Beautiful property on the water with great view
The place has an horrible smell as you walk into the lobby. Getting towels and washclothes is like pulling teeth. The food options are few and the breakfast that is "included" DISASTER I will never stay here again and would NEVER ever recommend this place
V
Very convenient location. Casino downstairs. Love it.
Moldy, out of menu of lots of items, no coffee maker’s in room, forgot towels in the room.
Safe’s don’t work, no coffee makers in some rooms, and other rooms have a coffee maker with no coffee. Moldy in elevators and foyer. Restaurant is frequently out of menu items and rooms are never ready at check in.
Sunrise was beautiful
You will regret staying here. I checked out early.
Staff was friendly, however, our bathroom shower tub was clogged.
A hotel to stay at
Very nice hotel. Staff is exceptional and any problems were addressed and taken care of quickly. Room was clean and the daily service was also exceptional. The hotel is located near several restaurants along with a park that has several food vendors. The area is nice and lively on the weekends. The hotel has a lounge, casino and movie theater making this a better than normal destination for tourists.
Love the vibe there. cute little pub on property with great food cabana was perfect and cleaning staff did amazing. Pool open 24-7 was a nice touch .
Room
I don't think the bathroom toilet was cleaned very well. The rooms definitely need to be updated a little. No phone in the room and only one bottle of water whereas last month there were 2 bottles in the room. Also the tv reception was very poor. The windows really need to be cleaned on the outside although I realize that is hard on an ocean front property to keep them clean.
I enjoyed our time. It was not a typical Wyndham property but the employees were very pleasant.
Our room was clean and check in and out was a breeze. Staff were actively making improvements to the property, which appears to be an ongoing process. Everyone was warm and welcoming, the property is in a convenient location. I would say the Ramada is functional and affordable.
Doors in the room need to be fixed. We got old towels that look like they haven’t changed it in years. No AC in the rooms…? Which they should have. Bathrooms need a complete upgrade. Receptionist was trying to be nice you could have heard it in her voice. Which most staff do anywhere just to make their money.
For Ramada group this is really bad. old hotel with old facilities. Not much choice for food as well.
Won’t stay there again
Staff was nice . Breakfast I think thy could do better . But for the price was ok . The pool don’t plan to spend time there . I didn’t see chairs and the bar outside was abandoned . The room view was nice .
Covientient for airport access. Old hotel has seen its better days. The moldy smell everywhere, especially the bedroom, overwhelms any attempt at upkeep. Restaurant food very good. Breakfast included is a healthy plus. Views are fantastic. Staff at reception & restaurant were also fantastic.
Food terrible bed awfully everything in the hotel is worn out
Priced accordingly
Friendly staff quick check in clean rooms.Room was as advertised Only issue is that it is in need of repairs But I have feeling that this has not happened due to the scam demic and probably won’t recover from it so sad.
Hotel was right on the water, had great sunrises in the morning. Staff was friendly. There is a pizza place next door and a ice cream place across the street.
A good price with friendly staff a great bed had a good night's sleep great pool
Terrible!!! Dirty and smelly everywhere. Zero attention to detail. Staff was rude. Our sheets were extremely poor quality. We didn’t even have a fitted sheet but just a sheet thrown over the mattress. Halls and all areas were dirty. Restaurant had mess on tables and chairs after they were “cleaned”. Placemats had stains. I usually don’t leave reviews but am now to say stay away!! They have a lot of work to do. Yuck!
Good
Room wasn’t clean. Looks nothing like the picture, nothing around the area, local told us the area at night wasn’t safe
I would stay there again
Staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is falling apart sadly 😭
While the hotel is far from new, it is suitable for an overnight.
The bartender was funny but slow
Time to renovate
Belize is improving and new hotels are building with more modern amenities. Princess Ramada, it’s time to upgrade. You have a prime location so upgrade to rack in even more profit. The people are coming so make it look better. Tile broken in bathrooms, too much furniture in rooms, no microwave. The beds are comfy and you are close to bars and restaurants with friendly people
A review not to brag about!
