Beautiful property with fantastic service.
Location perfect
Excellent in all
Excellent
Right in the heart of the old town. Decent size rooms with good size balcony, bathrooms in need of updating, low water pressure in shower, no cold water in the sink. Most staff are attentive & polite with the exception of Ingrid at breakfast - who could improve her attitude when customers order items not included in the standard breakfast. Otherwise, good overall experience.
Nos encantó este hotel, estuve alojado con mi esposa una noche, el servicio fue excelente, la comida, las instalaciones coloniales y modernas, las cortesías, definitivamente volveríamos.
We had the best experience at this hotel. Staff and service was amazing and friendly.
Had a great stay!
The hotel is beautiful, the staff is very helpful and attentive to all guests needs. Breakfast is huge with everything you need and more, food delicious.
Beautiful property and luxurious service
An absolutely incredible place to stay! The staff and facilities were beyond helpful. They remember your name. They take care of all of your needs, they constantly offer their services for you. The food and drinks were superb. Of course, it is in the heart of the walled city so everything is convenient! Will definitely stay there again!
The lush gardens & huge pool were a joy. The rooftop bar overlooking the water was a great place to relax with a cocktail before dinner. The spa was very relaxing.
One of the nicest places we have ever stayed! Beautiful, amazing breakfast buffet, 1621 Restaurant was wonderful, plus a perfect spa day. We will absolutely be back. The best customer service!
The overall service is good, but the price/what you get relationship is not worth it. The hotel price tag is for 5 star luxury hotel… in this case the towels, amenities are not of one. The service is good but many of the employees said they weren’t paid extra hours so if the bar closes at 12 they stop service at 11. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a convenient place, walkable from any point of the walled city. The offer at the pool is very limited (not good). For being a Sofitel and a luxury hotel, lacks the magic of being at a good hotel. I think the savings they are implementing are not worth it.
A
Best hotel in Cartagena! Right in the heart of the walled city . Walking distance to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and markets. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Pool area was very nice. The restaurants were also very good. Breakfast buffet served traditional Colombian food along with variety of meats, eggs and pastries. Lunch and dinner also had good options. The drinks were good. Attended a wedding there which was a great venue and time for all of the guests. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend!
Excellent.
Amazing staff
Lovely, great staff, fabulous food
Muy buen hotel!! Excelente ubicación y servicios!!buena piscina y spa muy muy recomendable

Excellent
The property is excellent, the service is wonderful. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this resort, and will stay there again if I visit Cartagena in the future. A special “thank you” to Pedro who works near the entrance of the hotel for always greeting us with a smile and helpful hand.
We loved everything about our stay here! The service was fantastic. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. The food and cocktails were all fantastic. The building and grounds were absolutely stunning, and the rooms were well appointed with amenities... robes, slippers, mini bar, nice turn down service, good products, safe, nice closet space, and so on. We had a massage and facial in the spa, and those were all excellent as well. The spa has a steam room and is very nice; the service is excellent. It does not have a ton of amenities (hot tub, sauna, etc). Even the pool chaises were gorgeous. The butler was very responsive. We looked at the other nice hotels while there... this was by far the prettiest one and best located. It is not directly in the middle of shopping, etc, but it is close to everything. The top restaurants were an easy walk. Having Uber sevice was huge too, though we only needed it a few times this was so close to everything. Honestly perfect on every metric, we hope to be back! Even the breakfast buffet and service were lovely and decadent.
It’s a beautiful hotel! I recommend it
Best property and staff.
We stayed at the Sofitel for 7 nights in June. The staff and butler team was very attentive to our needs and helped plan activities as well as offered general advice. The location is great within walking distance of everything but on the edge of the old city so at night it was pretty quiet so sleeping was a dream. We often staff is small boutique hotels but we need a big pool given the heat. The pool at the Santa Clara is wonderful, great for the days when you want a resort experience of laying by the pool in your cabana with drinks/good readily available. The sunset view from the terrace bar means you can take in all in without fighting the crowds any night you choose. I plan to come back and will recommend it to friends.

