Good place overall
Front desk was friendly at check in, bed linens were clean and comfy. First room didnt have a working dead lock so they moved me to another, which I was thankful for because the back of the building where the first room was felt veey sketchy. Bathtub was stained (dirty?? Given there was hair in it) so i didnt shower even though the purpose of my one night stay was due to the power being out in my home because of the storms. There was also a small hole at the bottom of the room door due to decay. I didnt see it until the next morning when the sunlight came through. If i had not been exhausted and needing to get a toddler to sleep, I would have went elsewhere.
Staff Great but this is a Motel
This is a motel--doors to rooms open to the parking area. I really prefer to stay away from this kind of property and would have booked elsewhere if I'd realized this. That said, the room itself was really nice. The king bed was very comfortable. And the room and bathroom were clean. The staff was very nice and handled a difficult check in ahead of me very professionally.
The smell and the cleanliness could have been better
It was described exactly as it was!
A/C didn’t really work. Room felt wet and cold. Mold on ceiling.
The hotel is older and need updated.
Clean except wall next to waste basket in bathroom. Staff friendly. Great continental breakfast. Easy access and close to where we were going. Handicap shower curtain let water onto bathroom tile floor which was very slippery. Staff seemed responsive to comments.
Loveable desk clerk!! Really made a difference!!!
The staff was wonderful. The front desk clerk was cheerful and personable and truly cared about how our stay was and if we were comfortable. Our experience up til that day was starting to make a very l bad experience into the worst. We were in town because our daughter had been transfered to the hospital here and needed brain surgery and a lot of intensive therapy before we would be able to return home. It was scary and very stressful and he was so attentive and kind. He helped make a very unpleasant situation a much more bearable one. And for that I will be eternally grateful. I'm not sure if I ever caught his name but if I did I can not remember which is too bad because I'd love to reach out and tell him thank you. He really really made a difference in how we were able to cope with what she was going through.
This property had good parking at the door of our room. The staff was very nice and considerate. The bathroom did not make much sense. It had to showers, but the carpet was freshly cleaned linens were cleaned. Room was very nice spacious. Ac was very cold nice on a hot day. Husband said the breakfast did not look very good. There was little fruit flies around some of the food.
The only thing I have positive to say is that the ac was fantastic! Poor lighting inside unit, carpet was filthy, one shower was gross, the other flooded the entire bathroom into the next room. Put a do not disturb on door. Housekeeping still came in, and didn’t even change sheets where I had spilled soda. Breakfast was pitiful as well. Will look for something else if I need to go to Roanoke again.
Bed kind of hard. Place is really clean. Bathroom showers looked old, but not dirty. Light around sink not bright enough to see. Check in was easy and staff really nice.
I had absolutely no issues with the property until housekeeping came around in the mornings. They would knock and you would say, “I’m in here or “we’re checking out shortly,” but she would still use her key to get in. Wasn’t sure if she would catch you in a compromising position or not or you would be changing clothes or not, she would still use her key to get in. Other than that interruption, I had no issues.
Road getting to the property was not well marked with signage.
Basic hotel, beds were good, pillows could use a pillow protector. No place to walk.
Other than a broken desk chair, it was a good stay. Impressed with front desk staff welcoming and cleanliness of the room.
Graduation
Staff and office where great with checking us in a bit early! Back of hotel is quieter!
It was a very nice place
property was run down
Decent area...clean...quiet..
Enjoyed my stay. Room was clean and spacious. Couch was a little worn down but over all I would stay there agian.
.
The front desk person was in a altercation with a customer with the police on the phone.the front desk person was racist with the male customer and tried to pull my sister and I in to the disagreements we then left .and went to another holel I tried to call and cancel and the front desk person was very rude to me
The room was pretty gross from a cleanliness standpoint. Old shampoo bottles in shower, trash had not been taken out, bathroom had noticeable grime everywhere on the floors. The worst though was the super odd man who worked the front desk. I would not stay here ever again.
Have stayed here so many times as Roanoke is my hometown and I’ve moved a few hours away. There’s always been a kind of “you get what you pay for” situation with this hotel but it was awful this time. The sheets and bedding had stains, the bedside table was missing a light and there were hardly any towels. Not to mention I was lied to and charged $100 when I prepaid for the room through here with PayPal. Planning my next trip home for Christmas and do not plan on staying here.
