I was robbed of my Rolex in the hotel room
Perfection as always
Great hotel and lovely staff
Loved it!!
Great holiday spot along the coast. Entertainment program and activities for the kids
It was amazing
Hotel great with some notes
The hotel was great but unfortunately there are 2 issues 1-Hotel location, is a bit far from most of the restaurants and Cafes 2-My room was located below reception ground level, and there was no left, this is a problem during check out as you would need to carry the luggage
Excellent servive and friendliness
Property went above and beyond to make my friends 50th the best experience. The stay was perfect! Highly recommend. Thank you!
Very good
Great hotel just across the sea
Staff were brilliant. Especially Cedrik.
Great location to the beach and to the local restaurants. Traffic is very crowded and busy but which means it is a great place to visit. Pools and place for children to play was very nice. Breakfast was great with many variety and quality, but could be better if the menu for the breakfast changes everyday.
Lovely place, wonderful friendly and helpful staff, amazing food especially the breakfast (!) and a amazing view of the ocean from our room! Will definitely stay there again!
Location perfect.. right next to shops and beaches..
So glad we chose this hotel. The location was near the ocean but removed from the fray of the downtown area. Neighborhood was clean and felt safe. Bed and linens were very comfortable and clean. Bath towels could use some refreshing. All of the hotel staff were kind, helpful and friendly.
Water didn't get hot, only warm. Before checkin, they sent a mail requesting my preference for walk-in shower or bath, I requested shower, they gave a bath. Door to room didn't close properly. Room was noisy at the bottom of a flight of stairs, with people waking me up at 5.30am each day as they pulled luggage up stairs. Staff were great, always smiling. Hotel on the whole is nice, well located, clean but this particular room (014) was not up to my expectation and was disappointing on an otherwise good week in CT.
Very enjoyable stay. Definitely will come back again.
Toilet kept leaking whole day and the windows couldn’t open properly The lady at the front desk Gwen was unprofessional and unfriendly and cold
Enjoyed the spa, comfy beds and large towels. Loved my stay. Friendly and great location. We would return!
Very nice comfortable, clean, safe hotel with helpful staff. My only complaint is that it was very western - might as well still been in America - but for some that may be what they are looking for.
Great hotel!
The stay was great
Lovely pool and hotel
Lovely hotel in a great location, fantastic bar and pool. Bathrooms were quite dated and could use some improvements, our shower was tiny and leaky, but would definitely stay again.
Fantastic stay and close to all amenities
I stayed at President Hotel by myself for 2 nights. As a young woman, I can say that I felt very safe and comfortable. The hotel was very spacious and clean with all the amenities you can think of. I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast and sitting out and relaxing by the pool. The hotel was in very short walking distance to a wide variety of shops and restaurants. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would be happy to come back one day!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bath needed maintenance and staff responded quickly. The hand and bath lotions need to be fixed properly as they were inconvenient to use. Overall our stay at the hotel was a great experience and will come back if our plans are to come to Cape Town again sometime in future.
I would definitely stay here again!
We were very happy with our stay. It was a great location and a lovely property. We ate dinner at the hotel, twice, because we were too tired and it was very good. It also offered a fantastic buffet breakfast.
The staff workers at this hotel are exceptionally warm & friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Would certainly return to stay should we come this way again.
Incredible spa (literally the best massage I’ve had in my life), beautiful rooms, wonderful staff, but my favorite part was the walkable access to the beach and promenade! Great restaurants in the area as well.
Large room, spotlessly clean. Within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. Easy drive to V&A Waterfront. All staff were extremely polite and courteous.
.
Clean,affordable, pleasant staff
Staff very friendly
Great!
I was not informed that the cost of my room only allowed a grounf floor or lower with no view. There was minimal hot water for showering.
