Would not recommend

The first room they gave me smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke it was like walking into a dive bar on a busy night. The blanket was complete with cigarette burn holes. They offered to change me to a different room, which smelled faintly like garbage. In the second room the top blanket had what looked like bleach stains. The bathroom had a few issues, the shower curtain rod was bent which meant the curtain didn't stay closed, the toilet was loose and would completely shift as soon as you sit on it, and there was a section on trim torn off and sitting there. Also don't expect to get anything from the vending machines that are not kept stocked and over priced for what they do have. It was not even remotely worth the $85 I paid for the one night stay

Horrible place to stay

There were roaches in the rooms, blood in one of them, and cigarette burns in the blankets. The one room smelled like cigarettes. The whole hallway smelled like weed.

From bad to worse

The 1st room. The tv didn't work nor did the heat or the toilet. I asked for a new room. The new room was worst. The people next door was noisy all night and after getting comfortable to their noise here comes the police knocking on their door saying they're too loud but come to find out they was knocking on the wrong door. It was a family 3 doors down. The police was evicting them out of the hotel. Now its crying and pleading to stay all in the hallway. Don't know what time in the morning it was but it was definitely after 1 in the morning. I will not patronize this establishment ever again

The hotel was desirable location-wise for my needs. Otherwise, there wasn’t much to like. Facilities were very dirty but the sheets at least seemed clean. It was New Year’s Eve and the police came a couple of times, so I didn’t sleep well. Upon check out there wasn’t even a person at the front desk to take my key or anything. I will NOT be staying here again.

The hotel bed sheets were dirty… The windows locks didn’t work… The pool water was dirty . The top locks were missing on the door. Breakfast was supposed to be served it was picked over and the kitchen was not clean and the food ran out fast .. The aids that cleaned the rooms were older than my grandma 69 plus years ..:l would never never go again

Meh..

Old, needs updated. Our room had clearly not been prepared for us. Floors were dirty, blankets were covered in stains, there were cockroaches, there was a lot of dust all over the tables and appliances, and the room smelled bad. One of our lights didnt even work. A mirror fell off the wall and almost hit my 1 year old son! Breakfast was meh, barely any options and they were not refilling anything unless you bugged them about it. The highchair was FILTHY. Pool and hot tub were just OKAY. Hot tub should have been a LOT hotter. I wouldnt have stayed if we had any other choice but we had prepaid and didnt have any money to go anywhere else.

Check in was easy... but they didnt ask me for my credit card for payment verification as well as incidentals.... Bedding and bathroom towels were dirty, used. Broken shower head carpets not vacuum cleaned... every surface of furniture had food or dirt... iFor $82.41. I spent the Sheets should've been fresh at least!!! Had it been a leisure stay and because I desperately needed to sleep i would have left immediately... all i did was nap for a few hours and with my Do Not Disturb on my door... was woken up at 8 am to housekeeping opening my door 2 TIMES UNANNOUNCED !! A partial refund is not a total loss but I don't think I will see it...

It was ok

Room was relatively clean, staff was nice and friendly. Breakfast was a absolute joke. This hotel unfortunately drew some noisy, ghetto and loud people who stay up late and bump constantly it was a lot of noise. Thankfully I didn't see any bugs.

No meaningful upkeep.

I needed to change rooms because the toilet broke in my original room. It was chaotic and unpleasant. I also noticed a dirty towel in my new room hanging over the shower rod. Terrible experience, will not be booking at Quality Inn any time in the near future.

If you can, avoid it!

I chose this hotel because the hotels in Chicago were way too expensive. I should have spared no expense. The property was dirty, there were roaches, holes in the ceiling, the linen was filthy. Fred at the front desk, however, deserves all the good things. He was extremely pleasant and accommodating.

When I first walked in the hotel it felt dirty I wanted to leave immediately. My room was 208 it had stains all over the sheets, covers, rugs. It was mold by the air conditioner and the air conditioner was very dirty. This morning my son went to use the bathroom in was roaches around the toilet. I don’t even wanna talk about the noise & smell. I will never ever stay at any Quality Inn ever again. I hand photos as well

Disappointed

The room was adequate, but the air conditioning system was not working properly. We were hot during the day and cooler at night only because the sun had gone down. Breakfast was supposed to be from 6:00 to 9:00; yet at 6:15 nothing was out not even coffee.

The lobby and the room were dirty and had a terrible smell. The toilet seat was broken, the window in the room was open to air out the room, there was filth and hair in the bed linens. I asked if there was another room and when the staff member showed me the other option that room smelled like mold and had stains on the bedspread and the floor. I ultimately requested a refund and stayed in a different hotel.

Roaches

Fred the front desk agent came upstairs and killed a roach with his bare hands and said this wasn’t that serious, I thought it was a dead body in here. He told me I would have to leave immediately if I wanted a refund. So I did but when I contacted hotels.com he yelled at them that the room was fine and that I wouldn’t be getting a refund. Luckily I have a video of the entire incident. All of this after they showed us rooms with stained sheets. Multiple rooms.Never again.

Quick Stay.

Worse place

The bedroom sheets were dirty with blood stains in the sheets and pillows. The pool water was very cold and the hot tub water was brown. We told the front desk and they said we will get the money back except the $15 for my mom. When I got there I told her to charge my car. She refunded my car but they charge my mom car and now I can’t get my money back for my almost $80. This is the worse place I ever been I need the money they charge on my mom car.

