Breakfast spread is one of the best in JB. Room is comfortable too but could use some in-room scent to elevate the experience.

Best place to stay if only for 1-2 days

My love for Renaissance Hotel

Comfy in all areas, staff are friendly and efficient plus welcoming. Parking is convenient and I just love this hotel. Have been staying here during business trips and family trips. Ambient is great and have arrays of variety of choices. I used to purchase the membership vouchers, however I stopped due to benefits are not as attractive as it used to be😊

The experience was good but could have been excellent. Here’s why: I had initially wanted to extend my stay for another night but she was unable to give me the room rate for the next day. She said the hotel room rates fluctuate daily and asked me to check again the next day. While I understood room rates fluctuate, I am quite surprised that hotel front desk staffs do not have access to the room rates prior. This is the first time a front desk staff is unable to tell me the room rate for extension of my stay in any hotel. If I check the hotel website, it will be able to give me a rate for rooms booked months in advance. The same staff have knowledge that our rooms come with breakfast (she repeated that to me when during checkin) but did not inform us the time and location where breakfast is served. We were also not informed about how to log into the hotel room wifi. I had to figure it out myself to realise there was no password required. I don’t think the front desk staffs should take for granted that hotel guests know these information without being informed. For the lack of initiative of the staffs, I decided not to extend my stay. Concierge- we had to validate our car park coupon. I was waiting in front of the concierge for a while. A lady who looked liked the front desk manager took a look at us and walked away, not asking if we need any help. Another example of the hotel staff lacking initiative.

Last minute JB stay

Last minute decided to stay for a night after having great seafood and shopping, first time stay at this hotel and definitely will come back again. Great service provided and allow us to extend check out.

The hotel is well maintained. The area is full of dining options and gives a real feeling of JB. There are a few Thai Massage places, as well. If you have buiness, it's a good hotel to stay.

Spacious room.

The staffs at the front desk were polite and helpful. The only thig that need to be improve is the housekeeping in the rooms. Stayed 3 nights, used glasses were not washed and empty water bottles were not cleared.

This was a nice place to stay after a day at Legoland

Disappointed paying so much for terrace at 6th floor. Check in was made to wait for 2 hours plus upon registered despite i was told to wait for one hours Room door locking chain detached and unable to lock from inside. Heavy rain leaks thru the room door as the roof above was leaking. Bath tub unable to drain water as the turning knob to the valve was detached. Overall experience was bad.

Close to one of the nicest malls around ( Mid Valley South Key ) Room was imppecable! Quiet location with eager to help staff!

The building and design is quite old, and the sound proof is bad cause you can hear people closing their door,and even phone ringing also can be heard. Overall,I think the hotel is overpriced, I don't feel it worth the 5 star.

The bed was very comfortable and room was kept clean and well maintained.

Serenity and class and amenities

5th time staying. But seems to be better now with new management. Gd service and and food. This hotel is above the rest because of serenity, class and amenities ie restaurants and local shopping. Well done renaissance jb! Ps only advice is to look at centralised aircon which could be difficult to expect at times

Nice and comfortable hotel

The bed is very comfortable. I can fall asleep within 10 mins. The pillow is nice and comfortable too. The buffet breakfast have a wide spread and many types of foods to eat. It’s also have many types of fruits juices to drink too. I will definitely stay again at this hotel at JB.

Pleasant Stay!

Location is convenient and security at parking is good. Hotel staff is very friendly and breakfast has a very good spread of choices.

I was amazed by the room this time round, well equipped and clean, and surprised that the room service for food and beverage has resumed. Staffs at the front desk were very polite, friendly and helpful, not forgetting the other service staffs as well. A great place to stay and unwind. Bravo!

Staff service for Valentine’s Day is excellent

Room has musky smell, carpets feels sticky which wasn't great. Facilities are great, breakfast buffet was excellent.

Very clean and comfortable stay

All is good but room separated by connecting room are not sound proof at all. Can hear conversations from the next room very clearly and I'm sure they can hear us too.

I like the cleanliness of the room. Bed and pillows are super comfortable. Car park security is very good.

BOXING DAY

Check in was a thumb down due to the internet glitch that lasted quite long for the whole building. Issued a card for 2 connecting rooms which we could not access to. Recovery services was not present though we booked for club services. Improvements could be achieved if contingency plans designed. Overall stay was acceptable.

Great hotel

Excellent hotel, clean and well-maintained. Room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is very reasonably priced and there’s a good spread. Convenient drive to big malls such as KSL and Mid valley. Will book again if coming to JB.

Great location.

Had a pleasant stay over the weekend with Families of 5. Stayed with interconnecting rooms. The property is quite run down but that is okay. We face the bay view which is facing Singapore and the road. There’s hair conditioner, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush etc. Only downside is quite far from JB sentral but nevertheless will stay again next time.

Best hotel in JB

Pleasant and nice stay. Numerous times I have been staying here. Breakfast is good varieties and hotel is also surrounded by retail shops and local food.

One of the finest hotel in JB town, offers excellent service, F&B and room quality.

