Everyone was helpful. Great location and loved the fire pit areas. The bed was so comfortable. There is no pool or gym but the ocean is right outside.

Cost and value don't line up

The carpets are not impressive as they felt grimy and the bathroom had some water damage on the walls and door. We were right off the lobby so it was very noisy. The crew stocked the supply room at 5:30am, so that was unpleasant. The large gap under the door let in light from the hall and sound from other guests. There is an upcharge for everything, so be prepared to pay more than the posted room rate. $25 to park. $10 a day for Wi-Fi. The coffee bar is pricey with no complimentary breakfast. Two scrambled eggs were $10.79. Overall I felt the cost of our stay didn't reflect the value... I won't be back.

Everything was great . I didn't like the parking charges , i would've said anything if they were announced at booking vs arrival. No breakfast either . I feel it was implyed before had . We did enjoy our stay and loved the location.

Our stay was very nice. The only issue was i didn’t realize it had a separate building from the main one and i would have preferred to stay in the main building. The man working the deck restaurant was so friendly

Beautiful location, uncomfortable beds.

Beautiful spot. Room was clean, staff was friendly. The only problem is the beds were uncomfortable. The mattresses were way too soft and squishy like they had been well used. I expect more for the price.

You will pay for every service at the hotel, including parking in their lot, which costs $25 a night. The location is great, but there are other locations at the exact cost and with more excellent service.

our room specifically was very convenient & made it easy for us to come in & out from our room to the car which we loved! location is great close to everything. we did get a handicap room which we aren’t handicap so showering was quite messy but other than that everything was great!

I enjoy that most if not all rooms have a full or partial ocean view. Everything down town is easy walking distance, and you can walk along the beach on a paved walkway to the pier. Direct beach access is also very appreciated, and makes it easy to go out and relax.

Had the best experience at our stay this weekend. Definitely going to go back! Clean and comfy!

We felt unsafe

we didn’t feel safe having the patio open to the main road. There were people frantically knocking our door at 8pm then later during the night. We didn’t feel safe having the atio facing the mai. road and open to the public. Who on earth would like to have a hotel room like that? I would rather have patio facing the beach. Whoever designed that wasn’t thinking of the occupants’ safety. We chose the hotel coz it’s by the beach, and when I booked it says, ocean view, but we were given “street view”. I won’t book this hotel again.

This location felt like home on our 50 hour roadtrip. I loved the "text if you need anything" feature as we had forgotten a bottle opener and someone happily brought one to our room.

The room and view were awesome . The girl who checked me in was kind of short with me and gave me a parking pass but forgot mention it was $25 per day to park in the hotel parking lot .

Lovely hotel. The location is excellent and right on the beach, it is walking distance to the pier, restaurants, etc. We stayed in the main building. Staff was very friendly at check in, and they lend you beach chairs and towels and buckets to take to the beach. It is not a ‘resort’ so there is no pool or anything, only a front patio area-which is nice and comfortable with great views- and there is a small cafe offering some food and drink options. We stayed in the main building and were comfortable. We will likely be back soon!

Don’t be fooled by the photos. The outside patio area is great, but the room was, to my wife and I, was not worth it. Maybe the main hotel is nicer, but the separate building to us was gross. The curtains to the sliding glass doors has dark spots on it like either blood or some other stain. The bathtub has rust on the shower floor and on the outside. The tub itself had a divot in it and water would pool there. Even the water felt off. And, the food/drink area, on weekends closes at 9, but I was told they close at 8 even signs said otherwise. I hadn’t ate all day and wanted food and the lady making someone’s food said that they were closed. The outside patio area is very nice and my kids enjoyed making smores. We had high hopes looking at the photos, but this hotel didn’t live up to the hype. This is the only time my family and I will stay here.

Our room was in a detached building in the back which was a little disappointing. The room we got was comparable to any motel in the area for triple the price. Unless you’re paying for ocean front this place isn’t worth it.