Hotel has age issues, only 2 nice towels in room, had to ask for wash cloths. SAFE DIDN'T WORK in room! Desk help was clueless just about everything. One bottle of water in room even though there there was more than one guest. Stopped at Fort George Hotel to ask about the old beautiful Radisson only to find it was distroyed for a new Hotel. The concierge at Fort George by the name of Chloe even though we didn't stay there covered our 15 day stay in Belize with ideas about what to do on our whole trip better than Google ever thought of doing with no ads or junk to skim through. The Ramada Pool was very nice but no hand rail at end I went in and pool floor was super slippery falling in and almost cracked my back and skull. A law suit waiting to happen. Breakfast had a lot to be desired. Hard boiled eggs were good as well as the cheese (tasted like blue cow cheese)! Red beans were ok, but could stand more seasoning, sliced meat was good. Watermelon was not very ripe and pineapple looked dry from sitting out. However beds were firm and comfortable. I know not the best review! Oh and at the casino in the hotel qthe poker table that I sat at wiped out every player that sat down. The only player that got good hands was the dealer by some odd reason to the point that I asked if there was a midget in the card shuffler stacking the deck. Since it was slow I sat there watching each player being wiped out one by one after I was cleaned out. Very weird!
Amazing view, plenty of gathering areas to socialize. Good food for breakfast as well
This hotel is in very bad shape and needs to be renovated. The surrounding of the hotel is dirty. The staff is not friendly at all and the breakfast buffet was far below of or expectations. They charge way too much for what you get. It is definitely not worth $125.00/night.
Room dirty- filthy! Everything sticks, stains and unknown dirt all over the furniture, bed, table, cahirs, no towels( you have to ask for). Restaurant- dinner uncooked tortillias, molded cream cheese, fries were even cold. Brekfast- awful, cold hotdogs, discolored eggs- scrambled eggs! The only thing that you could acualy eat is bread or dry cereal- milk definatly does not taste good. After traveling for the last 15 years all over the places, this stay was the winner of the awfulness, we could not believe it acualy stays open and there is people stay here.
Rooms felt dirty - convenient for airport
Grounds were unkempt and full of trash. Service for breakfast was very poor. No convenient outlets in room to charge devices.
Gross. People came in our room and tried several other times during the night. Room smelled like sewage and rot. Stay away!
Property didn’t match pictures provided on internet
I expected a lot more cleanliness. Perfect location but I guess my expectation was too high.
Convenient stay in Belize city
The bed was very comfortable room had a view of the sea. Check in was fast and smooth. Air conditioner and fan very noisy but worked well.
Good
Run down place. Didn't have much to offer. It felt unsafe in and out of the hotel. There was no hot water. We had to call reception and that took a while to get the hot water back on and even then it only got warm.
Nice large room. Comfortable. Typical Ramada. Small fridge. No coffee maker in room. No wash clothes for cleaning face. Comfortable beds. Blackouts don’t close all the way. Clean and comfortable. Ocean view room w/ 2 beds. Definitely book on Expedia and not through the hotel. Rental cars are outrageously expensive in Belize. Everything else is reasonable. Move that a breakfast is included but don’t expect much. There are other hotel restaurants close by that serve amazing food. Staff is friendly. Service can be slow but life in Belize is slow. Coffee is horrible. Please put coffee machines on rooms. Would stay here again for the price.
Nice
Outdated property. No microwave or coffee maker in rooms. Breakfast was terrible. Empty food trays, no silverware, didn’t clean tables. Not fitting of any Ramada we’ve ever been to. Staff was lazy. Would not return.
For it to be the Ramada, the rooms were no good, but there was a casino there and a movie theater and restaurant so I guess that made up for the room
The staff were very warm and welcoming, however the rooms are very outdated. The room walls were badly damaged. The armoire is extremely old. Linnen was old and the beds were ok. A decent place for a night or two but I would recommend elsewhere.
Was ok great views from the 5th floor, wonderful service. Honest opinion if you have a breathing condition might not be the best for you, was a mold smell thru out the place.
Lack of maintenance and don’t supply basics . Tv didn’t work nor drains in sink or tub. Dining room Food always came out cold. We went to a different area on the water taxi and decided to stay the night..came back and were locked out of our rooms. After finding that out tried to check out early and were refused on getting the last day off the bill. Were charged an extra $100 upon check in even with having paid the deposit. Absolutely do not recommend. Not worthy of the Ramada name!
One of the worst hotels I've been
The breakfast is terrible. We asked for yoghurt on the first day, and they said it would be the following day. We stayed for days, and we did not have yougurt. It had only watermelon and bananas in a country that has papaya, and pineapples. Artificial juices, no cake or cookies.
