The place was not a luxury stay but it seemed clean and the fellow on duty was very nice and welcoming so I felt safe being there as I was traveling alone. And really thats the most important factor to me.
We called this property three times and was told twice no deposit and once a 50 dollar deposit. I made a non refundable reservation and upon arrival was told a 50 dollar deposit and a 7 day return rate on refund. We left the room very tidy and didnt leave any mess for them however they refuse to give me my deposit back my bank said they released it and then took it hack twice!!! They turn 9ff the phone lines so uou can not reach them. They officially have 3 days to return my deposit 9r my bank says they will issue aj investigation and go after them because it looks fishy the way they did my deposit. I hope they see this this could have been avoided. The lady at the front desk was rude my friend was laughing at something that had occured as we walked in to check in and he was cracking up and she looked at us and said is he ok very rudly like what the heck....lighten up lady....anyways im gonna need you to return my deposit asap or it will result in having to pay possible three times that to my bank for fraud.
It was an okay stay
It was a decent place for a one night stay.
There is a big fly in our room. The bed is dirty. Vegan breakfast
It's a lower priced hotel, so for the price not bad, but you're getting what you're paying for. Old rooms, Old building. Lady at front desk was very respectable and spoke English (Columbia City) but no one else did. Pool at entrance appeared very nice. Was a huge yellow stain on sheets that I did not notice until the next morning.....yuck!
The hotel was convenient and one of the lowest priced options, but the facilities were worn and tired. Pool was cloudy, shower still had hair in it from prior guests, and our door lock didn't work after the first day forcing us to switch rooms.
There’s never anyone at the lobby desk. My room key was deactivated a day before my (prepaid!) checkout, the toilet broke and housekeeping was trying to come into my room before checkout time despite the do not disturb tag on the door! This property continues to disappoint me. Third stay and likely the last…
Gave this hotel a second chance after a bad stay before. Still bad. Refrigerator wasn’t working, no AC or fan on in the room, light by the door wasn’t working and desk chair about dumped me backwards on the floor. Won’t be staying here again!
Attended a wedding, so convenient for overnight stay
For the price of the room the stay was good
Great place to stay
Outside doors didn’t lock/ had tape around the locks to prevent from locking.
Kingsize suite with jetted tub very spacious! Clean with beautiful wooden floor and huge tub in room and bathtub too in bathroom. Easy to find Hotel off major highway.
Very convenient
Walls were paper thin, so when my neighbor decided to use his hot tub at 3:30am, it sounded like it was inside our room and woke us up. Shower had someone else's hair in it. Front desk was unattended.
Good for price
I got a good deal on the hotels.com app and had no issues. I would stay there again. There was a small stain on one of the blankets but it's white,I don't think that's unreasonable. Toilets have a really weak flush. Overall good stay.
I was given a room other than the one I booked and it was disgustingly unclean so my wife and I didn’t stay there, checked out and left
Scared for my safety
Thee worst ever!!! Housekeeping tied to push door open on me to check the water said I was using too much. He literally tried to push the door open on me while my husband was outside in which he knew he was because he was "cleaning" room next to use for 2 hours very creepy very unprofessional and I was scared at that moment with 3 guys that worked there all outside my door and my husband outside
Room for improvement
My colleague and I each had issues with our doors. Mine was ornery and did not want to open without a shove, and she had to call the front desk for help. She also had to switch rooms because her first room smelled of stale cigarette smoke
One night, it is what you would expect from a 2 star hotel.
There was ants in the rooms, the rooms were not cleaned properly, hair in the sink, used spit out toothpaste was left on the faucet, the toilet was not clean, did not get the room i reserved. Overall it was a disappointment!
Very quiet friendly place I'm in a big hurry so no time for dining
Worth it for the money.
It was all good with a few exceptions; the outlet under the desk did not work, nor did the desk lamp. The hot tub made a loud continuous noise the 2nd time I used it. Tv was very small for the size of the room.
It was fine. You get what you pay for.
Good location for one night on our way through the area.
Great stay
The hotel was very clean inside and out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We vacation a couple of times a year and this is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed at. I would recommend Quality Inn
Used towels in the bathroom. Tiolet did not flush. Smoke alarm found on bed, batteries missing . Smoke alsrm not in place on the wall. Staff unavailable at check in.
dissappointed
when we arrived they had not recieved our reservations and we had to wait 30 minutes
One nighter
Fine.place looked newly renovated Nice young man at check in
Thanks it would be nice to have a hot soak in a tub after driving, but the water was only a bit warmer than tepid
Top 3 of my worst hotel stays.
