Best Room I've Stayed in My Greece Trip

This property is absolutely beautiful. The Family Suite was very spacious and modern. Beds were comfortable. Maria at the reception was absolutely incredible! So helpful and friendly! The only negative is that the property is an uphill hike into town. In the heat, it was challenging and not very convenient. If you have a car, it would be no big deal, but it was not fantastic to have to walk it.

Best Hotel in Santorini. The best part was the staff. They make you feel like family. Best hospitality ever!!

Would stay here again!

Everyone was so friendly. Great food! Beautiful pool. Not located right in the middle of town but can easily walk to wherever you need to go.

Pool image very deceiving

The hotel was lovely. However, I chose this hotel because at Hotels.com the photograph of the pool made it look like a walk-in pool. It was not. I am disabled and I could not get out of the pool. I had to use the pool that was up some flights of steps as that was the only pool I could get out of, I think Hotels.com should pay more attention to the entrances and exits photos of pools as that is very very important to disabled people. Very nice hotel, good people. One thing I didn't like is that the restaurant and pool are not "fully" part of the hotel I think (can't put dinner on room). Its not a problem per se, but we had to spend 50 eur to have a sun bead next to pool.

Spectacular Sunrises

The location is centrally located in a very good area. You can walk to the center of the city if you desire. The suites are gorgeous and the sunrises are spectacular! The ENTIRE staff are fantastic and were ALWAYS eager to assist in all endeavors. I will definitely recommend staying here and I will definitely stay here again. ❤️

The place is very clean and quiet. The only downside was the wifi connection in our room had poor signal, we had to go out of our room just to get a clear signal during our stay. The staff were very nice and friendly. Shout out to Maria from the reception desk, Mario, our guide during the Jeep tour, and Bobby’s, who carried our luggages up and down the stairs. They made our stay worthwhile.

I could talk about this place for hours! The staff here will make you feel like family and they truly aim to make things perfect for you. They offer transportation, dining, and experiences. If you are solo traveling, this place will feel like a dream - safety, convenience, affordability, etc. You are a quick/easy 10 minute walk from the popular shopping area with tons of stores, food places, activities, etc. It’s been 5 days and I miss this place a TON already! Perfect location to Oia as well.

It's a wonderful and clean hotel. We received very warm welcome by concierge and restaurant manager. They provided one stop shop service to arrange tourist activities, Spa and dining in the hotel.

Marina and Bobby made the trip amazing! I’m going back just to see them.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Had no issues with staff (Maria was amazing), property was clean and quite peaceful. Main shops are around a 10 min walk. Only issue I had was with my reservation being cancelled. Hotel said Expedia cancelled my reservation when I didnt arrive at check in ( had flight issues). I had informed hotel on check in date of issue and they said no problem they would still hold room, but when I arrived w/ family we were put into two separate smaller rooms for 1 night and then other night put together. This added un easy rest as we had to move our stuff. When I called expedia they said they are not allowed to cancel reservations and that it was hotel that cancelled ( I assume hotel cancelled and wanted to rent out my room). Besides this issue everything was great.

The staff were always incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make your stay better. The rooms, pool area, and restaurant were lovely.

This was a nice property located within walking distance of shopping area Fira.

Angelina at the front desk was excellent, she gave us great recommendations, we especially enjoyed Santos Winery and our private boat tour. Bobbi was amazing and very helpful, as well. He went above and beyond, carried our, not so light bags, up & down some steep steps. The hotel was very well appointed, we enjoyed the restaurant, Katsaboo, upon our arrival for a fabulous breakfast. The views, the pools were better than the pictures. Also, the location was excellent, walking distance to Thira and all the shops & restaurants. Highly recommend Calm and hope to visit again.

False advertising beware

Extremely pushy and off putting staff at the restaurant on site. The hotel has a separately owned restaurant on site. The restaurant regulates the use of the pool, both when it can be used and doesn't allow hotel guests to use the lounge chairs unless paying 50Euro to them. The hotel advertises free lounge chairs at the pool, but it is not true. It also advertises 35Euro/shuttle but they charged 50Euro each way and said 'its high season' so they changed the price and don't put it on the website or advertising.

Great hotel and restaurant

This was a great hotel. The pool and restaurant on-site were a big plus. Although the restaurant and the hotel were very expensive, the food and the service at the restaurant and the hotel facilities were great. My only complaint is that after having spent 400 euro per night for a room plus hundreds for food and drink, they still initially tried to charge us for use of the lounge chairs at the pool. There wasn't a single seating possibility at the pool that didn't cost extra to sit at. Luckily our rooms had porches with lounge chairs near the pool, so we didn't need to pay for the pool lounge chairs. I could understand maybe having to pay for the "fancy" day beds, but all of the seating was reserved for paying customers.

Lovely hotel with a really nice pool area. Food and beverage very good. Short walk into the town. Would stay there again.

We loved staying here! So clean and Eirini paid extra special attention to us and to detail. Great location and quiet and private. Would recommend!

San Marino is a very nice property with a couple of pools. There is a restaurant on the premises that is separate from the hotel but they do deliver to rooms. The food was excellent. The front desk staff were very good and helpful in making dinner reservations, taxi rides and island info. We stayed in the Aqua Marine room which had it's own pool which was great. We had great views of the sea (not the caldera side). Our room was excellent. Our walk to the shopping area in Fira was ten minutes uphill. I wish breakfast was included but it isn't. The restaurant starts serving breakfast (at a cost) at 9am which was too late for us both mornings so we had to find food on our own.