This hotel did not keep up with the Ramada Inn reputation. The room was good with a nice ocean view. The dining experience was a zero. Limited, cold food and the wait was long. Charge for everything but “sorry, we’re out of that.” No one at counter, always having to search and wait for someone even to pay. Casino was horrible and returned money in Beliezian dollars.
The property is dated and the bathroom is not well lit, shower curtain very dirty, it actually stinks. The tile surrounding the bath tub is molded and dirty.
Im giving 5 stars because there was a smart TV in the room, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The view of the ocean from the room was nice, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating, the casino is big with many machines and table games, the free breakfast buffet was good but could have more variety, taxis come every few minutes out front for easy transportation, the room had working air conditioning and hot water, and the price for the rooms are reasonable. Yes the rooms are a little outdated, the tub/shower filled with water and took an hour to go down, if you hear a loud buzzing its probably the phone so just unplug it, there are not many dining options around except the hotel or the pizza place next door (which is great), if you want to walk to the water taxi its about 20 minutes, theres no beach or any swimming in the ocean but there is a nice big pool. Dont let the bad reviews ruin a good lodging option. I would stay here again.
We booked this hotel to acclimate ourselves to Belize to what was supposed to be a month long vaction going in all the districts and some cayes. The hotel was great for the price in general. The kids really liked the pool as almost no one was using it during our traveling period (mid-january). The breakfast was ok. Some negative review poipoints how the service is bad. For us, it took a while. Adressing towel change to the frontdesk could take forever. Often, we dealt with the maids directly to speed up things. It's true that some part of the hotel looks older, but in general it was well maintained.
I liked the location. The ocean views. Wi fi troubles one night. Bit of a sewage smell at entrance sometimes. Not a big deal. Friendly staff. The same breakfast every day was boring. But overall, good place.
The hotel itself was fine for what we needed. Flighing in and out of belize. There were restaurants within walking distance, ocean view rooms, movie theater, casnio, and restaurants located on the property, as well as an awesome pool.
This is not a good place to stay… Book elsewhere!
My hotel stay at Ramada Belize City Princess Hotel was incredibly dissatisfying. I was so appalled at the way WE were treated (6pm check in and our room wasn’t ready) and the way the owner treated employees. While we waited for our room, we went to the bar to get a drink. We had to wait a long time for a bartender to show up and when the bartender did finally show up (because the bartender was doing two other jobs), we were told that there were no products to make certain drinks like margaritas (seriously?). The drink we got was terrible because the bartender spent nearly an hour COUNTING, MEASURING and LOGGING the contents of every single bottle in the bar area. This is ridiculous!!! I have never seen this practice before and I refuse to support an establishment that makes their employees do this… and for what? Maximize your profits on drinks? This is awful and I would never, ever stay at this place again. The room was less than what you would find at a motel in the middle of nowhere. Our experience was terrible! My personal opinion is STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
Perfect for a 1 night stay ! Great location near water taxi and good complementary breakfast. Taxi stand for easy airport transfer.
We loved playing blackjack in the casino and most of the staff was excellent, the only exception was our dining experience was simply bad
Not bad for the price. WIFI kept quitting on us. I enjoyed my stay the staff was friendly. I had a nice view of the sea and the room was very nice. I thought it was a good deal. The breakfast buffet was okay, could be better stocked and have more hot items.
Great hotel by the ocean!
We’re from Australia and travelling on bicycles . We enjoyed our stay here and disagree with some of the negative reviews. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was huge and comfortable and clean. The pool was amazing! A few more sun lounges would be perfect though. Great location by the ocean and restaurants.
Cheap but not the best
Parked in the car park and was told off by the valet because hotel guest are expected to park around the back, not near the entrance which is reserved for the casino guests. Rooms were terribly run down, some electrical sockets and light switches didn't work and some were hanging off the wall, bathroom was dirty, tiny and shower barely worked. Bedroom area was large and reasonably clean, the balcony to my room was half flooded from pipes running across it. Hardly any choice for breakfast, had better in cheap motels in the USA.
Miss Bertha at the front desk is great as well as wait staff in restaurant
I had a good experience, the staff was friendly and loved the tours available at the lobby. The only thing was missing towels in my room but the problem was fixed right away.
This property is ver OLD and needs updating
I come here a lot. I love the hotel and the view of the ocean. But they charged me 100 Belize to wash my clothes.
