Prestige Hotel Kampala
ON THE PHOTOS the Hotel looked amazing. the building is to be expected as older. The restaurant does not really function except for Breakfast only. you get plain Omelet with onion chives. some yogurt, fruits watermelon, pineapple, old bananas . coffee , tea and warm milk. French toast that were soggy .some cereal . Restaurant is closed or you can order for room but we did not since we know it more than likely will be microwaved. The rooms were OLD no cutleries until we requested. STAFF were exceptionally friendly , polite and very helpful. the DOORLOCKS were keys that you use for entry . only 1 set. No key cards. NO room SAFE. Shower has minimal warm water temperature. we did not get a chance to try the swimming pool although it looked very clean. Price was 130 USD per day for 2 rooms with kitchen No stove.it was ok for us in the 4 nights we stayed. If you are on a budget I would say ot is OK place. It is Dark on hallways and around the premises. even with lights on at night. The place is located around the COURTS and Government buildings. STAFF are 5 stars . including security GUARDS.
Liked it
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Excellent customer service and prompt room service to.
Friendly environment
The service was efficient and friendly. Rooms were clean. Bonus is its proximity to the market amd restaurant.
it was what I expected. Good value for the money. old but functioning
I would stay again
The hotel was clean but a little outdated. Staff were responsive to requests and the 24 hour check in was convenient because I arrived at the hotel at midnight. Overall, I would stay there again.
Ok experience
Amazing: Fast wifi, clean rooms, very friendly staff Not so good: very tiny bathrooms and breakfast not so great.
Splendid Experience
Very decent place, well kept and friendly staff.
The staff are awesome! Super helpful and friendly
Large suite with a bedroom, living room, 1.25 bathrooms (shower stall + toilet, toilet). Clean. Excellent staff overall. Restaurant with good breakfast and very accommodating, kind staff. WiFi was iffy, though.
Spacious, friendly, decent for the money
Room was very large, good value for money. The hotel has 48 rooms, while a colleague and I stayed there there was maybe 1 additional guest staying there for some of the nights, other nights we were the only ones. Safe and comfortable, staff is accommodating and friendly, central location in the city. Building is a bit old and there isn't a ton of light, surrounded by the road on one side, and empty lot on another, and a used car rental on another, but in pretty good shape overall.
The staff are friendly and very helpful. I felt safe in the propert but didn’t explore the area around much. Easy to get Uber from this hotel. The rooms were mush bigger then I expected and were clean. The kitchenettes don’t have a stove or dishes so although spacious and with lots of counter space, sink and fridge there isn’t too much you can do in it. Mosquito net present. I did not try pool as it was raining but it appears clean and well cared for, some tiles broken. The restaurant is nice but expensive. Overall positive experience but would say price for what we got is a bit high.
Excellent service
The location is great and it was good value. Excellent foo for dinner. But the best thing was to customer service. Andrew and went out their way to do all they could to make it a good stay. They succeeded. Thank you
Staff was very welcoming. The room was very clean. We enjoyed our stay.
I'll be back.
The staff were continuously helpful and courteous. Excellent breakfast, the best omelettes ever. Good pool, clean and well maintained. Big rooms, good value for money. Good location for trips to other restaurants and downtown.
Staff were very helpful and cheerfulproperty is in the centre of time and easy to access in the town
Pool tiles were bad but staff was very nice helpful , place very secure great breakfast
Pleasantly surprised
Got there after midnight, front desk was helpful, check in was quick, they helped me with the luggage to the fourth floor. There is an elevator. Room was clean, they brought water and put into the fridge. The bed was ok and bathroom too. Plenty of towels and nice shampoo. The front room is small. Breakfast next day was alacart and tasty with cereal, juices, pancakes, omelet, fruit.. not the best neighborhood but ok if you check in before 10...
What I liked most about the hotel was walking in and my wife going "WooW!" And we hadn't even gotten to the separate bedroom yet where the staff had followed through in arranging for her to be greeted by flowers and wine. Is it perfect? No place is, the shower is too small to be shared by two and takes a long time to heat up, but it provided the backdrop for a perfect Valentine's weekend for us.
Good value for money. Excellent rooms--they were spacious and clean
Seemed like a good central location. We walked to a nearby craft market that had some great souvenirs. The breakfast was nice too. Get the omelette “rolex”
Economical digs in central Kampala.
This is a dated facility in need of some upgrades but the staff are extremely helpful, the breakfast is very good and the hotel is within close walking distance of the CBD.
Service. Amazing service. Clean rooms. Beautiful facility. Thanks for everything RU.