The room needs to be updated. The bathroom vanity light was as bright as a night light. The fitness center was missing a lot of weights . The breakfast was subpar
The rooms were clean and the eating area was kept very clean.
Service poor
The lighting in the room was very poor, like being in a movie theater
I enjoyed staying there. It was overall very good. There were some draw backs but I can't complain. The hotel was overall good. I think some minor updates would be good. But for the price and location made up for that. I was pleasantly surprised by breakfast in a good way. I will stay here again.
Building run down looking. Things in room that didn’t work. Traffic noise all night.
I liked that it had laundry facilities for to take care of some dirty laundry that needed done
Bed has blood spots on blankets and mattress pad
More than half of the parking was blocked off, so there was no parking places. There was no hot water in the shower. In the bathtub the water faucet had to be nearly turned off to get hot water. The front desk did not know the room numbers or layout of the hotel. The grass looked like it was mowed last year. The front desk cleric looked extremely bothered to have to answer the phone and check people in. If this was the last hotel in Roanoke, it would be better to sleep in your vehicle. Choice Hotels needs to require many changes or change the name of this hotel to Zero Quality Inn.
It was terrible and so is youd app. Should not even have to pay for such a poor property.
It is located near a mall. The bed linen was dirty, the microwave & fridge dirty & smelly. The room was not clean and as such I had to request a refund. The refund provided did not match the amount I paid.
Older motel that has been updated little.
Very friendly and welcoming
Excellent customer service and nice area plenty of food options and shopping malls. Will be returning to this Hotel again for sure!
This was my third and last time I stay there, The non smoking room stunk like an ashtray, the floor was not vacuumed the bathroom was just plan dirty. There where cigarette hole's burned into the comforter and when I replaced it they gave me ones with blood stain's. Bad real Bad
Room very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed complimentary breakfast. Access to stores and restaurants. Only issue was Wi-Fi. At times it would become very sliw
Room seemed damp
Ok place
This is the first time in 40 years of traveling that my wife and I encountered a rental that prompted us to write an unfavorable review on a property. We arrived at the hotel tired from a full day of driving. We were first assigned a non smoking room that “reeked” of tobacco smoke. The clerk at the front desk was very cooperative and reassigned us to another room. Upon entering the room we noted that there was no tobacco odor so we quickly started unpacking without doing any further visual inspection as we were exhausted from the day of travel and just wanted to retire. Bad mistake! A cursory inspection found dirt and deficiencies that prompted a more thorough inspection. There was dirt and dust everywhere. - bathtub was filthy to a point where neither of us could get a shower. -the bottom half of shower curtain was brown with dirt stains. -the toilet wasn’t attached securely to the floor and rocked back and forth. - the ceiling over the tub had a large hole in it which the manager indicated was due to an earlier leak! - the trim on doorways was filthy from people with greasy/muddy hands -carpet had not been cleaned or vacuumed - the air intake and grill on the air conditioner was “fuzzy” with dirt and dust. You may question as to why spend the night in such a condition. The answer to this lies in the fact that we were seniors who were too exhausted to seek better conditions elsewhere. Hence, we experienced our first night ever, sleeping in street clothes on top of t
Nicely renovated but needs more detailed cleaning.
The staff were very nice and helpful. The outside of the hotel is a bit dingy but the inside has been recently redone. The bathroom was not very clean though and someone else's socks were in the corner of the room.
I took pictures as soon as I entered the room. The lamp shade was broken, there was white crud on the red couch cushion, a pillow case was stained so it was placed behind another pillow and turned around to hide the stain, there were BOOGERS on the flat sheet, the gold coverlet was extremely wrinkled like it wasnt washed and a wash cloth was stained. I had to hurry to a graduation so I didnt have time to complain to the front desk but I have pictures. I also DID NOT recieve or was offered an invoice of any kind when I checked out. I was also not told where I could get my "free" breakfast when I checked out so I assumed the clerk didnt want to offer it. Overall, this Quality Inn was VERY disappointing and disgusting. It needs to be cleaned and taken better care of.
The gentleman at the front desk and tried to make things better.
