Nice and quiet property but beach is not swimmable, small resort, only 1 restaurant on property so limited food options. Room was nice and mosquitoe measures were appreciated.

This is a boutique resort: small and elegant with excellent service. The room was very nice with a large balcony and bathroom. To access the bathroom there is a big pivoting glass door which is a bit annoying to push open: it is heavy and gets stuck to the curtains which assure privacy when using the bathroom.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Perfectly situated by the beach, and fantastic pools. Staff were so attentive and was great to have regular ice water given to us on the beach and evening turndowns. Would absolutely recommend the hotel, although not much to do in the Chongmon area and is a touristy area.

Loved our visit. especially the villa with private pool. All of the hotel staff were great. But Ms Mam stood out. Always seeking us out to make sure we were having a great time and to offer up any help. She is such an asset to Sala and we miss her already. The online payment link we needed to do in advance is arriving was a great stressor as it didn't work for us. Sure hope that gets worked out soon.

We stayed in a pool villa and it was wonderful. Great food. Breakfast included with our room. Nice smaller beach in comparison to mega towns and beaches. Great restaurants we were able to walk to including The Mother and Bay Leaf. Staff are very helpful. Great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff and resort. But I just can’t get over the open bathroom in ALL rooms. I thought it was only in the suites. Can’t leave anything in the bathroom as flies are always in and out. So keep your toothbrush etc in the room. No place to actually stand to shower. Must be inside GIANT bathtub. If you’re disabled, have kids or have bad balance it will be very difficult as it gets very slippery. ‘5 star’ but can’t keep slippers. Unbranded slippers at 300 baht if you take them lol. Toiletries have been watered down. Turndown service includes fruit. Breakfast good but restaurant little bit too small. It felt like you were sitting right next to the other guests. Beach is not clean. Dirtiest beach in Samui. It’s not the fault of the staff just tourists who think it’s fine to litter. Request to extend check out was granted so helpful. Standard room small and hard to move around. Too much space wasted in bathroom and balcony. Location is dead. Nothing to do apart from go to 7/11, crappy little cafe and restaurant.

We absolutely LOVED our time at SALA Samui Choengmon! The staff were all very sweet, accommodating, and helpful. The property is just large enough where everything feels easily accessible and well-spaced. Our private pool was the highlight of the property, as it's so nice to be able to take a dip (in the humidity and heat) without having to leave our own space. Happy hour by the beach was wonderful, as they're located on the quiet and less busy end of the beach (and island) -- could not have asked for a better vacation!

Best resort In Samui

Beautiful accommodation on the best beach location In Samui. If you’re looking for a resort to stay look no further this is your place. I went solo and had a great time. The staff is very fast and helpful. The food is well prepared and delicious. My only issue is the taxis parked at the resort they charge you far more than the taxis do in in town so be careful picking a taxi at the resort. I rented a scooter for a week and it was the best decision I loved traveling around the island on moped scooter and seeing all the sites.

We loved our private pool. That is why we booked. But the access to the beach was also very nice. The restaurant had limited options but the food was good. If we had time, we would return.

Exceptional

Exceptional experience at Sala: the adult lap pool is gorgeous; beach is powder soft white sand and the SUP were an added bonus; happy hour made us very happy; the breakfast was divine.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff, facilities and food were unbelievable. It's a perfect place for either a romantic getaway or a family holiday. The pool villas offer complete privacy. Both the villas and the shared areas are beautifully designed. We will most definitely be back.

Blissful stay

Pick up at the airport and check in both provided a wonderful first impression. The staff are all lovely and helpful. The resort is beautiful ( and kept so by the hardworking staff ) and the beach is lovely and clean. We stayed in a garden pool room which was very comfortable. The atmosphere is one of calm and tranquility. Food in the restaurant is excellent. Bar service also good. Would definitely stay here again. We hired a car which was a very good and safe way of seeing the island. Do NOT hire mopeds. Friends saw one fatal accident and we saw 3 other accidents within an hour of driving around.

What is 5 star these days???

We picked this Hotel from a list of all 5 star resorts in Koh Samui. Once we saw the room and pool area it was difficult to understand how this is rated a 5 Star. The staff are very helpful, friendly and very welcoming. The food at breakfast was really nice and plentiful. But the Hotel in general is in need of a face lift, perhaps it was because I booked through Hotels that we got a tired room. We visited another two resorts including Anantara and these really impressed and were more akin to 5 star that I'm used to. Overall we enjoyed the Yoga, the food and the service was great but the room for what we paid was not 5 star.

