The first night I slept lake a baby, second night, in the next room someone was slapping the door every five or ten minutes none stop, but i did hear somebody calling the attention on him and he stop, so i will said is wasn’t the hotels fault, hotel is good. I like it.
We only stood one night convenient right off the highway and near many places to o eat. Place was clean and room was fine for staying one night!
I was in town for the Cup Series race at Richmond and wanted to stay somewhere close to the track that wouldn’t break the bank. Good/clean hotel and I’d stay here again.
Good service
The room was super dirty upon arrival. We stayed there one night and we’ll never go back.
Good price
The door room doesn’t lock closing the door that’s no need card to open, we have use the chain to lock the door.
Good
Condition of the property was so-so. Hallways smelled. Chair in the room looked like they got it from someone who put it out by the road. Whole thing was 2nd rate.
Really nice price and rooms were pretty decent.
Never again.
3x new room keys to get working. Hotels.com charged $10 more than direct booking. Hallway smells. Room not very clean. Bloody snot on wall! Hair on sheets.Coffee lukewarm.
Room was clean but the toilet was backed up
Property looked & smelled clean. The male that checked us in was beyond rude! But the lady who was on later was great! The breakfast buffet was also very good. Would stay again, perhaps. . Convenient to 95 & 85, very good price
First time staying at Sleep Inn and surprised to find out this hotel is well managed in everything that makes us feel comfortable. Very good price too!
One night trip
Good
Clean and friendly.
Look elsewhere
I knew this was a budget hotel but it is in a bad area and since there were people hanging out in cars in back and the back door does not lock I did not feel safe and checked out early but haven’t received any money back
Terrible experience
Every employee was extremely rude and couldn’t bother to help in any way. Our room had an overwhelming smell of weed when we walked in. We had to leave the window open for hours. The sink and shower were broken and things weren’t clean.
We arrived late in evening around 9pm. Staff no where around. We waited 15 mins. Staff arrived was pleasant but grouchy (very tired). Room was musty and in need of renovation. Shower had mold and the water leaked which was very noisy. Challenging to sleep w leaking water. No other rooms available. No surprise w breakfast. Departed at 10 am and front desk person still there not sure of his schedule. Cleaning staff was pleasant.
the rooms were clean
We were given a room that was dirty (trash hadn’t been emptied, there were stains everywhere, smelled of smoke even though we requested a non smoking room) The sink started gushing water just before 10pm so we called down to the desk for service, waited for a long time before we had to call again. We were given another room but we had to go all the way back down to the front desk to get the keys when the new room was literally across the hall. How embarrassing to have to go down 3 floors in your nightgown…. The next day, we returned to our room and the key wouldn’t work so we had to go back down to the front desk. It turns out the keys deactivate at noon everyday despite the length of your stay so we had to go to the front desk each day for four days to get our keys reactivated…. The next morning, housekeeping knocked on our door at 8:45am just to collect our dirty towels. Upon returning later that afternoon, we found they hadn’t emptied the trash or replaced any linens. Also, the towels they did give us were just placed on the tv stand instead of in the bathroom. Not a single person in this hotel smiled at us, greeted us or even apologized for any of the multiple inconveniences we experienced. Will NEVER stay here again.
Nice stay
The staff were very noisy early in the morning. Hollering down the aisle to each other while guest were sleeping.
2 stars.
This property required a $50 damage deposit, which should have warned me that things were not good. Room smelled bad, mold on bathroom ceiling, missing one side table, bed very uncomfortable and low, hair on the bathroom floor. Doors banging all night long, people in hallway and outside coming and going. Did not feel safe there. Had little if any rest. Did not use shower as bathroom was dirty. Would not recommend to stay there. Area very sparsely occupied with other businesses. The one next door was closed. Not favorable area, won't use Sleep Inn again.
People outside in cars drinking and smoking pot
Everything was great except for an employee that spoke to us very rudely during breakfast
Our first night was okay, room wasn't horrible, but the room wasn't swept good. Especially under the beds. The second time we stayed, the light switch was broken, pieces of the ac vent were knocked off and parts of the bottom wall were falling off in the bathroom. Our door was the worst! We couldn't get it to open with the key unless we ran it through quickly about 10 times. Breakfast was closed before we came down at 8:30am. It was incredibly noisy this second night as well.
Beds weren't what we expected. Very uncomfortable
When i needed to switch locations they wouldnt let me and they refused to give me my money back. All they care about is money.
