Friendly centrally located hotel
Perfectly central accommodation. Budget friendly
A great hotel in a great location. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but plenty of places in walking distance to grab a bite to eat before exploring the sights!
Check in very proficient considering large hotel and checking in at peak time. Room spotless and bathroom well stocked. Bed mattress was a little tired and sagged in the middle, but it was a large bed that gave lots of room. Stayed in room 2019 that was noisy from immediate neighbours. Plaster board area by wardrobe and mirror/hairdryer not good for sound insulation. Maybe we were just unlucky with our over talkative neighbours , but worth a mention. Breakfast was buffet style and lots and lots of choice. Well organised in the dining room. Check out very easy.
Clean, comfortable and excellent staff. Lovely maintenance man xx
Ok for a short stay
The staff were very friendly, and eager to assist. Once past the reception the hotel itself is very tired. Worn carpets, damaged doors, dated furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't bother with the shower, the head was very high up for us and not adjustable.
Really like staying at this hotel, but on my most recent stay, I was awoken at 1.30am by approx 20 teenagers running up and down the corridor and banging on all the rooms. My door was banged several times and I felt unsafe as a lone female guest. I could not sleep because of the noise and the banging on my door.
It’s underwhelming
I was underwhelmed with this hotel. It was clean and the staff were friendly enough. But our room was really noisy (outside noise, other guests being noisy and the heating system was noisy!) The breakfast was basic. The room was basic. Overall, just very basic.
Great Location
Great location, room clean, good shower, comfy bed, 10 mins walk from Euston, 15 min walk from Covent Garden
We were there for a short time was convenient for places were going to
Good hotel for the price
Really good. Comfortable beds nice furniture and a good amobioncce
February review
Beds too soft, didn’t sleep too well. Breakfast, bacon wasn’t great, eggs undercooked. Was directed to a table, reserved sign put on it, went to get breakfast, came back to find the staff had given the table to someone else! So had to find our own table, ended up sat at a dirty table. Very unorganised! Room was nice, good layout, good bathroom, good shower. Lobby was clean and easy to navigate, lifts temperamental…be prepared to wait…and wait. Staff friendly
Good, central location.
Thank you mohammed. 5 star service
Thank you to mohammed who gave me wonderful support and assistance after i had a very stressful event whilst visiting a london theatre and bar. When i returned to the hotel his calm and sympathetic support was outstanding. Five star service 👌
Great
A very average experience. Room small and cramped. Good bathroom
A great location with lots of restaurants onsite and nearby
My daughter and I stayed here for our four days in London. We had an afternoon tea, went to three separate theatre shows and saw all the sites. The hotel had incredibly easy access to all these things by walking or via metro. There was three metro stations within a short walking distance. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. We would recommend to stay here and hope to return if we are back in London!
nice hotel in a good location. Room was a little noisey as could hear everything on the street but otherwise would stay again
Ideally situated, with Russell Square minutes away
Great location, ideal for what we wanted. Parking a big expensive but hard to find anywhere so good with parking under the building. Beds were so comfortable, a real treat. Everything just worked for us and no worries about coming back late.
mother daughter excursion
I came from the USA to the UK and wanted a hotel ten minutes from the theatre district and this hotel popped up. The staff was knowledgeable ; helpful and the facilities were very clean. The restaurant owned by hotel was close & food was yummy. I will recommend this hotel. This hotel met all of my needs as a tourist.
The shower wasn’t good, it went from boiling hot to freezing cold in seconds, very unsatisfactory. Everything else was fine
This hotel is comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. Ideally located 2 minute walk to the tube. Its a huge hotel room was nice, had a triple room. Only slight negative the beds were single beds, they looked like they were doubles in the photos so felt a little cheated. Didnt eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food or drinks.
Good. Has a triple room which is what we wanted.
Liked nearness to Euston & underground stations, efficient check-in & out, fairly - priced room which was very adequate in size very clean & beds were so comfortable I would stay here again, thank you
If you want a place to sleep and nothing much more than it’s fine!! There a nice pub but does close at 11pm mid week!! Breakfast is quite nice! I guess it’s good value for money!
the 7 floor room windows did not shut correctly so there was a lot of wind noise.
Perfect for the theatre
Perfect location from the train station and to the theatre which is why we were there. Reasonably priced Clean and tidy Lovely bar underneath
I will return
Second stay in this hotel and I will be back. Mainly because its clean, feels safe and a totally fantastic location. 5 mins walk from Russell Square Tube. Take ear plugs, its a City location! Had the breakfast this time and will select that on my next visit too. Must add all staff are super nice, helpful and friendly.
