Decent hotel.

Room is generally OK, with bright windows. Would have been a great stay if not for the extremely poor Wi-fi. Most of the time there is no signal, resulting in dropped connections. In fact one of the guests in another room had to check out and move to another hotel in order to get a proper wifi for his work. That is a shame.

Tv only received tv3. No other channels. Shampoo n shower gel had to put on the floor while bathing. Toilet basin water too big. Splash everyway when I slowly open it. And very noisy, you can hear walking, shouting, banging n talking. I don't recommend

Pleasant place to stay.

Rooms are clean, bright and spacious. The view is great. Location is quiet and serene. Water pressure is good and hot water in the shower is plentiful. The only unfavourable issue is the wi-fi. It is virtually non-existent, and has been like this for every occasion of my stay. Seemsoon Hotel need to address this important problem urgently as it can lead potential guests to look elsewhere.

Comfort and convenience

Quiet and peaceful stay.

Stayed at non smoking 2 single bed room at lvl 5. Good comfortable room for the price paid. Shower water pressure is very good, heater also working fine. Free Wifi was no good had to use own data. Parking limited in front of hotel. Sometimes have strong cigarette smell coming from outside into room thru front door. Quiet except can hear ppl slamming doors next door. Very good location, walking distance to popular area for food. Overall is a good hotel if u just need a place to sleep.

Its near to many attractions abouts 15 minutes walk. Don't like the breakfast too simple just rice, noodle and porridge no half boiled eggs.

Welcoming staff and great service. Rooms were spacious and maintained to an acceptable standard, although a little grubby. Free breakfast was provided, but I could see all sorts of bugs and creepy crawlies near the breads and jams.

Nice hotel in a great location.

Overall it is a pleasant stay. The air-conditioner is cold and the room is clean. Furnishing is a bit old though.

Many eating places in the old town are within short driving distances. However, the internet speed is very slow during daytime. The toilet is not so clean as well. Very lousy shower head!

Clean n quiet hotel..the room very clean Breakfast just okey.. Worth with ur money

Even though 2nd floor is non-smoking floor (only 6th floor is smoking floor), but when I checked in my room full with cigarette smell, I had to open windows and turned on aircond with high fan speed until evening only the smell gone. I know you can't control the previous customer, but you should have done this before next customer check in.

Hotel Staff / Facilites

1. No parking when come back late . When issue addressed hotel guard said this is not 4 star hotel . ( pissed me off ) 2. Water pressure inconsistent. 3. No internet / WiFi connnection in the room. Staff Only informed me of internet faulty when I addressed the issue failure of connection . 4. No floor tower available at bathroom entrance . Everytime need to dry foot on carpet after shower .

good location

The room is acceptable for business trip. Simple but good breakfast. No cloth hanger and no soap/shower lotion tray in the shower room. The floor of the shower room is wet due to no divider of the shower area and the washing basin.

Center of town. Walking distance can get foods. Disappointed on room maintenance, more to be improve.

Front desk someone staff wearing not nice,pls keep clean and uniform before served guess... sorry to say because I am also from hoteliers....I Very sansentive about that. Room is comfortable and food also nice but choice limited,but value of money.

A little run down but good location

The family room is spacious. Adding 2 more chairs and a small table would be nice. Stingy on toilet roll.... for a family room they gave only half a roll even after requesting for extra the following day. You can skip the breakfast nothing interesting. Take a short drive to town or nearby eateries. Ample parking space !

Condition of the hotel room is starting to look and feel a little old. May be time for a refresh soon.

Good hotel

Nice hotel.. Cleaniness.. Staff friendly and big smile.. Breakfast nice but not much variety.. I hope hotel can provide swiming pool in future.

Accessible to eat place

Reasonable price for hotel to stay. Accessibility to eat area and parking is available (limited parking lots). Comfort hotel but the cleanness of the room can be improved. Breakfast provided and foods taste ok which beyond my expectations.

It was a pleasent stay at Seemsoon. Very near to Ipoh city and easy to moving out.

everything are bad in service and condition

- check in slow and the room not ready for check in ontime. - going for breakfast have to wait for a table around 10min. - staff unfriendly. - wifi not working. - maybe have a company event or meeting so they have make noisy at night around 10.30-11.30pm. this make us cannot sleep as we stay at first floor.

