This hotel is not worth the money

Do not book this hotel; We booked 4 nights in a double bed room and got 2 singles, we were not advised by the Manager (whom checked us in) that there was renovations commencing in the room next to ours. We had jack hammers and banging on the adjoining wall from 7am to 5 pm. On the 2nd day, we asked if we can have a room away from the renovations as well as a room with a double bed as per our booking, but we were declined. We would not recommend this hotel as the Manager is rude. We had to book another hotel and surrender the remainder of our booking at this hotel without refund. The room itself was very, very outdated and the sheets on our beds were not fresh upon check in. Breakfast is not in the hotel as such as is very ordinary...you best eat elsewhere.

Fantastic location

Location & room cleanliness were great, however the pool is missing a lot of tiles, water pressure in the rooms is terrible, no cable tv as advertised & only 1 English channel, 2 PowerPoints didn’t work & the other was hanging from the wall but worked. Needs a lot of maintenance work done. Staff were very accommodating Breakfast was fine, nothing fancy. Wotif’s advertised saving I think was very far fetched! There’s no way you’d pay $120ish p/n for this.

Don't book this hotel

Puri Naga Seaside Cottages is a completely avoidable place to stay. The rooms are musty and dirty. The washrooms were not clean. Plus there are plenty of mosquitoes in the rooms. There is a general air of decay to the place. People travelling with senior citizens should avoid this place completely. Any price charged by the hotel is too much to pay - I would advise people to stay away from this horrible hotel.

Please consider staying a another hotel, this is disgustingly dirty broken down and staff less property, No money has been spent on sheets pillows or Towels, in years there stained old Rags, bar fridge was broken Air conditioning failed to work and was never repaired after promising full repair, the breakfast was dog food, the Hygiene was so disgusting through the hotel and restaurant witch served the worst quality breakfast you could have ever thought possible ,the hot water is only Solar so it's not available at times and cold.,) after 2 days into a 8 days stay we left, ))! Stays should remove the property from its data base.,,)

Proverbial great location

Right on the border of Legian and Seminyak, on the beach, this really is a great location. The pros were the great staff, lovely big rooms, comfortable clean beds and linen, and of course the location. The cons were cloudy pool ( my friends would not swim in it) the awful breakfast ( much better nearby) electricity kept going out in friend's room, and dismal wifi. The price of course reflects this, and of course would go up if the facilities were better. If you were looking for a 5 star hotel, this is not it, but comfortable enough.

Back packer standard!!

Clean and with friendly staff but....... Room door didn't lock-could be pushed open from the outside with ease, no in room safe, electric sockets hanging from the walls, bathroom was VERY mouldy and dated back to the 70s, no toiletries etc. Paint spilt in the pool made it unwelcoming. Broken down house in the grounds was the view from our room.

We arrived to a grunt from the hotel manager.

The manager did not believe that I had booked and paid for 2 rooms. He had only prepared 1 room. I had to show him the confirmation email from lastminute but he still was not convinced. The room was stuffy with some mould stains on walls. No water bottles provided. The phone in the room did not work. There were old ponds with stagnant mosquito infested water around. We were travelling with our 3 year and so when reading the hotel description were excited that it had a kids playground. However, when we took our son to play we found the slide covered in animal poo, the swings were broken, there were big red ants climbing all over the grassy area and a ladder standing against a tree. They were doing electrical work next to the pool and there was a crumbling building in the middle of the hotel complex which used to be the restaurant. We stuck around for less than an hour and my husband walked to find another hotel. The manager refused to give us a refund despite the hotel being nothing like the description and not being worth the $290 for 2 nights at all. He wrote a complaint to the owner and a request for a refund but we have not heard anything back! Very disappointing.

Don't, unless you absolutely have no other options

When I checked I was given a room that looked like it was built in the 1970's and hadn't been cleaned that much since then either.... The bathroom in particular was filthy. I requested a move to a room that matched the photos they have posted on Hotels.com, the new room was acceptable but still wasn't anywhere as clean as it could be with a little effort. Breakfast....I had a tour booked with an 8AM collection, I enquired about breakfast and was told it was available between 7.10am & 11am. I went down at 7.15 am and...nothing! i was shown to a table with a disgusting table cloth on it while someone ran around trying to sort breakfast out. After 20 minutes of waiting I was offered two pieces of stale toast and a nasty cup of coffee.