A Very Annoying Hotel Stay
Had to switch rooms because the toilet didn't work. Then had to change keycards FIVE times because the first four cards stopped working. This tiny housekeeping woman will tell you that you can't bring breakfast food to your room, then during the last 5 minutes of breakfast, everybody grabs what they can and goes back to their room with their food. Housekeeping also burst into our room the day before we were set to check out to tell us it was past check out time.
I had a quick getaway for 2 nights. It was a decent room and clean. My microwave didn’t work but the staff allowed me to use the one in the breakfast area. Overall not bad for the price. The staff was friendly and although I don’t really know the area we felt safe.
2 stars
Uncomfortable environment. Sketchy. Room was fine. Whole property had an unpleasant odor. Price was right, but still a terrible hotel
Nice staff, but room really needs repairs and updating. Stained chairs, broken light and shower door.
Good not great but covers what you need.
The Good: Nice service. Hot shower, clean bedsheets, cold fridge & a working microwave. Pet friendly. The needs improvement: Smelled old so my travel air freshener came in handy. The first room I got had a bathroom light that didn’t turn off, part of the door latch was missing to close from the inside so traveling alone was concerning & several parts of the particle board furniture was broken & exposed. I didn’t want to be liable so they switched me to the room next door. I was located right to next to the first floor exit so the door slamming all night kept me up & made my dog bark each time. I didn’t sleep much. Too tired to change rooms again. The next night there was no issue with that. I had issues with my key cards not working a few times during my stay. That has happened at other places but this was more than most. It’s an industrial area close to Chester so I wouldn’t want to stay here alone again. I did ask for an early check in & they did offer it but there’s a fee. There was also another fee for having my dog there each night. I wish that was stated on the booking site. With the extras I paid, I would have just gotten a more comfortable nicer hotel elsewhere. Great if you don’t care about that last stuff but for me it suffices for what I needed.
It’s older needs a lot of renovation.no coffee at breakfast no tea other then camomile
I got what a paid for. it was an inexpensive room to sleep in. Their was a smell of mildew in my room, I saw other reviews that said this while research, so i was not shocked. Not a place for a picky traveler but it served my purpose
I kept hearing a noise throughout the night and one of the light's wasn't working
Our beds were horrible .moms was broken and mine was really uncomfortable they need to be replaced until they are don’t stay in 101
Love breakfast there!!!
It is always a crap shoot traveling with large dogs and finding a place to stay last minute along I-95. This hotel still has carpets on the floor and just didn’t “feel” clean. Bed sheets had some stains and the shower had mold inside on the joints of the shower wall units.
Overall Good Experience. Very convenient to I-95.
The staff was not pleasant AT ALL. At check in I was charged an extra $20 for early check in (1 hour), the room was outdated. The night staff was rude & unpleasant when they were advised of an issue we had with 1 of our rooms. I would never refer anyone to this establishment.
Front desk staff was polite and friendly.
My room had a strong smell of cigarette and they couldn’t change the room.
My only complaint was the quality of the breakfast. Otherwise is nice hotel and I would go back.
Great 👍
It was absolutely filthy. Blood stains and room wasn't cleaned esp in bathroom area. No iron in room.
Property is adequate. Staff was considerate.
Black mold in the bathroom
Terrible experience
The a/c filter needs cleaning. The staff thinks they are a 5 star hotel. It is maybe a 2 star. Very dissapointed!!
After being on the road for over 12 hours, I decided to book this hotel for a quick overnight stay w/ my family and was immediately turned off by the note sitting at the reception area detailing incidents where one may be kicked out of the hotel including if the police had to be called. Talk about a red flag! The woman checking us in was pleasant even after I expressed my unhappiness w/ the smell in the room (#101) that damn near knocked me off my feet as soon as I opened the door. The smell was a cross between food, dampness, and body odor- nauseating to say the least. The woman spoke w/ two gentlemen who came from the back office about needing another room for me. One of the men came to me saying there was one other double room available but the carpet closest to the air conditioner was wet but he’d show it to me just in case I wanted it. I literally had to ask him to repeat himself because I couldn’t believe what came out of his mouth was an offer to sleep in a room w/ a wet carpet. I opted to leave and asked that my reservation be canceled and refunded immediately. The owners clearly don’t care about the conditions of the rooms and ought to be ashamed of themselves for allowing guests to book rooms kept in such poor condition.