Really nice hotel very reasonable price and great breakfast
My room has a back to back door to other room and you can hear the conversation from other room so they can hear our conversations as well. Overall hotel is very clean and comfortable.
Very good experience even if the room needed ma upgrade. Jannai was amazing and treated us very well. The hotel’s location was Perfect for going around London!!!
A good stay.
Although very busy when we were there, the service was very good throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and warm in January.
Beautiful room! Great location. Friendly staff.
The staff are lovely and very polite. The room was very clean and had everything that we needed.
Comfortable and convenient.
Everything was great apart from the noise outside. The window to the street may aswell of not been there and people in the corridor sounded like they were in the room.
Basic but clean
Good hotel
Amazing location for the price of the hotel . Beds are very comfortable. Rooms are not massive but not to small. It’s very quiet considering the size of the hotel. My only negative would be the shower isn’t great but your able to run a bath fast. I would recommend this hotel and would happily stay again !
Efficient service. Excellent breakfast
finally a good hotel in london great location and great price
Good location, lovely room. Would stay here again.
Great
I
Good size room for a family of 4. Close to British museum transport connections and local supermarkets.
The opportunity for luggage storage on day of arrival and departure was really handy. The hotel was huge, and understandably busy, being located close to many attractions.
Great Value Hotel
This hotel way surpassed my expectations for the price paid. It was clean and well maintained and a great location in London. Really comfortable stay. It was a 1 night, late booking in December in London for single occupancy and was cheap compared to lots of other hotels in the area. It was a small room for 1 with a single bed but absolutely perfect. I'd definitely return. 3 of my colleagues also booked the same and were all equally impressed by this hotel. A great find.
The rooms were clean, close to public transportation
Berry good
Overall ok 4/5
Cost effective stay. Overall good. Thankful for easy check-in & out, clear room, good heating. Downside is the poor sound isolation of window, which let all squishy sounds of cars&busses of a busy road in rainy day. Definitely needed a old &damaged frame and silicone repair of the window edges to give a bit more isolation.
Would definitely stay here again
We, a family of three, stayed at Royal National Hotel during the first week of November and it was a delightful experience overall. I loved the location, right next to Russel Square Subway(tube) station with very nice options for all kinds of food and shopping. The room I selected from the app was good but there was an issue with the bed and the issue was that the two double beds were placed side-by-side but not joined so they were coming apart at night and as a family with a small child we wanted to have one bed instead. I went to the customer service desk and the gentleman named Jannai was EXTREMELY helpful and generous to understand the problem and changed the room for us. Thank you Jannai! Overall, the room was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we wanted. The location, again, was fantastic and all the major attractions can easily be accessed via subway and the bus. If i visit London again, I would be happy to stay at this hotel.
The property was clean and the surrounding area felt safe. The hotel itself is large with very easy check in. Overall, would stay here again!
Very noisy
We tried so many times to work with the property to change the dates related to our stay but they just wouldn't budge and had to pay an extra night. At the end, I don't think this hotel values customer service. From a room perspective, the first night (extra night we paid) the room was outdated and not too clean. They moved the family to a new room the next day which was better.
Disappointing
I don't think we'll be staying here again. Negatives: there were some issues with the bathroom – the hot tap in the sink had zero pressure so you had to turn the tap several times to get a weak stream of water. There was an unhygienic shower curtain in the bath which clung to you while you were trying to have a shower. I'm surprised they didn't think to install a shower screen. We could constantly hear the people next door or upstairs as the walls didn't seem very thick. On another note in the entire room there were only two power points, one of which was used by the kettle. This meant charging phones and laptops etc. was very difficult. Positives: the breakfast was quite good with a hot buffet selection and the usual pastries, toast and cheeses and ham.
Easy access and good food options around
Very friendly staff, happy to help. Nice modern rooms with up to date facilities and technology.
It took half an hour to check in. Plenty of smiley reception staff, staring blankly at screens, achieving very little. Our room and surrounding corridors stank of frying onions (coming up through the fire escape). Otherwise, the room was comfortable. On the morning of departure, it took over 10 minutes to reach the ground floor, due to malfunctioning lifts - with the only alternative being an alarmed fire escape. All these points were mentioned to the receptionist upon checkout. The only reaction was “sorry” and another nice smile. Overall: a poor experience.
Location is good. But services are bad
Affordable
Room was clean comfortable but small it did the job required and a bit warm overnight The beds were comfortable Bathroom facilities were great. Would stop there again.
