Location is great near Bridge and old Town. Great recommendations for restaurants. Only downside a little noisy. Nothing earplugs won’t resolve
Absolutely beautiful location, staff was very nice.
Fantastic location at the heart of the old quarter; walking distance from all tourist attractions; on street parking included; portable a/c units. Recommended.
We absolutely loved this hotel. The young lady who checked us in was fantastic, she offered complimentary beverages upon arrival and was very knowledgeable. Our room was located in the backside of building and was very quiet (contrary to other reviews). We had an amazing balcony that overlooked the beautiful city. Kitchen was fully equipped and the bathroom offered a large soaker tub. Very convenient (right at doorstep) to shops, bars, and the sights.
Excelent service
I am very satisfaced for the service, i had some problems in my journey and the received me at 2.00 am, i am very glad. Excellent service.
Don’t think of this as a hotel but rather a studio apartment with local tenants. Be mindful of the elevator weight, if it breaks you’ll fix it. Also, lock every door you walk through. We received three keys to get into our apartment and we did feel safer with the doors being locked but this area doesn’t seem that bad. The apt itself is wonderful. We have a view of the city. Also, it’s perfectly located to everything!
Less than impressed
Hotel less than impressive, but fantastic location. Breakfast served from 08.30 due to a lack of staff (far too late for a lot of travellers) The apartment is clean and new but lacks character. I had to wait until 9pm for my bed sheets to arrive - again due to lack of staff, the receptionist being the only staff member on duty and not able to leave her post. Not very customer friendly!
Charming hotel near all the attractions. Staff was attending and kind. We had the buffet breakfast with our reservation and were pleasantly surprised at the variety of food to choose from. Fantastic stay.
Hotel was fine, except for small bugs in the ceiling. Food was served and not buffet due to covid. However, we weren't asked what we wanted, so we were just served almost all at once, so i believe the food waste with this concept is pretty high, because at no mornings were we able to eat all...
Very good location. Consider the best as itv s right in the centre of activity. Service staff is excellent and breakfast is very good.
Location is perfect two minutes from Charles Bridge Excellent staff couldn’t do enough for me, Room clean and comfortable 5 minutes walk from airport metro Very warm room and full kitchenette if you’re on a budget
Nice experience
It was really nice
Prague
Excellent location and service. Limited amenities including no shampoo or bath products. Overall it is an excellent property
Fantastic accommodation option in the heart of Prague. Large, airy, warm and comfortable hotel. Fabulous staff, lovely breakfast - home made waffles, cooked for you! Lovely bathroom and comfy bed and pillows. Right in the heart of the old town - but quiet and spacious. I would highly recommend, and will absolutely be back!
Hotel manager apologized.. we were sleep deprived
Good area but Pub on ground floor plays loud music until 2:00-3:00 am. We got No sleep!
This place was huge and in a great location, the only issue I had was the running water was rusty, I let it run for a while but it was still rusty. Besides that it was great.
The location of the hotel is in a busy touristy area, just 200m away from Charles bridge and 500m away from Old town square. That means easy access to attractions, but also a faint singing in the background can be heard from the pub below, till 1030pm or so. It wasn't disturbing though. The studio room we stayed in was very nice.
Good location , nice breakfast , nice staff. They were nice and helpful, rooms are clean. For the price we pay and it’s worth.
Nice hotel in a great location
This is a very nice boutique hotel located in a heritage building right in the heart of old town Prague. Rooms were very well maintained and modern. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Most main attractions were only a easy 5-10 minute walk
Great location for square, restaurants and bars
Just a very short walk from the Charles bridge and Main square
It doesn't get any better than this
Awesome room ! Excellent location GREAT STAFF
Nice location, walking distance to most of the attractions.
Awesome!
The reception was amazing! The man that helped us went out of his way to make our stay amazing! We arrived early after an all night train and we went to drop of our luggage at the hotel and he was nice enough to let us get into the room a few hours before check in! The room was very spacious and really clean! Local was perfect!