Stayed here for one night and loved it. Great room, nice pool area and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend

Amazing honeymoon experience

Incredible experience for our honeymoon at San Marino Suites! Right from the moment we stepped off the plane and George met us at the airport the staff couldn’t have been friendlier and done enough for us! They made the stay extra special from start to finish and go the extra mile in everything they do! The hotel itself is based in a wonderful setting with a fantastic pool area next to the Katsaboo restaurant which serves fantastic food and drink all day! The hotel is only a short walk from the local mini market and less than 10 minutes to Fira town centre! We had the Jacuzzi suit which was great to relax in after dinner! We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Santorini and would recommend it to everyone.

A few improvements needed

This hotel has been our favourite but we had some horrible experiences this time unfortunately. 1) They cancelled my booking 1week before our stay and told me to transfer money within 24 hours directly to their bank account if I want to stay. They have understandable reason but I recommend you to book "pay online" to avoid this. 2) Ordered transfer service but the driver was 1hour late as they could not park a car in airport due to the law. Whatever the reason is, other drivers were there on time and we were the only one waiting under heat with many times of "in 5mins!" 3) I asked for discount for delay, but they say by law it is not allowed to do transfer below 35eur in santorini. By the way, the transfer service at the airport arrival area is cheaper than that. 4) Breakfast is not included. It's not written anywhere at site but it is 10eur/person/day for some customers and 15eur for others. They sometimes say it is 15eur for everybody and 10eur was mistake from a new staff. They sometimes say it depends on travel agency or breakfast type. I did not understand at last but they should be clearly written somewhere anyway. (Homepage says it is 10eur but they say it is not valid anymore and charged me 15 x 4person x 2days = 120eur) Other than these issues, this hotel is still perfect. Especially the shrimp spaghetti here is the best in the world!

Calm Collection

The resort itself was nothing short of fabulous. We were in the Aqua Marine Villa and the size was that of a small apartment where our 17 year old had her own room. The private plunge pool was lovely. The breakfast wasn’t anything great but it was sufficient. The staff did everything to make our stay lovely. The cleanliness was a 10+. San Marino Suites was a perfect place for us to stay! It is very close to Fira, yet, not in the center of it where getting in and out is difficult and can be very loud. It is an easy 10 minute walk to Fira. The view was spectacular. It faces East, so you need to get up for the sunrise, not try to see a sunset from the property, but the sunrise was as wonderful as the picture in the advertisement. You can see the sunset from Fira. The staff is 5-Star! Gogo in the restaurant/bar and Bobby (who handled nearly anything you wanted) were real standouts. Everyone on the staff was warm and gracious and gave us great suggestions for meals and things to do. They offered transportation to and from the airport and were very communicative about it, making everything very nice. The pools are wonderful and the drink and food service there is great. Highly recommend.

I liked the small pool. And that’s it. The front desk were useless, rude, and quite obviously making money by referring us to places that gave kickbacks—and none of those ever had availability. NEVER GO AGAIN

A great place, good atmosphere the pool and restaurant were both amazing

Really nice hotel. Staff very nice, and kind, they were very attentive to our necessities.

We liked everything about the property. The food and drinks were amazing. What made it unique was we would come out of our room and the pool was 25’ away. The bar and restaurant was 20’ from the pool. Both overlooked the ocean. The staff was fantastic. There was nothing that we disliked about this place. Nicest people you would ever want to meet.

Self reflection for hotel management

I gave the hotel full credit (sorry, high school teacher here) but suggestions for management: Coffee service needs replenishment (one round doesn’t cut it) Better yet, invest in the self-service coffee machines! Better quality pool towels Provide a variety of breakfast items Other than that, “Book it Danno!”

Friendly service, very quite environment, so unique design and decoration in the property. It is the best one we have had during our trip.

Beautiful property, amazing staff! Mbambis and Stavroula are amazing! Very responsive! Restaurant staff was great and food was amazing! About a 10-15 minute walk into town! If you don’t mind walking I highly recommend this place! 5 star service! Will be back! -Courtney

Beautiful hotel with lovely, friendly staff!

This hotel was absolutely amazing and the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. We had 2 young children with us and there were a lot of stairs but the staff helped us daily with our bags and let us store the buggy at the top in their luggage room. The villa we stayed in was beautiful, spotless clean and spacious. We couldn’t use the pool as it was too cold in March but it looked incredible and the view from it was amazing. We dined in Katsaboo twice and the food was phenomenal. Staff at the restaurant were brilliant - one lady in particular made us all feel so welcome especially the children. They have a free car park and the hotel is walking distance to the town centre. It’s also a great middle point - 15mins drive to Akrotiri and 20mins to Oia. We will definitely stay again and recommend those looking in Santorini.

Reception and people were nice but i reserved a suite for our anniversary and was expecting more for instance the wine could have been placed in our room not at the restaurant i reserved the suite with cave pool but due to no heating we were placed in another room less exciting and with out the cave pool it would've been nice we could've got one of the rooms with the jetted tub but it was not offered ...and we could've payed the difference. And at the end of our stay we were just ready to go i literally froze to the death..

wonderful location

loved the location! 7minute walk to Santorini Square and 10min to the caldera. quiet neighborhood. staff was very helpful and friendly. would stay there again.

We had an amazing stay at the San Marino hotel! We ate at the restaurant, Katsaboo a few times and had great meals and drinks. Impeccable service from every employee! Christina was very helpful with every need. Room was big and spacious too.

Excelent place with nice interior

Amazing place to stay with very nice and tipical interior. Looks even better as in the pictures. The service is excelent and very polite. Close to the center of Fira. Would like to return to this place again some day.

A hotel I will never forget!

A hotel I will never forget. The room was comfortable and had such a cute style to it. The restaurant was amazing! My wife and I said we could of ate all 3 meals at the hotel and would of been completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 10 minute walk to downtown