Great customer service, nice clean room, shower water was so relaxing, bed comfortable. Love everything!
nice staff needs maintence
Just don't
Filthy. Pictures dont reflect the neglect of this place. This place really could use some TLC. Make up on the lamp shades, hole in the wall surrounded by some old spill, curtains nasty, windows havent been cleaned... The bathroom was just yuck. We stayed for about an hour before I found better suited accommodations.
It was nice and peaceful
The room was decent, but the small fridge and the windows were a little dirty. Overall a pleasant stay even though I was there for a few short hours.
Comfortable beds, it was very clean and the breakfast was descent
I booked my room on Expedia and pre-paid for same. When I showed up for my reservation, the hotel tried to charge me an ADDITIONAL $50.00 as a "Security Deposit!" When I absolutely refused and demanded a refund so that I could go elsewhere, the clerk finally agreed to waive the "Security Deposit," so I stayed. Overall, the hotel was fine for the price (nothing fancy but the room was clean and in good working order), but I was told that if I come back, I must pay the "Security Deposit." I can assure you that I will not return to this hotel for that very reason!!!!
Customer service and cleanliness
Super happy with the quality for the price. However the mattress was uncomfortable and breakfast was underwhelming. Besides that I loved my stay
Modest but clean with reasonable price.
It was a small, quaint hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that there was an enclosed shower with a door, which keeps the floor from getting wet. The overall appearance of the place was rather worn, especially the carpets in the hall. Also, the furniture was chipped. It could really use some sprucing up, but it was nicely decorated and clean. I would recommend it overall.
Fine to stay for a quick stop while traveling. Place needed some upgrading but it’s fine
Not the best
Missing wall photos, needed vacuuming, missing light bulbs, furniture chipping away.
Charged extra deposit
When you check in you are informed you must give a 50.00 deposit. Nothing is said about this till check in.
Somebody had a room near me & their dog was barking like it had lost it mind. Couldn't rest good when i first arrive. Had to call front desk. Eventually Crazy dog stop.
Very accessible from 95.
Room very dirty I will never going back
Richmond stay
Fairly pleasant. Had free breakfast. Comfortable room, beds.
Everything was good
Affordable vs Comfy
Pics online seemed ok but the rooms were small and for my family if 4 we felt cramped. Room literally next door to the fast food drive thru and the doors along the side of the building didn’t lock and we were on the ground floor. I asked about a suite, but was told this was the biggest room so there was no chance of upgrading . It was strange that the sink was in the bedroom and not the bathroom, but that was also smell and had no tub. There were marks in the toilet seat (not bodily at all) and I just didn’t feel very comfortable or cozy with the room. It wasn’t necessarily dirty or smelly, but just not what I was expecting or used to. On the brighter side, the staff as ok and the breakfast was the best part of our stay. Free parking and affordable, so that’s a plus. If I had not paid in advance I would have liked a refund and found another place. Things were missing like the handle on the closet, picture over one bed, unattached covering on ironing board, ripped light shade, and things that just needed better care. Again, nothing necessarily wrong just not comfy for us and weird location. It was just an overnight stay and we left early in the morning. I would rate this a 2.5/5.
Showers were disgusting, we couldn’t even take a shower. Sink was disgusting and clogged; doors flimsy. Walls were paper thin.
It was a little shabby, but convenient to freeway access
~very noisy dog next door to my room (kept me up all night) Had no idea there would be dogs Would appreciate a credit or partial refund for this inconvenience during my stay
Terrible
Terrible. Put us in a smoking room and would not let us change rooms. We checked out and would not use this hotel again
Back stairwell door broken. Lights in parking lot broken. Beer cans and other trash in the stairwell. Do not like the security deposit. Needs more security, like cameras. I did like the hot breakfast. I did sleep very well, quiet night. Pleasantly surprised my car was not broken into.
Seems updated and relatively clean. Lock on backdoor is broken and hence door is propped open.
Good: Property is close to 95. Not good: Your hotel needs a renovation. (1) need new carpet in or wooden floors in the rooms. (2) Need new furniture. (3) In the current condition, the hotel rate should be less than $100 per night (including taxes)
It was very old and very dirty. It makes me wonder, does anyone check on these properties? I mean, physically look at them?
This is the kind of place I would like to forget I ever found. I slept sitting up fully clothed afraid to touch anything in the room. The window was broken in a ground floor room and the solution provided was a single window clip. The room was extremely dirty. I used the sink and my own towel I brought in from the car as I did not have another option that night I stayed but would not recommend anyone else stay here.