I was not impressed from the get go. I specifically chose this hotel because it had a pool. There website said nothing about it being out of service. The front desk person said it would be several days before it would be usable. Didn't happen during my 4 night stay. The toilet seat was smaller than the toilet itself. The mini fridge was filthy. The dresser and desk were terribly sticky. Each day I had to have my room card reactivated. On a daily basis I could smell cigarette and pot smoke. And to top it off, there was a dog that barked every morning for 15 minutes. I complained to the night manager about the smoke and dog barking. He said he would look into it, but nothing changed. I also said I felt I should get reimbursed for some of my charges as the pool was not usable. He said he would contact Hotels.com and take care of it. I also spoke with a front desk person upon checkout and told her what the night manager said. She said that he could not reimburse me. She basically blew me and my concerns off. Very poor customer service!!! The breakfast room and choices were average. Not terrible, not great.
None of the services were available. WiFi didn't work. Pool was down. Breakfast was poor. Would not stay at this location again. Room smelt of wet dog. Thin walls, we could hear every sound outside the room
They did not change the sheets, I know this I work at a hotel. Also wasn’t will to give extra blankets. After I paid online I was asked to give my debit card which they ran for only a dollar to have for damages for extra blankets if their were any.
Staff was very friendly overall enjoyed are selfs. Thank you
The rooms was clean and nice, staff friendly, easy access location. The price was very reasonable. Had issue with wifi connecting to laptop, was told they were having issues with wifi and were working on it and in the process of upgrading. My major issue was the door to the room didn't latch well and good strong push and it would open. I probably should have said something, but didn't. It was a nice location where I didn't think the chance of someone trying to get in was extremely low. I'm sure they probably would have given me another room, but didn't want to change rooms for only 2 nights
Overall disappointing. Within Columbia City your options are limited and unless you’re right in this area you’d be better off in Fort Wayne or Warsaw. First surprise was the pool was not working (not a big deal) but then got the WiFi is out and will be fixed this evening. Never got fixed. Also most of the people at this hotel seem like they live there full time or were part of the road crew. Ironically work release is next door. Reeked of marijuana and ramen most of the time we were here (1 day) also the constant people putting rocks in the door and my son kicking them out was somewhat amusing. Breakfast was what I expected. Rooms are not awful but the other stuff really drags it down.
The nice young man at the front desk was very nice. However, we reserved a king room and upon arriving, we were told they Didn’t have any king rooms left and he could give us a double bed or a king jetted tub room. We took the king room and discovered upon checking out that we were charged an additional fee for it. There is no pool, even though the listing indicates there is one. No elevator either so we had to carry our bags up the stairs, which would have been fine in our younger years, but no so much now. Hotel is in the process of being remodeled, which it needs. Coffee was horrible and the half and half creamer that was sitting out when we checked in the night before was still sitting out. Not the greatest experience.
The hotel advertiser had a pool but the pool wasn't a construction. It advertised that it had internet and the internet was not working. They did not have any handicap facilities on the property at all. There were no handicap accessible rooms.
Renovations
Hotels.com should be notified when a hotel is doing renovations. I booked this hotel because it had a pool and breakfast was included, the pool was closed, they aren’t serving breakfast, lots of dust from the renovations. Only 2 floor rooms and no elevator.
This location was being remodeled; the entire ground floor was unavailable and no elevator, the pool was out, the breakfast they said they served was unavailable and it took approx 45 min to track down someone working there to even cancel our reservation.
it was closed for renovation
Cancelled on us at the last minute.
The hotel called the afternoon before our stay to tell us our room was canceled due to construction. No room in the Inn.
Satisfied
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Booked a room for my 20 year old as she got back to college 1 day before campus re-opened after spring break. Few motels have a minimum check in age below 21. Motel was dirty and smelled like smoke (both tobacco and marijuana). Staff were unkempt and uninspired. Room smelled like smoke. She had a scary walk to her room. The hallway was filled with truckers who made comments to her. Overall a very bad experience. She said it’s the worst and scariest motel she’s ever stayed in.
The lady at front desk was very very responsive on smeke alarm beeping needing a new battery and showing us how to work tv excellent service she was very nice
The bathroom faucet was dripping. The fire alarm went off around 3:00 am on Christmas morning. However the staff was friendly and the breakfast was free.
Staff and cleanliness was exceptional. Will recommend and stay again. Thank you!
My wife's family lives there. Her father passed away while there. It was not too far from their apartment. Thanks for the hot breakfast, Good stay for the price.
Room floor was not cleaned.
Disappointing stay
Dirty place. Wouldn’t recommend.