Dirty
Very dirty bed and floor
Good location for my visit
Staff at desk "rushed" us from breakfast before the closing time. Breakfast ends at 10am, not 9:35am. Told us to take our food back to the room.
Easy check in
Decent hotel
Not a bad hotel. Good location. It's a bit dated but it was definitely comfortable enough for our stay. There was a dead fly in the ice bucket, but other than that everything seemed decent
1night stay
Way too much noise. We had to call the office twice due to people outside yelling and partying at 2 am. I would like to thank the staff for taking care of it when we called.
It was in a good location for where I was headed. Very Simple but adequate room. Shower was not as clean as I hoped. Breakfast was very good!
First room given room key wouldn't work. They changed me to a queen when i reserved a king room. Got in my new room and it was so dirty. Literal dirt on the bed, floor, food in corner of room, stains on chair and bedding. Mold in shower. Musty smell
Clean and efficient motel with friendly, accommodating staff. Would stay there again.
The room smelled really bad- like mold and dirty gym clothes- and the bathroom had not been cleaned well. Hair was in the bathtub and around the sink. We left and found another hotel.
Deb
I had a hard time finding the motel. My GPS directed me, but it was hard to see the sign from the highway. Also, the light in the bathroom went out on me while showering.
Horrible experience.
It was absolutely disgusting! There was actual poop left on the sides of the toilet. The shower had dirt and hair in it. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told he was on vacation. They refused to refund us any money because we checked in very late and didn’t notice it until the morning.
Nice place to stay. Close by to everything
Four homies slowly drove passed by and watched me as I was unloading car. Glad I was armed at the time. It was about 9:30 PM and I was already questioning my choice, almost loaded car back up and left. Just too tired to leave.
Accessing the property from the main road and climbing the stairs to the second floor was difficult, However, the breakfast was very excellent!
Nice place to stay
Worst Stay Ever!!!
Do yourself a favor. No matter how much money you may think you're saving yourself with this hotel, DON'T STAY HERE!!! During our one night stay, there were stains on all of the furniture, we had to wipe down the bathroom countertop ourselves, the floors were sticky, there were what we presumed to be cigarette burn marks on the sheets, and the shower curtain had mold on it. This property is old and in desperate need of remodel/repair. We also did not feel very safe at this hotel for various reasons. To top this all off, we were joined by a very unwelcomed visitor in the shower the morning we left - see attached photo of some sort of bug that was on the shower curtain. This place is run down, filthy, disgusting and unsafe to stay at.
Convenient location to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Good rate. The TV remote had something sticky and crusty around the power button that I had to clean off. The light beside the bed had a cobweb on it and some food on it also. While the bathroom had been recently remodeled and looked really nice someone had either spilled something next to the urinal or it was urine that hadn't been cleaned up. The shower didn't drain properly and I stood in 2 inches of water while showering. I will look for other accommodations in the area next time.
No better than motel 6
It was very hard to find the hotel in the dark. The hotel was so old and tired looking. It is no better than motel 6. Room was old and not too clean. Breakfast was good though.
will not stay here again
A value for a nice comfortable room.
Just a quick overnight on a road trip so we weren't looking for much more than a beef to sleep in, but the room door wouldn't open easily (from the inside or outside - required multiple scans and a shoulder check) and the room definitely had some water issue (wet carpet by the bed, water damage on the base and top of wall, strong odor after the cleaning products cleared). The staff I interacted with were kind (didn't share the issue bc we came in, are and tried to sleep). Very easy access to the highway. Parking was easy.
I was impressed with the cleaning crews attention to detail and the way every employee helped in every way they could. We took our cat with us and they were more then happy to have our fur baby with them. I will stay here again.
No way to staying there!!!
Smell and dirt was so bad!!!!!!!
Not great. Check in was easy, when we got to our room, we found a used towel behind the bathroom door. Bathroom was dirty, doors were dirty with hand prints all over. Found a used hand towel, not sure what was on it, in the bed stand drawer, and killed a couple roaches.
Property is not well maintained. Old, smelly, not pleasant at all.
