The stay was fine. The big German Shepard at the check in fest was terrifying. Could use new sheets and towels. Please get your ice machine fixed. The out of use sign was very old. Could use some at least twin size pillows. We had 3 little tiny throw pillows. All in all it was an ok stay.

I could write a nightmare novel about this place. Stephen King could take some pointers from how horrible it was! The lady at the front desk was so inconvenienced when we came in and had a look of someone who had just sucked on a lemon. She gave us our card for the room which upon entering found out someone was already occupying the room!! We went back and she just acted like it was no big deal. Then gave us another room. Upon inspecting this room we found it dirty, the window was broken from the outside and it smelled like cigarette smoke and pee. When my husband came back to get what sleep he could he found that the key card didn’t work. When he went up to have the night clerk fix the card this loser of a human being proceeded to yell and curse at my husband and even threatened to fight him. Which would have been laughable if not for the circumstances. We didn’t even sleep in this disgusting, foul smelling, filthy flop house! Please please please do not book at this place! Just know you are forewarned by all the other horrible reviews along with mine. My husband and I have NEVER been so ill treated! Horrible people and hotel!!

Just unhappy

The A.C. unit in the room was very loud. To the point we turned it off. It still was loud and blowing cold air. So we unplugged it. Alao we dont like the fact the deposit is withdrawn from your account and takes 5-7 businesses days for a refund

Much to be desired.

Hotel staff was extremely rude upon check in. We arrived at 2:45pm and when i walked in the lady at the counter very rudely exclaimed "check in is at 3" never been to a hotel that wouldn't even try to check someone in 15 minutes early. Then the pet fees were way higher than the website showed, pet fees for 2 dogs were nearly as much as the room was for the night. Got to the room and there were holes in the wall in the bathroom, and stains all over the blankets and sheets.

Do not stay here!!!

This is worst experience I have ever had. Upon check in the man became angry when I asked what the deposit was for. He then proceeded to yell loudly at me in front of a lobby full of people then said I was a drug addict. I have a disability! He’s then proceeded to mock me in front of the whole lobby. Then loudly stated to everyone he checked in. Normally I require a deposit but you look like your a nice person you don’t have to pay the deposit but that drug addict over there does! I have never been so mortified and just in shock. I was refused a room for no reason and then refused a refund. The man called the police when I said I wouldn’t leave without a refund. He lied on the phone telling dispatch I should be in a hospital. They took one look at me and apologized and said we can see this is not what we have been told. Horrible property, dirty, and functions more like a halfway house. Stay far far far far far away

The people were professional, although the hotel had a lot of broken equipment, the tv barely worked, the hair dryer in the bathroom was broken, the sink had a hard time draining. Smelled like weed all around, the bed was uncomfortable, there was a light on the window that couldn’t turn off and made it hard to sleep, there were missing shelves which made it inconvenient to leave out clothes around. The mirror had a crack in it, the wifi didn’t work, there wasn’t a breakfast place, nor a pool (which isn’t a requirement just sad their wasn’t any) there were a lot of interesting people loitering around the hotel making it a little uncomfortable being outside.

The staff were really nice very professional and worked with us coming later they really cared about keeping their property clean and safe, it was in a very convenient spot having the city only 15 minutes away and the mall a 3-5 minute drive with all sorts of shops!

You get what you pay for...

The location of our room, which faced mcdonalds, was extremely loud the entire night. There was banging (sounded like employees opening and closing a dumpster?), loud booms (maybe fireworks?), and other noises all night long. There is a large, bright flood light right outside the window that shown through the curtains and gave the appearance of daytime. The curtain had holes in it so it did nothing to help with the light. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The blankets thin and pillows are small couch pillows. The ice machine was out of order. The place is run down. We were charged $67 for 1 night. We tried to book direct with the hotel but we were unsuccessful because the number went to a reservation hotline. When we checked in, we found that we could have paid $44 instead. If you are looking for a restful sleep, i do not recommend this hotel. If you need something cheap in a hurry? Talk to them in person and get the $44 booking.

I cannot believe this place has 5.7 on expedia, I would rather sleep in my car, and save the money for a nice breakfast the next morning. Room was ran down still items from the late 80's including the floor. Nasty stuff on the walls in the bathroom. The maintenance in the room looks as though a degenerate teen tried their best but "needs improvement". Location within walking distance of many things including grocery store.

We could not even check into our room. Staff was incoherent, nodding off, and could not complete the check in process. After dealing with this for over half an hour we were forced to leave and stayed at a holiday in express which was a much nicer facility. I will be seeking a total refund as no services were provided.

This property only deserves one star and that is because it actually exists. It is a total dump inside of a nice neighborhood. The rooms are small and dirty. There was an actual pee stain on the sheets of one bed. We ended up sharing a bed just because we were exhausted and knew it was nonrefundable. The second night we paid for? We left and found another hotel. It was worth it to lose the money to not have to stay there twice. This place is worse than you get what you pay for. Want a towel in the morning to wash off whatever filth it feels like you slept in the previous night? Be prepared for a dirty bathroom and a towel the size of most people's washcloths. And if you use two? Be prepared to have to beg for another. That tiny thread bare towel is very important to the staff. Like anyone would steal the towels. Most people would've turned them into rags by the stage they are in. The TV remote didn't work. The wi-fi was out. This was just an all around unpleasant and filthy stay.

