The halls need a huge deep clean as well. Along with proper lighting as it seems very dark both in the hallways and in the room itself. Otherwise it was ok. Nothing remarkable and definitely shouldn't be rated as highly as it was online.

The unit was quiet, clean, and spacious for our group of three adults and two kids. The kitchen was functional, though it could benefit from a few more condiments for cooking. One thing to note is that walking through the parkade in a wet bathing suit wasn’t the most comfortable experience. I’d recommend bringing slippers, as our unit didn’t have any. Overall, it was a decent stay, but there are a few small areas that could be improved for a more comfortable experience.

Nice condo, had everything we need

We like the location of this property and very specious rooms. Having kitchen is a must for travelling with kids. Pool was so disappointing. Cold locker rooms, nowhere to sit…embarrassing. Floors in the unit were dirty. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

It was just a quick stay. Clean nice

Always a nice stay at Solara. Heated underground parking that fits a full size truck is a nice extra when planning your stay in cold months.

The property need to renew the furniture, the pool is ok but looks old including the hot tub

Great option for families needing space

The room size and layout were absolutely perfect for a family. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub plus the heated underground parking was a nice perk. The only complaint I have is that the king bed in the primary bedroom was not actually a king Matress, it was two twin mattresses put together to make a king size which meant there was an uncomfortable seam down the middle of the bed.

The service was amazing and they upgraded us and provided late checkout for free!!! Definitely worth it and will be back

A comfortable space for family and friends!

Like the room size, very comfortable and has all appliances including washer and dryer. Nice multi jet shower. Parking is included in covered Parkade.

I like the suites. They're all different and cater to what you personally like. I didn't especially like mine this time around, it seemed cluttered and small. Also my washer and dryer didn't work! Not pleased about that.

Enjoyed our stay. Pool area small with lots of people

Front desk staff was rude, rooms weren’t ready until 5pm for check in so we had to wait an hour in the lobby, and then rooms were not clean, elevators super slow, impossible to find anything in the hotel - you had to go through the parkade to get to different levels and to the pool and to your car.

Functional suite so it does the job but felt ripped off. We drove 8 hours and paid more than 500 a night and for that I expected a top notch suite. No water in the second shower, toilet seat broken, beds and pillows old and not comfortable, bearings gone in fireplace so couldn’t even use super loud, furniture pretty beat up. Staff was not friendly or inviting and pool was very cold. I’m surprised these units aren’t in better shape since they should have the money to pay for the upkeep.

Terribly overpriced, unresponsive staff, multiple appliances not working. Our unit had a big sign on the dishwasher saying 'Out of order - osrry for the inconvienience' which one might expect for a $100/night place but since we were being charged $575 per night I complained and the person at the desk said 'they were not aware' there was a problem with the dishwasher. They then had us move to another unit where it turns out the TV didnt work properly, the washing machine and hair dryer didnt work, the blinds in the master bedroom were dirty and broken and one of the 2 bedside lamps in the master bedroom did not work either. When I called the front desk to tell them the TV was not working I got a recording and after leaving a message got no reponse for the next 2 days. This used to be a very nice place when we stayed 8 years ago but clearly the managers/owners have not been using any of the massive profits they have been generating to keep the place up. Would NEVER stay here again.

We had a 2 night stay to get out of the city and relax. We ended up leaving after the first night because the beds were like bags of clay. The pillows were incredibly thin. That was enough to make me leave. For some reason, they thought an old ripped chair in the room would be acceptable. At the rate you charge, i dont expect a crappy sleep or torn furniture. The front house staff denied me a refund for the one night even though it was 11am when i left. Do not go here. The expexctation of the spa is blown out of proportion too. Very disappointed.