Overall good
Everything was fine except for when I checked in. I walked up to the front desk and I thought he heard me since the automatic door dings whenever it opens and closes. He just continued to text on his phone. This went on for several minutes as I continued to wait, my husband was walking around behind me but the guy never acknowledged me for several minutes while he got his important texting done.
Disgusting & Filthy
The room was filthy. Someone had cut their toe nails and left them on the sofa. The room was damp, mildewed, and moldy. The moisture in the room was so significant, the metal structure in the lamp shade was rusting through the fabric. I found body hair in the bed and bathroom. There was dried urine on the hinges of the toilet seat. This room was DISGUSTING and the facility should be reported to the health department. I left the key on the dresser and just walked away. Note: When I made the reservation on HOTELS.COM (my first and last time using this website) the purchase was deemed “NON-REFUNDABLE” leaving no me no recourse with regards to money, but hopefully I can save others from making the same mistake.
There were NO lightbulbs in the floor and table lamps. So it was difficult to read.
Dirty and hot. Ac was rough
Jimmy helped a lot!
convenient. food righ tnet door
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay here, The staff was very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in our comfort. Everything was clean and bright. There is a wonderful restaurant an easy, next-door walk. The free breakfast was very good with many choices.
It was as expected as far as check in and room condition. The hotel sits directly in front of a highway which is o.k. didn't keep us from sleeping.
Nice, clean. Close to the Center of town where the Iron Man took place
Thank you
Too noisy from the interstate
Location was convenient. Room was dirty and smelled like BO. There were other customers in the other rooms that smoked and it would come in to my room. My room smelled like smoke and BO. There were stains on the back of the door to the shower and on the ceiling in the bedroom. It was a handicap room so not sure. I bought some febreeze to use in the room and used about half a bottle in the 2 days I was there. It was not good. Breakfast eggs had so much salt in them that even when the other customers that were eating at the same time took a bite they said OMG! Next day breakfast was only a sausage croisant that you had to heat up in the micro wave like the ones you can buy in the grocery store and heat up at home - cheap! Location was good and the help was friendly. Room sucked and Smelled bad.
Dated. Stale smell in the rooms. Clean, safe area.
Didn't like the dirty showers and the holes in the carpet.
We come in to see our new grandson. We have a medium sized dog. Room was clean. Friendly staff. We will continue to stay there when in Roanoke. We appreciate the efforts of the cleaning staff.
Quick and easy check in, clean the room and decent breakfast
Wrong place
I was totally shocked it nothing like the ones we stayed in up north. They didnt even have the room cleaned when we arrived it was late afternoon or early evening. After he said the room was ready .it was still dusty and messy No elevator for handicapped people who has rooms on the second floor. They should have that on there site.we wont stay there again
The property was pretty nice with continental breakfast and many food options nearby. Very convenient location in Roanoke. However we were placed in a room behind a set of stairs obscuring the view from our window despite there being very obviously many empty rooms. Would’ve been nice to be able to look out and see the mountains or sunrise a little. House keeping also tried to come clean our room at 9am while we were still sleeping even though checkout wasn’t until 11am. Woke us up and then proceeded to try to walk in the room even after we yelled that we were good. I would’ve thought they might know when there’s a guest staying in a room for only one night didn’t need housekeeping until after checkout time but maybe not…
The lady who checked us in was great. Also easy access
nice hotel for good rate
this is a nice place to stay. The staff were excellent if we needed something it was taken care of right away. will stay here again
needed a little updating. pet friendly but no location to take pet for their business
Rooms were dirty
Room was clean and quiet. Front desk gentleman was a bit hard to understand. Did not like the bagged breakfast.
Ac/heating unit dirty smelling like cigarette smoke.had to clean filters with air disinfectant. Shower drained very slowly.
If you want you room left open an untenable for hours and hours form the house keeping and having them go thru you medication 💊. Then this is the place for you. Oh and dont forget the homeless person that sleeps on the front walkway. The management is completely and utterly no help at all. Just offering excuses. We travel to Roanoke Va alot and this will be the last time staying here. Keep looking it not for you.
The ground floor room was in the back, as requested because I didn't want to face the road with the noise. However it was damp and smelled of mildew at the headboard or it may have been the pillows. Oddly there were two showers. The AC worked well but didn't dry the air.
There was a clump of hair behind the toilet and hair in the shower
