Non smoking hotel but always smell smoke, broken furniture, very dusty
Quite outdated but clean. Hotel has veen left behind with the times aince the closure of Kai Tak airport which was once across the street
In between of staying we have one night Trip to disneyland lodge and need bring all luggage to Disneyland cause they dont have baggage storage. Then hotel no provide laundry bag.
Old and inconvenient
Hotel is old and out of the way.
The hotel is very old. None of the part of the room is matching the pictures shown on the website. Room is acceptable but all the facilities is very old.
Terrible service
The room is not clean at all. There were dust on the floor and the chair was not comfortable. Walls are dirty and during the stay a staff broke into my room while I was sleeping. Terrible!
The room is spacious and is harbour, quite comfortable.
Better if you offer breakfast and buffet package. The reception is clean and also the room.
Room is large enough and clean, staff is friendly.Unfortunately it is not too close to MTR station, most of the time have to get a taxi to get there.
The room had musty smell. My flight was 9pm and hotel did not allow us to leave luggage at hotel after check out. I would not stay here again.
Front desk people were patient with my bad chinese. They helped me every time I needed with a smile. Somepne always opened the lobby door for me. I believe the workers have pride in the Regal Oriental and honor its history in the area.
hotel is tired, biggest inconvenience is absence of shower curtain and exhaust fan in the bathroom.
stay elsewhere!
The room is dated and smells like smoke, despite Booking a non smoking room with them. The customer service only offer to spray some air freshener. Many things are broken and I’m need for be updated.
We booked an Executive Club room for the perks of having the Executive Club Lounge and better room quality. The room had an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning. The room itself was a good size and looked out over the to the cruise terminal. However the bed was extremely hard (even though we like a firm mattress) and the decor was dated and had seen better days (especially the finishes in the bathroom). A coffee machine was provided however without any capsules (which they advertised as HK$20 each). The biggest con and negative was the Executive Club lounge. This was not a lounge, but a small cornered off area in the pub on the ground floor. During the day there were a few cans of soft drink in the fridge and a few leftover pastries from breakfast. We were told that between 5-8pm there was a cocktail hour with hot food, however when we went back and asked about the hot food, the member of staff walked us to the empty hot plates, then looked confused, went off to the kitchen before coming back to say no hot food. As for alcoholic drinks there were a couple of bottles of spirits and can of beer. It was very depressing. Breakfast the next morning was simple and lacking for an Executive Club (hard boiled eggs/beans/sausage), with bread to toast. The few small pastries were not fresh and had come out of packets. The jug of juice was long life concentrated juice. Tables weren’t cleared or cleaned from previous guests (no staff around). Upon checkout I complained abo
Clean and Big rooms.
I have booked a bacis room and when check in, I was asked if I would like to upgrade to a modenised room in a higher floor for addition £10 a day. After looking at the rooms I decided to upgrade to the offered executive room which is very spacious and glossy. I have checked with hotel.com again and found that the room I stayed would have cost £30 a night more. I have enjoyed the stay. The only draw back is that there is no underground nearby. There are good bus networks but you have to get familiar with them.
Upgraded to the club floors which is nice, the room was very spacious and relatively clean. The drain in the bath tub was not draining properly and they fixed it right away. Lots of restaurants near by and free shuttle bus service.
The room is clean and spacious. Location is good. But the hotel and room need to be improved. There are only 2 power sockets in the room with one next to the desk and one near the window. There are no sockets near the beds. And there is no shower curtain in the bathroom. The bathroom gets wet after shower.
Smoking smell in nnn-smoking rooms and common area
Guests smoking in non-smoking rooms/floors. The hotel do not take proper actions to stop guests smoking in their rooms or clean up the smoking smell before giving those rooms to new guests.
The property is close to the city and it's not too close to the chaos...
If you stay on the business floor, the the hotel is good value for money. Staff are excellent. Getting about Hong Kong requires a bit more work but it is manageable. Restaurants nearby are outstanding.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PLACE !! BEDS BUGS AND COCHROACES everywhere.Vey rude staff and dirty smelly room. Never stay at this hotel.
good room good. stay
i like to free shuttle bus to station. room very comfort
It is based in Kowloon city near local amenities, shops, food, clothing etc. Good transort ie buses to Monkok, Kowloon tong and big buddah and lots more places jut ask the concierge. The hotel is good and the rooms big and clean , staff very good and lots of facilities just ask Danny Lamm the concierge . Thanks DANNY for all your help, the hotel also a a free mini bus.
