The residency was in a very practical location and the staff were very kind and welcoming. Me and my fiancée had a great time.

This has to be the worst hotel I've stayed in Europe. I arrived past 9 in the evening ring the bell and I had to wait outside in the rain and cold for a good 10-15 minutes. I do not speak Portuguese or Spanish and the owners speak very little English - so communication throughout my stay was terrible. There is a strong smell of cat urine or poo in the common area and even my room. My room was not cleaned on my second day, no WIFI and there was a leak at the top of the shower which I reported - they only said it was a holiday and basically did nothing. The single room was too small - I am an average size asian guy and I had to squeeze myself in the toilet and shower. The room gets really really cold as well. I am trying to think of something good about this place but I can't think of anything.

The owners were super nice... a very elderly couple and their son. My room was basic but clean. They turned it over every day. The only thing was the common area had a strong smell from a cat, I think.

Very friendly service. Room was small but clean, good bed and hot shower. In a quiet area about a half hour walk from the historic centre. Good restaurants, cafés and laundromats nearby. Basic but price is very good compared to downtown.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a little noisy because all of the floors are wood/tile so you can hear everyone entering and leaving the building, though the rooms are fairly quiet otherwise.

Fantastic little hotel a bit off the beaten path near the FC Porto training center in Porto. The owner is fun and especially friendly to Americans and the rooms are quite clean. A good buy at 40% more expensive.

Friendly staff but..

Okay for one night, but I wouldnt stay any longer than that. The staff was very nice, but the bed was awfull. The area was okay with a supermarket nearby. 40 min walk from the riviera with restaurants and souvenir shops.

Give this a miss at all costs.

Paid for a double bed in a double room ended up with a double bed in a room that you could not swing a cat in. No where to put clothes in, not one set of drawers or bedside cabinet to put clothes or any other small items in. Owners son needs education in mannerisms, very abrupt and outwardly hostile.

25 min walking from downtown, family owned hotel w very helpful and warm staff. Due to the low price I think this hotel is great, since the room was clean and normal condition and the hotel old but charming. I expected less due to the price. I had a pleasant stay.

Short staying

Family run hotel, staff extremely polite. Hotel in good condition, the building itself is a bit old, but it looks nice inside. I had a double room with basic furniture and an OK bed, if you're looking for a budget accommodation you will be pleased. The kindness of the staff is a plus.

Guy at reception (looks like owner) don't really speaks English. Payment in cash only, had to go looking for a cash machine. Economy room is in basement with just a small window, probably better pay 5 euro extra for a better room. Towels and linens are not very clean.

A few days in Porto

It was my first time in a hostel and was pleasantly surprised. Father and son were wonderful. Pablo took us to our room, showed us on map where we were and what to do, also made great recommendations for dinner. It is located outside if city but easy walk. Room and bathroom clean with fresh linens. We would stay there again!

This is what you can get for the price I guess

Pros: Great location, you can walk to downtown in 25 minutes max. Also, the personnel is very friendly. They try to solve your problems ASAP. The price was great too, just 20 Euros per room. If you have a car, free parking around the corner. Cons: The main photo on hotels.com is deceiving, that is not the correct one. The cleanliness of the room was not that great. The bed sheets had a peculiar smell that disturbed us. Also, when you enter the hotel, a disturbing odor welcomes you as well. The biggest problem was heating. The room was cold and they have no heating system at all in the rooms. So, they provided us with oil radiators which are not safe for that type of hotel. The receptionist claimed that the owner of the hotel is not allowing them to install any type of heating system, which sounded strange to me. Overall, I got what I expected for the price, but heating is a basic service that should be provided to all customers regardless of the conditions of the hotel. So, the decision is up to you.

some thing different

the hotel is a a lot further from the historic area than we had hoped - however - 2 of our best interactions with the local residents took place here - the food and drinks were ridiculously cheap and the people did their best to help us get breakfast and dinner - the room was tiny and it was warm inside but this is the one experience we will talk about for a long time - the rooms and the check in place are about 200 steps apart - Paulo gave us the quick tour as he escorted us to the "Filial"

Estadia de Descanso

A estadia correu lindamente, o senhor Paulo foi muito simpático e muito atencioso connosco! O quarto não foi bem o que estávamos à espera mas era confortável na mesma, e pudemos deixar os nossos pertences em segurança e ter uma boa noite de sono e descanso! Recomendo! :)

