Beds were a bit hard. Some rooms had water marks on the ceiling. Our room only had 1 night stand and very few plug for charging our phones. Had to use an iron from another room as ours didn't have one. Breakfast was ok. Unsure about the pool. A lot of stairs. It's always leg day at this inn.
Room was very clean. In walking distance of the falls
Very close to white water walk & aero car
Great staff and service. Included breakfast was good! The room had a damp smell. Water was leaking in the bathtub.
Met all of our needs on a budget. Good water pressure, decent breakfast and beds.
Great location to all of Niagara area
Seems like they have been upgrading the property. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
Bad costumer service
It was affordable, clean and ideally located. We were actually happy to not have stayed in the areas around the Falls. The staff was great and we’d stay there again if we were to return
Everything was great !
The staff went over and above for us. Room was large and quite comfy. The beds were the most comfortable I think I have ever experienced in a hotel. Slept like a bear. Will definitely be staying again!!
I was shocked to hear that booking through Expedia you impose on us parking fees and do not treat us the same ! I would not have heard of your hotel if not for Expedia . I don’t not like that at all . The breakfast was barely passable
I asked Ryan for Splenda for coffee. Ryan had me believe he was going to get the Splenda. After a long wait at the coffee machine I walked around to the desk and Ryan was there. I said I thought you were going to get the Splenda. He said there is no more left. When I got to my room, I called and explained to Ryan I was disappointed that he didn't come around the corner and let me know there was no more Splenda. Before I could do that, Ryan said I'm not allowed to leave the front desk. There was Splenda, Ryan lied to me! Had me wait, used a lie to say there was no more Splenda. Very disappointed when people treat customers bad. SMH!
A budget hotel, clean but not near restaurants or convenience stores.
Attention to detail. Eg. no bath mat, lamps, room was musty . Breakfast was good.
Parking fees were high. Too much highly processed food in the breakfast buffet. Various common elements in the property are aged and require renovation.
Enjoyed our one night stay. . Hotel was clean and Breakfast was very good.. not a luxurious Hotel by any means but very adequate
Ok
It was very quiet and away from crowds.Very nice walking path rate cross the street. But inn is little run down.No cable tv.People that work there are very nice.
Tub surface slippery and unsafe for showering. Good breakfast. Nice pleasant staff. No need to charge for parking in that lot.
Quiet
Our room faced the river and cliffside so it was a beautiful view. It was a little loud at night, however, with thin walls and floor/ceilings, but a perfectly nice inn with the right amenities available.
AC was broken, the shower drain broken.. I had family emergency and could not cancel 2nd night unless I left an email for Manager.. Terrible
The pool was a little dirty but other than that it was such a good stay! Just had a good hot shower after swimming so really no complaints especially for the price. And staff was very friendly
It was an old hotel but most of it was done over nicely. The rooms were clean, bathroom was updated and the breakfast was good.
N/a
I loved that I could walk across the street and see the river.
Pretty quiet hotel with very sweet staff and comfortable beds (so much so we overslept our checkout time). Offered free breakfast but slept through it by accident. Shower water is impressively hot very quickly, and got lots of towels and facecloths and soap. The shower curtain could have been washed better as it was a little mildew-y, but for the price in Niagara it was a very comfy stay.
no elevator, pool water too cold
Good value for the money. A very good restaurant nearby. Walking distance to some top attractions.
Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Location wasn't that great. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Dirty halls room and bathroom. Sign for breakfast stated 7-10 closed at 9 instead. Pool dark and dirty. Bed very uncomfortable caused backache in both my husband and I.
Overall The place is ok, Kinda get what you pay for vibe. No elevator access. Paying 50$ in parking for a vacant lot is Atrocious. When asked about why they charge they said “it’s Niagara Falls everyone does it.” I asked around.. most don’t. Especially during lowest of low season. 3/4 lights in the room didn’t work. On the positive side: the view was decent, the room was large. And seemed fairly clean. Overall 3/10 wouldn’t stay again but wouldn’t be mad if I had to spend the night in a pinch
Good!
Large rooms, clean and cheap compared to the hotels around it. Only a 10 minute drive to the falls.
Hotel was good, Didn't like the the fact that they charged 20$ for parking for a day
It smells really bad.