The staff were excellent and the room was well equipped.
Hotel is a bit dated otherwise is clean and most important it’s smoke-free!
The staffs are very helpful. It is convenient to go anywhere that we want.
Rooms were very clean staff was very professional just needed more coffee
A great hotel in a great location.
I stayed for 17 nights at this hotel while in Hong Kong on business. It was clean, comfortable, and convenient. I used the club lounge for breakfast in the morning and snacks/beverages in the evening. There was a wide choice of items, and it very was helpful to be able to get something quickly due to my busy schedule. The service from staff persons was excellent - thoughtful and considerate. I loved the location for long walks around interesting things. The hotel is also only a short walk from a nice mall with good restaurants and a large grocery store.
Overall satisfactory. Location is convenient. Staff are friendly.
Nice stay
Nice stay
Good Stay
Good stay and value for money
Overall good
Good location for food. The hotel is dated. Accessible to public transportation if you do your research. I.E. A22 bus from HK airport to Regal Oriental Hotel bus stop-walk 2 mins and arrive at hotel (look carefully as the trees covered the hotel). Going back from hotel to HK airport is a reverse process. You have to go thru a underground walkway to cross other side of the street. The room we stayed in was smelly but replaced after we made a request. Courteous service.
We stayed here for 9 days. it was pleasing overall but it is not a 4 stars property, 3 stars would be more on the mark. We'd stayed there a few years ago, we felt the standard has somehow slipped. Staff were friendly and seemed happy to help. In our room, the toilet didn't flush easily and the little bar fridge in the room wasn't really cold. We mentioned a couple of times to the desk and it had been seen to twice, finally we were told it was meant to be like that with lowest temp of 8C, so it was pretty useless when come to keeping milk or juice. The free shuttle bus to Kowloon Station was good. The area surrending the property was suburbian but it was fine with us. Transport was readily available with buses just outside the hotel. Maybe an update would freshen the place.
Vacation time in Hong Kong
Awesomeness
Stayed in a club room but no dedicated club lounge staff permanently in the lounge . So all self service and no one there to ask questions . Food and drinks and items like serviettes ran out in between staff visits but could call down for replenishments though phone didn’t always work. All staff pleasant and friendly . Check in and check out very smooth and no real queues. Arrived early after an overnight flight but told we could wait in the lounge and have a needed coffee whilst we waited for our room which was much appreciated . Room clean , big bed , comfortable . The odd bit of mould in the bathroom which was small but useable. Good hot , powerful shower over the bath . No spare toilet rolls so had to call housekeeping. Generally a pleasant stay , out of the way for the usual tourist hot spots but felt more authentic as the old walled city close by and local shops and markets.
We were very happy with our two days at the Regal Oriental. The only complaint that the air conditioning was on the cool side and also somewhat noisey. Since there are two Regals in Kowloon, we suggest recommending to your guests that they take a hotel a card to show to taxi drivers, who rarely have any English, where to take them back to.
Great experience
I was there for nearly a month on business and the staff were great. It is a good location with bus stops and a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. It is very close to the Walled City Park and it is easy to get anywhere in Kowloon, to shopping in Mong Kok and to the main island,
Old, cleaning staff did not clean properly, had weird odor.
Nothing extraordinary. Environment is just so so.
This hotel good they are upgrade xecutive room, Cleaning service very good.
Its quite noisy as you can hear the next room. There is no room service becoz they never answerd ro the phone. So far this is the worse experience in Expedia.
Very nice hotel!
Very convenient location to meet with H K friends who live nearby. A bit of a walk to the metro but a mini bus to Kowloon Tong is nearby.
Very clean and nice. Far from subway station , staff are friendly
Room was not like in showing in picture... the booking time it was superior room but they give me room was not superior
I was charged this hotel as a 4 stars hotel, it doesnt even make it to 3! I really dont know your system in giving starts to a hotel. This hotel is in a horrible neighborhood, the hotel smells, it is dirty, the rooms smells like cigarrettes although I requested a non-smoking room, the rooms around were smoking rooms and the cigarette smell will come through the ceiling fan and all over. The host at the hotel restaurant smelled like he had an ashtray inside his pocket, his hands smelled like cigarette and he touched all my utensils with it, leaving a disgusting smell and not wanting to eat there at all. I trusted until now that Expedia was good at this, I guess you are not! I feel like I was "legally" robbed. This hotel is not, whatsoever, a 4 stars, not even 3 stars. Avoid this hotel if you dont want to spoil your vacations like I did when I trusted Expedia will deliver. So dissapointed, for the second time! I think that my relationship with Expedia is over!! I trusted you, you didnt deliver nor cared!!