I decided to stay here bc normally i have good experience with most quality inn locations. The merrillville location was by far out of all the hotels ive been to are by far the rudest inconsiderate. Ive nvr been treated so poorly before the front desk guy had the worst attitude and theres sone housekeeping guy that just stands in the hallways staring silently. . My room was gross. The curtains were shredded the paint was flaky n peeling off.there was no hot wate and theres used condoms in the grass all around the property. Ill nvr ever stay at this location ever again!ill definitely be telling family n friends nor aswell. .

The first room I was put in had a broken phone and a constantly running toilet. The second room did not have shampoo in the dispenser and holes in the wall where a rack once was. There was a poor caulking job on the tub faucet. It seemed to take longer than necessary to check in and I had to do that twice because of the room change. The cereal dispenser didn’t work at breakfast. Not a Quality Inn like the name said.

The nightmare at QUALITY INN.

From the time we checked in our trouble started. You need to know how bad our room was. Your crutains rotten. Bath towels i would use for rag. Hair in the shower freezer door missing. Your custom ser. Manger was swearing so vulger. Throw out my son for just standing by me. Telling him he was not a customer so get Your ass out. I told him it was my son protecting him mother do to the mannner he was treating me. He was wearing disgusting sweat pants and dirty t-shirt. He was unshaven. The hotel smelled like Marijuana on all floors. He said that i walked up to the desk then threw room key. He said i threw my room key at him. When i was still holding the key in my hand. He throw our my daughter in law just for asking him a questions. He treated saying there was a camera watching me. I then told him good then it will show how bad the language you spoke to a 71 year old woman. He then said to me HA, HA !! He had a phone in his hand telling me he was taking with the cops because they are asking for my truck plates number. Then he went behind the wall where i couldn't see him. It was not 45 seconds then he came back around the wall telling me the cops are on there way here. I told him, good then i will stand here to wait for them. He told me that he wouldn't tolerate the way i spoke to him. I just laught then stood there SUPPOLEY waiting for the cops to arrive. I said i was a receipt showing that i only paid for 1 night stay. That made him angery because i refuse to leave.

The moment I arrived there was someone getting arrested and I should have known there I picked the wrong hotel. First room I got in was leaking water from the ceiling onto the toilet. I reached out the front desk and they came to check (I guess to make sure I wasn’t lying) before giving me another room. The other room ended up being for a king VS two queen beds but my family of three could make that work so no big deal there BUT the new room we got put in had a roach. I didn’t even have to put my stuff down before I seen it. I let the front desk know, she asked if I wanted to go back to the previous room. I politely said no “ifs in one room , it’s most likely in all of them.” Mind you the new room was across the hall from the first room. At this point it’s 930pm and when I contacted Expedia they said they could not do anything because the hotel wouldn’t answer So I went back to the hotel and had to stand there to make sure answered ( she just kept staring at me like she didn’t want to while the phone was ringing) And then tells Expedia support she can’t give refund refund she ain’t the manager . We ended up driving 6 hours back home because I was tired and over it at that point. Called the next day and the hotel still denied refund because manager still was not on site and they didn’t know when he would be in. I only got 25 back from a 62 room. I guess I got what I paid for but DO NOT STAY HERE

Almost a terrible Christmas

We asked to see our room before checking in and the look of the hotel both inside and out were terrifying. I honestly couldn’t believe someone would stay here. The room and hallway area smelled very concerning as if someone was smoking and had dirty laundry there. The lights were low as if to cover up the noticeable stains on the carpet. No love and care was taken in the care of this building. After we were shown our room we decided to opt-out but did go about a block away to a more decent hotel. I actually hate giving bad reviews and therefore will just keep quiet but this needed to be said. I also like to add we travelled from Ohio to Illinois during the Christmas Holiday.

I had the opportunity to be served by Fred working at the front desk. Me and my family like how Fred is always smiling, professional, kind, and willing to help at any. We had a great experience and will return because we know Fred will be kind us.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Facility was very tired and outdated Bedspread was stained and nasty looking. Bathrooms were not as clean as they SHOULD BE. Only one roll of toilet tissue supplied

Not so good

I understand that I get this room at a bit of a discount, but not much of one, nonetheless, the rooms are not clean. Blood stains and others on the yellow duvet. Sticky on the table, giant brown stains on the chairs in the rooms. Black mold in the shower grout. The shower curtain, just gross! The ice machine was leaking water and caused the carpet next to the bed was sloppy wet. Got moved to a different room and that one was just as bad but the stains on the covers were just as bad! The breakfast left lots to the imagination of what breakfast should be! On a good note, the beds were really comfortable Honestly, I’m kinda surprised that Quality Inn keeps their name on this hotel!!!

Dead Fridge Kills Insulin Pens

My husband is diabetic so I always make sure to book a room with a refrigerator for his insulin pens. When we got to our room, we discovered the refrigerator was inoperable. The front desk basically told us we were out of luck on a refund/partial refund because of the discount we got by booking through Hotels.com. Buyer beware and now I’ll know for future reference that I have to choose between saving money and having all the promised amenities.

The property was not well maintained. The vending machines didnt work, the pool and hot tub were old and dirty, the room wasnt cleaned well, the mirror was broken and the beds were old an uncomfortable. The experience as a whole was bad

This was the worst hotel I ever stayed at we had bugs in our room our tv didn’t work we had 2 towels in our room for a 2 night stay once I asked for more towels they responded with your checking out today we can’t give you one. There was a strong fish smell from pool bathroom and the whole hotel smelled like weed so I had to tell my three kids what the smell was

This property use to be nice. Now they rent rooms by the week. They had sticks in the bottom floor windows because the didn’t lock. Basically not safe for descent people now. I will never return to any hotel in that area 😡😡😡