Had black mold growing on the wall next to the mirror above the sink. The smell inside the room smelled like mothballs and was overwhelming.
Rooms were clean but the door to the shower needs to get repaired. But overall good place to stay.
Pretty solid stay. But found pubic hairs on our toilet as we checked into our room.
2nd room the charm
1st room smelled like something i could not explain and it wasn't good. Asked for another and got a good room(like the first one should have been).
Rooms are disgusting, mold, leaky faucets, toilets overflowed after a child urinated and flushed. Was told there was no one there to clean it up. Furniture was damaged and office chair was filthy
BAD Room Accommodation
The front desk area is clean & inviting its the room that was unacceptable. The room was in need of desperate repair & cleaning. I have photos but for some reason I can't upload. The very next morning I requested to speak with Manager who wasn't available. Clerk asked if I wanted to leave a message so I did (still no response to date) and I requested the Lady come to the room 103 to see & smell what my complaint was about. She stood in the room and said "oh we will clean the carpet that's why the room smells and we will replace the curtains, etc..." she had an excuse or reason for everything I brought to her attention. I asked her if you knew about all of this why would this room be available for overnight stay, she replied "she will speak with manager". Only because I was tired, it was late and I was traveling with a Teen who was also tired we stayed to get some sleep. If you can at all skip this property or inspect first if not too late. Hotel.com also tried to communicate my bad experience & was simply brushed off and told; "she completed the stay" and that was it.
Carpet in hallway was stained and ripped. Water pressure in bathroom sink was a trickle. Shower was normal.
all very freindly and clean, no atmosphere
The interior looks outdated and run down. Although I was assured that my room was non-smoking, it smelled musty and like an ashtray. This included the hallway. The front desk staff seemed pleasant and check in/out was quick. Notjing to brag about the breakfast buffet but was okay. The room felt dirty and uninviting. This ruined it for me. Would not recommend to anyone.
Where do I start? THIS PLACE IS NASTY. Save your money. They charge a 50$ damage deposit which I’d be okay with paying if the property was even slightly maintained. If you love the smell of MOLD and MILDEW then you’ll love this place as soon as you open the room door it will waft right into your face. If you’re lucky you’ll also get a NON SMOKING room that smells like cigarettes, how lucky! I’d truly have stayed in my car in a rest area overnight if I had known what a huge pile of actual garbage this place was.
Overnight travel stop
Conveniently located right off the highway, perfect for an overnight travel stop. Slightly outdated, but nothing wrong with the hotel.
First of all when I booked it stated $10 a dog then when I got there they said it’s $20 a dog. I got upset and expected the price I was quoted. I even had to show her where it stated $10 a dog. Then reluctantly she gave me it. Then she switched my original room to a different room when she new I had dogs. Well the room stunk so bad! So bad! I wanted to complain and switch rooms but I didn’t because I was so tired but I should have. Kind of mad at myself. I was put on an end unit where people are in and out all night and the door kept slamming and waking me up and making the dogs bark. I honestly feel like she changed my room because she new I was upset about the price of the dogs. Ultimately this is how she quietly got her revenge! I could be wrong, I don’t know!
Fine for a short stay to be near the airport
Hotel run by very nice people. However there was a fight between the hotel staff and a guest at 11:30 at night outside our room that woke us up. Not sure I will stay in this area again.
HORRIBLE
The stay was very uncomfortable. This place is disgusting. I can’t believe it’s a 7/10 rating. I turned on the faucet and the water was black. The room smelled like cigarettes and I’m an asthmatic and couldn’t even breathe. The whole place is falling apart. This place is a catfish! Disgusting.
The bathroom (shower) need updated, or deep cleaning. Generally everything else is ok.
Nothing fancy but does the job
Room was clean . Nothing fancy. I had hand rails in bathroom but it was a tub. I had to have my spouse help me with the tub. I am handicapped. We needed a place to sleep and continue our trip the next day. Staff friendly.
Great place
Great place to stay, easy check in , clean, secure, quiet. Everything I needed, thanks!
Absolutely worn out, tired, and filthy. This hotel needs new carpeting, new paint on the walls, new furniture. The chair in the room was stained and disgusting. Hairs in the shower. Musty smell. Even the breakfast sausage was burnt.
it was convienent
