We loved staying at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great and the breakfast buffet superb.
Good room and braekfast
The hotel is centrally located on the promenade, but does not have a designated parking lot. You can use a public parking garage , but on busy days it can be full. The hotel also doesn't have a washer for the guest’s use , but there is a nearby automatic laundromat that you can use. Our room was spacious and airy with 2 balconies. The breakfast was really good with cava and quality dishes.
I will definitely stay again
Excellent position in Roses. Our room was facing the sea and had amazing views of the bay and sunset. Very clean and comfortable. A little bit noisy from the restaurant below on the street but it didn’t really worry us. The hotel restaurant is very good, reasonably priced and very busy. Get there early or book. The hotel states they have parking but it is off site so easier to get a street parking spot if you can and are able to work out the parking restrictions on the street. I found this a huge hassle. There is not even a place to drop off bags and check in.
Our room had a beautiful view of the water & the city Christmas lights. The staff was friendly & helpful. Our room was large with a separate bedroom & very clean. Breakfast was amazing! Wished I had been hungrier!
Great property
Beautiful Roses
Our normal choice to stay when visiting Roses , lovely staff great location, large rooms certainly on second and fourth floor where we try to be with the floor to ceiling doors with sea and rambler view, excellent value .
Perfect location
We stay as a family at the Mar y Sol every year. The location is perfect overlooking Roses beach and central to town for bars, restaurants and shops. The staff are wonderful. There’s an excellent choice for breakfast and everywhere is always spotlessly clean
Great hotel in middle of roses
I booked a room with a sea view. We got a suite of rooms with table 4 chairs and fridge. Lovely Right in the middle of roses
Superb location room and food
Always an amazing hotel location perfect the room modern and great windows that open great food at the on-site restaurant truly 5 stars
Amazing
Hotel was lovely the room was very spacious and the views amazing, and was nice to have a sofa. Breakfast was great a good variety. My only disappointment was the size of the Tv and the plug sockets were faulty. All in all a great stay and would definitely stay again.
Two great days on the coast, great views, and the staff at Prestige Mar ySol were so Covid safety aware it was the best!!!!!!
Fantastic views and spacious rooms
Great stay at an amazing price to quality ratio. The hotel is located in the very centre of Roses. Rooms are spacious, the same goes for the bed. We had an amazing view for the sea front. Perfect stay over all. The only small thing was that the WiFi is a little slow
Very friendly
My wife and I paid the hotel over $1000 for our projected stay there. On the day we were to fly to Spain, we were informed we could not fly to Spain because Spain had closed its border to Americans. I emailed the hotel about our inability to travel to Spain and our needed to cancel our plans. My wife’s niece lives a few blocks from the hotel. She went there to check on our status. She was told the hotel does not have email. Thus, they did not receive our cancellation. We also notified Expedia through whom we had arranged for a room at the hotel of our cancellation. They are working the problem. June 4th, the day we were to have departed from the US was a day when Americans weren’t welcome in Spain, but our money sure was.
a great hotel and a great town
it was a perfect visit
good place to visit on costa brava
a really nice place
Good Value
Hotel was perfectly adequate for our purposes. Good location close to the beach and restaurants. The hotel has no parking but we were able to find free street parking close to the hotel each day so this was not an issue. Breakfast was included and offered a usual selection of hot and cold items which did vary a little each day. Only issue was a power outage which was not the fault of the hotel and was luckily just as we were leaving the hotel so have no idea how long it might have lasted. All in all, a good value for money hotel.
Perfectly located, lovely spacious rooms and comfy beds. Excellent breakfast and lovely staff. Added bonus of being able to use the facilities at all the Prestige group hotels in Roses
Nice hotel in a convenient Costa Brava base.
Nicely located on the beach and the main strip. The room was spacious with a sitting room separate from the bedroom/bath. The fenestration was excellent - several ample exposures to the sea. Hence, the ambience is a bit noisy into the night. Roses makes for a convenient base for rides to Figueres (Dali) and boat trips to Cadequés.