We had to pay a parking fee to even park in the parking lot. We were told about an in town lot that we also could park in to make it convenient to go to the falls etc. the in town lot was in between abandoned buildings and was very sketchy. On top of being at least a 30 walk to the falls. Definitely was not somewhere I would want to leave my vehicle.
Great bang for your buck! We really enjoyed our stay and had no issues! Only thing is that there is no elevator so it can be hard to carry your bags up. We loved the air conditioning, tv and the table minifridge. Very accommodating and not too far to walk (like 3km) to falls. If I’m ever back I’ll stay with you again.
Property needs to be cleaned. There are bed bugs. Bed sheet, comforter covert and pillow cover should be cleaned daily. Deck is not cleaned. For the price we paid over $300 for one room, service and the place not worth it
Every staff member is very helpful and great location for weekends
A nice quiet hotel very close to transportation to the falls
Nice and quiet roon.
Relaxing quiet room away from the naddening crowd on Labour Day weekend! Comfortable
Clean room with a great breakfast.
I work in a hotel management school. Room was clean. Perfect for guests with allergies like myself (no overwhelming room air fresheners and harsh smelly detergents used to clean sheets). Receptionist is shy but provides the required information and is helpful. Staff in breakfast room is extremely kind and efficient. Breakfast has an abundance of healthy and fresh food options, as well as waffles you can make on the spot. Pool looked great extremely clean. Additional parking fees apply BUT you get FREE parking in locations closer to the falls which balances things out.
Breakfast was good too
Room was spacious and renovated but only one night table. We had a little kitchenette but no dishes or any other items to use. Overall good experience.
The pool area is old and starting to lose tiles. The tubs are older and very slippery. And the hotel is noisy from other loud guest and the sound of water in the pipes. Over all the stay was good.
bed is not comfortable specially pillows is is not hotel standard not comfortable.
Good place
We stayed three nights the end of August and there are good and some not so good things to review. On the good side, i liked the location, it's away from the noise of downtown. The WEGO bus stop is a four minute walk. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and very clean. (except the windows, yuck). The halls and stairways are all clean. The breakfast is average, with sausage and scrambled eggs, and a waffle maker, plus many other items. On the not so good side, first is the $20 daily parking fee, the only reason for that is its a cash grab, its really nasty. There is no coffee maker in the room and big sign in breakfast room, that no food or drinks allowed out of the room. So much for having a morning coffee in your room, thats just miserable. There is no comfortable place to sit in the room, my wife has serious back issues and because of this alone we would not return. If you have neighbour's above or beside you'll be hearing their conversation s, so be aware. There is an e-bike for rent at $75 for 4 hours, if you have any money left.
Additional paid parking was obnoxious for this property. Rooms are old, building is old. Breakfast was an average continental breakfast.
No hot water in shower only warm.
The room was pleasant and clean and all the furnishings were of high standard. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the $20 parking fee.
Lots of noise from upstairs in middle of night. Other guests having no respect at all including during breakfast time where couples would sit in table for 4-6 people. Breakfast was lacking bit of variety.
Nice & kind staff Very convinced to visit resort area Meal good
This was a one night stopover for us as we had a wedding in the area. The room - while not luxurious - was large and clean. Bottled water and toiletries were provided, and bed linens were very nice. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. However, no safe - if that is important to you. The property is undergoing some lovely improvements - the breakfast room was bright and spacious.
Upon my arrival at the inn, a putrid stench greeted my senses, prompting the immediate need to open doors to rid the place of its foul odour. Once the room was finally airing out, my companion and I settled into bed only to encounter not one, not two, but three sizable spiders scurrying about the walls. Despite our best efforts to remove them outside, another arachnid made its unwelcome appearance, reaching a total of four before my tolerance reached its limit, prompting me to depart the room. Seeking resolution, I made my way to the front desk to address the unsettling situation, but to my dismay, my concerns were met with indifference or perhaps a lack of understanding. Disheartened by the lack of response, I decided to cut short my stay and seek accommodation elsewhere, as the constant discomfort and lack of action were not conducive to a pleasant experience at the inn.