Beautiful and peaceful setting. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely spa. Hotel taxi service cheaper than grab. Fantastic breakfast with set menu and buffet. Relaxation was let down by noisy construction nearby, sadly. Otherwise very good stay.

Enjoyable stays

The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. The service is good too. The villas is clean however the furnishings look tied and old and there are too mosquitoes . The beach is really good. Overall I did enjoyed my stays there.

An excellent property set on a quiet beach in a small resort town. Ideal for couples looking to get away from it all. The pool villas are very comfortable and with temperatures in the low 30s we used the private pool every day. It is the staff who really make this hotel a 5 star experience though and nothing is too much trouble for them: pick up from the airport was super in an air-conditioned car, check in was seamless (pillow and scent selection preferences noted), the villa was spotless and service at the restaurant was attentive but not intrusive. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the a la carte breakfast menu was varied enough to have something different the entire week. Choemong beach is small but has several restaurants (both attached to and independent from other hotels) so that you can try other dining experiences too although dinner at the Sala was hard to beat.

Paradise in Paradise

Lovely hotel in a more quiet part of Koh Samui at Choengmon Beach. We had amazing villa with a private pool. Rented the Garden Pool Villa, think we upgrade to Sala Pool Villa, both are very similar in the photos. Took advantage of the free kayak and stand up paddling boards for loan on the beach. The breakfast buffet is exceptional, with a la carte ordering so you can also get made to order food complimentary as well. The hotel is by the beach but also tucked into its own nature, so very lovely grounds around the hotel. Also had air conditioned business center to wait in while until our 2pm check-in. The margherita pizza (buffalo mozzarella) and fish gyros were very good. Evening happy hour at the beach bar 2-for-1 also hit the spot. I guess the only downside was the beach at Chaweng Beach where we stayed at Banana Fan had a sandy bottom beach, whereas this one was a little bit courser with some rocks, but still very suitable for swimming. I look forward to coming back to this destination resort!

Very beautiful property! The greeneries are soo pretty and there are many different colour water lilies by the reception and pool. The pool is very pretty too. The staffs are great and will tend to your requests very well. The breakfast is awesome too.

The excellent private pool, and the nice staff everything is good for me

You can reach the key attractions in 15-20mins, staff is all nice and friendly. The resort provides many activities which can stay relaxed whole day in the resort from morning yoga to swimming / beach activities. 2 times housekeep make your room always clean, and the resort makes you feel like staying in the nature.

Spectacular resort

We were wrapping up a longer trip and the Sala Choengemon was our final stop. We could not have picked a better place. We loved everything about the resort - from details like choosing our preferred soap to the direct beach access and delicious breakfast. The staff were outstanding. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Special experience

We have been arranged to live in Six Senses as there are renovation work nearby. The service in the hotel is excellent and facilities and food are terrific. It was raining heavily on our last day and we were in flooding area with our car. We request the hotel to bring our luggage direct to the airport so we did not need to drive back to the hotel to passs by flooding area. The hotel was quick in response and our room buddy also came with the hotel transportation, and we were so relieved and grateful.

Great place

I stayed at the resort for 4 nights, even it was raining all the time, that it was a dissapoitment ... the resort was very comfort , nice , and the manager Pam was very nice and kind, she helped us with every problem we had.

Our best vacation ever

My husband and I spent a magical week at SALA Samui Choengmon Beach. The resort, beach and food were all exemplary, but the experience as a whole was put over the top by the warmth of the wonderful staff.

If I could I would live here, would return again and again.

Absolutely the best place ever. Fabulous views. Excellent buffet breakfast provided. Breakfast served 24 hours. Fantastic swimming pool and lap pool is gorgeous. Black rock and surrounded by stunning water lily ponds. Villa is awesome. Every thought has been given to the extreme comfort of the guests. Choice of lotion and soap in your bathroom. Bath salts. Huge outdoor bathtub and shower. Mosquito netting all around the bathroom area can be closed or open. Bed is super comfortable. Bird calls at night can’t be heard in the room but if you step out it is like being in the jungle. We had a problem with the stairs on the balcony and the management was very accommodating and allowed us to upgrade to a villa. No hassle. Cups of Ice water delivered to your pool side lounge as well as fresh fruit in the afternoon. The pool was fabulous. Really fabulous. Views of the beach from the pool and breakfast buffet. Calm waters. Had a hamburger grilled by the pool it was truly delicious. Hope you are getting the drift that this is a wonderful place with wonderful people. Also you can take a short walk to access mini market and local eateries. I will definitely be going back.