This is a great hotel, definitely 4 star and possibly 5star. Superclean and well-maintained. We stayed in the Signature Ocean Suite with Balcony (bedroom with separate kitchen/sitting room and balcony overlooking the pool and ocean) which was very nice (although balcony is small, standing room only, maybe squeeze two chairs in). Great staff, great reception area with 2 decked balconies and seating, great to sit with a drink and enjoy views of the ocean. The bar & pool area, restaurant are very nice, again overlooking the ocean. Great breakfast, good wifi (passworded), area around hotel is scenic, safe, very nice walks along the ocean and cliff-side road towards Camps Bay. Hotel offers free shuttle to V&A waterfront, and Camps Bay-very useful. Also, the red Citytour bus has a stop outside the hotel- really good value tourist bus around Cape Town, great commentary, very informative. The hotel can also arrange activities such as daytrips to Cape point, Stellenbosch, shark dives, penguin colony. Nearby Regent Road has a selection of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Taxi is about 30 minutes from Airport. Uber works in South Africa, and much cheaper than UK, so journey from airport to Hotel is cheap. Airport taxis are more expensive (about 500 rand). Overall highly recommended hotel!
The hotel was clean & professional looking and all staff were very friendly. Facilities were generally top notch and the rooms were of a generous size, very clean and bed was a dream to sleep in. Breakfast buffet was great, however when eating outside you have to be very vigilant as there are birds constantly swooping around trying to steal bits of food from your plate, the hotel needs to work on that. Lastly, gym could have been bigger with a bit more equipment. Also I would just highlight the hotel felt more built for families and couples perhaps. Overall a pleasant stay.
It was family friendly
Outstanding - An expat from Cape Town now living in Florida (23 years)
Wonderful visit
Great staff. Great location. Restaurants everywhere . Great area to walk the seashore .
We’ve stayed at the President several times. It never disappoints- the rooms are nice, the location excellent, the staff warm and helpful and the breakfast is terrific. The perfect hotel for a stay in Cape Town
It was a very nice hotel and an excellent atmosphere. I will return next year
Outstanding Cape Town Hotel Choice!
Very comfortable accommodations with a most comfortable bed. The room had a balcony with an ocean view that allowed for viewing both sunrise and sunsets. The hotel staff was very friendly and interactive as well as stellar in meeting our various needs…from restaurants, directions and arriving/departing needs. We will be back!
Not what it was.
Wanted to treat my partner to a night away. It disappointed that the room not as advertised. The TV channels didn’t display correctly, there were no facial tissues (the box was empty). The toasters at breakfast did not work.
First night was excellent in regard to room allocated. Second night had to move room to be given one overlooking back street and windows of other properties able to see in my room so curtains kept shut. 2 rooms were included in the reservation. Due to bed mattress sagging it was necessary to remove bedding and sleep on the floor. Overheard other people complaining of their mattress among other things. Following a chicken meal in the restaurant I was then vomiting throughout the first night. Breakfast had to wait for available tables and apart from omelette every thing was cold. Felt treated excellent on arrival but then discarded once you paid. Memories I held of that hotel are now ruined.
Everything was great and the staff was so helpful and lovely! Can't recommend this place enough!
Excellent facility with best in class service.
Incredibly friendly staff. Excellent service. Very clean
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast excellent with multiple choices and fresh fruit .Breakfast staff (including hostess) exceptionally accommodating and efficient. Showers took a long time to get hot water, and then difficult to adjust temperature. Porters-both day and night very helpful and friendly. Staff made staying there a pleasure. Would definitely return
Nice hotel in Cape Town.
Great staycation
The staff were amazing! Sima who delivered our food to our room and Chae the kids club teacher
Great place to stay with friendly and helpful staff
This is a great hotel in one of the best locations. We enjoyed everything, from the amazing view, to great stuff, good food & drinks, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel and hopefully, we will be back.
Never again!
Having traveled from Canada with my infant on our first visit to Cape Town, we had very high expectations for our stay at this hotel. We stayed for 8 days here and I am beyond disappointed with my selection. With load sheddding, i was unable to want up a bottle for my infant. I was told by front desk to call room service for warm milk to which I was billed R12 each time. I was offered a drink and champagne for our arrival (honeymoon), neither was received. No special add ons were provided for our honeymoon stay. The icing on this disappointing stay was my family and I fell ill was a gastric bug (seeing as though the only food we consumed was at the hotel). A few other guests we met complained about the same illness but there was no empathy or check in made on us. For the amount of money I spent here and lenght of duration, I am beyond dissatisfied with the level of service shown to my family and I
Property was great, facilities and location were excellent. My only negative is that the rooms are dated and we expected better quality and more modern.
