A very nice, clean and modern room with complimentary water and wifi. Air conditioning would have been of benefit and possibly expected; but the property, the staff, location and more so the room, were excellent and good value for money. I will certainly use this accommodation again.

I stayed at the plaza for two nights and honestly I wish I could of stayed longer. It was great! I love the town and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I arrived early and I was able to check in early and get a room with no hassle. The only thing I would suggest is maybe have space heater in the rooms it was a bit cold in the night. But other than that. I would come back here and stay again :)

Overall, it's ok. The room was clean, and they were coming every day to ask if they need to clean anything and empty the bin. The room where I was just above some kind of workers who were very noisy during the day, but during the night was everything fine. Internet connection was ok. The fridge bar was empty and they told me that's because of covid, so they let guests put their own stuff there, which is also ok. The biggest issue I had was that when I came to do checkin, was Sunday and nobody was there so I had to use the auto checkin option with machine. That machine was asking me to pay for the hotel costs, even though I already paid them through Expedia. I had no option than to pay, because machine didn't want to complete the process before I pay. So, it was a little bit unplanned costs for me and if I didn't have money to pay it, I would probably need to sleep on the street. :-) They were very quick to refund me this amount, so no worries for that. When I was leaving, another guy had an issue with the machine as well, he was a Swiss citizen and he was confused with something. Overall, it's good to come during the regular hours if you plan to do checkin. Overall, a good place to stay, nothing really to complain.

The hotel is in the old town of Winterthur. Very convenient for dining and close to the train station. The room has a Nepresso machine and a refrigerator. Can’t ask more for the price.

Facility is responsible for rooms and people in the rooms. Reception was unmanned whole weekend. Who should be contacted in case some problem occurred? Problem was a human kind-noisy neighbours:music, sex, talks. Why I need witnessing all this happenings?

Noisy and hot

Hotel is in a good position easy enough to find. Auto check in which isn't great. No breakfast was being served. My room on the road side of the hotel was unbearably warm for all of the 4 nights i was there even with the window open.. which in itself isn't ideal because there is a lot of late noise from the bar downstairs and the rock club next door. The addition of air conditioning to the rooms would dramatically improve the appeal of this hotel

Friendly staff, good location. But rooms on the street side are noisy from traffic and people. It was also very hot, but could be because ventilation was mostly switched off because of Covid.

Very noisy hotel unfortunately. Under redevelopment downstairs frustrating. No restaurant either due to the coronavirus which I understand can’t be helped.

Very comfortable but not much of a lobby. Good location and convenient to downtown. Limited hours at front desk require careful advance planning for late arrival and early departure. Would stay again.

Highly efficient hotel in the center of town where shopping stores and restaurants are all within walking distance. Public transportations are also highly accessible and efficient. Efficiency, convenience, cleanliness and affordability are the main selling points, but travelers should remember that this is not a luxury hotel.

Despite having opening times dispalyed, neither the restaurant nor the bar seemed to be open during our 3 day stay. The housekeeping was poor on our first night, but fine thereafter. We were given a "suite" (i.e. it was a bit larger than the standard rooms and had a small sitting area) which was quiet, comfortable and clean with a nice coffee machine. Would prefer a full size duvet to the two single ones supplied, but that's just a personal preference. Reception only staffed for certain hours, so if you arrive in the evening, for example, you have to stand at the machine at the front door to check in and obtain your room keys so you can get into the hotel. Parking opposite is handy but very expensive. Hotel has parking slightly further away for Sfr20/day. Overall very pleasant, just a little quirky.

The location, size and quality of room all good. Preferred to have some late checkout options for few hours. They offered late check out after we vacated the room for one full day rate which is not fair.

Just ok. A bit cold environment to feel comfortable.

Free parking was advertised on the Expedia site, though there is no free parking and none at all at the hotel. You have to either park in an underground lot across a busy road or along that road where there is limited parking and none of it is free. Also, you have to feed the meter every 2 hours unless it is after 8pm. The lady who met us at the reception was friendly but gave us an Israeli coin when we were getting change for the meter. She exchanged it after she realized it, and put it back in the drawer, but the next morning another lady gave my husband the same coin when getting change to feed the meter at 8am. She left and couldn’t be found. We couldn’t find anyone to exchange the coin and get our 2 Swiss francs back in the morning or at 11am when we checked out. There was no one in the bar or restaurant either. There is an elevator. The double rooms are too small. There is a wooden frame around the bed that both of us constantly bumped into and got scraped up on. There was a window overlooking the pedestrian street into the oldtown squares. Since there was no air conditioning and no top sheet on the bed, only a heavy duvet, we were obliged to open that window for air. Unfortunately, even though it was a weeknight, there were people drinking and being very loud and obnoxious until after 2am. We got to listen to one drunk man holler in German for hours. Since the people at the reception leave by 9pm, there was no one to call the police or do anything about it.