The room is great.

Stayed in club room, good experience but if club lounge food can be better very limited choice for afternoon tea. Buffet breakfast was very good alot of choices. Near by have everything things you need, restaurant, spa, car wash & supermarket.

The atmosphere, staff and food options

The room service had a kids menu that was delicious. And the breakfast spread had a great selection. Staff were friendly and valet service was very on the ball. Really enjoyed our stay!

The lobby smells so good when u enter...this was my first time going to this hotel....but it was such a great stay and service provided by the hotel

The stay was for one night, and the check-in was alright. The room is average in my opinion. Basic amenities and facilitates. The lunch buffet spread was below average with some very blanddishes. The hot coffee was so diluted, even the milk couldn't recognise it!The staff at the restaurant were very attentive however. Moving past that, the real disaster came during the In-Room dining order for dinner. Ordered a simple burger with a Cesar salad. The meat patty was entirely raw in the middle, dry and hard on the outside. The salad didn't have any side dressing, it had to be asked for specially. After a few failed attempts of trying to call the service number, I decided to leave the prodded meal outside the door. The following day, I tried to call the service number so many times and the calls were never answered. I had tried calling the hotel main line through my mobile phone, and no answer. After a ridiculous number of tries, the call was answered, I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs and sausages. They announced that it would take 45 minutes! I told them that it would be cutting close to check out, to which I received no response. The breakfast finally comes up with a ghastly set of eggs. With not much time to spare, I tried to ask for a delayed check out, and I was given 30 minutes extra. Upon checking out, I asked for the manager and told him of the nasty experience, to which he apologised and that was that! Dinner was a healthy violation, and breakfast was poor management

Overall my stay with my family was good. Area of the hotel is very convenient and accessible with local food, eateries and restaurants. The hotel might want to review on the quality of food and the varieties. My buffet dinner on my first night was a very crowded one. Groups of ppl oragnising their events at the cafe which was messy and overcrowded. Food was often seen shortage and some raw food (ie oysters) were not fresh. Place was too overcrowded and very noisy.

Mostly Very Good

Friendly and helpful service from front desk and concierge. Free wifi and parking was appreciated. Gym had a good range of equipment and weights. Buffet breakfast was fairly good. Compared to some international hotels, not so updated e.g. no usb wall charging plugs, bluetooth speaker to stream music. Quite a lot of eating options within walking distance from hotel including Old Street food. Short drive from Mid Valley Mall which currently is one of the best in JB IMHO. Had difficulty getting mobile network signal in hotel carpark/vicinity which made it difficult to use google maps to get direction to where we wanted to go.

Getting to the room was always challenging as the lift card reader often fails to activate the floor. The room gets stuffy during the hours of 4-6am as the aircon settings becomes haywire. Room was clean and bed comfotable. Liked the resupply of bottled water everyday.

pros: great staff. great buffet- one of the best asian buffets ive had- soo much choice but also had the quality as well. clean and modern rooms. free parking. easy to find. cons: car park needs a tidy up to match the rest of the hotel. they dont align. main road fairly near so some road noise when busy.

One Night Stayover

Well furnished business hotel in the Permas Jaya area of Johor Bahru. Plenty of free parking and good breakfast selection. One of the tallest buildings in the area offering unblocked views of the surrounding areas.

Quiet environment and the room is well-maintained.

The breakfast is an excellent spread catering from Continental to Asian foods. Special commendation for the pastry section. The croissants were freshly baked and the waffles/ pancakes were yummy! The buffet dinner came with fresh sashimi with oomph and the best baked salmon I have ever eaten!

Couple of days away…

Lovely hotel. Ambience was great. Location was perfect. Just can see a bit of wear and tear happening, it looks old and you can feel it too. Room overall was ok, didn’t seem like it was vacuumed properly before we arrived. Bathroom space in the suite was huge, the lounge was nice too.

Not a bad hotel, good location

Location of hotel was good, lots of eatery nearby. Room was cleaned as well. Only cons were valet parking was charged at Rm$30 per use/entry (even though you are a guest staying at the hotel), but they also provide free parking at their mutli story carpark.

Polite and professional hotel staff Room is clean and the size is big. 2 extra size single bed. My wife & i one bed while my son have another bed. Around the hotel a lot eateries, banks and one Aeon Shopping Mall. Just the down side is the swimming pool. Nothing fancy about the swimming pool and my son not intrest to go for it. But I believe is business hotel as around have shop and that is small factory area in driving distance. But overall the hotel is good.

All good. But way too many families in crisis situation like covid outbreak where social distancing are a must. I did not feel comfortable with hundreds of people around me, and kids running around touching things. They spread virus as well.

Great hotel

Great hotel with great facilities. Family-friendly but convenient for business traveller also, fast and easy check-in, good view as you can face strait and the other country. Shops and food outside are walking distance...also 5 minutes away by car from famous Senibong seafood restaurants. Buffet breakfast also good and variety of choices with friendly staff and asst restaurant manager Ahmad Zamri will always smile welcome their guest.