This property has everything you need for a great deal. However the guests next to us were very noisy at 4:30 am waking us up and disrupting our sleep.
Would have liked a bit more ambience in the rooms some more pictures and items to make it a more interesting and liveable, a few more signs on things like coffee or tea hot water etc at breakfast, also in the room we would like to have a couple of glasses to drink our wine instead of paper cups. For the price we are content with our stay.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions.
Room and breakfast were great, air conditioning is fairly dated wall unit, doesn't do a great job of cooling when temperatures are warm enough to actually need it. Location is a bit sketchy, and the fee for parking is suspect given that the lot is not gated or protected and in a fairly run-down area. Power was out for a few hours during our stay and our floor had no emergency lighting to speak of so guests had to navigate with their cell phone lights.
It was fine....a little overpriced. Parking fee isn't necessary.
This is first time I have seen a dirty place like this. ZERO maintentance.I do not understand how Expedia recomend this as an option For 30 dollars I should get someting better next time. Besides parking fee is not explained until you're there.
We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions.
Breakfast can be better
The Power was out when we arrived to check in. As a result we were not able to check in, attendant said they would call us when it was ready. 2 hours later we came by the power was back on and they did not call us. When I asked I was advised that they were too busy to call, after having offered to call to let us know when the power had returned.
The location is great! Unfortunately, I believe the Inn got to a point where they solely rely on the great location to get guests, instead of running the Inn well and upkeep it. We did not end up staying after we paid because we were totally grossed out that the boys couldn't take a bath in the tub and they would have had to shower because the plug didn't work. Then had to pull out a huge mess of hair out of the drain..! That was it for us. But apart from that, the paint were peeling terribly at the window sill and the one bed's lining was teared/had holes in it. We did not even bother looking at the swimming pool
Room was a nice size with a small kitchenette and bed was comfortable. The hotel was in a fairly quiet area and close to many attractions. Staff were very courteous.
Terrible and uncomfortable check-in experience
For disclosure. I did not easily complain about poor experiences. I work in customer service, so have some sympathy. But this was an awful check-in experience that was handled very badly by the hotel. I arrived early in the day to bag drop and leave the car. When I came back later to check-in, my booked room was given to someone else by mistake. I was the charged 3 times for tourist tax, despite only 2 rooms. I was told my credit card was the problem for a hold charge no going through. Despite 5 cards across 4 people having the same issue, and me point out the clear obvious evidence that its the hotel system. They followed up again to say one charge is pending and won't get charged. Incorrect again, I've been charged. Desk person asked for ID 3 times, finally disappearing with it to do something on a computer (I assume book a new room?). Having someone take your ID away for 30min is not comfortable. We were told our parking would be waived, only to find a charge was applied without disclosure. I was told my credit card was the problem, the same one that booked the room at was just charged tourist tax. I was then asked for a non BMO card. We went through 5 cards in total for the group of 4 peoples. Room fine otherwise. Just very bad check-in experience.
It was a great spot for us ! With the wego transportation to get to the major attractions ! :)
ok
Booked on Expedia. Expedia didn’t tell me that once I got there there would be a $20 parking fee and $5 hotel fee (not sure what that was for). The hotel is old but not dirty. It is clean but our tub had chips in it. Very small bathroom. A bit noisy. The beds were very comfortable
The property was not clean the room was smelly and very old
I will never recommend this hotel to no one.
Good location for biking/hiking along niagara parkway trails. Overall ok to stay at. Fridge was dirty had melted ice cream left in it; along with chip bag and wrappers under bed, dirty shirt from previous visitors left behind and room not cleaned up very well; cleanliness not amazing, half the pillow cases were minorly stained. Stayed last year, the included breakfast has been downsized and not nearly as good now, which was disappointing. Easy check in and check out, staff polite and respectful. Shower pressure good, AC worked well, despite cons would stay again.
Overall good place to stay
Nice neat place.
For this amount of getting charged ! It won’t worth it compared to any same level places. Breakfast is terrible. Also the hall ways are super old and dark ! Beds were cleaned and nd receptionist was polite but in the there wasn’t even a tea maker in room. Totally i think this place is 3 star .
Terrible hotel room and service. No coffee in rooms Expect pricing to be different then the time of booking.