Disappointing
Room was not thoroughly cleaned. No parking available
Excellent location. Only steps from the beach and all the restaurants and shops. Breakfast is very good. One comment I have is that I wish there are more hooks in the apt to hang towels. There is plenty of bare walls with almost no hanging racks. Very frustrating.
Great location right on the beach. Great breakfast - great value.
Beach stay
Hotel was very well located in the town centre overlooking the beach. I had asked for a room with a balcony on a higher floor and we were given such a room on the fourth floor . It appeared to be the only room with a balcony but I am not sure if the rooms on the fifth floor also had balconies. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and separate sitting area. Room had a fridge but no hot drink facilities. Staff were very friendly. Hotel was being renovated downstairs and once complete this should improve hotel facilities.Only negative was that although the bedrooms seem to have been renovated the bathroom tiles had not been upgraded-small details but very strange.
Wonderful
Mar y Sol is a prime beach location! Room was large with a GREAT view, staff was very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and staff were gracious about helping me with a tray so we could eat in our suite. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
Great location, on the beachfront and near shops and plenty of good restaurants
Desk staff was extremely helpful with directions and recommendations. Perfect location across the street from the beach.
Fantastic location. Beautiful views.
Fabulous stay at the hotel. Parking could be an issue in high season as it’s quite limited right outside. But plenty within ten mins walk away. Beautifully clean. Amazing view and location. Plenty of places to eat locally. Lovely beach. Nice walks. Had a mini kitchen with fridge which was great. Would have been better if it had tea and coffee making facilities. Surprised to have a separate lounge area. Had a fantastic time and would definitely return.
Hard Stay not Prestige
Basically everything is worn out except the beds because the flint stones are the only ones who could sleep on them. Front Desk 20/20 that’s it.
Not as advertised Not happy
No air con No restaurant Too hot and no heating control Noisy with windows open Asked for double and got twin Need binoculars to see tiny TV And so on
Nice and central to beach and restaurants
Good room modern bathroom large double bed and close to all amenities
Perfect Easter break
The weather was great, Roses is beautiful and the Hotel is in a perfect location. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. We went on a day trip to Cadaques which was so pretty. we went on the little train up the hill to the Nature reserve, what fantastic views.Loads of bars and restaurants in Roses to choose from and everyone very helpful and friendly. Easy to get to from Girona airport.
Great customer service
I chose this hotel because it was central to the town and was great out-of-season value. The first night was cold and it rained heavily. The room was warm, however, and very comfortable. Breakfast was good, with plenty of fresh fruit amidst the usual Spanish spread. The staff were always attentive and went out of their way to please. When they noticed that my travelling companion had a birthday during our stay they produced a birthday card and a bottle of wine as a gift on the day.
great
a very nice hotel, great sea view, good breakfast
Score! A great last minute room with a view
Fantastic room! Corner room on 4th floor with windows all around, looking at the Med. This was a suite and even had a mini kitchen set up (no utensils). Absolutely would stay here again - IF I could get this room :) European breakfast bar was very good, with several options. Close to Figures for Dali Museum, also Roman and Greek ruins. Park on the street where you can, pay meter until 8 p.m.
Our one night stop
The location of this hotel was right next to the beach excellent, the hotel room was visibly well used, especially in the bathroom shower. Poor beds and lack of pillows did not help.
Wonderful Break
Hotel very clean and welcoming. Particular member of staff who made an outstanding difference and was a wonderful ambassador for this Hotel was Claudia. She went out of her way to make you feel welcome and to offer care and support and local advice. Hotel is in an ideal location, central to shops, restaurants, bars, beach, excursions and bus station. Ample parking and also taxi rank outside. Negatives; Used to be an apart-hotel so my room had very small kitchenette behind bi-folding doors. Not really intended for use-no utensils. Better if removed it but keep fridge. This is a NON-SMOKING HOTEL, but there are ash trays in corridors. Some guests smoking in their rooms. Smell of smoke filled corridors and came into my room preventing me from sleeping. Had to leave window open. So bad one night that smelt like a fire in the hotel. I contacted the night porter; Night porter John refused to speak English although he had spoken to me before. He was incredibly unhelpful & very rude to me one night. Kept telling me "not my problem" when clearly it was something the Hotel needed to deal with. His rudeness to me was completely unacceptable. Breakfast was not great- very oily. Mattress on beds was very hard. Made my entire body ache. Put extra duvet under the sheet, but still too hard. Restaurant food excellent but very expensive.