I stayed at the Sandcastle with beach front view and it was the best vacation ever because we were right there on the beach. We had a second story patio, got carry out at a new Mediterranean Cusine up the street. Brought it home with a glass of wine and watched the sun set just about every night. Got up and was out on the beach walking in the water for hours. It was great exercise. They also have great appetizers and wine, breakfast foods that are really good. And the staff are about and about checking to make sure the guests are well taken care of. I liked all of the staff, but superlatives were Brigette and Issac. Just calm happy people who listen to what you need with a friendly smile. A great staff of approachable people. 5 out 5 stars from me.

It has an onsite cafe that has limited hours and is very expensive. Great views and you can't get any closer to the beach.

If you want to go to Pismo Beach it’s fine to stay here. A bit overpriced. The neighborhood is safe but the area has been ruined by developers of condos and hotels. It’s a perfect example of greed and poor city management ruining a gem by folding to builders. Go somewhere else. Limited restaurants. AND don’t pay for parking unless you can’t find it. It’s free and available on the street.

well the location and service at the sandcastle inn is excellent. There are a couple of things I found to be off point. First...charging you ten dollars a day for using their wi fi. First 24 hours are free after that get ready to pay. Second...wanting to charge you $15.00 a day for a microwave in your room. You can be nickeled and dimed to death with little fees here and there. That was a huge turn off. Location is beautiful...rooms were nice but please sandcastle...easy up on the fees for small conveniences you can get free somewhere else.

Close to beach and shopping!

Great location and view of the beach. Enjoyed the amenities the hotel provided and within walking distance to shopping, food, pier, beach and more! Room was clean and comfortable beds. We will stay here again.

Loved it!

I’d asked for a roll away bed and there wasn’t one. The tv didn’t work until we asked for it to be fixed. Plugs didn’t work.

Excellent location and customer services

Our room 100 was looking at first pretty awesome. However, it has a lack of maintenance, some things were almost falling apart, like the kitchen cabinet. The fan in the bathroom was pretty noisy. On the other side of the wall there is an office and we could understand everything since the walls seems so tiny and not insulated at all. Also, charging 25$ a night for the parking seems too much. For the pros, we appreciated the fireplaces on the deck, especially with the cold temperature we had.

No RESTURANT to stay and dine at was disappointing. Room was great but was the only one on the outside of the building room 207. The air conditioning unit made noise when keeping the temperature in the room. Next visit I will definitely ask for a room inside of the building security doors. Location was great and parking was easy to access

Very expensive without any perks

My wife and I stayed here for a night on our way back from san simeon. It is really close to the beach and pismo pier. Property is really well maintained. Check in/out was a breeze. Room is clean and great view of the ocean. We will definitely stay here again.

It is an older property that has been renovated. The bathroom is very small. We did enjoy our stay but I think it is a bit overpriced. It’s yards from the beach and right at the boardwalk area so I think the cost is for the location

Felt more like a motel than a hotel.

We were there early and lady wouldn’t let us check in until after 4 but room was ready the whole time. The room was dirty and walls water stained and bubbling. Bad experience for 600.00 for one night

Everything is walking distance. I was not prepared to pay to park on car at the very hotel I was staying at! Staff is great, nice room. It was showing damage from a flood on 2nd floor. The corners of bathroom floor had debris. Other than that I enjoyed my nice room.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Very nice hotel right on the beach … beautiful views, comfortable rooms and really friendly staff. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire pits at The Deck and loved the coffee and food offered there. Perfect spot to relax! We will definitely stay here again.

Great location and views!

Just steps from the beach, we loved our stay at the Sandcastle Inn. The Deck (lounge restaurant onsite) had quick light bites available almost all day with great views. The hotel has bikes available to rent and an excellent location with a small parking lot for self park. The room was clean and had a comfy bed and a mini fridge, the bathroom was a tad small and the walls between rooms/hallways were super thin. I had a couple work conferences during the day and the people in my zoom call could hear the rowdy children thru the wall next door. I would stay again for a beach visit where I don't plan on having to work from the room most of the day!

Very nice. Clean, cozy, right on the beach and very close to pier. Everyone was so nice. The only bummer was the close the decks and turn off the fire pits early. Especially on a Friday night. It wouldve been nice to chill outside later on a beautiful night.