Disappointing
We hasd three rooms.....only one room was clean. Bookings were all changed due to overbooking at hotel, resulting in second floor for us, despite calling ahead to confirm first floor, accesible first floor room for one of our party who didnt newd a first floor or accessible room( more appropriate for us than second floor), and double beds in third room when reaervation was for king bed. So called gym had 2 aerobic machines which were broken, and floor was very dirty. Evening staff brought children who were very loud until 1:30 AM one morning.
The staff lacked customer service skills all the way around. The girl at the front desk barely spoke 2 words to us. She huffed & puffed at us when we voiced our displeasure with them ruining our day plans because of their mistakes. We checked in a day early and we’re told over the phone and in person that we wouldn’t need to change rooms. Day 2 we were over 2 hours away and we’re called to come back and switch rooms because of a booking error on their part. On top of that, the rooms were dingy & old smelling. The door to our 2nd room would not shut properly…had to slam it and still make sure it shut right. Would never stay here again.
Good review
Stayed at this Quality Inn a few times now. It’s not a millionaire palace, but generally clean, continental breakfast is good, access to other amenities excellent! Staff if also very quick to rectify any problem that may arise!
Reasonable price but dingy and lots of smells
Very dingy... lots of smells... not all bad... just alot of smells. Carpet was gross. Very old and dirty. Reasonable price but would rather pay a little more and stay somewhere a little cleaner and more updated. I really think mostly the hotel is just due for a massive update. I'm sure it was very nice... 20-30 years ago.
Clean, well kept, and friendly staff!
We added a room upgrade last minute and the staff was more than accomodating. I didn't use the pool but others in my party said it was too cold to enjoy. Very close to downtown and other amenities. I recommend The Square as a place to eat, staff was fantastic and the menu was large enough to satisfy our party of 10.
Room at Qaulity Inn.
Good device nice room.
The keys to the door did not work, twice!
Rooms were dated. Their was trash still in the room. Carpet was dirty and ripped
Could have been better
We had 2 rooms and one smelled so bad of cigarette smoke I said something to the lady after we checked in but didn’t do anything I had to open the window to air it out before the rest of my family arrived. Then the second night the people across the hall was screaming at each other for about 2 hours before we got back according to my daughter then at about 9:30 at night one of the employees had the suv hatch open and was blasting music
It felt safe, staff was friendly, rooms were clean and tidy. I loathed the pillows though. 4 really tiny THICK squares on a king bed. I couldn't use them to sleep as it hurt my neck to lay with.
It was fine. Not super clean but it was super cheap.
The beds said queen beds and they weren’t had ants crawling out of the carpet
Quick - nice night OUT! Enjoyed our stay!
Friendly staff
scam! Scam! Scam! Fraud! Theft!
I was charged for the reservation. Not the room itself. I NEVER CHECKED IN BECAUSE THE HOTELS SHOWED NO BOOKING FOR TBE ROOMS I WAS CHARGED FOR. And you tell me i cant get my money back
5 STARS!!! MINUS 5 FIR POLICE HARRASMENT
The place is awesome. The police harrasment is wayyyyy tooo much. Theyv walk the halls and even harassed me smokung a cigarette at the Columbia city site.
Okay
The hotel isn't bad, but it was very loud. It is very close to some great restaurants.
There was a loud air compressor next to my room that ran intermittently throughout the night. It kept me up. Called the front desk and they were unable to help worst hotel stay.
During my stay I decided to take a bath and there was a ton of hair in the drain. As well as a outlet that was burnt up along with the cord it was attached to. If there would of been a fire we wouldn’t of known because there were no batteries in the fire detector. The staff were very helpful though. They need a better cleaning lead in my opinion though.
Staff was very friendly. Location was great. Building/room was very run down.
wseom
Friendly staff lots of shopping around the area.
This hotel is ok at best. Somewhere to lay your head. Pool was closed due to corona virus. Not really any housekeeping due to corona virus, we just went to the desk and got more towels. The only reason this hotel is better than the super 8 is the pool. So until that opens, you might as well save a few bucks and stay there. Or if you want somewhere really nice stay at the holiday inn next door.
Family Holiday Treat that was disappointing
Had to ask for toilet paper and towels. Stayed two nights and on the second day had no maid service. I know it is difficult with Covid 19 but cleanliness and service was very disappointing. We rented two rooms for the 4th as our family was visiting from out of state. Embarrassing to provide this which was to be a treat for them and their kids.
False information
When booking the hotel the information on the website said free breakfast and pool. I was looking forward to the pool with my son and the free breakfast. Upon checking in the pool was closed and there was no free breakfast due to the Covid 19. The website needs to be updated. It was very disappointing.