If you like rust, mold and mildew, this is the hotel for you. Outdated facility. Rooms have moldy/mildewy smell. Had to change rooms upon check-in. Bathtub filled with rust and mildew around bath lining. Restaurant had average food. Bar understaffed. The back of the facility was littered with garbage, the dock in the back was falling apart, afraid ti walk on dog (might fall through), Costumer service was good though. Everyone was helpful and friendly, but unfortunately because of the rundown facilities, I would not stay here again. For the Ramada brand I am really disappointed. The location is good you can walk to restaurants, landmarks, etc. but still not worth staying here.
HORRIBLE HOTEL AND UNCLEAN
It was so crowded at the check in and only one staff. The wait was long! I checked in at 630PM and they didn’t even have my room ready, so they said they upgraded me. When we got to the room it was HORRIBLE. If this is an upgrade I don’t want to know the other rooms. The shower basically sprayed everywhere no matter how you positioned it. I had to ask for more towels but they were so understaffed that they took forever to bring them with the floor flooding! The toilet barely had any pressure and the room was just soo grimey and old! And the room has bed bugs!! DONT GO HERE. I got so many bites the next morning!
Concierge very nice
This property looks nothing like what they are advertising on Expedia! Everything is old and falling apart. The property is dirty and maybe three broken chairs at pool. The roof outside of my room is covered in trash. Room furniture is junk, refrigerator broken and A/C unit sounded like a chain saw. Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Generally very nice, not a good Restaurant, The Gym is a mess, equipment is old and for the most part not functional
Quickie
Only spent one night. Had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Dinner was awesome, must try the stewed chicken! Great staff. If driving here, go to the right as you pull in and park around back.
Everyone at the front desk check-in area is usually very kind and helpful; it is always my go-to place when I’m visiting Belize.
I’d rather camp!
This hotel is in dire need of renovation. The rooms are terribly outdated, rundown and gross. The mattress did not fit on the bed frame, the sheets were tissue paper thin and the comforter had burn holes all over it. If you closed the curtains it covered the AC so that you could not feel cool air coming from it. We had to sleep with the curtains open. The lampshade, walls and floor had stains all over them. The showerhead was from the 1970s and barely dribbled out water and the shower curtain looked even older. The place is gross. Stay elsewhere.
Fabulous staff
The hotel was great with a fabulous staff who went above and beyond. The hotel itself seems to be in need of a facelift. I felt like they were limping along. But this seems to be the feeling across Belize. It was high season and no one is there.
I would stay here again, depending on the price.
The reception employees were terrific. The pool was nice, although the hot tub was not working. The sunrise view Overlooking the water was the best part of the room . It was a quiet hotel. Breakfast included was very helpful.
I like its location. Staff were very, very pleasant. Didn’t have an iron nor a microwave in my room. Didn’t like that. I love the water view and the early morning breakfast. The dining area was very clean.
Great value for the price. Room was nice and airy with enough room to dance around
It’s all good till today Positive the coffee was not brewed this morning YESTERDAY!The property needs work some is been done I am glad I picked the location was walkable to everything The management should buy some new frying pan Non Stick so you get your eggs whole instead of all mashed up for easy over etc -I don’t think the cooks have had cooking classes very friendly and nice my five nights were very good next time will request my room be tidy up early not at 5-6pm It’s a lovely 3 star it’s worth it!!!
The staff was very professional and friendly, the lobby, restaurant and room was clean. The hotel and area around was safe to walk, there are other amenities on site also transportation was available on the property and access to the city EBus.
It’s a busy street, but it was a BEAUTIFUL hotel. 4th floor, ocean view, and it was AMAZING! Extremely satisfied with our experience.
In need of some Love
This hotel was probably one time nice. Although the location is good, it has not been maintained. The pool is huge and fantastic and has only four loungers. No one was at the pool bar when we were there. The gym is pitiful…Machines are rusted and pads are cracked and falling apart. Cables are broken, One of two treadmills works. Our room was clean and spacious enough, and the king size bed was comfortable. The exterior of the building facing the water is crumbling, needs paint and has broken windows and broken air conditioner grates falling out of the wall. There is a casino for entertainment and movies are shown at a very reasonable price. Parking is free.
We were in a wonderful room. The Belizians were excellent.
It appears the owners are not keeping up the place like they should. Staff is doing the best they can.
The hotels was ok. We didn’t use the pool but it looked ok. The lobby bartender was friendly but really new and inexperienced. Very slow service. The breakfast was ok. The beds were extremely comfortable.
