Well cared for property in a great location. We were made to feel welcome and had a relaxed stay.

Nice, simple property. The bathroom and the shower stall was super small (the bed is a King) and it was tedious trying to wash hair, and shaving legs is an impossibility. I'm only 5'6", small frame, and I had a tough time. The bed was comfy, and clean, but we kept hitting our knees and feet on the humongous bed frame that sticks out in the room, only giving a small amount of room to get around. You can't wear shoes (in order to save the wood floors...), so be prepared to leave them at the bottom of the stairs when you arrive. The owners were super friendly, and accommodating. If we stayed here again, we would request a room with a larger bathroom.

Common area was very nice. The room was comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was private, but not ensuite so we had to walk the length of the hallway from our room to the private bathroom. Great location. Walkable to restaurants, etc.

The room was very nice and comfortable, the well-equipped communal kitchen was a bonus (as was the unexpected home-made sweets), and Wendy was friendly and helpful. The only negative point for us was the very small shower and the weak water flow through the shower head.

Our room was cery comfortable and quiet, would definitely recommend. There was a fully equipped kitchen and a nice sitting area for the guests to use. Our room had a very small bathroom which was good, but some rooms did not have ensuites

Didn’t like the bathroom so far from our room. Was very clean but not what I was expecting. I’ll read the ad better next time.

Smithers Guesthouse rates a "good" because of the cleanliness, responsiveness of staff and so on. What makes it an "excellent" is the unusual delights that are rarely found elsewhere. Use of kitchen and living room more than makes up for a small room and the deck in the morning was a wonderful treat. Recommended !

The only thing I suggest is to add some type of foot wear or footwear covering.Not every has the luxury of walking without shoes.

The owners really nice. room was very clean. But didn't appreciate the chainsaw and the trimming of the trees outside of our window. We had a 10 hour drive. And were resting. When the noise started at 7:30 pm. But nice room.

Everything

Never stayed in a Guest House before so it was an experience. The room was great, King bed and with a private shower and toilet. There was a hot tub up stairs we didn't use but if we go again we will. Facilities for the guest were good, kitchen and tv room. Everything was positive Outside it didn't look much but nice people and well kept inside. If we go to Smithers again we will definately be using this place

Good value

We just stay for a night and that is okay. The walls are not soundproof. No tv in room. One troublesome is the washroom and shower room are separated.

I was met and checked-in by Wendy who was fast, friendly and helpful. The floors in the bathrooms, hall, common area and bedroom were gleaming and absolutely spotless. Seriously, I’d eat off them! However, I didn’t have to as Wendy made a great dinner suggestion — Alpenhorn, within easy walking distance. My only complaint was that the wooden framed twin beds in my room squeaked so loudly I was afraid I’d wake other guests when I rolled over. All things considered, it was very good value for the money and I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay in Smithers, cozy and very very clean. Way more interesting, cozy and fun than those souless hotels on the way. Will definitely come back.

Quiet residential area but within a short walking distance to downtown and all amenities.

Host and hostess were very accomadating and even gave up thier parking so we could park our bikes undercover.

The place is in beautiful shape except for the shower in room 2 is barley big enough to fit a full size person in. Other than that its a very nice place to sleep.

The owners of this guesthouse are really nice. Location is convenient as it takes about 10 mins to walk to downtown and restaurants. The rooms do not have tv's in them, but there is a large one in the spacious living area. After doing 3 hikes, it was really relaxing to soak in their hot tub with a pretty awesome view of the mountains.

The staff is very friendly. The room, washroom and kitchen are very clean. The location is also perfect , only 10mins walk to downtown.

Smithers Guesthouse was clean and neat with a common kitchen and living area. There is a cupboard with games and playing cards. Even though we didn’t meet our hosts upon check in, an explicit note with codes and instructions was left for us. We had an awesome night’s sleep on the comfortable king bed.

Bathroom, while private, was across the hall and the toilet was in a separate room from the sink and shower.

Excellent facilities. We had the room with the ensuite washroom. The common area is comfortable and well placed. Would recommend you consider this when travelling in the interior of BC.

Great Place to Stay!

The Smithers Guesthouse is exceptionally clean, neat, organized, and comfortable. Each room has its own dedicated shower and toilet, but in some cases they are a few steps down the hall. I found the arrangement unusual, but appreciated just how spotless the rooms were and how cheerful was the service. If I am ever up there again, the Smithers Guesthouse would definitely be my first choice. I stayed in many motels, hotels, and B&Bs during my five weeks in Alaska and Canada. Smithers Guesthouse was in my top two.

Private bath, common areas and hot tub are great benefits. Centrally located.

Did not really know what to expect, but the rooms and basic accommodations were very nice and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the large deck with the hottub and the massive deck.

The stay was great! We stayed here last year and once again it met our expectations.

This accomodation was exceptionally fantastic

We checked in so late that there was no staff but we had the code and our room number so it was pretty seamless. We’ve never stayed at a guesthouse setup like this before. The only thing I’d say that I didn’t like was that it was pretty loud. People came back super late and woke me up tromping down the hall and just being super noisy. You could hear anyone who would leave their room to use the bathrooms because they were detached. Other than that it was fine. Good location and really clean and cute rooms.

Everything about our stay at Smithers Guesthouse was A+. Our hosts were extremely kind and accommodating. Room was very clean, bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and quite nice. Our favorite part was the hot tub with a gorgeous view of Mt Hudson Bay. I'd recommend the stay to anyone!

I liked having a full kitchen to cook in. I didn't spend a long time in the area but it was a good time.

Brilliant stop over spotlessly clean very spacious comfortable room good amenities in the communal kitchen/sitting room area. Easy to find local amenities handy. The owners very helpful and friendly. The hot tub was a great bonus

Very clean and comfortable if your in a larger room. The smaller rooms are too small and cramped although adequate for a short stay. Would have liked a tv in the room rather than community tv but I guess that is normal for a guest house vs hotel/motel. Generally no complaints.

This is a beautiful property, close to downtown but far enough away that you get out of the downtown (5 min drive). I have all great things to say... affordable, clean, friendly... the only thing to be aware of is that an actual breakfast is an extra 15 dollar charge and they need 2 days notice to prepare. There is a full stocked kitchen and dining area...and honestly lots of options for breakfast near by. Owners are so lovely, and we have already re booked twice more in the next two months!

We loved the bkend of privacy (own room & bathroom) and shared space (kitchen, living room, deck, hot tub). Thoughtful & beautiful art choices, and easy to get to. Simple check in & check out. Would definitely stay there again!

Was turned away and they blamed Travelocity...was sent down the street to fireweed motel which I think was a friend of the guesthouse people where they charged an additional 40 more than the guesthouse...think I was scammed...what is to ne done?

The couple is very friendly. The building super clean.loved the hot tub. This was our second booking and we will come back every year.