Nice Apartment in the Prague old city
These apartments have all been recently renovated. It is situated in the old city approximately 100 metres from the Charles Bridge. The rooms were very quiet and no street noise.
Girls in Prague
Really good for large groups or just a room of 6-8. Very central and close to Charles Bridge, Old Town Square and other tourist attractions.
Excellent ubication
The best how i can describe this hotel are one of the best ubications hotels in Prague.
good value for money nice staff
Great hotel in the heart of old town. Perfect spot
In walking distance to everything you need from bars to restaurants. Great spot would recommend to anyone looking to stay.
Good central location and apartment sized unit
The location is perfect and very convenient to walk to all attractions. Breakfast was good. Room view was very good on the 6th floor. Some noise at night from the pub crawl. Needs improvement with amenities, soap, shampoo and conditioner, heat control as well as the key lock. Sometimes it's hard to remove the key, but we found a trick, have to push in the lock on the side of door so the key can be removed. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place.
Great location! Lots of options.
Overall this location was really central to all week wanted to experience which was awesome. Upon our booking they had reached out and asked if we needed a baby crib since they noticed we had an infant with us. One was in the room when we got there. Where to go to check in was confusing which is why I'm rating it slightly lower in service. Additionally, the website mentions parking but didn't expand on it. While I expected we may have to pay for it, there was no cost or instruction on what that was our how it worked. Upon arrival we learned the parking pass was already being used by some one else and we ended up having to park half a mile away. It was a secured garage which was nice but I would have liked to know the options before arrival. The food, shopping, and accessibility for walking was perfect for us. And while the residence was right in the heart of old town shopping, you didn't hear it in the room. It was also more of an apartment with access to cooking on your own of preferred.
Amazing renovated luxury place, but loud street
Excellent apartment, clean, modern, luxurious well decorated and expertly renovated, with many amenities furnished. It has a state of the art Jacuzzi but we could not make it work (the hosts should provide a simplified user manual on a sheet of paper). No AC but two fans were available. Excellent posh area near the high end shops (Cartier, Vuitton, Gucci, etc.), but beware at night it becomes a loud area as the neighborhood is known for its party-goers and party places. Great powerful wi-fi.
Hidden Gem in Prague
This was the most surprising hotel I've stayed at in recent memory. unassuming building and cheap costs are washed away when you walk into a spacious studio apartment with kitchen. Sure, the furniture is from IKEA, but the place was clean and spacious and best of all had air conditioning that you could control. Right in the heart of the old town, restaurants and sites are literally at your doorstep. I just wish we could've stayed longer! .. Only downside was a slightly too soft pillow.
Great location. We were close to the Charles Bridge, Astronomical Clock and many, many stores.
Royal Road.
Amazing location, perfect place to stay with group of friends or on a Hen/Stag party.
In the center of action.
loved the location, very close to Chain Bridge, and lots of room.
Great location, strange set up. But works for me
An apartment building converted partially into a hotel. Strange set up. Didn't eat the breakfast, but they have it. Location is as good as it gets right in the middle of the old town.
Nice little place nice breakfast, a bit far
Nice little place nice breakfast, a bit far
Great location
The hotel is in a great location, it's within walking distance to restaurants, bars, attractions and the train. The building it very old however the room was very nice and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. My only complaint would be about noise from other guests, anyone who is walking past your room is easily heard. Although this wouldn't be as big of an issue if other guest could be a little more respectful. Overall I was very happy and would recommend this hotel.
great place in great city
great room, staff and location
Great location for Old Town, Charles bridge
Pros: Really good location for exploring Prague Old Town. Very close to pubs, restaurants, etc. Very friendly staff! Very nice breakfast buffet - hot and cold items, fresh fruit, cereal. Spacious room. Cons: Small sign out front, easy to miss. Checkin is on 2nd floor (to Americans), have to ring doorbell to get in, although we didn't have that problem (someone was entering at same time so let us in). If you have a room on 6th floor, beware the elevator only goes to 5th floor. Gas stove in our room did not ignite, staff came up & left a cig lighter to get it going.