Shabby and old
Really shabby hotel, shower barely worked and couldn’t plug a lap top in to charge as socket position was so low. I tried to report the issue but the queue at reception was so long I had to leave. Window in room was old and had mould.
Rooms have been decorated nicely since I last stayed a couple of things to complain one of my suitcases was opened in room nothing taken but someone opened it and check in time loads of people waiting to check in and only one person behind reception it’s a very busy hotel something wrong somewhere I had to complain and two more people came out
Property was at the perfect location but there was too much noise on our floor in the night. There was a foul smell in the bathroom which was a put off but rest everything was perfect. Room was clean and nicely done.
OK, once in 30 years is about right.
Haven't stayed here since 1996 on a Uni Field Trip, felt like an appropriate amount of time. It's OK, good location, bed was comfy and the room was clean. Decor is 1990s (not sure it changed since I was there last), breakfast wasn't bad, but field kitchen standard. Check-in was atrocious, we were all guided into lines which then got served faster than those of us who had queued for 30 minutes (this is the UK, we DO queuing here), which was frustrating. Staff were friendly though, despite angry guests waiting for their rooms.
The housekeeping service was great. The bed was comfortable. The room was dated. Bathroom sink has two separate faucets (one for cold and one for hot) making it difficult to wash. The water presurre in the shower was non exustent. Hotel should look into modernizing its washroom.
Rooms are pretty small. Somewhat expected in London however even by this standard the room was a little boxy. The desk was comparable to a shelf. There was a significant amount of noise from the courtyard and the rooms were poorly insulated. I was able to keenly engage in an argument going on in the neighbouring room which kept me up somewhat. The positives were the cleanliness of the room and the state of the bathroom.
Having stayed a few times this will be the last time I stay at this hotel. The queue to check in was ridiculously long; clearly not enough staff working. And it’s looking very tired now. No a/c in rooms, decor shabby and rooms and bathrooms in desperate need of a makeover
Sraff are really friendly and accommodating. Nice and clean place.
Pleasantly Surprised
This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was in a great location! The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The customer service was top notch as every staff person we encountered was helpful. I will definitely stay here again because we had such an enjoyable experience.
Clean, comfortable, ideal for a budget hotel stay. Room was quiet and of a good standard.
Spent a pleasant 2 nights in a twin room. enough room for comfort. Lovely large shower. Very clean room & bathroom. I asked for a quiet room & that's what l received. Not a good idea to have the spare toilet room at floor level next to toilet for obvious reasons! Could do with 2 bedside tables, was a bit squashed with 2 people using a small bedside table. Very helpful polite staff About 10 mins walk from Euston train Station. Buses/underground into or fairly close to Camden Market & other areas. Would return again if in the area.
Great hotel in a good location.
Hotel and staff are lovely and helpful. Rooms clean and spacious. Lovely shower. Only downside was that then room looked out to a loud courtyard and the room was boiling meaning I couldn’t open the window as it disturbed my sleep. Which is why I did not give 5 stars. 5 minutes from the tube station and 20 minute walk to Covent Garden.
Happy Stay
There are over 400 rooms in the hotel and check-in took a bit of time was expected. The bathroom is very big and clean. The downside was room was not bright enough and the twin single beds were very narrow.
Queues long for check in. Maintenance man working in the room when we arrived, 10 minutes later get a phone call from reception saying we need to move room. Helped to the new room by staff but it was smaller than the one we’d first been given, not in as good condition either. Only one power point in the room at the side of the kettle, not ideal for two guests staying 3 days.
Good walking area.
Just 15 min walk from Euston, clean room, friendly staff, could not fault our stay. Had tickets to the theatre and it was walking distance to Somerset House, Covent Garden and theatre. Perfect!
Great location - but bring your ear plugs!
Great location. Clean & friendly. The one thing that spoils this hotel is the lack of double glazing so you can hear SO much noise from outside - traffic, people talking in the street, tuk-tuk music. Ear plugs are essential!
Fantastic hotel
Fantastic stay at this hotel, beds were comfy and the rooms were clean and perfect for us as we was out most of the day. The bathroom was nice to. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Would recommend this hotel stay and will definitely be back!
Good place to stay
Pleasant stay, basic for what you need. Rooms were a little dated and some places weren’t as clean as we would’ve expected but it was good for what we paid.
I struggle after back surgery. One of the concierge staff saw I was in pain whilst trying to get hold of a taxi for me. He went and found a chair for me and sorted the cab and then helped me in. Above and beyond service where all the staff are lovely
Reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. We had a triple room with 3 single beds, no put up beds. So much more comfortable for us. Happy to recommend.