Wonderful staff at an incredible historical hotel.
Excellent Hotel and Service
Excellent hotel - service was top notch and very accommodating to make your stay in Cartagena amazing
Love it
Gorgeous hotel and amazing staff. Very warm and welcoming. The entire stay was absolutely luxurious and first class. Can’t wait to go back!
)))
The Legend Suite was AMAZING!!
This place is simply magical!
Luxurious Oasis in the Middle of a City
The pool and courtyard are stunning! We enjoyed the peacefulness at the hotel inside of a city. The staff is extremely kind. Jimmy even gifted a beautiful pillow for our new baby! These thoughtful touches made our stay extra memorable.
Hotel Santa Clara is a wonderful, historic property with excellent facilities. The staff was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and exceptionally well trained to focus on the needs of the guests. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel great staff you only need to look for the tip they put on your bill without asking you in the end, except that nothing to complain about great hotel
The property was beautiful and the staff very attentive
Wonderful hotel
Waiting times
Awesome! Plain and simple
The property was beautiful and service was amazing! The food was also very good. Highly recommend.
Todo muy agusto.. staff increible
The Sofitel Legend has a beautiful ambience - breezy, quiet and relaxed. The staff was excellent and incredibly attentive. An excellent place in the middle of bustling Cartagena. Our entire family loved it.
Excellent, best hotel in Cartagena
The building and inner courtyard garden were lovely.
I had an extraordinary experience at Santa Clara in Cartagena. The attention to detail was beyond amazing, and the concierge team, including Gabriel, Andres, and Altair, made my stay truly exceptional.
A great hotel with personality in the middle of old town, the plaza up front a bit crowded and street vendors a bit pushy, but fun for shopping.
This property is a historic beautiful building with a great location. I visit Santa Clara every year and found this stay rather below average vs what you´d expect at a 5 star hotel and the price you pay which btw this is the most expensive hotel in Cartagena. First, we asked A YEAR IN ADVANCE when we made our reservation for a quiet room. We were placed on a second floor with a balcony that serves no purpose whatsover since you open it and face literally a wall that divides the hotel and the outside street. Noisy street with vendors screaming and carriages day and night going up and down. Second, TV wasn´t a smart TV. Never worked. The cable service they had was terrible and froze all the time. The BOSE sound system had no bluetooth, so we were never able to use it. Both TV and BOSE speaker were completely outdated. Third, and this was to me the most shocking thing ever was that when we checked out we had " additional service charges for restaurant use" and "hotel insurance services charges" added to our bill. Every time we ate at the hotel and charged the bill to our room, additional to a very fair tip we paid a "service charge for restaurant use" was added. As well, insurance service charges are optional but they automatically charged these at check out. In summary we had approximately USD$200 ADDED which are completely optional and they should ask before automatically including them. INTERNATIONAL VISITORS be aware of this and double-check the breakdown of your bill.
The attention to detail in this hotel are amazing and the whole stuff was great, I would say that was a wonderful experience overall
the room too small, and bad lighting. i like the hotel but not the rooms.
Beautiful hotel. The staff was 5 star. A special thank you to Nelson who gave us a tour of the hotel. This is great spot but our room 213 was very loud. I gave 4 stars because a lot was closed Mon - Wens. The 1621 restaurant.. closed. The bar overlooking the beach…closed. If they want 5 stars then give all the guests access to all the advertised amenities. I would book again. The pool is a life saver after the heat and humidity of the walled city.
The best hotel in all of Cartagena.
Great Staff, quality food. Beautiful property, great architecture.