Perfect location, close to everything. Staff where very helpful and got anything you needed
You can hear music from the Irish pub below the hotel until 1am every night. So if you are a light sleeper that goes to bed early I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Basic but clean
The apartment was ideally situated, clean, basic. It's a stones throw from Charles bridge. There is a bit of noise from surrounding clubs but did not find this disturbed us too much. Ideal for a base if you are not too worried about luxury.
In the city
Stayed overnight I was pleased at the reception very nice lady I would recommend
Good location; minimal on furniture and bedding
Would not take much to make the rooms a bit more comfortable by adding and upgrading furniture (mainly cheap ikea for now) w/o enough lamps, chairs. Even bedding sheets, pillows and covers were minimal. Good location and concept to have rooms as full apartment in residential building. Friendly staff. Would need to ensure early keys drop-off would be possible on the premises before 8:30am (opening time office & breakfast).
Great location and reasonable
Great location in central Prague. 2 minute walk to Charles Bridge. Clean and convenient. Nice kitchen. Easy to get to everything
Excellent location
Located right in the centre of the old town between the old town square and the Charles Bridge - fantastic
Couldn't ask for a better location
Lovely apartment right in the old town at the foot of the Charles bridge. Close to everything, spacious apartment with full bath. Would definitely stay here again.
Needs Work!
Pros: This hotel is right in the middle of things: 5 minutes walk to old town square and 3 minutes to Charles Bridge. It was also very clean. Cons: The hotel is impossible to find. The placard sign is the size of a sheet of printer paper inside the entry way. You must ring the bell for entry but there is no indication which button is the bell for the hotel. At check-in, half the light bulbs in our unit were burned out. Since it was Sunday, no one could replace them so we waited until Monday. The beds were the worst we've ever slept on. They were cheap IKEA beds with slats supporting the mattress. Many of the slats on our bed were either broken or missing so the mattress had no support. So we slept on a sinking mattress. The sheets didn't fit and so the solution was not new sheets of the right size but using 2 sheets on the mattress - didn't really work. The heat for the unit is provided by space heaters. Fortunately, the weather didn't require that we use them. There is a kitchen, but cookware was minimal. When we arrived the fridge was unplugged, maybe to save energy, but that meant that we had to wait for it to cool down before we could put our cold items in it. Breakfast was minimal in a very small, cramped space. But if you have a sweet tooth it may be just right for you. At least 1/3 of the offerings were cookies and cakes. I can't recommend this hotel. They are running it cheap and it shows. Location is not worth the negatives; especially for the price.
Location great; hope you can handle the noise
The apartment is located in the heart of all the activity in Prague 1 which is convenient to get to the main attractions in this area. All are within a 10 minute walk - Charles Bridge, castle, clock, city square, etc. Grocery store is a 5 minute walk, tons of restaurants and shops surround you. You are also in the center of the bar scene which stays loud and active until about 2-3am. This is great if you are looking for the nightlife, but bad if you are a family and want to get some sleep. The trick to noise reduction is to turn on the room a/c unit as it drowns out all the street noise with its loud humming sound. Apartment is spacious and old and the contents are limited. We were given one towel per person, one hand towel and told that was it and it would be changed every 3 days. It's manageable though. We are a family of 6 looking to eat in on occasion and found the kitchen to be rather limited in supplies. 3 plates, 2 bowls, a few misc items of silverware and cookware and a few mismatched glasses. We had one full size bed and two pull out futon type beds in the main room. The balcony was a nice bonus! Wi Fi is terrible (read non-existent) unless you are in a first floor apartment which we switched to; however, you can connect to one of the many bar wi fi's that surround you if you can get the password and on the first floor. Kristy, at the front desk, was extremely pleasant and helpful. She helped book our airport transport and navigate the city.
Good apartment near Charles bridge
Very good location. The staff was very helpful.
Not a pleasant stay.
The hotel was outdate! The bed was very uncomfortable. Not a pleasant stay. After staying in different hotels for 3 weeks I would not recommend this hotel at all. One of my least favorite ones. Don't waste your money.