Would of liked to stay longer
We only booked in for one night, but wish we had stayed longer, the hotel was better than expected& good value for money. We had a large suite with sea view & my mother also had a double suite for one ,she was also overjoyed with her suite. The breakfast was very good with a large selection .The gentleman on the desk was very helpful and carried the luggage to our rooms whilst I was parking the car.We arrived early, but no problem. The only downfalls were lack of parking by the hotel & no balcony .
Mar y Sol Roses - get the right floor
Generally great hotel because of its central location in Roses - However it can be noisy on upper floor - 4th floor - due to wind noise generated from their hotel sign - we moved our room to a lower floor which was fine. Cleaner also tend to make a bit of a racket in the lobbys in the morning - but very friendly welcome and good room.
Amazing Location
Fantastic location and amazing view. Right in the heart of everything and on the beach. Only downside was no parking and hard to find a spot.
Very mediocre
Very mediocre hotel across from the beach. No service at all. Old and dark and barely feels safe. I would never consider this hotel again.
Beautiful sea front hotel.
We had 2 sea facing rooms for my family of 5. Rooms we're newly painted and perfectly charming. Staff was very friendly and responsive. Bathrooms pretty good, some noise and smoke thru vents but not often. "Kitchen area" not much but fridge was nice. Overall excellent and a reasonable price.
SUPER RELAXING STAY
Stayed in a one bedroom apartment in early with my fiancée for 7 nights. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable! Wifi in room is at an extra cost. The Hotel is very clean and the staff, Claudia and her colleagues are very friendly and efficient. There is free WIFI in lobby area, restaurant and bar which works well. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food was plentiful, varied and of a high quality and breakfast with a good selection. For sure we will be coming back. We recommend this hotel.
Great views, hotel needs update!
Hotel is undergoing renovations, which is a problem for guests. Paint smells and noise disturbed us a fair bit. Our room had a kitchen but it was all disconnected apart from little fridge. Not even a kettle, so we had to chat up the receptionist and managed to get one on the quiet. Chairs and settee in room old saggy and very uncomfortable. Bed was OK, linen and towels always clean. Chambermaids did good job every day. Free WiFi was not up to much and only available in the breakfast room, if you can find a light to see where you're going. (Some areas of the hotel are badly lit and very dark)! Breakfast was included in our room rate but we found a lot to be inedible. Scrambled eggs not good, powdered egg maybe? Fruit juice like sugary water. Meats, cheese, uncovered and not chilled, sitting for more than 2 hours! No thanks.. The views and position are the saving grace for the Mar y Sol, just need to give the old girl some proper love and attention!
Lovely View!
Unfortunately I only booked in for one night...and I wish I could have stayed on longer! The room was very large and the "plaza view" really encompassed a portion of the crescent shapped beach and beautiful snow capped mountains in the distance. Couldn't have been more pleased!!
Excellent location by beach
Right across from beach with amazing views. Wifi is NOT free in the room! Very friendly, helpful staff.
Great view & fantastic location
Rollout sofa bed was comfy - good value. Breakfast that was included was average but fair.
Ideally situated
Friendly and helpful staff, everything you could wish for. My only complaint would be breakfast, a wide choice was available, just about anything you could want, but the cutlery was not suitable. A teaspoon was provided for eating cereal, a childs size fork, and only side plates to put food on.
Excellent hotel on the beach.
Clean comfortable room with excellent location and terrific breakfast.
Great Location - well situated for restaurants
We had a great view overlooking the sea. The hotel was well situated for markets, shops, bars and restaurants. The beach was over the road and lots of trips if one chose to go on them.