This hotel suited our needs perfectly, convenient, cheap 67 US for the night, clean and quiet. Not touristy, no beach or pretty areas but perfect for overnights.
The hotel is dirty and in desperate need of repair. There is nobody to greet guests at the reception desk. After a long wait, someone comes out without a name tag or a uniform. The room. The bathroom has only 2 bath towels. The light is so dim I couldn't apply my makeup there. The room has only 2 bedside lamps and no overhead light which makes the room dark when there is no sun streaming through the window, like a rainy day. The sheets on the bed had coffee stains and blood stains. The restaurant: the menu is an is plastified. All the items are junk food or had meat and dairy. No vegetable dishes and NO vegan options. There was NO food for me as a vegan. I had to tell them what I wanted and they brought me 1/2 cup greasy refried beans that made me sick. A few strips of raw onion and 3 strips of green bell pepper. That was my dinner. Breakfast is no better. The coffee was decent but no plant-based milk. Just regular milk. The staff looked sad, bored, and didn't want to be there. Nobody was smiling or friendly. The guy who was supposed to help with tourist tours and activities, set a table that looked temporary. He was in a corner and had 1 chair. No chair for the customer. The lobby had uncomfortable small couches, nothing to look at and not place for guests to sit or hang out. This was so awful. I checked out after 1 night. There is nothing good about this hotel.
This hotel worked for a cheap overnight stay while waiting to go over to Caye Caulker. We would definitely not stay here again though. The front desk staff were not personable. The included breakfast was not good at all and you have to take a cab anywhere else to get breakfast or coffee. The room was as “clean” kind of. The mattress was stained and really bouncy. They only gave us 2 towels for 3 guests and no hand towels. The entire place needed updating. When we were walking to find coffee we saw rats in the pool area. I’m not mad I spend $100 on a quick room, but would not recommend it and next time I’ll just spend the extra $150 to have a decent stay.
.
Needs to have been renovated 30-40 years ago. Falling apart. Giant arcade room advertised is shutdown and smells absolutely wretched throughout the lobby. No poolside bar. The pool is very large but also in need of renovations. The room advertised 2 queen beds, we got 2 double beds. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Reedemingly, the pillows were comfortable as well as the comforter. If this place was not named RAMADA no one would trust to stay here. We stayed on our last night in Belize because of the proximity to the airport and we couldn't wait to leave. I can't imagine why anyone gives this place a 10/10.
We stayed 2 nights. The hotel rooms need remodeling and better cleaning and preparation for guests. It feels like a cheap hotel in Las Vegas. Very noisy as well. We stayed in a room with a view of the water which was nice. There are nice places to walk and close by places for food. I would have rated it a 1 but the staff are great and work hard. The lobby area is clean and nice eating area.
Great value!
Great location close to all amenities ! Some renovations have been done however the elevator has an unbearable smell of water damage!
Thought we would have a good stay here in BC,maybe not. No hot water in shower, phone in room not working, hair dryer hard wired into wall not working. The positive things, they fixed the hot water in morning, mattress was comfortable.
For a one night stay the hotel was just right.
Believe the property is understaff
Though this hotel was the best on my one-week stay throughout Belize, I did expect much more of the Ramada Inn. Yes, the room was clean, the hotel was satisfactory, etc., but the downstairs bathrooms were in bad conditions (broken sinks, etc.), the fence around the pool was broken, the tables in the lobby were not the cleanest, etc. I expected much more, but again in my stay of about 6 different hotels with my group, this was the best.
Fabulous
Was good overall

We chose this property because of the proximity close to the water taxi, airport, and ocean; also because of the Ramada name. It is walking distance to a few restaurants (if they are open) but don't waste your time with the hotel restaurant as it seemed half the menu wasn't available. There's a pizza restaurant next door that we didn't go to but seemed to be pretty popular and we did two dinners at Midpoint which is a little farther walk to the left as you exact the property. Get the ceviche and you won't be disappointed. Despite the picture, the pool doesn't have chairs or lounges available. The staff is nice but it appears generally they have given up on the property. The A/C in the room is loud but it actually helps with the weekend club music across the street and the many birds that love squawking at sunrise. The king bed was fine but the pillows are actually quite amazing. We stayed at a more expensive place in San Pedro and as compared the pillows there were bunk. Kudo's to the pillows.