The location of this resort being in Canmore, surrounded by breathtaking mountains, is truly a highlight. Unfortunately, the resort itself leaves much to be desired. It is not a resort by any means. The amenities were lacking, and the pool area was a disappointment—dingy and clearly in need of maintenance. The showers/ changing rooms in the pool area were poorly kept and had an unpleasant odor, opted out after a day of skiing. The rooms were essentially outdated apartments with old furniture, including chairs with peeling pleather. The overall vibe was more “worn down” than cozy. No restaurant or lounge on the site. Just plain apartment buildings. If you’re coming purely for the scenery and don’t mind compromising on comfort, this might work. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for a resort experience. I was disappointed.

I have stayed at this resort many times over the last 10 years . It's a great family spot but I think it's time for some updating

Stay was good.

Internet shuts down on people in the evening because they don't have proper internet for streaming. Once everyone is back in their room and on their devices, the internet either bogs down or stops working altogether. The televisions don't work either due to the connectivity so if you plans on staying, make sure you download a bunch of things beforehand. The rooms are dark (poor lighting) and the mattresses are not very comfortable. The walls seem to be thin and you are able to hear neighbors. Particularly if they are above you.

Good place for ladies weekend

Content of the kitchen is very well thought out. All utensils and cutlery we needed to make a meal were there.

But if a maze to get to the room. Ongoing construction in the section we were in. Pool was small and busy with kids.

The staff was helpful and very friendly and the property clean. We stayed in the Aurora section which is currently being renovated, the rooms, the hall. I wish the staff would have warned us when they gave us the keys. For 5 min, walking through the hall, until we got to our room, we had this “interesting” feeling - “where is our room ? This all looks in renovation, what number is our room, we don’t see the room numbers ? “ Once inside the room, it was perfect, clean, spacious, everything you needed.

Great stay at Solara- our 2 bedroom suite had lots of room for 2 couples! Walkable to dining options and to town centre!

Solara was a great property to celebrate my friend’s 50th birthday. The rooms were perfect for 5 ladies to stay in (bonus that it had an extra bathroom). Some things we loved: -heated garage (one car only) -clean -overall well-stocked kitchen -decent layout- worked well for our weekend getaway Some drawbacks: -street parking for our second car was a bit of a nightmare -elevator was so busy at check-out (waited 20 mins to be able to ride down with our copious amounts of luggage -not enough carts to help move luggage -pool and hot tub were small and packed -duvet was not automatically provided for pull out bed (with 5 person reservation) and they didn’t answer the phone, so we had to walk down) Overall it was a 4/5 star and we would consider coming back!

Needs work to to come close to its former glory.

This property used to be amazing. It’s now dirty, furniture is battered and the beds and pillows incredibly uncomfortable. Blinds were broken. Paths and sidewalks were in terrible disrepair. It was so sad to see. A few minor repairs and refinishing the wood tables would go a long way.

Quiet and clean.

All excellent - would go back again. Parking bit more than confusing. Also not convenient to unload car - no trollies available and couldn't unload second vehicle at front door.

Bed was not clean. Found bugs in the sofa bed. We tried contacting staff for two days, no one returned our call. On day of check out, I was told to contact the manager. Left a message, but no one returned my call. I will not be staying here again and would not recommend it.

Beautiful room that we had facing the mountains. Fairly easy walk to down town. Some updating near the elevator areas would be nice but really nothing that affects your experience! Beautiful facilities overall

The hot tub was so nice after a long day!

Very nice one bedroom unit. Kitchen was very well equipped. Kettle, French press, wine fridge and top end appliances. Washer, dryer. Two fireplaces and a shower with multiple heads and jets. The pool and hot tub were very clean and pleasant to use. We would stay here again.

Staff were very helpful . The hotel is starting to look tired with worn carpets and ageing furniture . Our room had been occupied previously by a family with a dog and it left its fleas in the carpet . My wife got flea bites on her ankles ! Also we were bothered by a dog barking in the corridor one evening . Not too happy with housekeeping only making beds on the 5 th night of stay .

Beautiful property. The hotel itself is beautiful, easy to access, staff was kind and helpful. Definitely will come back.

