A perfect mix!

The location of this hotel is perfect! Very central and in a very busy eatery / bar eara just off from night market and Mekong river restaurants. My room had the most comfortable bed in my 2 week journey through Laos and a very generous shower space. I had the total delight of bring very gently woken by monks chanting their gratitude as morning alms took place. I am a light sleeper but you could easily sleep through this if Wats and monastry are not your thing. The service overall ( laundry, restaurant, housekeeping and front desk were all extremely good and staff are very engaging, there is a really nice 'vibe' at this place and the breakfasts are plentiful, tasteful and most thoroughly enjoyed. Overall a 2 night stay that I would absolutley return to and recommend!

The Right Way to do It.

The hospitality of the staff is unparalleled. Staff waved goodbye as we left. Accommodating to the utmost. The chef in their kitchen is well trained and passionate. The area is central but peaceful, right across from a wat. There is every opportunity to enjoy the California king sized bed. The river is a stone's throw as well as cafes, bars and entertainment. We highly recommend.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Vientiane. Close to nice restaurants, shops, and the river and night market. All very walkable. The breakfast is excellent, offering a wide variety of western and Asian options as well as a menu to order from. The hotel is spotless and the staff are amazing -- they work to accommodate any requests you have. We left on a very early flight and the took up to the airport in their beautiful van and had a bag with both breakfast and lunch prepared for our trip. I highly recommend this property.

Best hotel experience in all of Asia!

I have traveled to more than 60 countries and this is the second time I have stayed at Salana Boutique Hôtel. It is consistently one of the best experiences in hotel living. The ambiance, decor and food are exceptional but the staff are what makes it the best.

Fantastic room. Clean and perfectly appointed. Service is great. My only recommendation is make sure you get a room with the garden view because the street noise is quite loud and runs very late into the night. We paid for Gardenview on purpose, but they upgraded us. Fortunately, we travel with earplugs, so sleeping was possible.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and my opinion hasn’t changed from my previous review in March 2020. This hotel is simply a delight in every aspect and is a must stay for any visitor to Vientiane. I dined extensively in the restaurant this time and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

All of the staff members were so nice, front desk personnel also speaks English which was helpful when asking for directions to the bank, and getting transportation to the airport. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a mix of both western breakfast food and Lao with rice options. The wifi worked well and the place was well air conditioned. Would stay again and do recommend !

Delightful hotel. Excellent on-site restaurant serving imported steaks. Convenient location, short walk to the river and the night market. Hotel is beautifully decorated in a Lao motif. Very clean rooms, ours even had a Jacuzzi. Staff was extremely helpful. Overall highly recommended.

Pricy, but its worth it. An oasis once you step in. Unfortunately, wifi is not stable. But the breakfast made up for it, especially the packed breakfast for early getaway.

Wonderful staff who are so very helpful. Loved the intimate feel of the hotel. Local Laotian artwork found everywher. Breakfast varied and delicious. Rooms could use a touch up. A bit disappointed that room had no balcony as photos seemed to indicate that most rooms do. Overall would stay here again.

Initially given room that was already occupied

The location is convenient, and the restaurant is quite good. The rooms are spacious and clean.

This is my 2nd time staying here. I chose this place over Lao Orchid which use to be my favorite and just down the street. But Salana is my new favorite now. 2nd stay here, I got a smaller room. $68 a night is fair for what you get out of your stay here. The rooms are clean, breakfast is the best so far out of all the hotels I’ve stayed at, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Can I go back now?!

This is such a charming property. Great views of the Mekong River from the room but especially the outdoor bar/restaurant. Food was delicious. The room was clean and cool. It’s an easy walk to restaurants and markets. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

A terrific little boutique hotel right in the heart of Vientiane. I couldn’t fault it and would recommend it to anyone. I used the airport transfer service there and back, which was at a very reasonable price. The one meal I had in the restaurant was excellent.

A pool would have been nice and more resources for the SPA

Hotel with central location and good feel

Hotel is very well located being very central - close to night markets, river, has restaurants around, short walk to main sites. Hotel is in good condition and staff helpful and has a good feel about it. Room comfortable and well appointed. Can recommend.

