I could not arrobe fue yo a rito nearby from Palomino. They did not offer any reimbirsment. The Expedia insurance does not want to pay either. Unvelibable!

Lo unico que esta terrible es la piscina helada, la ubicacion no le ayuda nada, bajo sombra, por lo que ni siquiera se puede mediar la temperatura. Esta Fria, parece una cubeta de Hielo. No hay forma de disfrutar un baño en la pisiscina . El resto,todo bien. la playa agusto.

Es un hotel con un staff increíble , siempre son super amables y dispuestos a ayudar. Habitaciones limpias y nuevas , la cama es cómoda . los restaurantes están super ricos. Si lo recomiendo

Aniversary getaway!

It was an amazing 2 days , the staff are super friendly, the rooms are beautiful all with a balcony and a view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, huge variety. The beach was so tranquil. Highly recommended!

This hotel was a 9/10. It was quiet (minus the airplanes landing nearby), clean (for the most part, shower glass had water stains and didn't seem clean), and peaceful. My stay was everything I needed to celebrate my 50th birthday. My room was upgraded to a junior suite and I loved it. I had a large balcony with a beautiful view of the pool and the ocean. I ordered room service twice and both times the staff was efficient and attentive. Sunday brunch was delicious. Car service was readily available. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave this a 9 was because I had a massage during my stay and it was not pleasant. The young lady did not massage well at all. The oil was cold and so was the room. I had to ask her to warm up the room several times and she did so. Overall, I had a great stay here and will definitely be back.

Beach / sand is full of carbon paticles

The beach is contaminated with carbon and you can see particles on the blacked sand. This was not disclosed, or I would have stayed somewhere else. It was brought up to the hotel management but they didn't even offer a free coffee. Sad.

Beautiful and quite property, perfect for quiet relaxing vacations. Rooms are very comfortable, food and drinks are great. Pool area very nice, beach is ok but we still enjoyed it.

After my experience and spending a few days in Santa Marta, this could be the best hotel and area if you want something quiet, safe, and with great staff service. I would come back to this hotel if I were to travel to Santa Marta again.

We were sold the suite and then removed one day later as front desk informed us the suite was no longer available. Although they tried to make it right it did leave a stain in our trip as repacking and relocating was inconvenient and time consuming.

Outstanding in every respect

The hotel is small but nice and clean. The staff is friendly, but management needs to work on better training to improve customer service for their wait staff in the pool area and Cayeye restaurant. The service was terrible. Everytime I needed something I had to go and order directly at the bar, including chasing the staff around or go myself to the bar dor evey little thing, even to pay my bill. They bring the food and hurry to leave before we could check whether we needed something else or if something was missing. I was looking forward to relaxing at the pool and being able to order some food and drinks for me and my family. But instead, I had to be in the lookout for the staff to be able to order every little thing like water, salt, ketchup and even to go and sign my invoice. The pool and restaurant were not crowded, so it’s not a matter of capacity… they are just clearly not trained for this job. They walk around without looking whether any guest wants something… they just don’t look and pretend not to care. Instead they kept chitchatting among themselves around the bar. Other than that, the hotel is nice and a good place to spend the weekend.

Always happy to be at the hotel. I recommend that to any one who is looking for quiet couples days after few years coming to this hotel I should say it’s about the time to get the menu changed more vegetables on the menu will be really a plus a healthy food options are missing hope for our next stays it will be there anyway I will go back each time I like to rest away from the stressing days I am having in London

This property has an excellent location, beach, amenities, food, etc, is top of the line, but the must important value is the human, I have no complaints about anyone, what a great staff !!! to name just some off them, Maria Jose, Angelo, Genesis, Jesus, Oscar, every front desk employees, thank you very much to all of Marriott Playa Dormida Santa Marta staff for this wonderful experience! My wife, daughter and I, will miss you!

Dirty Beach

I booked this Marriot because it is directly on the beach however there are NO lounge chairs, instead they have cheap plastic upright chairs, so it was too uncomfortable to enjoy the beach. I had to rent a cabana by the pool for three days. This was annoying and the beach was extremely crowded and dirty. The water was dark brown not like clear Carribean water.

Excellent experience. Service and amenities were perfect for our family. Private beach and safe environment.

This is a resort away from the city. 12 dollars cab ride to old town. The property is very nice. include the breakfast with our reservation a must. The breakfast is very good. There are 2 restaurants and they are very good as well. A large pool and beach front

All the staff is amazing, the property is impecable designed, and decorated. I think that they can have more variety of tropicaal fruits at breakfast. It's Colombia! and they have the most amazing and awesome tropical fruits.

The check in was horrible we got there early and expected the room first. People got after us and got their room first. Plus we got our room late. Coffee machine didn’t have a caffeine option only decaf. A couple order for food were not giving how we order them.

My room was facing a roof top and requested to be moved and was accommodated to a pool view. Very clean hotel, Comfortable rooms and a very nice breakfast.

This is a beautiful property that is new and in a beautiful location. The rooms are nice and with nice views. The restaurants on location has good variety but the service is slow. One has to allocate an hour at least for the meals. Even though the property is new and nice the road that leads you to the hotel from the highways is not very good. Even more surprising was that there is no sign on the highway for exit to the the side road for this hotel, despite it being such a prominent hotel.

The food at this hotel was amazing. We did not have a single bad meal, and as an American it was very inexpensive. And the staff was very friendly and very helpful in arranging transportation. The beach is a little more active than what I'm used to - people are trying to sell you bracelets, trinkets, massages, mangoes, beer, but they were not nearly as aggressive as in Cartagena. But you do not have this issue at the pool. The ocean was clear and warm. Weather was perfect beach weather. I liked my room, the bed was comfortable, had a nice balcony, slept well. This hotel is very close to the airport, so planes fly by close, they are very loud for about 30 seconds, but maybe only 10 times a day.

Nice staff, but bedding smelled as if someone slept in beds already for both booked rooms. Requested replacement. Room feels very damp/humid in the sheets. Hotel is a bit limited for transport as taxis not available instead must use their transport at a premium. Some of the vans very uncomfortable no view to the outside. Food at the principle restaurant was mediocre and expensive for what it was. Not many options in Santa Marta but this hotel is a 6.5-7/10

Room not ready until 4:30 pm. We had visitors and hotel requested that visitor register and only 3 people could be allowed in the suite. I have traveled many cities and only question is how many guess. These place check id and took copies ok thier id. Ridiculous .
