The best!
We had the absolute best stay with Santiago de Alfama. I loved the location in the heart of the Alfama neighborhood and we had a beautiful view of the river during our stay. The hotel bar was really cool, with interesting drinks and amazing staff. The breakfast at Audrey's, which was included in our stay, was also amazing. Our room was serviced twice a day, and the hotel was very clean. The concierge was helpful in advance to and during our stay, helping us book excursions, reservations and spa treatments. We had an early flight departure and they even ensured we had a to-go breakfast the morning we left. We really felt at home, and everyone was so kind and helpful. I hope we can make our way back soon.
Very convenient location, nice and quiet, good restaurant, nice and pleasant service from all stuff members
Location was great. It was lovely to be in a boutique hotel which was giving personal treatment to the guests. The only complaint was that the pillows were too soft
This is an excellent property in a popular neighborhood. The staff was very helpful and informative. Rooms were of a nice size and quality. It does get busy in that area, but at night, the crowds leave and it is very quiet. Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful boutique hotel in a fantastic Alfama location! We will be back.
Such a beautiful hotel! We wish we stayed here a few days longer before flying out! Started great with us being checked in by Martín who was very friendly and pleasant. Started off by pouring us a glass of water and even offering some sherry. He then gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us the Roman stairway on the second floor. Amazing and a must see while staying there! He showed us to our room and even gave us a tour of it. He even gave us a great dinner recommendation that was probably one of our favorite meals of our trip! We booked a small bedroom for two and it was so spacious. Everything was so comfortable and quiet. The breakfast included was delicious! We’re glad we had a chance to eat there before flying out. The hotel is in a great location. Miradouro de Santa Luzia Is only a few steps away and Tram 28 runs along the next street. There’s a kiosk area nearby that sells beer and wine so you can drink with a view and people watch. Would definitely stay here again!
This hotel was an excellent place to stay. Great location, very clean, and very well-maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
It is a beautiful hotel in the charming oldest part of Lisbon. The service was excellent!
It was a perfect stay in every resoect.
This was a fantastic stay. The hotel staff was exceptional and the dining from breakfast to dinner is superb. The bartenders, Bruno and Manuel are exceptional in their trade. Bo would highly recommend this hotel as your next stay in the Alfama area.
The boutique hotel is beautiful! The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. It was walking distance to many of the city’s attractions, but you must be ready to walk up and down steep hills, but that’s just Lisbon in general.
Absolutely loved this Hotel. Best places we stayed
Great location in busy Alfama, but tucked away on a quiet side street. Elevator helpful for getting luggage upstairs. Uber dropoff right in front, no dragging bags up cobblestone hills! Restaurant was so great we had breakfast every day, and dinner there twice with live music on Thursday & Saturday nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrobes provided. Bvulgari brand toiletries provided. Definitely upgrade to a room with a view. The junior suite and panoramic suite are enormous and have incredible views and tons of space.
.
Absolutely one of the best stays we’ve had. A great hotel - and tremendous value for a 5 star property - with amazing staff. Great location and really first class. We will definitely return for another stay 👍
Loved the friendliness of the hotel. Classy, cool, beautifully decorated and despite being right in Alfama, it felt slightly on the periphery.
Wonderful staff and breakfasts.
Location and views!!
Absolutely loved our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.
Beautifully appointed boutique hotel-staff is unbelievable!
Excellent property and wonderful staff.
Santiago de Alfama is on a quiet square with a lovely cafe/restaurant on the plaza, so you can enjoy breakfast, drinks, or a meal. It is steps from a busy and bustling tourist area, including the tram 28 line, the Santa Luzia overlook (Miradoro) , and the castle on the hill. It is easy to walk down to the Praca de Comercio if you want more transportation options. Our room was comfortable, clean and quite beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and eager to help us as needed. A terrific place to stay in Lisbon!
Overall excellent stay!
Classy hotel with art, history, modernity
The greeting and ginzha and helping us get to know the property, the neighborhood, and be prepared for the upcoming festival activities was very helpful and supportive. Also we were able to take the keys to broom a little bit early which was also helpful given our early flight arrival.