Amazing place for 3 days
The hotel is unique
Rooms are extremely antiquated, walls definitely need to be patched, painted and redone.Doors don’t close unless you slam them. There’re chunks of the bathroom sink missing. The tiles are grimy. The furniture looks like they got it in the early 2000’s & never bothered to change it.There’s an orange chair, yes ORANGE.That not only looks like it’s falling apart but it’s also so decrepit it belongs anywhere but in a hotel. First of all let me start by saying I was really looking forward to staying here. With that said, the good: service, everyone with the exception of one woman in the dining room were extremely professional, courteous and helpful. Everyone was very attentive and always available to help. Now…. The bad. So many things… So disappointing. Especially after paying $1000 for 2 nights. Everything in this hotel screams “ I haven’t been renovated or updated since the early 2000’s. There was a stain on the comforter never got a new one even tho I asked several times. Stains on curtains & make up stains on bathrobe and towels. Had to call about a neighbor playing loud music, singing and whistling like he’s in his house 3 times. We had ants in the room. Would I stay in this hotel again? Absolutely not. Do I think it’s overpriced and overhyped. Absolutely. I really don’t know why this place is so expensive, the building is outdated, grimy and just not at the standard of a luxury hotel. Was it at some point? Yes, just not anymore. And what’s with everyone greeting you in French?
Amaury, Adrián y todo el personal fue muy profesional.
A stunning, world-class hotel with amazing staff
The Santa Clara is said to be one of the best hotels in Colombia and I can well believe it. The service was incredible and the property was in immaculate condition. We loved it from the moment that Aldair handed us a cool flannel on check in. We particularly enjoyed the tour given by Jimmy, who was a regular friendly presence, helping us out right to the end when we were storing our luggage after checking out. If you can afford it, stay here. The pool is apparently the largest in the walled city, and we spent many happy hours there. The food was delicious and every single member of staff was professioal, friendly and helpful.
Excelente hotel para descansar y disfrutar de una playa cristalina y una arena blanca. Excelentes festaurantes y bares con un sercicio y atencion de lo mejor Volveremos
Good
This hotel had everything I wanted, I needed and then some. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was impossibly good. Every staff member was excellent and made the experience a great one. The hotel was clean, full of beautiful sights and the room was very comfortable and relaxing. I'll definitely come back for a future stay.
Beautiful hotel, the staff was very nice, the room was perfect.
The staff at the hotel were so accommodating and helpful. They allowed us to check in around 10:30am and I was grateful because we had a long travel day to get there. The customer service was excellent! I would love to stay here again!
Great personnel in particular Bryant. The exception was the attendant at the front desk at night. There was a massive roach in the bathroom. The card-keys did not work in four occasions for which we had to go from the fifth floor to the first floor front desk ever single time to be activated again.
Beautiful Hotel needs better manager
The hotel is beautiful as promised the renovated convent had a cool garden and pool with each room having a very nice view. I had a mixup with my reservations due to delayed flights and the hotel manager was very rude and unacceptable for what the hotel is or aspires to be in terms of hospitable service.
The best
Beautiful accommodation in an incredible building. Staff were incredibly hospitable. On-site 1621 restaurant was phenomenal. Highly recommended
I loved the location.
We called the front desk three times--once for an iron, once to fix the tv remote and once to resolve a door lock issue--they never showed on all three occassions--we had to call back--we ate in the restaurants, expensive for the quality--my wife ordered chicken--very rough--i ordered chicken ceasar--I WAS HONESTLY NOTHING SPECIAL--THERE IS NO ASSISTANCE WITH RESPECT TO ABUSIVE VENDORS WHO ATTACK YOU APON LEAVING THE FACILITY
Simply amazing! The breakfast was to die for. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I felt like a celebrity! Thank you for an amazing stay! I will come back VERY soon.
This property was amazing. The staff was very attentive especially Gabriel Pardo.
Servíce is outstandingly. The Sofitel experience is world class here. Every dimension meets your expectations
The best customer service ever
This property is opulent in every detail. The staff are top-notch. The physical space is so tranquil. The pool area is spectacular. The breakfast buffet (and staff) are fantastic. One of the best properties in all of Cartagena. Loved our stay, every minute.