Esta propriedade é simples mas bem conservada. Perto de mercado Não é muito no centro mas você pode caminhar e chegar nos principais pontos turísticos ou pegar o ônibus que passam perto. Para o meu objetivo oeste alojamento me atendeu muito bem

Traditionelle Pension in Porto

Die Rezeption ist erst ab 15:00 besetzt. Einchecken ist vorher nicht möglich. Sehr schönes traditionelles portugiesisches Haus in ruhiger Wohngegend. Supermarkt und preiswertes Café für Frühstück sind in der Nähe. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich. Alles sehr sauber und sicher, Zimmer wird täglich gereinigt. Vom Flughafen kann man mit der Metro ohne umsteigen bis zur Station Lapa fahren und von dort laufen, ca. 15 Minuten. Stadtzentrum ist fußläufig zu erreichen ca. 30 Minuten.

On s'y sens bien, l'établissement est bien décoré et les chambres sont calme. Le gérant est vraiment accueillant et bienveillant! Seuls bémols, l'éclairage dans la chambre et la salle de bain était un peu faible à notre goût, et la porte vitré de la baignoire n'est pas vraiment hermétique. Et enfin 2 étages sans ascenseur ce n'est pas evident avec les bagages. Nous recommondons cependant.

El lugar es agradable por la atención de sus sueños que están vertientes de cualquier detalle. Está cerca del centro tomando el bus 600 cuya parada está como a doscientos metros del hotel.

Estadia razoável. Local antigo, sem elevador. Ninguém oferece ajuda pra levar as malas nas escadas. Horários enjoados de entrada e saída, além do que é uma casa de idosos. Não voltaria, mas foi uma estadia agradável.

Não fiquei no endereço em que informam, cheguei cansada de viagem com malas e tive que andar até lá. O quarto é bem limpo mas muito abafado por ser num piso abaixo e o acesso das escadas é horrível. A unica vantagem foi o preço e o fato de ter uma confeitaria maravilhosa bem em frente ao predio.

Posizione diversa da quella dove abbiamo effettuato il chek in, le camere erano pulite e con tutti i confort solo che erano al di sotto del livello della strada, una chicca una delle due camere aveva l'entrata nel bagno (cioè entravi nel bagno e da li c'era l'entrata nella camera)

Nettes altes und Familiäres kleines Hotel etwas außerhalb vom Porto Stadtkern. Bett, Fernsehen, WiFi, Eigenes Bad, alles da. In der Beschreibung stand zwar was von Frühstück, aber wir haben am ersten Abend nur eine Visitenkarte von einem Frühstücksrestaurant bekommen, von daher glaube ich es gab keins. Wir wollten eigentlich 10 Tage bleiben, sind aber nach 4 Nächten weitergereist um mehr vom Urlaub zu haben. Für die Zeit war es okay.

For the price we paid we are really satisfied. The room was cleaned, we had a comfortable bed and a big plus for the air condition. The owners of the residence was a really sweet and friendly family, they made the stay even better.

Box do banheito

O box do banheiro é muito pequeno, não Dá para se virar dentro dele sem bater na torneira - aí cai água muito quente nas costas. E o banheiro tem um bom tamanho, dava para o box se maior. O quarto em que fiquei ficava numa espécie de porão, uma escadinha difícil para chegar. Mas o quarto era limpo, Tv de bom tamanho, canais a cabo.

Una settimana indimenticabile

Questo hotel ci ha fatti sentire come a casa nostra. Il signor José e suo figlio gestiscono l'albergo da molti anni sempre con un sorriso genuino e un'attenzione premurosa verso gli ospiti. La stanza molto grande,ben arredata e molto pulita. L'albergo al momento non fornisce la colazione, però i proprietari ci hanno indirizzati in un'ottima pasticceria a buon mercato fornita di ogni genere di leccornia portoghese,incluse le pastel de nata e il bolo brigaderio (assolutamente da provare ). Se mai dovessimo tornare a Porto tra qualche anno siamo certi che il Residencial Vale Formoso sarà di nuovo la nostra casa.

Zimmer gut ausgestattet mit Klima und Kühlschrank. Superfreundliche Betreiberfamilie!!! Würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder buchen und weiterempfehlen.