Outstanding boutique hotel! Staff awesome. Beautiful rooms. Very very clean. Great bar and restaurant.. would definitely return.
The historic site was really interesting and we loved the dining options. It is so centrally located to the old city and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone - it was within walking distance of so many great sites and restaurants. We felt like locals.
Beautiful, charming hotel. Lovely breakfast.
Really enjoyed our stay at Santiago de Alfama! Beautiful hotel and very helpful staff! Would definitely recommend and definitely stay again if we return to Lisbon!
Very nice. Good food
Wonderful staff.
Very good location and high standards
A true gem in Alfama. The manager and all the staff are funny, intelligent, cultured and above all committed to your comfort and enjoyment. The breakfast was exceptional. The cocktails were wonderful served in an atmosphere that was both comfortable and sophisticated. The mixologist was very knowledgeable without taking himself too seriously. The live music (on Thursdays and Fridays) is excellent. Our suite (402) has extraordinary views. It was a but of a splurge (the only room available) but it was well worth it. I woukd not have wanted to miss this hotel.
Beautiful hotel - we had one of the cheapest rooms…. Still stunning and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Tons of character and a great place to use as a base to explore Lisbon.
A lovely modern gem tucked in the historic Alfama district. The entire experience was wonderful. Amazing staff and beautiful design created a memorable stay for us in Lisbon.
The staff is the shining star of this property. While it is a lovely, charming hotel, it is outstanding and 5* because of Lana, Joanna, Bruno, and Denusha, backed by fine housekeepers. They became friends!
Beautiful hotel with lots of amenities and great service! Perfectly situated in the Alfama district of Lisbon.
This place was fabulous in every way. Beautiful hotel and warm and friendly staff. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. We will be back again ...and again.
I stayed for a night and wasn't really impressed. Luggage storage is right beside the front entrance behind a velvet rope -- not very secure at all. My room was upgraded to a lovely view of the river and while the bed and linens were phenomenal, the rainfall shower had calcification so water only came out of 3/4ths of the head. There was inconsistent pressure from one of the bathroom faucets. When I checked in, I overheard another guest complaining of something similar. The air conditioning/heating was pretty loud in the evening. One of the concierge team members was a little condescending and in general I found most of the team polite, but not helpful. The location is also pretty far from most things. Honestly, there are better places to stay closer to the center of town.
First class in every aspect. Wonderful staff. Can’t recommend enough!
Excellent hotel with very spacious rooms and super king sized beds. The staff are superb. I highly recommend a stay here… great location close to the cruise port, Sao Jorge Castle for 360 degree panoramas of Lisbon, short walk to the Fado Museum and night time live Fado music. The hotel is expensive but was worth the lovely overall experience.
Very attentive and helpful staff. Great room. Only complaint would be the shower. It’s oddly placed and weak. We had a junior suite. Excited about looking at their other properties.
The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and gracious. My room was charming and the bed was extremely comfortable. I will definitely be back!
I picked this hotel, because it is in Alfama with original and ancient ,winding cobblestone streets. I would not recommend this area for anyone with ability issues. The cobblestone streets are difficult to maneuver.
Absolutely fabulous small boutique hotel in the Alfama (old part of Lisbon). Perfect location, gorgeous hotel and fantastic staff. Would highly recommend
Great location. Staff were on point. The value just isn’t there. A few years ago I stayed at this hotel, same time of year and days of the week. Cost was less than half of what I paid this year. The hotel and grounds were the same with a bit more wear. It just isn’t worth the cost any longer. Very unfortunate to say. Thank you.
The view from our 4th floor room was amazing, the bed was soft and luxurious, the breakfast was delicious, the staff was so kind and we just loved everything about our stay. Thank you for making our trip so memorable!
The hotel and stuff are fantastic
My husband, 7 year old daughter, and I just checked out of this pretty boutique hotel today. The staff we encountered were friendly, attentive and professional. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, and I had booked a room with breakfast included, which was copious and delicious. The bed and linens so comfortable and the room was spotless. In the center of exactly where you want to be (the best coastal views of the Tagus from right across the street and from the hotel terrace, with super easy access to the #28 tram and everything else), I can’t imagine a more ideal place to stay in the Alfama area of Lisbon. If/when we return, I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Santiago de Alfama again.