Great location
Great location. On main road between Charles Bridge and Old Town Square. Stayed 3 nights in apartment 6C which is very roomy and has good view. Towels only changed every 3rd day however our towels were changed after 2 days. There is an oven/stove however no pots or pans. Room was clean but needs work. Breakfast is only 5 Euro but not very good. We had breakfast one day and decided to go elsewhere for the remainder of our stay.
Location, location, location!
Great location! Could have shown more pictures of room options. Overall pretty pleased.
Great base
Great location & spacious apartment. I would stay again
Very good
This place was fantastic. Friendly staff. Great price. Awesome room and accommodations. Strongly recombined!
Location is excellent. Apartment was large but a little basic and sparse. Little bit rough around the edges, though clean above skirting board level. Shower over bath didn't work. Staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly
Great apartment close to a lot of intesrest point
We stay at the hotel for 4 nights. Big rooms, 2 bathrooms, big living room. Clean, everyone was nice and breakfast buffet was really good. The apartment is really close to a lot of interest point and we visit the city by walking. Surrended with good restaurant and nice boutique. Only concern is that the street is really noisy by night and we hear other people in the building.
Good hotel in tourist area.
Great hotel - room 6E is a 3 room apartment with a kitchen, great space, good views and the pedestrian area below. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Vehicle parking in public garage about 0.25 mile away.
Location, Location
Perfectly located in old Prague, the best possible location. Nice breakfast. Great deal overall for a 3 star rated hotel.
I think this apartment was definitely a highlight of our trip. The location was fantastic as it is in the heart of things. Easy walking distance to the Astronomical Clock and even closer to the Charles Bridge. The apartment was very clean and accommodated our group of five women perfectly. The desk staff (located in the same building as the apartment we stayed in) was very helpful and friendly. The bonus was that there was a lift.
Great location but did not live up to rating
Pros - great location, close proximity to main attractions Cons - lights did not work, bathroom had a horrible smell, shower hose was broken and had to be replaced, first apartment had no air con and was 300m away from reception which was difficult to get to with luggage, breakfast was average Rating should be reviewed
Good value given the old town location
The main hotel was located in a central street leading up from Charles bridge to old town square. It's an older residential building that is run as a hotel. When we checked in, we were not assigned rooms in the main building but instead in another building 2 streets away in a quieter alley. It is also a duplex apartment in a newer building that has kitchenette, 2 rooms on attic level with double bed in each room and a sofa bed on the first floor with living room. Overall a nice hotel given the location which is less than 500m from the old town square. Breakfast is pretty good and served in the main building.
Very central location but...
Centrally located to many tourist sites and restaurants etc. but we found the noise/music from the pubs and restaurants below us made it difficult to sleep at night. Also, shouting drunks on the streets all night and right up until 4:00am also made for a fitful sleep.
Specious apartment with noise...
This hotel is hidden at the heart of the centre of Prague Old city and near Charles Bridge. It has large living space and very charming spacial apartment. I am impressed the size. Two things are bothered me while I stayed three nights, one is a bad smell comes form wash-basin, another one is a noise from the one of the most busy street from Prague. Otherwise, I enjoyed so much!
Prague trip
Stayed with friends, we came to Prague to see around a bit and party and this was a perfect location as well as cheap and close to everything. Greatly recommended.
great value apartment close to Charles Bridge
Exceptionally helpful staff, great email contact before we arrived and were able to arrange taxi to the airport and other assistance. The apartment is a little basic but large and clean with everything you need. It is a short walk to Charles Bridge, the Old Square and other central Prague attractions. Breakfast is Czech style (no fry ups etc.!) and there is plenty of it - and plenty of choice. Our only negative was that it got quite noisy at night. Ask for a room at the back of the property or choose the back bedroom and its fine.
Ms Chu
Great location. Staff are helpful polite and friendly.
Prague in two days.
Our short stay was very enjoyable mostly due to the location for site seeing and access to shops and restaurants.
Good location. Helpful staff
We were a Family of 5 adults needing a little extra space. Royal Road Residence gave us what we needed. Great location and really helpful staff who spoke excellent English. Free breakfast was a great way to start the day and did the job. Only shortfall was that the Kitchen was too small( only 2 hot plates and no oven) and no washing machine which just took the gloss off slightly...