My stay-honest review

Well located. Comfortable walking distances (easy pace) for all major attractions. Staff (all through) were excellent. Had a very “laid back” atmosphere Yes I would stay here again and recommend to friends Vientiane 3 full day “maximum” stay. Could have done in 2 days if I knew then what I know now

They really keep the property looking nice their neighborhood hotels don’t clean up their areas and lots of trash. To much speeding cars and motorbikes crossing the street to the night market. No police presence at the night market and old women and children grabbing you asking for money.

The Lao personnel that work in this hotel are so helpful and courteous. The Breakfast Buffet is delicious and you can eat Western or Asian. The location is excellent for night market. There were two things I didn’t like. I have friends in Vientiane so if they come to your room and we want to visit they charge you 100,000 kip which is roughly $10.00 and I don’t think 🤔 this is right. Their WiFi isn’t secured and I go to other places like coffee shops, and health spas and they have secured WiFi.

The hotel has very helpful staff. They helped us arrange a morning of sightseeing. The Living Room is a quiete relaxing space on the 4th floor, a few games and books available, cocktails served in the evenings, nice views, nice Laos touch to the decor.

Cozy warm welcoming hotel

Wonderful safe area, great attentive staff that were very friendly. This is in a very safe well lit area and lots of restaurants closeby within minutes. The breakfast had fresh local options and candy sweet fresh fruit. Will for sure stay again when in Laos.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for the 3rd time. That shows you how much we loved this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. They do speak English, which was helpful. Never seem to disappoint! Make sure to reserve your car reservation pick up from the airport to the hotel or hotel to the airport ahead of time. It's very convenient! The gift shop is a MUST SEE if you don't have time to check out the night market to purchase souvenirs. Last year, they even wish my mom a Happy Birthday when we stayed there. They sing and took picture with the hotel's manager. It was a nice touch. Thank you Salana Boutique Hotel. Hope to see you again!

Property is in good condition, clean, safe, quiet in the late evening except 5:30AM morning alms, where you could hear monks chanting. Staff are friendly and front desk customer service is excellent! Would stay here again.

Temple location

Great location very near the night market and has a temple in the front and back of hotel, alms giving takes place outside the hotel every morning. The rooms ar are comfortable and spacious. The Stand our is the very friendly and helpful staff and the fantastic breakfast

Ritz level service!

Exceptional service! We stayed at a Ritz Carlton for a few nights before coming to Laos and staying here. To be honest the level of service was the same. The entire staff was incredibly kind, helpful and went out of their way to ensure you were comfortable. They were out of bananas at breakfast and the manager went and bought some for my 9 month old daughter. Now that is going above and beyond! Rooms are standard, very comfortable and quiet with a big shower which was nice. There’s an elevator so it’s easy to get around without stairs. The breakfast was great! Egg station and buffet. We also enjoyed the lamb and goat cheese burger for lunch with ice cold Beer Laos! All of which was delicious. The hotel can arrange a private driver to go to the highlights of the city. We did this as we were short on time, it worked really well to see some of the main points of interest in just a couple of hours. Price was ver reasonable and fair. If we’re ever back in Vientiane we will be staying here!

It was an amazing and fantastic hotel in Vientiane. Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. I love their healthy and fresh breakfasts, we can enjoyed continental and Laos styles. Location was good, easy to access to night market, historical places.

The room was quite nice. The restaurant was pleasant and of good quality but the menu should offer more choices. A small gym would have ben nice and, as it was extremely hot in Vientiane, a small pool would have been most welcome. At least maybe a bar on the rooftop.

Very nice hotel in the historic part of Vientiane. Very close to bus stop A5 from the airport. At the end of the street lies the Night Market, which is one every evening. I enjoyed my first stay so much, I re-organised my travel to stay here again!

The property is perfectly located as it’s off the Main Street and feels quite secluded from the city. It’s across the street from a temple and right down the street is the Mekong river and night market. Many of the major sites of the city are within walking distance. The staff were excellent and friendly. Breakfast had a good variety and drinks at night on the upper floor gave a view of the river and sunset. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Without a doubt this is the best hotel in Vientiane. First of all, Location Location Location! The hotel is very centrally located in the heart and center of the city which was very convenient. Second, the room was exquisite and was very comfortable. The breakfast and the spa were also wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vientiane and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Only one negative thing and that is the room supplement charge. I thought that was a bit unfair, insulting, and very uncommon for a hotel to do that. It does sour the customer's experience and gives off the impression that the hotel is spying on you. This is a great hotel, but it would be a perfect hotel without that fee.