Excellent hotel, will stay again
Location was great for this unique and stunning hotel. Walking distance to many dining options. Tons of things to see and do. Absolutely worth it!
Quite happy with this hotel, its in old part of city so its not the most walkable area as its mainly hills. Also worth noting the hotel does not have a pool. Other than that, it was quite nice, 5 stars for sure, we loved the location, staff are friendly, nice clean rooms, good views of Lisbon/ocean, Audreys for breakfast is great or food throughout the day.
great
Wonderful staff and AWESOME restaurant. Good and drink were fabulous!!
Historic building modified as a smart, upscale hotel. All rooms are different, but modern, with decor that is sn updated nod to its history. The outdoor restaurant is delightful. While somewhat secluded, the E28 tram stop is 20 steps away. The Castelo de San Jorge is around the corner via historic cobblestone streets. I can’t say enough about the staff and service. This is an intimate, world class hotel in the heart of Alfama.
Loved this hotel. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the location perfect, the food good and the room very comfortable. I could not have asked for anything more for my first trip to Lisboa.
Outstanding Hotel
Great place to stay. Right in the middle of everything. Phenomenal staff.
This is a very nice hotel in a great location. Very clean and well-maintained. This stuff is very nice and helpful. Restaurant is great for breakfast and OK for dinner. The only minus is that the check in is at 3 PM which may be difficult for people arriving in the morning.
Pleasant small hotel, ideally suited with the area.
Excellent property with super helpful staff. The breakfast at the hotel is awesome
The property is very unique and beautifully decorated. We liked our room and the breakfast.
This is the definition of a "boutique" hotel in our opinion. Tasteful, attractive, helpful staff and concierge team, great location and comfortable rooms. A terrific bar and restaurant area--how often can you have breakfast across the square from the church that Christopher Columbus got married in? Our only complaint is that the floor in the shower was very slippery with no grab bars. Seemed dangerous to us.
Fantastic stay and will be back. Wonderful location in alfama to explore all districts of Lisbon. Very welcoming staff offering tips and insights into Lisbon from restaurant recommendations to the best way to get about the city. Room was beautiful and very well equipped. Hot water wasn’t working 1 out of 3 mornings but no big deal. Cleanliness and finish to what is a very old and beautiful building is brilliant. Didn’t have time to experience the spa facilities or on site restaurant but looked great and the bar was lovely. Great stay thank you
A delightful hotel with wonderful staff.
Amazing boutique hotel with premium service. Their inhouse restaurant, Audreys, was by far the best breakfast/brunch in all of Lisbon.
You can walk everywhere.
Small and quaint. Beautiful hotel and very comfortable rooms. Excellent and helpful staff. Outstanding bartender. Great location in historic old town. Cannot make a mistake with this hotel.
Very nice property in oldest area of Lisbon. Very hilly so guests must be able to deal with hills and steps tho very easy and inexpensive to travel around by Uber. Rooms were well maintained and comfortable. Each unique due to structure of original building. Breakfast was wonderful All staff accommodating.
This is a beautiful hotel, with very helpful & friendly staff. The decor is great, the beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. The neighborhood is fun to walk around and there are many good restaurants.
The Hotel is in a great location and everybody was very friendly! There is a great restaurant and bar on the property also.
Beautiful hotel in Alfama with a good breakfast and helpful staff.
This is a first rate hotel in a beautiful part of Lisbon. Luxury linens, a comfortable bed and a magnificent view of the river made our short stay a special memory. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast onsite. Reception and dining service was exceptional.
Lovely smaller hotel. The staff is the best; shout out to Reuben and Bruno - you made our stay special.
Great location, very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
We recently stayed at Santiago de Alfama and could not have had a better experience. The reception team are super friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Whatever we asked, they were ready to help with and had great answers. The room (101) was beautiful - it overlooks Audrey’s so you might think it would be noisy but not at all. The only time we heard anything was when the saxophonist was playing around 5 pm and we had the windows open. It gave us a lovely vibe with the music. Finally, Audrey’s is excellent. The service is fantastic - we especially enjoyed chatting with Daniel. And the breakfast is amazing although it took a bit to choose from all the amazing options. We also had dinner one night and that too was outstanding. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us with wine selections. We would absolutely stay again and have already recommended it to friends who have stayed and really liked it as well!