Good stay for an affordable price.

Overall good. Breakfast not much variety but good enough to fill up stomach to kick start the day. PS: No free tooth brush. ;P

Good location with parking facility.

Good but hold up to check in at 2pm. We only get to check in half an hour late.

Hotel room is spacious and comfortable, blanket is warm enough, water was provided with kettle to further boil additional water for coffee / tea / refill, air con is controllable and cools the room well. Breakfast is so-so, but Ipoh is all about food, so encouraged to go out for food.

Very poor!

Hand over to me a not ready room, waiting half an hour in front of the room door way for the housekeeping after several complaints. My first view when open the room's door. As shown in the photos. I wonder what Expedia can do on this kind of situations beside published my experience.

The breakfast are low quality food. Request hair dryer take 30 minute to reach. Tv signal quite bad. Wifi ok

Hotel showing its age.

The hotel has gotten run down over the years. It looks and feels aged. The blankets are paper thin and the one I had a nasty soil spot on it. The wifi has not improved. The breakfast fare has deteriorated and I couldn't find anything palatable. The half boiled eggs were cold and I left the dining room after tasting it. I have stayed there previously on several occasions but will prefer to stay elsewhere from now. Pity as it used to be at least okay.

Value for money

Low price for a family room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Location is 10min drive to town. Room condition is average. One thing not so convenience is limited parking space.

the problem is water heater not hot just warm, will feel cool if shower at night. staff very friendly and helpful. wifi quite slow as cannot load for you tube.

I'll coming again on my next trip . Quite place. Easy check in and check out . Many varieties of breakfast . And overall is recommended for short trip .

Need to improve on the clealiness

Reserved a triple bedroom and check-in was fast and easy. The triple bedroom is big and spacious. There is even a bathtub in the bathroom. However the cleanliness of the room is poor. There were hairs and stains on the bed sheets and pillow sheets. There were also dusts all the desks in the room. Location wise is not too bad as its just 5-8 minutes drive to Ipoh town. Hotel provides limited free parking.

Inexpensive and clean hotel

I was on a short business trip and the price I paid for is worth it. It's right in the town area so wherever you want to go is just a short drive away. Room is rather spacious (very high ceiling on 1st floor) and clean. Water pressure for shower is great! The only complaint I have is the pillow; it's not soft enough for comfort. Ample of parking space available. Will stay again for my next business trip.

Nice and cheap

Stay at family room. The room has bathtub and the toilet is very big. The bed and mattress are very comfort. The only thing need to improve is the breakfast. The dining area is too small. If you come for breakfast after 8.30 there will be no space and you have to wait for other to finish their breakfast. The choice of breakfast is limited. No cereal. That is all for my comment. Other facilities are good. Oh but the way, the parking spare are also limited.

Easy check in and security is helping a lot. Room is spacious and comfortable with different choices. Recommended for a large group of staying and family. Easy access from main road and nearby town, food stall, restaurant and others facility.

It feels like budget hotel

It feels like budget hotel to me. The price is overrated. 7 level in total with one lift. Limited food choices for breakfast and slow food restock. Limited car parks, it seems like 1 car park for 5 rooms?

Overall stay was average. Room condition needs to be upgraded, air-conditioning makes too much noise. Duvet covers were yellowish. Breakfast was good and staffs are friendly and polite.

Its a nice hotel... staff are friendly... will recommend other people to stay here.

Convenient and clean

Good. On business trip, stay for 5 nights, room was big and quite. Have a good rest after work. Convenient and good location. Only disapoited with the daily breakfast, not much choice and same daily routine.

Has potential to improve

Didn't get to check in at 2pm as stipulated. Staff mentioned busy period. Only got my room at 2.30pm. If so they should have notified us earlier. Guest that arrived later than us got their rooms first. Overall room cleanliness was ok except blanket had stains. Location and parking was satisfactory.