Good hotel
We'll located next to the walled city. Room spacious and clean.
We had a great view of the old airport and could see the water in the distance. Was quite fascinating to see what work is going on in the old site. The location was a bit tricky for us as it isn't close to the MTR but we managed to master getting around on the bus as the bus stops are very close. The mini buses to Mong Kok stop right outside the hotel which was great.
It was so good all services and want to go back again. Food buffet and berakfast was so delicious.
I have stayed in the same room for consecutives 6 days. The flooring and tables were not been cleaned. A lot of stains on floor. The room telephone seems to not have cleaned for months.
Fantastic hotel to stay
Always an enjoyable stay at this hotel.
Sorry but I would recommend this hotel to anyone simple facts it was too far and they didn’t have a shuttle bus, also the staff is not friendly and gave us wrong information.
generally not bad, except for the consiege service which is disappointing
Great deal in Kawloon City
I had an event at the Kitec to attend. I have been to Hong Kong several times before and have stayed at the Regal Oriental many times before. It us a very nice hotel for a decent price. If there is a negative, it's kind of by itself but the hotel does have restaurants.
Nice hotel, great room lots of space. But be careful of rooms near the busy road on one side of the airport. Other than that - very good hotel with very good breakfasts and eating choices
poor service and bad mannered staff. overall disappointed with the stay and also quite a distance away from major attractions.
Everything is very good except it is too far away from subway station
It’s a great accommodation located close to the bus stop, whose bus goes for the international airport. The cleanliness of this hotel was wonderful. Its facilities are much enough.
The rooms were decently spacious and quite modern. But the bathrooms in the King Suite were interesting because the showers didn't have any doors to close with. Also, in the King Suite that I was in, there weren't many available plug outlets to charge my phone with.
Feel comfortable in this roomy area. Appreciate they have a mini gym room for me to continue cardio ex. However, rooms got smoking smells even though I've picked a non-smoking room (even gym room floor is non smoking floor, they got cigarette smell). Have to think twice if you really sensitive to smoke. It's a good price for this spacious room.
This is an older property however, the rooms are spacious. The location is great a 5 minute walk to the bus station and a new MTR station is being built. Lots of food choices nearby.
too much noisy
The room was very humid and stinky.
Executive Club Room - What I like about this room is that it is very roomy and luxurious and modern. Guest stay in the Executive Club Room have access to the Executive Lounge where breakfast & daily evening coctail are served and fast internet computer access. The added benefit is the extended check-out time at 4pm. We,ve stayed at this hotel three times and found the staff at the front desk and concierge are always very proffessional and helpful. What I don't like is the carpet in the room- it felt sticky and has an unpleasant damp odour. Also it was difficult to flush the toilet as it was hard to press the button down.
Decent hotel but far from main attractions
Hotel and the staff were all very good. I would stay here again but I probably wouldn't recommend it if your going to stay in Hong Kong for the first time. Not enough to do there. However, if you want something with some piece and quiet in Hong Kong then it will meet your needs. Also, the pictures on hotels.com website weren’t exactly the room that I got, my room felt rather dated.
Nice stay for couples
Cozy, spacious, with a surprisingly sweet birthday upgrade. Polite and welcoming atmosphere after all. Only one suggestion: Change the hair dryer into a new version with stronger wind and an on-off button without asking the user to keep pressing the button throughout the entire hair-drying process, which is pretty annoying for those who have long hair and take forever to dry their hair.
The location is great for our daily trips to n from st. Teresa's Hospital. The staff there was extremely helpful especially the gentlemen at concierge. the front desk staff was also very efficient. Moreover the hotel upgraded our room which is really big n bright, though the view is no good due to the construction sites opposite to the hotel. However due to the bad smell n stains in toilets (may be due to the age of the property) such as sinks n bath tubs, we discontinue our stay in the hotel after 2 nights. It also seems to us that there was no exhaust fan in the toilet
Wouldn’t recommend
The location not so good it’s far from the center. The room was very stinky. Also it was freezing in the room and when I called the reception and asked for help because I was freezing out in the room they said there is nothing they can do about it. Same when I asked about the bad smell
Remote location provides silent & restful environment
the staff was very friendly, and the room comfortable and clean good hotel, great location.
location not exciting. eating and general shopping easy to reach. A nice heritage park nearby.
room looks nicer in the picture, hotel itself is in quite an old building.