Excellent attentive staff. The chef is very good, what is more very creative. Spa personnel is efficient and thoughtful. The beach is clean and not crowded. The fitness equipment is limited but I am sure it can be improved in the future. Overall the hotel has a very pleasing atmosphere.

Great staff and really nice environment. However did notice hotel is starting to look a bit rusty here and there but restaurants and everything else is great!

The villa is very private with outdoor bathroom and the breakfast is amazing with both Thai and western variaties. Outside the resort, there are family mart, 7-11, massage stores and great local restaurants within 5 minutes walk which I find very convenient.

1. Sala staff go above and beyond to make you comfortable. -Waitstaff encourage you to order many things on the breakfast menu at no additional charge or judgement. -Pool boys proactively help you choose a spot on the beach and set up your towel, bring you water etc (even if you offer to do it yourself). -Spa ladies prepare your shoes for exiting the treatment, which is just a nice little extra touch that adds to the relaxing vibes. -Complimentary movie by the beach nights, stand up paddle boards and kayaks to borrow. 2. The room -You get to select one out of four scents (ylang ylang, lemongrass, black sesame seed, or lavender) for them to swap out all your soaps, lotions and amenities for. -Coffee Pod machines in the room makes pretty decent coffee. -There is an abundance of staff dedicated to each block and are fast to refresh rooms. - will replenish your drinking water for free -turn down service targets pest control. 3. The Day Spa -Value for money; more expensive than the little huts on the beach or tacky stalls along the main road, but it is way cheaper than what you’d pay in Australia for an indulgent session. We paid AU $400 for a couples package which entailed 30 min body scrubs, 45 min body wraps (includes head massage), and 45 min full body massages (of our choice). We did this in the confines of a private suite, and had one massuse each. There was also a private washroom attached, a safe for our belongings etc.

Great Hotel!

We spent four days in this hotel and loved it. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are clean and spacious. The outdoor terrace is a lovely place to start or end your day.

Stunning grounds. The pool area is magnificent. Our pool villa is serene and stunning; clad in linen and gossimer. Solid gym, kayaks, paddle boards, and yoga classes are complimentary. The staff is gracious and helpful. It’s the little touches: jasmine and orchid wrist lei upon arrival, ice water delivered to your lounge chair ... it all feels like paradise 🙏

I loved this place- room was beautiful. There was a slight odor in the room, but I just left the Four Seasons and it was the same there, I think it’s just partly that we are in a humid climate. I would totally come back here again, if I am lucky enough to return back to Koh Samui!

Absolutely fantastic

You can see the 5 stars all over this hotel. The room was incredible and impecable, the service was outstanding, every night they had a different activity, all the staff did everything they could to please you. Super clean, food was incredible, rooms were fantastic. They also arrange your own private tours of the island at the same price as public tours, and take care of you so so well.

It was just amazing. The room might be not the biggest one (room category: balcony deluxe), but who is inside at these temperatures? It has enough of deck chair closed to the pool and by the beach and there was a day-bed on the balcony too. So you will not spend a lot of time inside.... Therefore, the size of the room was fine for us. All the staff are super friendly and helpful - absolutely great service! The whole hotel complex is in good condition. They provide large breakfast buffet and diverse activities (eg yoga, thai language courses, cinema by the sea.....). Furthermore, there are two different pool - 1 for only adults (good to swim (laps), and 1 for everyone.

Sala Samui remains our favourite place to stay. Special service at all times, amazing breakfast, comfort and relaxation guaranteed. Wifi is still a pain, need to log in to different hot spots when you move round resort. Overall will return Year on Year and recommend highly.

Amazing hotel. Must stay if vacationing in kosamui

If you are visiting Koh Samui and are looking for the perfect 5star hotel you must stay at Sala Samui. The service, the rooms and the hotel grounds are impeccable. Everyone from the service desk to the cleaning staff to the maintenance personnel are amazing. Everyone is constantly greeting you and making sure all your needs are met. It’s a cab ride away from chaweng but the hotel has a taxi driver at the entrance for whenever you need. The breakfast is delicious, the pool is amazing and the beach is beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel, you won’t go wrong with booking here.