Convenient location

We really enjoyed our stay here, overall the room was a great size, bathroom looked like it had not long been refurbished so it was clean! The staff were super friendly (Thanks Wayan) and helpful. The pool area lacked atmosphere but no big deal, it was still a pool and was clean if you didn't want to be on the beach. The only negative I can really think of is the bath towels are a bit old and worn out but for $47 a night and a 2.5 star rating you can't even really complain over that! Really good value for money and I would definitly stay here again.

Excellent location, traditional vibe

The location of the Puri Naga is it's main attraction. It is literally a minute from DoubleSix Beach. It is a bit old-fashioned, but the traditional Balinese vibe is part of the charm. Because it is a smaller hotel, it is much quieter and tranquil than some of the larger hotels nearby. The rooms are quite big, and have balconies or patios. Some of the rooms have been renovated, others are a bit basic, but as noted by other reviewers, they have air con and hot water, which is great at a budget price.

The hotel was set in lovely gardens. The staff were very helpful and always pleasant. The rooms were "tired" the bathroom i particular was desperately in need of a make over. The bathroom furniture and fittings are old, as were the towels. Hot water ir lack thereof was an issue. The beds were extremely comfortable. I think that they maybe quite new we only stayed 3 nights, so it was okay, if I had been intending to stay longer I would have changed hotels.

Older elegance right by the beach

I loved my stay at Puri Naga Seaside Cottages. I have stayed at lots of different Bali hotels and this is my favorite so far. If you want modern, flash, new, it won't be for you. If you can't put up with a few dodgy fittings and a few loose tiles go somewhere else. But if you want a place to stay that is peaceful, with beautiful old gardens, friendly and helpful staff and central to everything while right by the beach, this is it. As I said I loved my stay here. I will definitely return. I think it is a quiet gem that I would like to selfishly covet. Puri Naga is a tranquil oasis that gave me the holiday I really needed.

Old, needs updating, but close to the beach.

Great location right next to the beach, but probably hasn't been updated since the 50s. The staff didn't speak English very well, but they we're friendly. AC worked well, and kept running even after leaving the room. There is no breakfast offered, but there are plenty of hotels and restaurants within a few minutes that have buffets and/or menu breakfasts. There are surf schools, tour companies and bar/restaurants on the beach right across the street. There is also a lot of tourist shops within a few blocks. Overall, affordable lodging in a great location (Legian) within walking distance to Kuta and Seminyak. Oh, and I didn't see any bugs in the room, only a small lizard.

The location is great (right next to the beach) and it's set in a lovely quiet garden with a nice pool. The staff are very nice and helpful. But don't expect modern rooms. It's in need of renovation but then that's reflected in the price. If you're looking for budget accommodation in Legian then it's extremely good value.

Best location with a low price

We loved staying at this hotel. It is literally over the road from the Double Six Beach .. We had adjoining rooms in the downstairs rooms. One of the bathrooms was renovated and one was not. Getting a renovated bathroom is a must and makes this hotel experience really great value. The grounds are nice and the staff are always sweeping up the leaves from the big Banyan trees. The pool is over chlorinated. Its a bit cloudy but ok for a quick dip. Would I recommend this super cheap hotel.. that would be a big Yes. Would I come again, only if I can get a reno bathroom again.

Tropical Oasis in built up Legian

We enjoyed our stay at the Puri Naga Seaside Cottages. This little hotel (around 20 rooms) is a remnant of 'old Bali'. It is a tropical oasis, surrounded nowadays by high-rise concrete hotels. We had an upstairs twin room with a lovely balcony overlooking the established tropical gardens. In the evenings bats flew around the garden! The room was good, everything worked including the air conditioning and fridge. It was cleaned daily. The only point to note is that the bathrooms are a bit old and 'tired' but perfectly functional. After all, the hotel is 20 years old!

Old hotel in bad need of a makeover

When we got to our room the furnishings were very old. The blanket on the bed had a large hole in it and the linen was dirty. The bathroom was full of mould and smelt terrible. We did not stay at the hotel, but found another one just down the road. We forfeited the complete amount of our stay. When we returned the key the staff did not seem at all surprised that we were leaving, which surprised us! We did learn one thing. Sometimes there is such a thing as too cheap in bali.

Basic hotel across the road from beach

The staff here were very friendly and the location was superb, across the road from the beach and Cocoon Beach club, and alongside numerous restaurants. Daily cleaning. I think the TV has only 2 channels that are in English -- Nat Geo and HBO. Has percolator. Do not expect for top service, for it seems they have only few staff.