A nice place to stay, quiet, comfort and warmest.
all the staff have been very nice and friendly, and especially helpful to those working in the luggage department / porters. I would be happy to stay there if I am on holiday in hong kong.
Thanks Louis for special arrangement
Not the best view, but great staffs, clean, spacious easy access to public transportation.
Poor location with poor public transport. Unfriendly and rude staff. The room was not cleaned thoroughly from the previous guest staying found a eaten grape branch in the room. Bed and blanket was dusty and not cleaned with stains
I like the location very convenient.room is clean, service was good.everthing was well done.
Regal was located at the old airport at the Kowloon side. Buses to get around was super easy. Restaurants was a walk away and easy to get to. Downside side, hotel had no pool or complimentary coffee.
Double Charging
The stay was fine. Yet the billing was a disaster, for I was charged two nights while I just booked and stayed for one night. Now, I am having a hard time locating the customer service for a complaint and follow up
The hotel wifi is very poor quality, I checked with the staff when checked in and he reassured me there would be wifi in room. Yes there is wifi in the room but it keep disconnecting.
Satisfactory. Many transportation options. Eating places nearby.
It is a very high quality hotel for its price. However, it is located in a poor area location and also does not have subway near by and must take minibus to subways.
The hotel staff say we can’t have two key cards. We have a family of 4! Never heard of before
this property is very dirty, smells like cigarettes in every room. very poor
Hotel room was a bit tatty. The window had been covered with film so it let light in but you couldn't see out, apart from the small bit someone had pulled away - the surrounding area was a bit dingy. Generally everything worked but my 'upgrade' to a room with 2 double beds was a bit lost on me, i'd rather have had the extra space than be able to sleep in 2 beds, 1 per night. All in all it was comfortable and relaxing.
Good customer service, nice staff, highly recommend friends and family if traveling to Hong Kong
Staff are very friendly, able to check in and check out fast. They upgraded us for free. So, the room we stayed at was very spacious. I love the free bottles of water everyday. They have several restaurants in the hotel. Close to bus station that can basically take you anywhere.
I always stay at this hotel when I travel to Hong Kong. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean. I've never had a bad experience here and it is very close to many bus stations.
The hotel has everything I require for a business trip - a quiet executive lounge where I can grab a quick bite and have an evening drink, a spacious gym, shuttle bus, etc. In addition, I think soon the hotel requires a renovation. I stayed in an executive room on 14th floor and while the room is clean, some of furnitures are a bit dated.
Very good service
Had an issue with my room. The staff immediately upgraded me to a better room. Impressed with their service.
It was close walking distance to a 7-eleven and easy to walk out to bus station. Last time my sister stayed here, she had somebody come in and clean without have to request. They even said to her and her husband , “ no please let us clean. It is our job.” We did not get water bottle refill and the garbage In our room
This hotel is a little off the beaten track for the main happenings in Hong Kong. A taxi has to be taken
The hotel is pretty decent, it is not luxurious or anything but it is a good hotel. The only problem we had was at the restaurant, the day we arrived two of us ate pasta with an alfredo base sauce, we had a really bad stomachache and diarrhoea later, we reported it to the restaurant but they acted like it was not their fault when the only ones that got sick were the ones that ate the alfredo sauce.
Fair but too pricey
Fair accommodation but too pricey. Location not ideal too far from major attractions.
The hotel is an older one but the Room was clean. Customer service was good.
Great hotel
Price is right. Room is clean and spacious. Although not at tourist area nor near mrt, it can be reach with many busses.
I requested early check in when I book the room and I understand it is only based on availability. I arrived the hotel at around 9:30am and I was told the room type I booked has no room available till 2pm or after but if they have room available if I am willing to pay an extra HK$220 to upgrade to the club floor. I don't believe they have no room available, they just want me to pay extra. I stayed in this hotel many times but the floor I was put in this time has not yet been remodelled. They only have a all-in-one body wash/shampoo/conditioner available inside the shower. I called the housekeeping trying to get some body lotion and she told me body lotion is not available for that floor. I paid $103 for one night, this is ridiculous!
Good value for money
If you after shopping for designer brands, then this is not the one for you. Rooms were big and clean, quite local neighbourhood and lots of eating options.
Ok
It was ok. Bathroom needs renovating. Quite shabby. We asked to be moved which reception complied. Great restaurants one block from the Hotel.
The property was really safe, quiet and convenient. It was close to public transit and also has full taxi access to the airport. Additionally, it's located in a very convenient location in HK by a metro station and a major bus station within 5 minutes of walking.