Disappointed
Lady living upstairs had two big dogs that barked all the time, she also works there and when she is working her kids would run up and down halls at 6am yelling and screaming. Could not sleep at all.
Relax!
Good place to stay. Check in staff was awesome. Breakfast was terrible, but the room outweighs their food.
worst ever
it sucked as a master degree in hotel resturant management restoration. it was the worst place I have ever stayed . when we check into are room tv didnt work. toilet was broke went to take shower no shower head had to wait a day ontill the brought us one . room was full of fleas. drugs all over the hotel.
Quality Inn Review
When I arrived I was an hour early, the employees very helpful, went the extra mile to assist me! Very happy to see awesome attitudes! Something you don’t see very often!
It was convienent to our travel destination and served breakfast. Lighting in the room was not great.
Friendly and helpful staff could always find parking, Nice and clean, znc z good breakfast.
Was wonderful!
The air conditioning in our room took forever to cool the room. The room was very nice and beds are very comfortable. The eggs and sausage at breakfast were disgusting.
Okay for the price
Needs work. Not bad for the price and the desk clerk was so helpful. Toilet needed a new chain for flushing and was supposed to be fixed by maintenance while we were out for the day. Came back at 10pm. Still not fixed. But the desk clerk came and fixed it himself.
We stayed here for 5 days recently. We picked this hotel because of the pool for my son and because of my friend who also stayed here her kids. When I got there and checked in I was told the pool would be closed for 1 hour. My son wanted to swim really bad. It was closed for 2 days which was disappointing when you have a group of kids wanting to swim! After the pool opened they were all happy! The free breakfast was a plus and the hotel was good enough for the price! We enjoyed our stay besides the pool being closed the first couple of days. My advice to this hotel is to make sure you maintain your pool everyday on a regular basis! Sweep it out once in awhile. Your price and your pool is why people pick your hotel!!!
The hot tub was shown in pitcures and not even there.had been removed.also the pool was not open for the whole week of 4th of july.why wouldn't u call guest and ask if they are still wanting to stay.i drove 2hrs to get there and had no way to entertain my family.very disappionted in this hotel.never wull i book a room with them again.
Needs some basic repairs on plumbing and doors. Otherwise okay.
unhappy
The hotel was very short on help, had to wait to get our room cleaned, the gentlemen checking us in was sweating, and very unprofessional. Pool area discusting. Room was clean, air conditioner worked very well. Breakfast was a joke.
Very nice place to stay for a good deal. Would stay again
The room was in need of some repair. The cable didn't work so no TV. Water pressure was poor. The shower curtain had been pulled from the wall and was barely hanging on.
The guy was ASLEEP!!!
It started off on the wrong foot, I walked in and there was a guy ASLEEP in the lobby, snoring and everything. I didn't think much of it, but when I rang the bell for service, the guy woke up and HE WAS THE EMPLOYEE!! Very unprofessional. Then he was totally rude, hardly said two words until I was checked in and he then told me the POOL WAS CLOSED!!! That would have been nice info up front! Then he just stared at me and awkwardly told me I was checked in after I stood there waiting on some kind of confirmation! I will not stay here again. The rooms were nice and the pool looked nice but since it was closed I can't comment on it. The breakfast was good too. However, the horrible service was so awful I cannot recommend this hotel.
Fast easy check in. Very comfortable bed. Great choices for hot or cold breakfast.
Clean rooms. Staff is great. Need new beds. Good value and good location. Breakfast was not for us. Poor quality eggs and not much for people that don't eat bread products. Richards is just a mile down the road though.
Ok
Hotel was ok. Little tired and in need of renovations
Everything was clean. Service was good and the beds were comfortable.
Where to start? The hotel is probably a year old, but looks very tired. Fixtures and fittings coming away from the wall, unclean common areas, room was dirty. Swimming pool was ok, but also very tired. Air conditioner plug on the wet floor. no towels. We had to complain to the front desk several times about various issues. The response was similar in every case. A shrug of the shoulders, and "ok". The owner and staff need to realize that they are in the hospitality industry. They were all far from hospitable. The breakfast was disgusting. Microwaved rubbery eggs, grease dripping sausage patties, and the yogurt, the bagel, and stale bread. For all the advertising Choice Hotels does, this property does not give a damn about its guests. Never will we go there again.
First night air conditioner in room did not work and man at the desk did not care. Next night had a different clerk and was moved to new room. I guess it just depends on who is working on how good the service is.
Dirty and not updated. Staff was not attentive Room was tacky

Clean and affordable place to stay. Got a hot tub room and it was very clean. Will stay again