Great location, comfortable and clean room. Facilities inadequate for volume of guests. Friendly and attentive staff.
Good location
The President is located in a great spot in Bantry Bay. It is a big hotel, and rooms are lovely. Breaking was lovely, but service was a bit slow. Pool is niece , but very crowded.
Huge Disappointment
The safe was broken and nobody came up. The pool was jammed there was a line at the front desk every minute, so no questions asked. I have stayed many times before and this was a disappointment. I was upgraded to a Mountain Suite that were two dismal rooms. Sorry, not again.
Nice place to stay Beautiful views, beautiful location… lots of amenities, family friendly and able to accommodate larger travelling families… 6 in our group. This was a pleasant and welcome surprise
Really good! Very nice pool area, good breakfast, nice filtered waters in room, very helpful concierge. If you go I highly recommend asking them for the driver Phil that they are connected with for any tours or driving - he gave me the most amazing wine tour experience and knows so many owners and history!!!
We stayed for 3 weeks and were overwhelmed by the wonderful attitude of all the staff we encountered especially Zona who has a smile that can brighten the day. A wonderful extra touch was the grab and go breakfast for early leavers in the morning
Great
Nice hotel but service under par from prev stays
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times so was very disappointed to be given what had to be the absolute worst room. It was SO noisy as opposite a service door so staff were in and out constantly and the room literally shook with the noise of the door banging. The tv didn’t work and the bathroom bin was batterer beyond belief, nor did the window lock which was worrying given it was ground floor! The service has gone downhill, you have to ask about 3 times for anything, we waited over an hour for a salad poolside and over half an hour for two beers from the bar. There’s plenty of staff but seems pretty disorganised. That said, the staff are v friendly and the hotel is v clean, although some of the rooms now quite scruffy.
Very lovely place, neat and friendly staff. Close to the beach too. I was here 3 nights and I lived it.
Enjoyable stay!
A very comfortable stay at the hotel. The bathroom required a little bleach. The corridor was far too brightly lit. Garish and contrast to the darkness of rooms, during a power outage.
I booked ocean views suit but the gave me swimming pool room and play with me and I didn't get what I paid for
All good.
The breakfast was amazing and the hotel staff were excellent!
Everything at the hotel was excellent as usual. The problem was when it came to breakfast the staff could not manage the volume of guest. Toaster was not working they had 1 chef in attendance serving eggs, to get coffee was an issue. It was a shamble.
worth a visit
I enjoyed my stay
Great staff that were looking to help. They were pleasant and friendly. I would highly recommend Presidents to friends. We stayed in many hotels over our 2 week honeymoon to South Africa, and Presidents Hotel was by far our most enjoyable stay.
Last night in Cape Town before seeing kids off to Hong Kong. The hotel was perfectly situated. Close to the beach , with beautiful views. The room was superb, and the beds super comfy with good linen. The staff were
Amazing and recommended hotel.
An amazing hotel to stay in. The friendliness and cleanliness of the hotel could not be surpassed. We stayed for 3 weeks and did not find fault in anything we experienced at the hotel. Breakfast was included in the price and you could ask for anything, within reason, and you got it. The buffet was very extensive and the hot section has variations on a daily basis. Situated very close to the beach and not a long drive to the V&A waterfront or central Cape Town. All staff made us feel very welcome and were always happy to help no matter what the request was. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place that is central.
While it is not their fault, guests need to realize Load Shedding is a daily occurrence and could severely impact their stay.
Great staff
Friendly staff -- awesome location, best breakfast!
The worst “nice” hotel I have ever stayed in
From the service to the cleanliness, this is the worst “nice” hotel I have ever stayed in. The air conditioning did not properly work, it took 15+ minutes to get warm water, and the room was not adequately cleaned. I was very disappointed and would not recommend staying here.