I had a lovely room with a balcony where I could watch the monk’s traditional morning alms ritual without being intrusive. The hotel staff was excellent - very gracious and responsive and knew me by name after the first hour there. I am a woman traveling alone and felt very safe and secure. The restaurant food was delicious with lots of options. And the gift shop that is connected to the hotel is one of the best (in terms of high quality merchandise and pricing) that I saw in Laos. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

The staff were wonderful ! Jogyi and his colleagues all did their best to ensure that I felt comfortable. They went out of their way to assist me in understanding and participating in a special Buddhist festival that took place during my stay.

Nice hotel with excellent location in Hanoi. Helpful staff, many with excellent English skills. Restaurant & coffee shop on site. Excellent buffet breakfast with Vietnamese or Western food.

Great boutique hotel

I enjoyed my stay as always. Hotel location in very convenient, staff amazing, rooms clean, quiet and a delight to stay in.

I had minimal expectations before getting to the hotel. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Every one is friendly and it’s various establishments within walking distance. Th bathroom had every piece of hygiene item you would need. I can’t remember the last hotel that had a tooth brush, tooth paste, lotion, comb, etc. I am not sure I’ve ever seen a brand new comb in a hotel bathroom.... I was impressed. I would stay here if I ever visited d Laos again.

Good hotell with extremely nice and friendly staff

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotell. It has a very good location, good breakfast, room is very big and clean. The best part is the extremely nice and friendly staff.

The hotel was situated in the heart of Vientiane. Great location !......and possibly the best hotel in the area. The accommodation was excellent and overall the staff were great,.....although I was very disappointed that on returning to the hotel one night my girlfriend was confronted by the duty manager when she was with me and asked for her passport in local language that I did not understand.....when I understood what he had asked her for , and why ?.....I was not happy with this UN-professional request.

Excellent location

The Salana Hotel is very nice and it could be considered one of the best in Vientiane. I have been to other places, but I consider the Salana as the best option. It is centrally located, close to many good restaurants and the staff is welcoming and polite. Great option!

I have been to Vientiane multiple times, but had never stayed at Salana. I had however walked passed it a few times on previous trips to Vientiane, and always admired it from the outside; it always seemed cozy and welcoming to me. This year however I decided to book 2 nights with my partner, and it was a great choice indeed. The staff were super warm and ready to help with any queries that we may have had. The rooms were clean and quite spacious, with very fast wifi. One of the best things about the Salana however, is the free breakfast buffet that every guest has access to. The food is really of a high quality, and there is so much choice on offer. I ended up leaving extremely full but happy both mornings that I was there. I would recommend this hotel to anybody stopping off in Vientiane, and I am surely going to return at some point. The location is also really quite central as well!

Quality hotel near night market

Very helpful staff. Safe and clean. No scenic views. Excellent breakfast. Nice Shuttle with AC costs $15 for half mile trip to morning market or airport but they give a special price of $10. Three star.

Clean, comfortable and centrally located. Quite beautiful as well. It really is a lovely hotel to stay in. They recommend excellent tours and ways of traveling to where you need to go. They also have a good restaurant for breakfast.

Exceptional service

This was my second stay. The staff is a very professional cadre of young Lao who are multilingual with exceptional service skills. It's a reflection of the owner. I was assigned a room in the "back of the hotel which work out well as I am a light sleeper. The last time, my room was on the fourth floor but along the front Chao Anou Road, a very busy and noisy street. Bed is not the typical hard bed one finds in my local hotels/hostel. Mattress pads are great!

Wonderful place to stay

Really lovely hotel. The passionfruit juice welcome drink was such a refreshing welcome after our hot trip to town. The staff are very helpful and professional. Room was really clean and modern and the bed was comfortable, especially compared to the hard ones that are standard around the region. Had a great stay and would definitely come back.

Well located boutique hotel