For smokers only
Rooms Smelled very badly of smoke and many things in the apartment with broken including the dishwasher, toilet seat, curtain rail holder. . Location and wifi good
Christmas trip
Was OK for the price and good location near the old town square. We had a family of five in the apartment, but not much for privacy. No shelves, closets or wardrobes for our clothes, just a coat rack. Plenty of towels. Parking very limited and good parking was 1/2 km away.
Execellent location. Good Value
Perfect location. Pricey if you are staying by yourself (My room slept 4 easily), but if splitting the cost then tremendous value. Office is not open early in morning so if you start early no services or breakfast is available (opens at 9)
Close to everything in Old Town
. We had a nice stay for three nights. The staff was nice and the breakfast good. The down side was that the hotel was noisy both from outside and the stairwell echoed loudly.
Not as advertised
pros - good location, spacious apartment, very good price Cons - not as advertised in pictures - totally diffetent looking room - very old room, curtains coming off rails and dont block out light, broken pool cues and missing balls, dirty and poorly lit entrance to rooms, no television reception ( whats the point of a tv in the room?) , appauling breakfast, badly maintained parquet flooring. This place will work for younger travellers but not anyone else
Satisfactory Prague stay
The room itself was great--very spacious and in good condition (not perfect). We had a great view. Although there was a full kitchen, there was nothing in it to make it usable (dish towel, dishwashing detergent, etc.) The hotel entrance is dirty and unwelcoming. Overall satisfied, but would not stay again.
optimal location. great price
very close to old town center and bridge. good breakfast. wifi not best, but acceptable
Great location for that cost. Very helpfull and friendly staff.
Nice stay at the Royal Road Residence
The hotel location was fantastic. Walking distance to the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and many other great sites. If you're looking for upscale, this is not the place for you, but the rooms were clean and spacious and the hotel keeps to a quite time between 10pm and 7am, so we were not disturbed by late night noise like we were in some of the other cities we visited on this trip. Good hotel for the value.
A somewhat poorly laid out apartment that doesn't seem to have been designed to be a hotel room to start. Things didn't always work well, such as light switches that didn't do anything or bulbs that were burnt out. The wood floor has odd black marks in many places. The elevator doesn't reach the floor the room is on, there is another steep curving staircase. We were in apartment 6E and the elevator stops at floor 5. The elevator is also a bit of a bumpy ride. Essentially it boils down to the room wasn't up to the standard that I think the price warrants
Friends stag do
We arrived late on Friday 5th September so check in was late and there was no one there to check us in so had to wait 20 mins for someone to get us into our rooms! Also they had us as no show so my credit card I used to reserve the room was charged which wasn't too pleasing as you can imagine! Apparently the reception desk is closed around 10pm we arrived at 11pm! We also initially booked for 3 rooms 4 people in 2 rooms and 5 in the 3rd room but got given 2 rooms 7 in one 6 in the other and with only one toilet and 1 shower was not ideal! On the plus side the rooms were very spacious and fairly clean and the location was perfect very central to everything! So overall ok just make sure your checking in before 10pm!!!!
Hard to find
No one was there when we arrived late at night. They had left key at elsewhere. We looked for room at the address given. The people in the building tried to help us find the room but instructions were vague. We ended up climbing up and down 6 flights of steps putting the key in rooms along the way. The people living here were extremely kind trying to figure out where we had a room. No staff was there to help. We finally found out where we should be after phone calls and help from others. I guess all the work was worth because the apartment was awesome.
Great location but a little noisy
We went to Prague for a stag party and the size of the apartment was perfect for the 4 of us. There were three rooms and two bathrooms so plenty of room. Location was great as we were a 5 minute walk from old square. We were on a main walkthrough (just down from Charles Bridge) which had a lot of people walking through pretty much 24 hours a day, so it did get noisy when we left the windows open (which we did as it was warm). Can't really complain though, good staff, nice rooms and a bargain... go for it!