Good business hotel
Excellent breakfast
Great overall property however staff at times were a bit difficult
Stay for Business
No living up to the 4 stars more like a 2 star.
Very well maintained. Very clean. Friendly and responsive staff.
LOVED IT!
Excellent service with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Most beautiful views from our room. Delicious affordable food at in-house restaurant, once again with very friendly staff. Safe to walk in area. Loved it!
Great place to stay
Super friendly staff. Good location. Clean hotel. And great cocktails
great hotel
Great stay. We were upgraded to a 2-bedroom apartment, on the top floor with a balcony, the view was absolutely stunning. The room was clean but lack of personality, like in many big hotels. furniture a little tired in the lounge but overall very good for the price paid (£164/night). Breakfast was a huge spread, very tasty! we were there just before Easter, there was a great DJ paying music during the day, but the hotel room was quiet at night. It is worth paying for sea view room, we had a view of Robben island and watching surfers early morning from our balcony was bliss!
Not worth the price
Building is old rooms are average TV was terrible. Decor was trash.
I enjoyed Rm 339 for 3wks, great view and comfortable for my 2 children and me.
The property had a great view of the ocean
Stay was rather average. I expected more out of the room. President Hotel comes with high reviews but rather over stated. I only stayed for 4 nights but was not in the room for most of day thus I did not complain. My room has a headboard for a Kingsize but with a twin bed. Just 1 bedside cupboard. No hairdryer, has to request. No room service menu, had to request. No emergency lights in the room which should have been a requirement. Bath/ Shower area has not handle for easy exiting off the tub. Staff was rather pleasant and made me happy.
President
Stayed for 20 nights , was too long for this hotel breakfast not much change and the most back aching loungers they need up grading urgent change required staff around pool friendly , weekends pool very busy with locals .
Nice
Excellent Service
Enjoyed our stay at the President Hotel! Thank you for the card and chocolates on my birthday!
The apartment I booked was on the 1st floor. The noise from the street entrance and the bar was super loud ie: music, then people talking etc. I couldn’t sleep because the street lights were quite bright, the noise even with the windows closed and the uncomfortable pillows. The telephone needs to be cleaned as it was filthy and sticky. The coffee sachets looked so old and grimy. The apartment had significant wear and tear. The price for one night was over R6000 but I really did it feel that it was worth it. There was no view as you were so low down. We waited for 45 min to get service at the restaurant, granted they were busy and only had two waiters for the outside area, however if you knew the hotel was fully booked, then you make you sure you have staff available. The food was not great. We had congealed nachos with a dodgy white sauce that looked like soup in the center. (who puts white sauce on nachos), the Parmesan fried with the same dodgy white sauce and the watermelon salad. The service is great but I felt like everyone was spinning around. None of the guests anywhere wore masks. We even had people at the next table (UK) telling us to take off our masks and laughing at us for wearing ours (thought that was a rule?).
Pleasant stay
We had a very pleasant 1 night stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Lovely swimming pool area and an excellent breakfast.
Best Venue in Cape Town
I've stayed in a number of hotels in Cape Town. The President was by far the best venue. I'll be in Cape Town again and would not think of staying in any other hotel. Very friendly personnel, great food, great locale. Nothing negative!
Staff were very friendly and helped us as much as they could. The pool and area around the pool was clean and comfortable. My only problem with my stay which wasn't a huge deal was our bed. It was a little too soft but thats me.
Great place
We’ll maintained, great location and great value for money
Excellent stay.. staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was brilliant, the vegan section makes it easy for us muslims to consume alot during the breakfast time...the guy at breakfast by the name of Richard was really helpful and always welcoming, location is great n safe, only thing thats needs abit of attention is the bathrooms.
Lovely stay. Spent the night as a Birthday treat for myself. Was well worth is.
Friendly staff and amazing sea facing view
Brilliant location, ocean view and the service was amazing. In fact the best part of this hotel was how warm and friendly the staff is. Coming from cold Europe, the staff’s friendliness was priceless.

Convenient for airport. Good customer service. Didn’t like bathroom being part of the room.