Switzerland, as a country, does not believe in air conditioning. Apparently, there are only about 20 days throughout the year that are warm enough to require it. We stayed at the Plaza on several such days -it was 80 degrees F on the day we checked in with almost no breeze. Cooling is accomplished by opening the windows, and by circulating outside air through vents at night. Unfortunately, our room was on the second story facing a very busy street. We had to choose between sleeping in a very hot room or opening the window to try to cool off, thereby dealing with terrible noise from the road as well as loud people (talking, singing, arguing, smoking) right below our window. Either way, we slept poorly.

Beautiful hotel

After being stuck in the Zurich airport for 24 hours the hotel staff was a blessing. Perfect German and English, aesthetically pleasing, and the location couldnt be better. Rooms are better equipped than some 5 star hotels. We stayed two more days than initially planned.

Very functional hotel for business travellers.

The hotel has no lobby or any other facilities for leisure stay. Roomwas extremely clean and well organized, but rather small. Very comfortable for sleep over, but no balcony view. Breakfast was great and the lady running the dining room was very nice and helpful.

Good location

The location of this hotel was great, a short walk to the main train station and lots of shops nearby in a pedestrian area. There were 2 downsides, one was traffic noise, really only bad in the evenings and the windows kept out a lot of the noise. The other was the smoking, someone in the room next to us would light up each morning and the smell would come into the room. I don't see this as the fault of the hotel so much as just being the way it is in europe. I would stay at this hotel again. The rooms were a nice size and friendly staff.

Close to the station, next to cobbled streets and boutique stores. Breakfast was wonderful and staff are lovely.

Convenience & Cleanliness

Located in downtown Winterthur within walking distance to many restaurants, train station, retail shops. This is the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Can be noisy at night on weekends with windows open during warm weather due to being in the downtown area, but this comes with the convenient location. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for the cleanliness, convenience, and price. Very satisfied with my 10 day stay there. Would definitely stay again. Staff even provided plug adapters for us during our stay.

Quick turn around.

The hotel is small and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating The down side to my stay was that I had to go to another hotel my second day at the Plaza due to an over book. I thought that the manager was kidding. Unfortunately the next day we were escorted to another hotel. Instead of returning to the plaza, I bored a plane and returned to the States. First time I ever experienced something like this. I felt embarrassed.

Super location

The room is incredibly warm. The ventilation in the bathroom runs continuously and is not only noisy, but adds to the heat in the room. The refrigerator in the room does not work. The carpet is dirty and the cleaning is superficial.

Viel zu laut

Keine Klimaanlage bei 30 Grad eine Zumutung, wenn man in Richtung Straße sein Zimmer hat. Die Fenster zu öffnen bei einer Hauptverkehrsstraße nicht denkbar. Rechnung hat nicht mit der gezahlten Online übereingestimmt. Frühstück ein Witz für 20SFR, Kaffe aus kleiner Maschine 2 Wurstsorten, kein Wasser. Das ganze Frühstück gab es im Dönerrestaurant.

Waren nur eine nacht da aber war wie ein urlaub. Vom Check in bis abreise reibungslos. Das zimmer war sogar mit einer kleinen küche ausgestattet kam man sich vor die in einer 2zimmerwohnung

Sehr zentral gelegen, wir hatten einen schönen Blick auf die Altstadt. Lebendiges Quartier, wer absolute Ruhe sucht, sollte nicht hier übernachten. Wer es mag, am Puls zu sein, dem sei das Hotel wärmstens empfohlen. Super Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Ich habe sehr schlecht geschlafen. Strasse war laut. Trotz Jalousie sehr hell. Vorhänge waren nicht zum verdunkeln.

Nicht schlimm aber nicht was man erwartet.