Loved it
Beautiful quiet boutique hotel in the heart of Alfama. Within walking distance or certainly a taxi ride of so many things to experience. Hotel was beautiful and the staff is spot on. Would return to stay again without question.
The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing. Meters away from the most popular lookout in Alfama. The staff was so helpful and helped me book restaurants and organize tours. Definitely recommended. I hope to go back one day!
It was absolutely superb. The staff were excellent. Audrey’s was great for breakfast and dinner. The cleaning staff were very kind and efficient. The hotel is superbly located in the middle of Alfama for those keen to explore the local area. Would definitely visit again!
This is a first-rate boutique hotel in the heart of the Alfama. Can't fault it for anything. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Beautiful decor, great location, excellent staff.. friendly and accommodating
The property was excellent and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful! One area of improvement would be to address the ant problem in the room 🐜
Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the old quarter. Recommend a Junior suite with a view over the river. High standards, good staff, very helpful reception/ concierge. Great location. Like most of Lisbon, hotel is on a hill!
Great small hotel in Lisbon
Wonderful boutique hotel- staff friendly and accommodating.
I think it doesn’t belong to a 5 star hotel
Beautifully decorated , staff were very helpful and knowledgeable . Great dining experiences
Beautiful, classy hotel
Wonderful service from start to finish, and a beautiful room with all the amenities. Just a gorgeous spot, wish we could’ve stayed longer!
Amazing boutique hotel recommended by colleague. Lovely staff. Great location Would recommend and stay again if we visit Lisbon again.
Nice
We had a gruelling day of travel and this hotel made up for our 24 hour travel day! The room was wonderful and clean, the dinner and particularly the bar service was wonderful. We had an early departure and they packed a delicious breakfast to go. Thank you!
Rare level of service
Exceptionally helpful staff and great service. Location is also perfect.
Great location and hotel - would stay again
Charming property located in a wonderful location. Service is prompt, polite and efficient. The rooms are marvelous with tons of light and very low noise. Great bathroom and shower.
Family Friendly Five-Star
From the moment we found our driver at the airport until we checked out, it was a five-star experience. They absolutely went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our first trip to Lisbon.
A wonderful experience. Delightful stay, great food, excellent service, beautiful accommodations. I will definitely return to this hotel.
Fantastic choice in Alfama
What a beautiful place!! The breakfast was included in our rate and absolutely amazing. Their cafe/restaurant is a delight and almost convinced us to take every meal there. Room was spacious and well appointed. Staff was friendly and attentive. Fantastic.
A very special hotel
This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. We spent New Years there and it was our first time in Portugal. The hotel is small but lovely and in a perfect location in the best neighborhood in Lisbon. The rooms are charming, the food is fantastic, but the best part of the hotel is the staff. It is family owned and all the people who work there love it like it is their own. We loved every one of them and all of them went out of their way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. They took care of us in a very special way, from the front desk staff, to the lovely ladies who served us breakfast, to the servers at the New Years Eve gala dinner, to the housekeeper who took care of us and made sure our laundry was done the same day when we asked about it. Everyone there was amazing!! They made a very nice small hotel superlative!!
Renovated to perfection. Great decor. Incredibly helpful concierge (esp Beatrice!) and all staff were so very nice. Outstanding location. Truly 5*
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay here. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. We were able to park right out front of the hotel. Dinner at Audreys (and breakfast for that matter) we’re delicious. Our room was amazing - clean and spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Would love to come back any time.
Amazing Weekend
Visited the hotel with friends and got a room in the first floor, room was very big with a very comfortable bed. I had breakfast included and each day I selected something else, everything was very good and the portions were large, all staff were very friendly and helpful . The hotel is located in Alfama and has a small terrace with perfect morning view. It is also very close to many places. I will Definitely return.
I would highly recommend this property, it is the only place I will book again. They were really kind and the room is amazingly beautiful plus don’t forget to ask for their wine - it is soooo tasty!
