Excellent! Friendly and helpful staff

The Radisson Blu shows itself as a 5 star hotel but at a closer look staff are not well trained and give conflicting information, and rooms are cheaply made without the attention to detail of luxurious stay. We stayed at the Radisson blu for 2 nights in Kigali. The welcome service (hot towels, drink) was very nice and the lobby was beautiful. However the great service and 5 star experience appeared to stop there. We had an incident in our room that warranted requesting compensation in some form. This turned into an entire negotiation/ordeal with management and we left feeling like this stay was a subpar experience as they wouldn’t budge on making the situation up to us. We asked management and the front desk to deep clean our room multiple times as a result of the incident and they assured us that no corner would be untouched and they would make sure all the food was removed from the room and the floor would be thoroughly vacuumed. However when we came back to the room a few hours later, it hadn’t been cleaned at all and there were still things like the welcome drink left out, which was extremely frustrating given our initial complaint. Most of the staff were nice and accommodating but didn’t appear to be well trained. We were told multiple times that breakfast was included in our stay but it turns out it wasn’t, which we didn’t find out till after we already ate. Overall the service of the hotel feels more in line with 3.5 star hotel so just adjust expectations.

The catering was very variable. Sometimes good sometimes not so good. I think I developed food poisoning from a hamburger I had. I had two Caesar salads - one had not croutons one had no egg.

Significant allergy reaction to the room; especially the bed. I was charged twice for my stay at the hotel via Expedia and directly.

Radisson Blu was perfect for our stay in Rwanda!! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. Our entire stay we marvelled at how often we were offered help and service. The dining options were fantastic, the breakfast buffet had everything you could want as some new things to try. Linda in guest relations goes out of her way to help make your stay extra special. The Kigali Heights Mall across the street was great. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel but overpriced

The property was great but the staff. Emanuel and Bruce at the breakfast bar and Abas at the frontdesk were very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely recommend and be back!!

Overall very good. Staff seemed a little awkward interacting with guests. The place seemed a little sterile at times eg. in the reception area.

The hotel itself is quite nice. Some of the room amenities were outdated and there was a water leak in the bathroom but overall not a deal breaker. Breakfast was very nice and the staff was great. Having said that, my credit card information was stolen from swiping at the hotel terminal and nowhere else. I expected better from Radisson.

This is probably the best hotel in Kigali. The hotel is spotlessly clean, modern and very comfortable. The staff go above and beyond to help you, particularly in the restaurant. This is my go-to place in Kigali!

Great place to stay Kigali

This is an excellent hotel, the staff are extremely friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and well appointed.

I'll start with what I didn't like. The bloodstain on the duvet cover was first then second was the knocking sound that went on most of the night that kept me awake. Third was all the locked doors. I tried to go visit my friend who was on another floor and couldn't access her floor because of the prison-like security. What did I like? The breakfast I guess.

Great location and we got to visit conference centre during the Eco conference- great trade show. Meals terrific and rooms wonderful and great staff.

Poor quality for money compared to the Marriott and other nice hotels in Kigali. At the Radisson's price, I would expect everything to be impeccable. The hotel grounds are impressive but very confusing to find the entrance and lots of walking to get to your room with multiple keypad-locked doors in the corridors. Excellent breakfast. The room itself was not well maintained. There were exposed wires under the sink (not safe for our 1 year old), broken curtain rod (probably due to the poor design of the balcony door not being a sliding door but opening inward and catching the curtain). The "superior" room which is what they call the standard room comes with a nice bed and decent amenities. One complaint (especially when staying with a small child) is that there was loud music coming from the pool area. Our friends on the other side didn't hear the music, but then the second night the music was coming from their side (convention center) so there was no way to find a truly quiet room. Also, it was impossible to block all the light as the room design is meant to bounce light across the ceiling. You can't turn on the light to the bathroom without illuminating the whole room for this reason. And there was no bath tub for baby, only a shower.

The food selection is very poor. Not enough choices. The service is horrible specially when it came to food service. The bathroom had no exhaust working and it was stinking all the time .

Excellent hotel, even the basic rooms are spacious with good showers, the gym was excellent and the nearby Italian restaurant also good. Safe and excellent value for money. Would stay again.
