Loved the location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Just loved the place.
Friendly courteous staff and good communication skills
The staff were very very nice. The rooms are dated but comfortable. U have everything you need. Nice pool area.
Great location, comfortable, clean, very friendly and attentive staff. Me and my wife had a great time! Highly recommended.
It was such a perfect haven from the other busy parts of Ubud. And close enough that you could walk to the busy areas via the shortcut through the monkey forest! The staff is so lovely, hospitable, helpful and quick to fix any small issues you may have. Ask them to give you a ride on their bike to a place that's close for you to walk to the shops etc on the evening. Also i highly recommend the personal driver that we had hired with the cab, during any day trips we took! Ketut: 62 813-3836-4120 He was really nice and polite and helpful! Defintely suggest you contact him for any where you need to go. Airport, or the day trips for sightseeing. Great car and cool!
It was small but cozy place with spectacular views from everywhere. The room was spacious as well as the bathroom. The hotel had a good sized pool as well.
You don’t want die, don’t use pool in the hotel
There was an inconvenience of moving the room because the air conditioner was poor, and the TV didn't work, but it was all a side job. There is a swimming pool, and the water level is very low at first, but it is 1.8m deep if you walk a few steps. However, despite such a dangerous structure, there is no warning message or record of deep depth near the swimming pool. They wrote down the depth in very small letters on the stone but look it up if you can find it in the picture I posted. It will be hard to find even with a magnifying glass. My father fell into the water while swimming in the pool, expecting to be safe, and after struggling for more than 30 seconds, he eventually lost his strength and was on the verge of dying. Just in time, a Uruguayan tourist who was enjoying a vacation at the swimming pool was able to rescue his father. I was seeing when it’s happen but I can’t swim, I had no choice but to shout outside and there was no rescue equipment (tubes, ropes, life jackets). The staff heard me shouting and only a few female employees came a minute later. My father would probably have died here without the traveler. I am personally grateful to him. And I'm sure there will be a death in the pool within a year at this hotel. I hope you're not the victim. I’m influencer and I will upload this story on my youtube channel for other traveller’s safe.
Good environment. Clean facility
A Peaceful, Small Hotel
Location: This hotel is located right behind the Monkey Forest, so it’s away the main town. For us, it was the perfect, quiet getaway. Our room overlooked some rice paddy fields. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service into the main area of town, which we also found to be very convenient. Service: For a much smaller hotel, they provided excellent customer service. The girls at the reception desk spoke excellent English and helped us make reservations for tours. Daily Breakfast Buffet: The hotel provides an adequate breakfast buffet that includes a variety of western and local options. If you’re looking for bacon or sausage, ask the staff directly and they’ll make a special serving just for you. Laundry: On our last full day, I dropped off our laundry at the front desk before 8 a.m. The receptionist said they would send it out for service, and it would be delivered to our room between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. that evening, but it wasn't. After several phone calls to the front desk, then waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes, we finally got our laundry at around 11:30 p.m. My husband refused to pay for the service after all of the trouble we experienced. The receptionist was shocked, but she didn’t argue back. In-room safe: Unfortunately, this hotel does not provide safes inside of their rooms, but they do provide safety deposit boxes at the front desk which is where we stored our passports.
Wonderful stay at the Saren Indah hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful facilities including a outdoor pool we loved, great location near the monkey forest and delicious breakfast. We hope to stay again next time in Indonesia!!
Enjoyed our stay as it was so peaceful and quite. Staff were all wonderful. Food was good. Had a massage every day and Yule, hope got the spelling right, was great! Would recommend this to anyone going to Bali and is not interested in too much sight seeing. Everything was very reasonably priced especially when you travel from Europe or America.
Location was excellent and the staff so friendly! The room was perfect size and the breakfast every morning was delicious!
Loved it, Would stay again
Peace, tranquility but overall the staff.. They were so friendly and attentive
Beautiful property. Attentive staff. Lovely rooms. Only downfall was not being able to get work done as the wifi rarely worked.
The staff was lovely. The place was quiet and calm. I understand what some reviewers wrote about it being a bit old/in need of maintenance but I actually appreciated the groundedness of this.
It gave a feel of rural living. It was a good experience.
The people/staff there are wonderful; we've been to Bali before and have now stayed at Saren Indah 3 times, and enjoyed it even more this time. It's a real relaxing delight, and a true value.