We enjoyed our stay, the people were very friendly and always willing to help. The breakfast was really good. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bed slept very well. The mosquito net kept getting in the way but we were thankful for the net. All in all, it was a good stay and a great location for us.
This is a good hotel if you are looking for somewhere very central and affordable. The rooms are spacious and (mostly) clean and the staff are friendly.
Stay was fine, front desk staff was nice, bed decently comfortable. Shower doors were awkwardly positioned, no dishes in kitchenette. Inflexible on checkout time. Breakfast experience was mediocre. Pool is very shallow.
Surprisingly cost effective
The service at the front desk was nice. Large and clean room was always enjoyable. Free Wifi was also good regarding speed.
Clean and friendly budget hotel in good location
Looking for a budget hotel near the centre, I gave the Prestige a try and was very pleased with it. There were few guests around, but the staff were welcoming and the rooms fine - efficient AC and facilities. The breakfast selection was also quite adequate. It secure, with alert security people, and I will stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location. Walkable to many parts of downtown (approx. 10 minutes). And at night, when perhaps one doesn't want to walk to far because of safety concerns, there are a few great options close by. The room was fine for me. Clean, and comfortable bed. The water in the shower was hot. The bathroom isn't fancy, but it does the job. Towel and toiletries provided, and the refrigerator worked well for when I wanted to store my leftovers (and then reheat in the microwave). The hotel was very big, and only a few guests, so if you're looking for a social place to meet other travelers, this isn't for you.
Photos make it look much nicer than it is.
Rooms are grubby. Kitchens have no dishes, cutlery, pots and pans etc. despite it being a self-catering hotel. There was no oven in my unit, so I couldn't cook. I had to ask to have the mosquito net put up. It should be standard. The internet is very slow. There isn't enough hot water for a shower. There are no trash cans/bins in the apartment. The elevator didn't work the first week I was there. It's a very noisy place - one night a car alarm in the parking lot next to the hotel went off all night long. The road and the parking lot are very noisy in the evening and morning, and the school next door is very noisy in the morning as well. I wouldn't trust the airport pick up service either. My driver was 45 minutes late and only set off to pick me up after I called him, despite my having booked a pick up with the hotel. The staff are nice, though.
Worsening service quality
I've been staying in this hotel (or better, apartment block) for years but it's sad to notice that the infrastructure as well service quality keeps deteriorating. The breakfast buffet became less and less over the years, down to an absolute minimum. Many things in the rooms are broken. The place used to be cleaner as well. I still appreciate though the quiet area during the night thanks to closeness to the presidential palace. There are also very few guests which makes the place a nice refuge in the lively city. Also the staff is friendly and kinda try to make their best. But when the service quality doesn't improve I won't stay here anymore.
Nächstes mal such ich mir was anderes
Preis - Leistung stimmt nicht mehr. Die Einrichtungen sind ziemlich heruntergekommen. Frühstück sehr einfach. Parkplatz gut.
Very pleasant stay worth the money
The hotel offers everything one needs for a short or long stay. I stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed my small apartment. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ordered via reception on the evening before, and the choices are rich. Since I was the only guest in the whole hotel I had the whole attention of the staff for myself... what a luxury. The hotel is not top-shot in Kampala, but definitely worth the money paid. The only disadvantage is the loud Lumumba Avenue, however, the noise level depends on which side is your room. During the night it's quiet anyway.
This place is centrally located with huge appartments and comfortable couches! However there are no utensils to use, so the kitchen is not usable. Also the Microwave didn’t work. So while I loved the size, don’t expect to cook there. The staff is amazing and lovely! Absolutely top notch - kudos to all of you. The Gym is insanely good! Best gym in a hotel if you like working out and lifting. Wish all hotels understood this. New Technogym gear - great! The pool was dirty and would not touch. I think it has to do with the pollution in Kampala, rather than the hotel. Breakfast was very big and good, served by the nicest lady. Honestly I would recommend this place, despite some shortcomings. The staff, gym and size of appartments was plenty enough for me
Gute zentrale Lage
staff were kind and friendly. Location is convenient place
Good locations for busniesse trip
Very good location, big rooms,
Big and empty,but OK.
I got a huge room, which was nice. But the place is almost deserted,I only saw 2 other guests there,it was really quiet. Not a place to meet people. The staff however is helpful and friendly, location is decent. There are a couple of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was just OK,nothing fancy.
Helt ok +
Fint hotellrum men lite överpris. Dålig service, tex ohjälpsam personal. Som kund kan det vara bra att veta att det ligger en moské nära vars böneutrop hörs tydligt.