Seemsoon Hotel - August 2016

If coming in by coach from Penang the hotel is a few miles from the station. The room was generally ok, albeit a little dated. Staff helpful. Breakfast fairly mediocre, mainly catering for the local or Chinese tourist it seems. Staff helpful. Hotel is a little out of the way, despite being in the city, and appears to be in the autopart side of town, so a taxi ride is generally the best way to get into the main town, with Ipoh Parade (actually a mall) being a good place to unwind, with kids amusements, lazer quest, archery!, etc. Plenty of Western food choices at the mall too for the less adventurous. We chose Ipoh to visit the lost world water park and hot springs. TIP; You can buy the tickets at the hotel, and will be offered 2 types, day passes (until 6pm) and night passes (6pm-11pm). Note that if you purchase the day passes you are entitled to stay until 11pm, though certain attractions will be unavailable as they close at 6pm. This was not made clear, and we nearly purchased both, but thankfully opted just for the day passes, else we would have wasted money needlessly.

Near town.can walk to famous vhicken rice.

No bad.hotel room big.req for extra bed with RM50. Nect time can consider again.

CLEAN AND VALUE OF MONEY

It is clean and good to rest after one whole day going out, location is good as near to many point of interest, only about 5-10 minutes drive. The breakfast served not much choices . We requested for non smoking room but the floor still have smoking smell detected.

simple night sleep

Went there for a night stay to visit someone who was hospitalized. Wifi is super weak. Bathroom strange design. There wasn't even a curb to stop water from showering to wet the whole bathroom includi the toilet seat and basin area.

Budget hotel OK for the price, but avoid the breakfast - it was the worst hotel breakfast ever for me by a country mile. I'm no foodie and I would have been happy with toast, marmalade & coffee, but even that was barely edible and I could have urinated stronger coffee.

I stay seemsoon hotel 3 days, Very disappointed the room service. The basic the toiletries shower & shampoo gel need to request every day 2~3 times than they send the shampoo & shower gel to room .from the 1st day Already told the counter The shower room the dispenser not working & remember give me the shower & shampoo gel.. But no action from them. Very frustrated & disappointed. basic toiletries should be supplied everyday. The breakfast foods no good.

So-so hotel, good for business (short trip)

The room when we arrived was not very clean, some part of the floor was not clean, carpet a bit old and rough. The bed and the bathroom is OK. Food for breakfast not so good, they only served 3 dishes, nasi lemak, kuew tiow and porridge, although its free, i think its better to find breakfast elsewhere. Its a good hotel for people who is travelling and on business trip - short trip. Not recommended for family or couples.

Hotel internet was not working

The internet was not working during our 2 night stay. Wifi connects to their device but we are unable to surf any site. Location of hotel is a bit far from KTM train station by foot. Need to walk about 30 minutes. However, the Chinese food street is reachable within 10 minutes.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights , I cant remember day 1 or 2 I saw your house keeping lady park the cart at the walk way and she slept on the guest room which she already clean up but door is not closing, for me this is not nice to do this in this way. I have the feeling that our room also slept by her before we checked in ????

It such a good experience for me as a newbie traveller. This hotel in good condition, clean and nice.

Good and quiet location

Situated in the heart of Ipoh, perfect for travellers who want to be close to the food and sights but not wanting to be intruded by the hustle bustle of the city. The building needs a bit of touch up to bring it up to standard but generally is in acceptable condition.

The service is real good and fast. I requested iron and ironing board and reported the hair dryer is malfunction. All request and issue are fixed within 10 min.

getting worst

this time stay request for non smoking area, hotel staff given 2nd floor wich is non smoking area. But when reach 2nd floor, the lift is open, the smoking smell are oncoming to our face dy. when we go to our's room, oh my god!! whole room oso have the smoking smell, is not suitable for baby stay at there, then we have to request for change room, but they said that day full housing no room can change. I just know that Seemsoon's room getting worst dy, always got smoking smell and the towel are oso not very clean to use it.. still can saw the dirty dots and the towel always saw like grey color instead of white color towel.

powerful shower. Only this! wifi is available, but not worked. Basic breakfast, not after the breakfast. Cleanliness is minimal, it is really an issue, even for a 1-night stopover. we asked for late check out at 3pm, the Manager on duty did not even check to system, as the next day is off peak, there should not be any issue for a late check out, and said maximum allowed is 2pm. Thus we left at 11am. The concierge is extremely polite, but not the reception, no hospitality quality. Bring own towels. Not advised. Rate is not exceptionally worth the value.