Perfect Tourist Location
Our hotel / apartment was huge. Separate bedroom, living room, kitchen area and large bathroom. The one thing it needs is more furniture. There was no dresser or armoire. We stayed only one night so it really was no need to unpack. Location is ideal within 2 minutes of the Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock, right in the middle of the prime tourist area. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating and dealt directly with the airline regarding our delayed luggage. Breakfast was included and was basic but very good. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the tourist due to its prime location.
expected a little more for the price
room was humongous was sparsely furnished...poor lighting, both the bathroom sink and shower handle comes off too easily...mzwife and daugther did notknowhow to fix or put it back into place..a tad expensive for the overall experience.breakfast was fine, location also quite good...given the price <iwould look for something better next time.. sorry wish i could saz beer, was i am NOT a first time traveler i epect a little more
Expectations
Location, price (room 1A) ..excellent. Breakfast: met expectations.. Room quality, cleanliness, furniture, drapes, bed...well below expectations. Suspect that this particular room is likely the least satisfying because we paid the lowest rate. Important: this is a hostel not a hotel or apartment hotel. Totally recommended for young travellers wishing to keep costs down and stay in the best location in Prague. Not recommended for seasoned travellers used to american-style quality hotels. Other rooms likely better at this hostel. Wi-Fi: met minimum standard (worked with some periodic slow downs)
Excellent location
We had a great stay in Prague after a slightly faltering start as there seemed to be incorrect information provided to Royal Road Residence compared with what we had booked with Hotels.com. That was sorted out and the rooms that we had were quite adequate with comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. The breakfast was fine for what we wanted although the breakfast room was relatively small and it could be abit hectic finding a table. One of the reasons we chose this Hotel was because of it's location and, quite simply, it could not be better for our purposes. Prague is such a fantastic place we are so gl;ad that we finally managed to visit it!
Superb location and very big room size
This residence is really in a central location. It is only a few minutes to Charles Bridge. Good restaurants are within walking distance. The size of the room is a lot bigger than what I expected. Wifi internet is very good. I really enjoyed staying there and look forward to going back!
Stayed their twice
We love the rooms, the staff and the location. I have personally stayed there twice.
Worst hotel employee I have ever encountered
The hotel was fine. The neighborhood was great. When I tried to check in the woman could not find my reservation. (Because she never looked). She then tried to charge me either cash or charge but I explained I already paid on hotels.com and showed her my receipt. She insisted I pay again even after showing me on her computer that my balance was $0. She told me that I was "the King of the world" because I refused to pay again while holding a reciept for payment. She should not be in the hotel business
Good location
Good location. Good experience. Good and friendly staff
Great Service in a Central Location
We stayed at the Royal Residence for two nights last week and could not have been happier. The hotel is in an apartment building near the center of Old Town (we walked everywhere). We paid for a small room but sense none were available we were upgraded to the large room which was a two bedroom apartment. The building itself was old but in a good way that gave it a lot of character. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfortable, the pillows a little flat but that's just my opinion and they worked out just fine. It could get a little noisy because it's on a busy street (foot traffic, not really many cars), but it was never so loud that we couldn't sleep. The breakfast was great. There was a large variety of options (cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, etc) and once again the staff was very friendly and helpful. The best part of the stay was the price. It was an unbelievable deal for such a great location. It really is an amazing deal for the price. I highly recommend it!
Will stay there again for sure!
Always friendly, always helpful staff. Perfect location close to everything. Clean comfortable rooms/apartments.
Fantastic Royal Road Residence, Prague CZ
Royal Road Residence in Prague was simply fantastic! The host was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable in many aspects of the city and surrounds, she even gave us a discount for cash. The loft appartment had stunning rooftop views, was well appointed and cleaned daily. Our stay was for 6 nights and breakfast daily was very nice. We had a child of 7 with us and he was over the moon at the spaciousness of his 'room'. If you are looking for good value acommodation with security, comfort and cleanliness then this is the one for you. Great central location too, just a short stroll to Old Tow Square, shops, theatres, restaurants and Charles Bridge. The photograph in the header is precisely the view, I have the same one on my camera. Regards Sonya
EXCELLENT LOCATION
GREAT PLACE TO STAY: CLEAN, GREAT LOCATION, GREAT BREAKFAST, GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE. THANK YOU GUYS! GREAT JOB.
pictures on their website are misleading!!!!!