The property is beautiful and is maintained very well
This hotel was amazing! The staff was always incredibly nice and welcoming. The room service was incredible. Get yourself the coconut pie or brownie. The club sandwich was great! Our cleaning lady Maria was fantastic. Our room was always clean and she replaced everything. Thursday-Sunday they have a party at the upper bar. The area was wonderful. There’s tons of night life and street vendors. It can be overwhelming at first and can make you feel unsafe by being in an unfamiliar country but you get used to it and people are very nice. The colorful city brings out a happiness in you. Make sure to try all of the juices!
Everything was perfect, from staff, cleanliness, location, quality of breakfast, dinner, drinks…except one small detail: the towels in the room. Too thin, too dry and therefore not very comfortable. Felt like drying with a carton board. Apart from that, probably the best hotel in the city
The level of service and features of the property were exceptional. However the area has alot of noise and over bearing trinket sellers as well as traffic
Really well located, in the hearth of the old down. Beautiful place. Good restaurants. The breakfast is perfect, a lot of unique fruits. Pool is nice with good bar and foods
Staff was super friendly and super efficient. They did ther jobs with a super positive attitude. They were great.
A luxury and beautiful place. I recommend this hotel
Everything about it was phenomenal. The staff/service, grounds, room, etc. The food was also incredible. Hands down amazing experience and definitely lives up to its 5-star rating
Beautiful property. 1621 was amazing.
This hotel is just amazing. The place has so much history! It is a beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing. We went to 1621 restaurant and it is just brilliant. Loved it and will be back.
It is a gorgeous hotel with an amazing staff! This was my 4th stay and just love it.
Everything was wonderful except the SPA wasn't available ( closed or fully booked).
Great place. Relaxing pool. Impeccable service…sometimes almost too attentive. Room was lovely. Recommend the deluxe room with butler service. The butler made so many last-minute dinner reservations for us at the most popular places in town.
My wife and I spent 3 days / 2 nights at the hotel. Fantastic. Great location. Very nice area to walk around with great restaurants. There's a big shopping mall just 1 block away, very convenient. The people at the hotel are very kind. We took the 'pasadia' to pass the day at their location in Baru. We will come back!
Loved the open courtyard with the flora and fauna. Excellent compliment breakfast. Onsite currency exchange office.
Room was not available for the reserved date. I was assigned a room with different beds until the booked room became available. I was bitten in my arm by some kind of insect while sleeping, probably a centipede or spider, and a bacterial infection developed that required medical treatment for several weeks.
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed Santa Clara. Even before our arrival, the staff helped us to ensure a marvelous stay. The service was exceptional in every department. We even enjoyed a hotel tour, which they do every day at 4:30, to learn more about its history. The rooms were nice despite being located in a very historic building site. There was some remodeling happening, but nothing that was disruptive. The food (breakfast buffet and room service) was delicious and bountiful. The only area that needs improvement is the issue of the terrace bar. It's a great space for watching the sunset but it's only open Thursday-Saturday and was closed to hotel guests because of a wedding party at least one night. We were escorted up to the rooftop above the spa which offers a fantastic sunset view, but no bar service, tables or chairs. At this level of hotel, this is unacceptable. Overall, we loved our stay and highly recommend it!
2nd time to stay the court yard is gorgeous
The property is beautifully kept, has great restaurants and it’s in a great location. Amazing service, highly recommend it.
Full of history
Love the location, inside the walled city, walking distance to la torre del reloj, cathedral of Santa Catalina and look out points of the sea. Inside the Hotel quiet and outside in the park next to it, we enjoy if the vibrant Cartagena people, and restaurants, although we eat in the Hotel surrounded by beautiful architecture and plants Also, Clean rooms and The bed very comfortable
I don’t like the area outside the hotel. Too many vendors and people invading customer’s space.