Garden Villa Holiday

Worth your consideration. The property is gorgeous and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Here's a breakdown in each of the categories that matter to me: Property and Room: The grounds and public spaces are immaculate. The garden villa we were in was very well appointed, comfortable, and clean. A terrible coffee maker, a room safe with no instructions and a low battery warning, and a doorbell that didn't work for when staff stopped by were bothersome. Staff: The entire staff was friendly and accommodating and would do their very best to fulfill your requests. You are met with a smile and a wai everywhere you go. Some of the staff speak English better than others so be sure to pack your patience and good humor. Food: Overall food was good. Breakfast should be included with your stay, and if you go to the buffet there's a good selection and variety of food and you can also order additional items from the kitchen. Coffee comes from a machine in the kitchen, it has caffeine in it. Don't expect more. Breakfast in your room is available all day. Communication/ WiFi: WiFi was pretty good, but you don't have a dedicated node. Instead you have to connect to a hotspot and log in with a username and password about every 4 hours. E-mail communication with the property was terrible. They will send you messages but replies will either bounce-back or not be monitored. Call the property if you have questions. Overall, we had a great time. I hope this information helps.

Amazing hotel with really friendly and helpful staff, we always felt so calm and welcomed during our stay, also the courtesy yoga classes were great Definitely recommend this hotel if you're staying in Koh Samui. Restaurant was astounding, really great breakfast service they provide also they are very versatile by having a different theme or event on at the restaurant each night.

It was such a magical place. The staff is amazing! So beotuful! The only complaint is there is no complimentary hotel shuttle to anywhere and it’s no cheaper than a taxi. This was the most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in, the private villa was phenomenal.

It was simply amazing

Sala so amazing

I usually stay in very very high end hotels so I am a picky reviewer and this hotel was a 10/10 there was some construction going on that was very annoying but the hotel staff were awesome and relocated us and gave us a free dinner. Breakfast quality was beyond amazing. The end of our trip we booked another hotel to shake things up and to give you an idea that hotel was $1,100 CAD per night and other than the unbelievable view at that place I would still prefer the Sala. At 250-350 CAD a night this hotel offers amazing value.

Heaven on earth

From the start of our stay to the end, the experience at SALA was just outstanding. We stayed in a private pool villa and it was absolutely gorgeous. The photos don’t do it justice. Everything you could possible want/need is catered for. For me, it’s the little things that make a difference. Daily turndown service with a different delicious fruit infused tea and handwritten ‘goodnight’ note from Chef Davide. Daily insect management program to keep mosquitos at bay. For someone who is usually attacked by mosquitos in the tropics - I didn’t get a single bite!! For me, this is tantamount to a miracle. The resort grounds, the food, the service and above all else, the staff - everything is superb. Nothing is a trouble and genuine smiles and friendly greetings meet you everywhere, from the gardeners to the housekeepers, waitstaff to the reception employees. The most enjoyable and memorable hotel experience of my life. We’ll be back!

Absolutely amazing resort

Upon entering the SALA compound there were lots of bars and restaurants. There is also a convenience store close by and local tour shop, so renting a car or a tour was very convenient. The lobby of SALA had an amazing comfort and greeted with friendly staff that can speak very fluent English and also Mandarin. Because we have arrived earlier than check-in time, we were provided with another room to rest first before our room is ready. What an amazing hospitality. After we were adjusted to our room, which was beyond comfortable, we took a walk by the bar and beach. It is incredibly relaxing and comfortable. I will be back again and for a longer period of time.

Entirely wonderful resort. Well-maintained grounds, beachfront and get strange. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner a bit pricey but well prepared.

Amazing experience staying here! The staff are very attentive. They even sent flowers and checked in on my sick boyfriend during our stay. The resort itself is heavenly. The rooms, the grounds, the restaurant, pools are all beautiful and very luxurious. I took lots of photos to show off to my friends on social media! Very IG worthy ;) The breakfast was UH-MAZING, and FREE. Some memorable choices were the endless supply of fresh juices and smoothies, and honey off an actual honeycomb. We stayed in a villa with a private pool and barely left our room. I preferred it over the beach only because the shoreline next to the resort is murky, and with lots of sludge. The beach is located inside a small cove, which is why....but the main upside was there weren't a lot of other tourists sharing the beach. Went in early July. There was a couple days/nights of rain...