Our experience was dreadful. We relied on the pictures this residence had on its website. The apartment we got just looked very bad. It was clean, but the furniture was old, not well kept and had a very strong, stale odor. We wanted to switch hotels right away, but we couldn't because we had already paid for our 3 day stay. Breakfast next day was bad. I had a cold egg, (their microwave was broken) with milk that tasted sour. Before we left I asked the girl in the lobby if they could take care of our laundry and she said they could for 10€. We stayed out almost the entire day because we really didn't want to go back to our depressing room. The next day after the bad breakfast, I gave our laundry to the staff. It was 9:30 am. We returned at 5:00 pm to find out our laundry will be returned the next day. That didnt work because we were leaving at 10:00 am, so they said we will get it at 10:00 pm that night. They didn't keep their word. We finally got our laundry back on the day we were to leave at 9:30, which would have been OK if it was dry. Our clothes were damp! And not all of our clothes were washed! There was a letter in the bag saying they didn't have enough time to wash more than half of the load! When checking out, they tried to charge us for TWO loads of laundry but I refused to pay. The girl at the lobby (one with red hair) was very rude, unwilling to help and overall not nice. A second girl came along, and after telling her the story waived the two unfair charges.
More like an apartment, less like a hotel.
These are essentially one bedroom apartments, rented as hotel rooms. There's a good side and bad side to this. The good: VERY large living room and bedroom, gorgeous windows and balcony overlooking a magnificent street. The bad: it's a little like you're staying in someone's apartment. That's not bad if you're expecting this - but if you're expecting a hotel experience, you'll be disappointed. Most importantly: not all of their rooms are air conditioned, as advertised. We were given a room without air conditioning, and upon complaining about it told that none of their rooms had it. When we pointed out that they advertised air conditioning, they admitted that some rooms do have them. We asked to see a room with air-conditioning (apparently only the top floor rooms), and it was BARELY air conditioned. They have one small unit in the living room, and the air wouldn't even reach the bedroom. We kept our original room as all of the giant windows opened, and would allow a breeze. But...as the night progressed, the sounds of the streets kept us up for most of the night. We live in NYC and are accustomed to street noise - but this was a bit different. Just a stream of revelers up until about 4am. Long story short - if you could do without air conditioning and don't need a typical hotel experience, this is a great place.

Excellent Value For Money in a Central Location
I was slightly worried about our booking after having read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor, but I had absolutely nothing to be concerned about as we had a fantastic stay at Royal Road. The key thing to note with Royal Road Residence is that it is a good value hotel; it has many good points: the location is fantastic (5 mins from Charles Bridge), and the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the apartment was spacious and warm. BUT we did find that our apartment wasn't as well-equipped as it was advertised to be; there was no shower curtain, no wall-mount for the shower head so showers involved crouching in the bath and trying not to soak the floor. Also, the water temperature veered between scalding hot and tepid, so in general showering was not a pleasant experience! There was no hairdryer, we had to ask for mugs and a tea towel, and the TV didn't work, but to be honest most of those things were irrelevant to us. We asked for some mugs and a tea towel and they were provided with a smile, and the other things didn't bother us enough to mention. So, if you are expecting luxury accommodation at a bargain-basement price, then you'll be disappointed. But if, like us, you're happy to sacrifice a few luxuries (and the comfort of a consistent water temperature!) for the sake of a fantastic location, cleanliness and space, then you'll think it's money very well spent. This was my third visit but first time at R.R. and if I return to Prague I'll be staying here.

Nice hotel in a great location. Room was big, modern and spotless. The only downside is the noise. The walls are not paper thin but it is a big old stone building with lots of echo. Outside wakes you up nice and early with businesses preparing for the day. I would stay here again.