Nasty rooms and I mean nasty and mold. Stained sheets and carpets. Don’t get me started on management. I had the front lady come to my room 2x every single day yelling at me and my son “Get out or I call the police” just because she was mad I had 2 Professionally trained service dogs and she couldn’t charge me fees for them so she was trying to kick me out or call the police. The photos on Expedia showed a continental breakfast, but when we arrived, the front desk said they didn't serve breakfast anymore. The app also said the hotel was less than 10 miles from the airport, it was almost 18 miles from the airport. We were road weary and decided to stay anyway because we didn't want to hassle with trying to get a refund and book a room elsewhere. We then got settled in our room and went to get ice, only to find the ice machine was out of order. We were traveling with my mother who has dementia, so again, it would have been too much trouble to move to another location and get her upset. Imagine our surprise when the coffee maker also didn't work in the morning!! All in all, I would give our experience with the Royal Inn, a zero star if it were possible! The Royal Inn was a Royal Pain!

The room was filthy, they wouldn't return money for nights my dog wasn't there, they charged an additional *undisclosed* $100 deposit at walk in, charged aditional $25 per night for dogs (cats aren't allowed in the "pet friendly" hotel even for service animals, if you sleep during the day and therefor don't want housekeeping coming in, then they will still wake you up (even with "do not disturb" hanging on the door) and after a couple days they will scream and pound on your door like there is a fire and threaten to call the police if you don't let them come in to clean (even if you're a really clean person and there isn't any mess to clean). Oh, and any dog(s) (service or otherwise) that they charge for at this "pet-friendly" establishment that come near them (they don't have to even show any interest in them or misbehave in any way), they will back up like you have the plague and scream and yell at you for intimidating them with scary dog(s) and tell you to get your dog away (and demand that you wake up and leave your room with your dog so that they can come in and clean every day even if it's not needed or wanted). There was no breakfast, hot tub, fridge, or microwave like advertised either. The first day I got there even the lobby of the main office smelled like pot. In the end, I preferred to sleep in my car somewhere else because I was so uncomfortable there.

Royal Nightmare

My stay with the royal inn was a Royal nightmare. The front desk lady was extremely rude and wanted to charge me for a service animal when the fees are supposed to be waived. On top of that they charged me for towels that they said I destroyed. That was not the case....then continued to accuse me of stealing towels. I will never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

They advertise as pet friendly, so I chose to stay here with my dog. When I checked in I told the lady I have a service animal. She then asked for certificates. Which I do not need to provide. She insisted that I was lying, but then let me check in. I stayed there for 2 weeks and every time I went to the front desk I was asked for my room number and harassed about not paying for my dog. There is a back door that is constantly propped open allowing anyone to enter the building. My room had no refrigerator or microwave and the ice machine and washer and dryer were out of service the whole time I was there. The room had a weird smell to it that seemed to be coming from the AC unit. I travel for a living and always bring my dog, this is the only place that has ever treated me so badly about bringing him. If you have a dog service animal or not I highly recommend not staying here.

First room smelled like a dog kennel with terrible stained carpets, room 131. Requested new room. Second room smelled okay, but it had not been properly cleaned. Dirty toilet (with crusted poop)) and dirty tub. Water spilled on night stand. Broken ice machine. No answer at front desk after numerous calls. NO SOAP in room! Worst place I have ever stayed by far. Disgusting. Checked out a day early. Would rather sleep in my car.

I liked the fact that although it was inexpensive, they still had a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator in the room. Also, I like the pictures of the mountains behind the beds. I did not like the fact that there were water stains in the ceiling above the shower. It would be much nicer if the walls in bathroom area were painted... also some holes in the wall should be filled where TV used to be.

It was very quiet. Walking distance to fast foods. Quite a ways from the interstate. Carpets clean but old looking. No microwave or fridge in room. No breakfast. Comfy bed. No real desk to speak of: small shelf with TV and coffeemaker on it.

This was a cheap place to sleep but, I wouldn’t stay here again. The room was run down and overall just a little sketchy. The curtains were ripped, the wardrobe had a whole door missing. The bathroom had recently been “remodeled” but, the wall never got repaired so it had holes in it and the shower curtain wouldn’t even close all the way. It was quiet but, not a place I would go to again.

Phone didn’t work, we couldn’t get internet, door windows were dirty. Crap chair on display upstairs lobby. Desk personnel were not helpful.

It was a bed to sleep in and I was able to bring my dogs with me, but this is absolutely not somewhere for you to bring your family. Reeks of weed and cigarette smoke and there were very questionable people in and out of the building. The staff did not make me feel welcome, and actually kind of creeped out with all there cameras and ways of kind of snooping on you. It’s family run and I feel bad for leaving this review, but I wish I knew this when booking my stay. Very steep per fee of $25 per pet per night. Would absolutely not recommend this place.

I did not care for this hotel at all. It was not clean, there were homeless people in the stairway, I got my $150 safety deposit refunded to me after my stay and then they charged it again on my card. The hotel spelled like mold is some places, and the overall experience was not good.

This place is a drug haven. I was unsafe while I stayed there. Management refuses to answer Expedia, so they did not refund deposit or stay. Would think both Royal Inn and Expedia would care more about someone’s life. Oh well. Up the ladder I go. May have to hire an attorney after this debacle.

The personnel was not engaging for did they help me feel better. The room was dirty, stains on the bed sheets and chair, window blinds were broken, the tv did not work. The mirror had a huge crack in it. I ended up leaving due the dirtiness.

This hotel has a great location. It is not clean around the baseboards in the bathroom. it was quiet. It was the cheapest in the area and had a good bed and good bathrooms. The parking lot was safe and had easy access to rooms. It was a good budget hotel.