Overall a good hotel, great location
We only stayed one night, but the hotel was good and we have nothing negative to say.
Great Location!
We really enjoyed our time in Roses at the Prestige Mar y Sol. The hotel was great value and an even better location (right off the beach). I defintely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone with reasonable expectations.
Very nice place to stay
We were planning to stay for 1 night. We love the town, the food and the hotel so we decided to stay another night. The afternoon reception guy was extremely helpful with every problem or request we had.I Would recommend the place and would love to stay there again.
roses july 2012
old hotel, low maintenance, price excessive vs quality, more a 2 or 3 stars than a 4 stars localisation is the only advantage of this hotel
Nice centrally positioned hotel with superb views
This hotel is ideally positioned in the central area of the town, close to shops, restaurants and bars.Staff were extremely peasant and helpful. We had the choice of changing our 5th floor room with terrace, sunbeds and table/chairs for a suite with sofas and spacious living area. We opted for the terrace and spectacular views. Great to have a fridge but on the whole the kitchenette was a bit disappointing - no pans or kettle and only one cup, no bowls and no knives. Silly when there are two hotplates and a sink. It was a bit noisy when the downstairs air conditioning unit (which was positioned on our terrace) was operating. No air conditioning in our room though! The maids were a credit to the hotel. They were very efficient and performed their duties often in song obviously happy in their work! Overall, a good hotel at a bargain price when we travelled in May.
conveniently sited
a great place to stay if you do not have the use of a car
True beach front comfort
This place is great. Although not modern, it's very comfortable and you can't argue with its beachfront location. Our 2nd floor room had a view of the beach, and the one-bedroom apartment size was awesome for my two sisters and I. When we checked in they said that the kitchenette wasn't working, or being sold as working, but we found it to be fine and used it, so not too sure what they were saying. Great shower. Big bathroom. There are lots of restaurants around, and the place about 100m away that does burgers and "fast food" is so nice and the man that works there is lovely!
Prestige Mar y Sol has a perfect location! Everything was within walking distance: the beach was across the street, bakeries, shops, and nearby beach towns with beautiful views. We were very lucky during our stay! When we first arrived, we found parking on the main street right in front of the hotel (parking on the main street is really difficult), and we were upgraded to a even better room because they did not have our original room available. Our room had 3 small balconies, a fancy glassed bathroom, and a sofa and 2 small comfortable chairs. Also, the staff was friendly and spoke English. Great hotel.
poor service, misleading room description
We booked a quadruple room that was advertised as four single beds or one double bed and two single beds. When we got to our room, there were only two beds, and a couch that pulled out a small single mattress on the floor. When I approached the front desk about this, they stated simply "we don't have rooms with four beds" despite the advertisement. So my adult son was forced to sleep in a fetal position on a hard couch. I then asked about restaurant suggestions and they stated "our restaurant is the best in the city". They omitted to say it was the most expensive food in the city, and that there are an immense number of great and much cheaper options. Parking is a huge problem. The hotel has a parking garage that guests can use for 10 euros/day, but it is several blocks away, and with all the one way streets, it is difficult to access. The hotel has no amenities whatsoever. So late at night, when we wanted to get a softdrink, it was impossible. On the positive, the city of Roses itself was great, as was the location of the hotel, right in front of the beach. The room had a window facing the ocean. The room had a mini refrigerator and a stove (but ironically, there were no markets anywhere in the vicinity to buy groceries). The city is very touristy with large crowds, so if you prefer quiet and solitude, it's not the place for you.
Good value
I've got a nice 1 bedroom apartment with ocean view. Spacious bright living room with dining table and sofa. Great location, but car parking is difficult. Breakfast in the restaurant on the street was not the best. Good value overall.
Excelente!
The location is very good to enjoy Roses
Dejligt feriested
A fuir
Nikel ras tres bon emplacement
Très bien
Super

On arrival we were expecting a car park but were told it was some distance away and there was a charge. We also were asked for a deposit for the safe key. The room was good and the breakfast. But the inconveniences far outweighed the good points. We will not be staying again.