Great location, quiet with good views of the rice fields yet easy walking distance (or shuttlebus) to the centre. Some small bars, restaurants, shops and spas on the street. The room was clean (daily), with a fridge, hot water and towels, satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities with water replenished. Good breakfast, lovely pool and friendly staff. Whilst it was quiet season, it was a lovely relaxing base
My husband and I loved how cozy and calm the overall atmosphere felt at the hotel. The occasional monkey visits were very entertaining, as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast omlettes were an extremely tasty start to each day we stayed there. Best omelette I’ve ever had. Great value for money. Would definitely return again!
Great hotel great service !
We had a lovely stay at the hotel and were slightly puzzled by some of the mixed reviews. Big room, beautiful balcony overlooking paddy fields - monekys visit in the morning which savers a visit to Monkey Forest! Good breakfast selection to 11am which meant we went out before sunrise forl 4 hours and could enjoy a late breakfast. Food was fine in restaurant but found better options locally and in Ubud - as off season and quiet found the restaurant a little soulless - staff couldn’t have been more attentive and were very accommodating tweaking dishes :) shutte into Ubud worked smoothly. Pool area brilliant to chill out in. We would stay there again as thought great value for money and excellent service.
A beautiful hotel, set amongst the rice fields. Perfect location with lovely staff😀
Tranquil hotel close to the monkey forest
We wanted to be close to Ubud but not right in amongst the hustle and bustle. Saren Indah is a delightful hotel with typical Bali charm. Nice pool for cooling off. Cookery school next door was a great experience. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Scooters for hire across the road or taxis/ shuttle when ever needed. Easy walk via Monkey forest into Ubud. Would go back in a heart beat
Paradise in Ubud
We stayed just one night and wish it could be longer. The transfer from the airport was reasonable and very comfortable. The staff working to manicure the grounds, working in the restaurant and serving at the front desk were very friendly and polite. Fabulous service.
Charming property near Monkey Forest in Ubud
We had a pleasant time. We enjoyed breakfast in the open air, with an occasional visit from a monkey who ogled us from afar. The swimming pool was super clean and a pleasure to use. The staff was more than helpful and treated our questions and requests with immediate attention and charm. Transport to the city center was well organized and the times established were kept without delays. The restaurants where we ate were spectacular in design and location. Cafe Wayan was in a huge garden and Cafe Lotus looked out over lotus ponds onto an illuminated temple beyond.
Great Hotel!!!! We just loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
Lovely hotel, great staff
Lovely hotel, in a convenient location right beside the Monkey Forest and within ten minute walk of Ubud town centre via a moped track around the walls of the Monkey forest. Seeing the rice paddies farmed outside your door is a very unique experience and certainly adds to the stay. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the dining options were varied and delicious. Would stay again.
Perfect in every way
This was the first time I've traveled away from North America, so maybe I was just in euphoria - but the whole experience was perfect. The staff was extremely nice and easy to talk to, especially those at the restaurant (which was a cute open air room). The servers were cutely dressed, polite, and so helpful. On our last day, we were getting picked up to go to the airport at 7am so we went to the lobby to drop off our key - and even though the breakfast (which is included) doesn't start until 7:30am - they offered without being asked to make us box to go, which included warm breads, freshly hard boiled eggs, butters, and jams. To me, that was above and beyond. Also, being our first time out of the Americas, we didn't have a proper electrical converter, so when we asked the front desk where to get one, they loaned us one for our entire stay. Of course, we bought one later - but it was like automatic for them to help. The shuttle service was easy to use to go to town. The front staff made scheduling a tour simple. The driver they arranged for our airport drop off (and who did our tour) was extremely friendly and acted as a tour guide. And, the setting was like magic - with the rice paddies hosting ducks, nice landscaping, clean pool, and a couple monkeys hopping on the outskirts. And the food was great, even the breakfast that was included Even the other guests from abroad seemed to be exceptionally friendly. Anyway, don't think twice - go ahead with this lovely hotel.

The best hot stone massage I’ve had in a while! The staff were super helpful too— I had to check out by 7am and the restaurant doesn’t open until 7:30, staff actually asked if I would like some breakfast for the road! I loved how quiet my balcony was, the road outside the hotel could be quite busy at times but I never heard any traffic noise. It was blissful to come back to a quiet retreat after the loud crowds of Ubud. Oh! One more thing… those banana pancakes are to die for!