Generally, it’s good, since I have a very nice sleep every day after a comfortable shower. The only thing which is not perfect is that my room is not very new this time. Anyways, it’s clean.
The staff on the reception desk were so helpful and friendly. I stayed with my Mum who has mobility issues and they couldn't have been more helpful. They changed our room without a fuss and found us somewhere more suitable. The room has everything we needed and tea making facilities too. Breakfast was great. Good selection of hot food and continental too. We used this hotel as we were seeing a show. So close to Russel Square underground station and bus routes.
The Royal National is conviently located near to Kings Cross and Euston and has parking at a sensible price for London, although spaces are limited and not reservable. The hotel itself is a large conference style hotel. The service on the front desk was good and staff were helpful. The standard room was compact and a little tired but the bed and pillows were really comfortable. The breakfast is self service and is good with many options. Overall our stay was good and the room rate sensible for London. I wouldn't hesitate in booking it again.
Never go to a hotel that there is no chairs at the lobby . Hotel is too old and needs renovation.
It was extremely noisy. Could hear the people on both sides and above our room and those walking down the hall from the elevator. The shower was not fully closed in so the entire bathroom floor had to be mopped up after showers. No fan or ventilation in the bathrooms either so room got very humid and stuffy.
Very good
Myself and 2 girl friends shared a triple room for a weekend shopping in London cant fault anything apart from no lock on bathroom door. 2min walk to nearest tube at Russell square
All good bar the street noise
Overall most things about my stay were very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check-in and check-out process was swift and friendly. I really enjoyed the burger I had for dinner at the London Pub located in the same building. The breakfast was very decent and hearty with a varied choice for all tastes. The room had been recently renovated, and the bedding was comfy. The only gripe I have was that my room faced onto a main street. Normally not a problem. I found that the window was very poor at keeping out noise. The location seemed to have police cars / ambulances passing every few minutes at worst. And this went on through the evening and night. So, sleep was poor. Staying here again, I would insist on a room that was on the inner court yard if possible. Apart from that excellent value, great location and easily accessible to other areas of London.
Good
There were no seats in the lobby for people to sit , if need be. There is no shop for gifts. There was no ice machine on my floor. There was no ice bucket or mini fridge in the room. All our food and drinks were left at room temperature. There was no microwave to heat up a small meal. The was wwwwaaaayyyy too expensive!!! If I park my car for 24hrs. I should be able to go in and out without being charged extra fees each time. The breakfast was very very disappointing! Everyone doesn't eat PORK! Its not fair to go so cheap that the customer feels lied to! I thought i was going to have at least 1 meat option to manage, but no. I only had bread and butter for breakfast my entire stay! But this was one of the reasons i chose this hotel and they seriously disappointed me and my 2 guests. Its not ok! PLEASE DO BETTER. Thanks alot!
Worth it if you get a good deal
Great price for the location and room. We stayed in one of the top floors and the room was well kept and comfortable. Decoration is lacking (it’s very plain) but that’s not why we picked this hotel. The location is ideal for visiting London by foot. There is a 24h Tesco 2 mins away. The luggage drop off service is also very handy and well organised. If you get a good deal, I would definitely recommend booking this place. Saw some bad experiences in the reviews but everything went super smoothly for us.
Good value
Overall a nice property offering solid value. I would consider staying here again.
Staff are great
The cost of room was expensive. This excluded breakfast. The hotel was extremely busy with multiple crowds of foreign tourists. Waited ages for a lift that had room to enter as there were so many suitcases in the lifts. Room was clean and tidy with all required facilities. I will never stay there again
Great location and comfortable staying at the hotel.
First class service
Excellent service, the reception staff went above and beyond to find us an early room. Breakfast was superb and the breakfast staff were super efficient. The hotel is extremely clean. Situated in an excellent part of London. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an excellent stay.
Close to St Pancras station.
Hotel manager was extremely helpful and personable. I had my own issues with water and general questions about how to use the amenities and she was a doll.
Was ok, no sound proofing from corridor or from the street, busy area so quite noisey

Lovely but take earplugs
Stayed 3 nights to sightse in the capital. Lovely friendly check although it was very busy at 2pm, nice clean 3 bed room, with kettle and tea/coffee, immaculate shower room nice fluffy towels. Room smelled amazing, lovely bubblegum/fruity smell. Nice comfy beds with thick mattress toppers and room was nice and warm . The down side: Room faced onto busy road, it was exceptionally loud on a night due to single glazed window, Almost unbearly loud for sleep, so take ear plugs.