Clean Hotel
Very clean hotel with good breakfast.
The hotel needs a total rehab. Can’t believe it has no elevator in spite of having 4 floors.
Not what I expected. Very narrow dark aisles leading to the rooms. Smells old. Depressing
Affordable, and clean. Great breakfast included.
Walls are thin, could hear neighbors and people walking down the hall. Bathroom smelled by really bad of urine. The place is very old, worn and dated. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok, but food food wasnt good quality. I booked this hotel because it had an 8 rating. I have stayed at hotels with lower ratings that were better then this place.
It was an overnight stay..The room was clean but could use a paint job and replce the carpet. We like the location and the price was good.
Blockages in bathtub drain and other room was very smelly(Musty odor was coming out from the AC)
Very disappointed.
Much to be desired with this stay. -The overall cleanliness was pretty bad. The bed had some weird stain on it, and the carpeted floor made our feet black from dirt after showering. -The A/C needs to be re-charged or replaced because our room was hot even after setting it low. The mini fridge was the same thing. It didn't keep our items cold. -Beds were hard as a rock, and pillows were flat. -the lights outside of our room made it difficult to sleep even with the curtains closed as far as they would go. No shades or blinds otherwise. -No lights were on for the pool area, so good luck swimming if the sun is blocked! I'd rather pay more and have basic comfort. Very disappointed with this stay. Needless to say, we won't be back.
Clean and breakfast was great. But there’s hidden fee such us room service fees and parking. Not sure if it’s clever thing especially if a night stay costs more than 350. Overall it was a nice stay
It sits halfway between two Wego stops. It was a nice 1/2 mile walk to a stop and about 2 miles to the falls. Staff was very friendly.
It’s not my first time staying at this property. And I’ll definitely stay there again. It’s in a very close proximity to Niagara Falls GO station. So regardless whether you drive or take GO train, it’s very easy to get to this hotel. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable and they have fridge and microwave in their rooms. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice! We loved the quality and the selection of items offered. The lady who works in the breakfast area is super nice and helpful. Thank you River Rapids Inn for a lovely stay. We enjoyed it :)
The room was very clean. The bed very comfortable. However fruit and juice had been left in the fridge. It seems like for a long time. It looked like the kitchenette had been newly installed and would be fine except they were no dishes and only one new pan still in its wrapper. The lack of elevator was ok but a little inconvenient. The $20 surcharge for parking was unacceptable. No one does that. The breakfast was basic but fine and a bonus to the stay. The staff seemed very friendly
The room was very clean. There was a lot of noise in the hallway at night and in the parking lot (but Niagara is a party spot). The main complaint is that the room did not have many outlets to charge devices. We had to unplug the radio clock and lamp by the bed to charge 2 phones. Otherwise the property was fine.
Property is nice just need to update in rooms. Need microwave it will be helpfull. Breakfast is excellent, compairing to others. love it.
Slightly out of the way but quiet
The pool was closed due to works going on but we were given free parking in return so no complaints. We were on the 4th floor which has just been updated. Room was clean, bed comfy but kitchen had no utensils or crockery but it did have a new frying pan so did not do any food prep. Breakfast was ok. I was hoping for GF but no luck. Fruit was there on day 2 but not day 1. Location is next to Aero Car and about 15mins drive to Niagra Falls so a good location as we got a quiet night. Food places were limited next to the hotel. We went to the food court which was basic and quite expensive.
Walkable to some main attractions. Close to the Wego bus stops which was great!
Very expensive
Simple but clean
I would not recommend this place because it was the most unsatisfactory and unpleasant hotel we stayed in during our 8-day family trip from Alberta, Ontario to Quebec and then west to Niagara Falls. First of all, we could not take a shower because the shower water was either super hot or ice cold.Second, there was no kettle or coffee maker in the room, and the microwave was only in the lobby. Third, there was an unknown smell in the room as soon as we entered the door, the sound insulation was too poor, the people walking upstairs were loud, and the floor was too loud. Fourth, the parking fee was $20 on the website, which was higher than similar hotels. When checking in, they said that this was a travel destination and they would charge an additional $5. The attitude of the front desk was not good.
Large rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, friendly helpful staff