Terrible experience. Requestwd a top floor months in advance them again at check in. The check in girl flat out lied to me and said i was onnthentop floor. Arrivded to the room and quickly flund out there was somoene above us. Really noisy and poorly built resort. The place is way past the need for renovations. Poor cleanliness. Parking is an absolute joke. The elevator is insanely slow. Would never stay here again.

Lovely spacious suite. My only complaint was the non stop ventilation fan from the garage being located in the courtyard. It took away from the outdoor space and meant we had to keep the windows closed.

We only stayed 1 night. Room was beautiful but had some minor maintenance issues.

Huge suite with lots of room to move around. Loved having two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Modern decore and very quiet . Would love to have used the Recovery Centre but couldn’t afford another $40 each for that.

Check in time was 4pm. We couldn't check in till closer to 4:30. Our room wasn't even ready then, so they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom which was fine but not needed. There was no apology , no explanation for why the delay. Front staff seemed nice but not over customer service focused when we complained and asked how much longer, as we had a dinner at 5 for a wedding. The room was dark, lighting in the bathroom was terrible. There was a small round mirror for zooming in on your face but it was mounted so high, I couldn't even use it on my tippy toes. There were some patches on the corners that hadn't been sanded down or repainted. Hallway were dim, no artwork or anything of interest. Stains on some of the carpets. I wouldn't rate this as a luxury resort. Maybe a nice 3 star condo.

The property is nice, but you can tell is getting older and needs some love. Most of our living room blinds were broken. Carpet is worn. And the pool had an off smell to it. Was a good layout for our family (the two bedroom). Nice to have the laundry and balcony.

Check in went smooth. Staff was very accommodating as we arrived about 30mins earlier. The room was spacious and basic essentials were there. As i was about to lay down, found a blood stained pillow. Check out time is a bit too early.

The fridge had a very strong vinegar smell, and the make up mirror in the bathroom was installed way too high.

Our suite was very clean, modern and spacious, beds were very comfortable, Would definitely book again!

Room was dirty smelt very musty, floor was very dirty our socks were black. Arm Chair was tore up, no tv in bedroom, very tiny tv in living room. Definitely not worth the money. Elevator not working, front desk appeared to not have time for us. Inventory was not accurate, no iron or board but marked that there was and probably lots of other things not accurate, blind not working in living room. Suite was very disappointing 😢

Nice place to have family time!

Would not suggest this resort if you’re looking for a pool. The pool and hot tub area are extremely under maintained.

Do not go here!

Terrible stay. Dirty room. Huge bodily fluid stains all over the pull out couch matress. I cannot believe they would not get rid of that. Cigarette ash all over the balcony in a non smoking room. TV broken. Gave us the wrong room number so i disturbed another guest trying to enter my room. Scary dirty halway and slow elevator. I would rate this place lower than 1 if i could for cleanliness.

We rented three two beds rooms for 6 nights. We paid for all three rooms. Family vacation. Was told that we would have a cleaning on Monday and that never happened! Condos missing a few things in the kitchen that help With cooking. The fry pans are not good at all. They only give you two garbage bags( not enough when you’re cooking) not enough kitchen towels. The bed in the master room, wasn’t even made at the bottom of the bed. The sheet wasn’t pulled down so it would come apart. I’ve been traveling all over in the the USA and Europe and the bed is very important to most people.

Property was tidy and close to amenities. Nice little cafe in the lobby. Pool was small and hot tub jets were weak. Also only 1 elevator in each building making it faster to take stairs then wait for elevator.

The place we stayed in, the lighting was horrible. Very dark. The had old light fixtures, it was overdue for an upgrade. Only one TV, a small one in the living room. None of the bedrooms had TV's. They had two safes, both were broken, we called to have them fixed but they never showed up. My daughters pillow case had blood stains on it and her comforter was stained. The carpet was very old. The place was in a good location they just need to update the hotel. Also, the hot tub was broken.

Great place to stay. Super unfortunate they don’t have an outdoor hot tub as the indoor one gets loud and echos. Great location to get to downtown if you don’t mind taking a 20min walk. We enjoyed it tremendously! Close to other amenities too if you aren’t wanting to walk downtown.

