Very pleasing!

Disappointed and overcharge

My booking did not show at the hotel and we had to wait 2 hours in the lobby before we were provided with a room. I provided the proof of paying by but the hotel wouldn’t accept it. We only got to our room at 23:30. It was simply exhausting. The room is old, dirty and worn out. It is in poor condition and at $91 it has no correlation with what you pay for what you get.

Rooms are nice but hotel are extremely noisy and walls extremely thin; you can only sleep if people are not to loud or walking past of even showering next door.

Excellent accomadation

From the moment we stepped into the receiption, we were greeted with a big smile and a very friendly welcome. Check-in was fast. Our room was very comfortable. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the pool side with hot beverages. The waitress was very friendly. All in all a wonderful stay.

Did not sleep a wink

I stopped over in Bloem for the night enroute to EC.. from about 22:00 until 03:00 in the morning the person in the room next door had the music soooo loud I could not sleep. At first I was convinced there was a club nearby only to realize that the music comes from inside the hotel. I am still not sure how the reception desk was not able to hear this sound. I eventually called the front desk and they sent security to address the issue..

We stayed for one night as we had an AGM and dinner to attend. Reception excellent when asked if we could move from 2nd floor to 1st due to my wifes not liking stairs due to her knees. However the bacon at breakfast was COLD but the choice of food excellent.

An OK Hotel

It was a quiet night with few guests. The room was good. The bathroom needed a bit of a clean. Dinner was limited and too many heavy dishes on the menu. Breakfast wasnt taken.

Wxcellent overnight stay

An excellent overnight stop. With all the outdoor amenities i.e. swimmingpool and restaurant one could easily stay longer. Would definitely recommend the hotel

Stop-over with Family

Stayed over one night on a stop-over from Pretoria to Cape Town with the family. Great service, good facilities, good location close to the highway.Not much else to do in the area, but very functional as a stop-over.

Room service a huge turn down

My only complaint is that when ordered room service the price on the menu and the bill differs. The excuse offered was that I had an old menu in the room which I feel was not my mistake. I choose my dinner base on the price given in the menu and not be surprised that it cost in the end R65 more than expected. For that prize it could have eaten out. Thank you

Excellent

The overall stay was excellent,the rooms are clean and spacious,the staff is very helpful and courteous.The hotel can however improve on the food especially the buffet. The hotel is otherwise very comfortable and there is ample parking and good security measures in place for vehicles so you can sleep peacefully.The room price was really amazing as i did not expect to pay so little for so much comfort.

Business trip

The hotel is great with please try service . Bathroom is a little cramp with shower just big enough to fit in. The area is very noisy as I assume it's near a university. I stayed only one night which was Wednesday and I could hear constant loud voices outside from nearby that went on till late hours f the night

Great business hotel in Bloem

This is a great hotel to stay at for business in Bloemfontein. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The service is good. I am not sure that the breakfast, although pleasant, is worth the additional cost.

Friendly staff at check in. Good road trip hote between Johannesburg and Cape town.l

Booked for Rugby weekend. Close to centre and walking distance to the ground.

The shower not draining, shower head missing. Room and bathroom looks old and run down. coffee rations one cup per day per man perhaps! Shampoo like hand lotion??

Family road trip. Overall reception, check out and room great. The restaurant food and service was however shocking.

Rugby stay over

Book in only at 14h30 although we arrived already 12h30. Staff are all friendly but slow. Food look nice but not impressive.

The approach to front gate / boom is very disappointing (as you turn into the short road that leads to gate)...pavement, gutter, road etc not good at all....unfortunately a Munisipality issue, I would think...it detracts from the image of the hotel. I was actually unsure whether I had taken the right turn-off. The food from Room service was "dried out", not very appetising.....fairly quick though....thank you. On second day, late morning (when returned from town), had to phone for coffee etc replacements...room had been done though....reaction very quick though...thank you. Staff very friendly. Thank you

Nice hotel close to everything

Nice clean room with comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good stay overall.

Check in was 5 star! Had a glitch in my dinner order which was rectified by the manager who then took fI'll charge of my stay at the hotel. Value for money and will definitely return!

Food at the restaurant is a bit on the expensive side, but other than that, it was great.

good location, but lots of traffic noise

Clean hotel, safe with a gaurd at the gate., traffic noise was bothersome. Lots of parking availble Very neat and clean grounds

Very friendly staff, comfortable and very accessible. Unfortunately, it is on the main road and you do have some road noise when the local idiot decided to race his motor bike between traffic lights at 2 in the morning.

Great stay

Good hospitality,neat, great decor,enthuastic staff, very personal ,I had my name printed on the welcome note, great and efficient service . Close to amenities and main streets. I will certainly opt for it again.

exellent hotel

The staff were always very professional and exceptionally helpful. The food was excellent and well presented. The rooms were very clean and the bed very comfortable. My only criticism is there are no chest of drawers or shelves for clothes!

Not the best

Second time we've stayed here and not sure we will again. Service was almost non-existent and we always had to run around the bar lounge area to find someone to serve us. Never once saw anyone coming to take orders outside at the pool area. Management is oblivious to all of this.

When in Bloem

The Protea chain provides solid service and a consistent quality across all the different properties. It suits the business traveler well. The location of this property is within walking distance of the university and a short drive to the largest mall in Bloemfontein. The mall provides a full shopping spectrum as well as a range of dining options for all tastes.

The hotel, food and hospitality were well suited to the cost. Will call again.

Comfortable room, food service very questionable.

Room very comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast very expensive, and Sunday evening meal was very clearly Sunday lunch left-overs - not well presented, and "you get what there is"!

Noisy stay

They had a children's jumping castel right next to the pool and in the court yard facing the rooms. This produced a lot of noise and it is just strange that management did not realise what they were doing. Noise is a killer at any accommodation establishment. Thankfully they did switch this off after request, but it should not have been there in the first place.The hotel dining room was also totally understaffed and it took a long time to get anything ordered.

Unfortunately we were woken at 3:30am to doors slamming and people yelling.Rang security but nothing seemed to be resolved.

The service of all concerned was excellent as was the room service.

Not bad but disgusting room service food

Not bad but expected more. The room service food were horrible. I ordered lamb chops and grilled hake. The lamb should have been medium but it felt like bricks with a revolting "sweaty" taste. Other than the food the hotel patrons were friendly with great service.