Beautiful view of the mountains, easy access, clean, comfortable and spacious rooms

The room was spacious with nice, large, vaulted patio with very scenic views of the mountain. New appliances. Nice open floor plan.

The property was located near the main Hwy 1, which provides easy access to Banff, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. My spouse and I stayed in a one bedroom suite. It had new appliances but the rest of the room was very outdated. The cheap blinds were falling off the windows and half of them didn’t work. The pleather furniture was peeling off on the sofa seat and back and would stick to your clothes. The shower plumbing system was unlike anything I’ve seen before and the drain was clogged up, so tub filled up with water before you finished showering. There were long hairs in the tub in several places before first using shower. There is a washer/dryer combo but washer door remained open and wouldn’t close properly. The carpet in bedroom was heavily padded but looked dirty. Not enough lighting throughout room, so had to use phone flashlight to work appliances.

For what you’re paying here you’re not getting “luxury”. While it’s not a terrible place, it is dated and old. You will get a Mountain View in the right rooms but from behind another building likely. We encountered a few broken items in our room such as the microwave, wine cooler, refrigerator door handle, washing machine doesn’t drain appropriately, the bathroom door didn’t shut without force past the toilet in the washroom.

The suite was big but inconvenient parking situation n no room service as its apartment like stay . Pool is far n gross and hard to find from our building with a long walk from The staff on front desk was very helpfull when we complaint of . No WiFi available in the room for the length of our stay and they kept making excuses n saying they can't help as no technician can come and she told us to come to lobby to use the internet on our laptops , the lobby was far from our room My daughter needed to go to lobby area in the night n early mornings to finish her office work which was critical . We used our data on phone to do our searches for food n buying tours at the area . That was not great experience .

The sofa bed didn't work and we were given rollout beds that were too soft so my kids had a terrible sleep during the stay. Other things are good. Kitchen was good.

Really dirty hallway and in suite carpet. Musty smelling. Bathroom vent fan did not work. Dark - very little natural light. For the price paid, this was outstandingly bad.

Rooms are pretty comfortable and luxury

This resort needs some serious attention! I honestly would not book this place and do not recommend it to people either. For what we paid and what we experienced I would absolutely avoid this place. The owners obviously do not want to pay maintenance of the buildings. Notes for management: - The carpets are dirty in the suites and elsewhere. - the pool was cloudy and unusable (reported twice to staff and still as cloudy as it was the first time I report it). We didn’t end up using it once in four nights even though that was the reason I booked this place!! Note that the community centre (elevation centre) has an amazing pool. Climbing walls are amazing too!! - parking is limited in the parkade and there is limited street parking - the shower heads leaked in our unit - the blinds in our unit would not go up and when reported to staff the maintenance people said they couldn’t do anything and they needed a new unit! This was in the living area so daylight into the space was limited as a result and so were the views - we could hear everything in the corridor. So when people were moving around banging their entry doors at 3am it woke me up I definitely will NOT be staying here again. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Very nice place with lots of room. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. It is convenient to Banff, but not as touristy.

Not the best start

Checkin was horrible. Only 3 luggage carts with a hotel this size was ridiculous. Iron in room didn’t work and leaked all over my shirt. Toilet seat was loose and noisy.

The bedding was average The towels were terrible! The lowest of quality Something you would find in a 2 star. They were like bar/cleaning towels. I Spoke to the front desk that they were not acceptable for the standard of the resort and nothing happened. Was very disappointing the resort has gone below a 3 star

The property is dated and needs quite a few repairs. Signage is poor. Parking stinks!

The ceiling in the room was falling apart, window shades were broken, patios were dirty, floor in rooms were dirty. Pool towels are more like hand towels. For the price you would think it would be maintained a little bit better.

Very picturesque; staff super friendly and helpful; easy check in

Kitchen was well stoked with quality knives & non stick frying pan. Electric BBQ was easy to use and cooked evenly.