Es war ok. die Fotos sind deutlich toller als es wirklich ist. Rezeption in begrenzte Uhrzeiten, ist für ein 3 sterne Hotel nicht normal. Das Putzpersonal war sehr laut auf den Gängen, am Sprechen und Musik hören. Das war unangenehm um 8:30 morgens. selbst nachdem ich sagte wir wären davon wach geworden und bat etwas leiser zu sein sagte sie, es würde aber gleich noch lauter weil die saugen müsste. Frühstück kann man nur ins Zimmer bestellen. 20 Franken Pro person, happig.

Hôtel à éviter en été, un véritable four!

Arrivé en fin d'après midi dans une chambre digne d'un four, pas de climatisation et seulement un ridicule ventilateur, la rue très bruyante ne permet pas de laisser la fenêtre ouverte la nuit. Je pense que cet endroit doit être agréable hors saison d'été! Aucun interlocuteur dans l'hôtel. Les pires 2 nuits de notre voyage! Terrible place in the summer time, no AC and impossible to sleep with the window open on a very noisy street!

Die Unterkunft ist ok, das Bett leider viel zu weich und für das Frühstück auf dem Zimmer fehlte leider ein Stuhl. Das Frühstück war sehr ausreichend!

Das Zimmmer roch stark nach Tabakrauch, sauber, aber ohne Charme. Bad tadellos.

Die Mitarbeiterin, hat uns trotz Feierabend, geholfen. Sie war hilfsbereit, freundlich und absolut kompetent. Sie setzt Prioritäten der Reihe nach um. ( hinter uns wollte ein anderes Paar einchecken )

Warm and professional service at Plazza Hotel

Due to a mistake I did not book the right dates and when I was in front of the ATM of the Hotel, it had no reservations for me. I was unable to contact Hotels.com , no phone number, unable to change dates on line contrary to what it was stated on their website. Luckily the person from the hotel was available and despite the late hour. She was very supportive and after some research she was able to change the dates of my stay on her application and provide me a room. Thank you very much Plazza Hotel for your Service. I warmly recommend.

Ideal für eine Städtereise

Spontan gebucht auf der Durchreise waren wir mit der Unterkunft und der Lage sehr zufrieden. Wir würden uns wieder für das Plaza entscheiden.

Trop de bruit

Grande chambre bien située avec un grand bémol. On entend la circulation et les gens à l'extérieur, même avec les fenêtres fermées on entendait le bruit !

Bon emplacement mais globalement déçue

Hotel bien situé au centre piéton. Chambres correctes. Hotel annoncé avec restaurant (grill et hamburger), finalement il y a un kebab à la place, où nous n'avons pas mangé. Service limité (reception fermée à 16 heures). Check in tres compliqué: l'appareil pour le check in automatique en panne. La personne qui nous a finalement ouvert (après avoir attendu et demandé au kebab) n'a pas été des plus cordiales. Pas de petit dejeuner, car nous avons vu par après que nous aurions dû lannoncer la veille (ce que la dame a omis de nous dire). Globalement déçue par l'établissement.

Dès notre arrivée la réception était fermée. Dans l’ascenseur une notice annonçant qu’il n’y a pas de petit déjeuner. Aucune autre alternative proposée le client livrė a lui-même. La chambre pas très propre (fenêtres).Menage minimum durant le séjour sans remplacement de thé ou café. Nous comprenons la situation actuelle mais néanmoins des efforts pour accueillir les clients peuvent être entrepris. Chambre donnant sur la rue...très bruyante. Pas entièrement satisfait de l’établissement. Nous n’avons personne vu dans l’hôtel donc on ne nous a pas demandé si tout allait bien 😒

Choisir un bon hôtel à Winterthur

Très bon hôtel, super qualité / prix. Point négatif et non mentionné ou clairement mentionné : places de parc à dispo pour l'hôtel. En face de l'hôtel (entrée sur la droite pour se rendre au parking et à 50 mètres à vol d'oiseau de l'hôtel), il y a un parking souterrain hyper pratique.

Ich war schon mehrmals in dieser Unterkunft und es gefällt mir super. Dieses Mal hatte ich jedoch das Zimmer direkt neben dem Lift was für mich etwas laut war. Da ich Schule hatte und viel Schlaf brauchte war es etwas mühsam die "Nachtschwärmer" zu hören welche spät ins Hotel zurück kamen. Definitiv werde ich das Hotel aber wieder buchen und kann es auch nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind schön gestaltet und sehr sauber; die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Negativ war allerdings der Service. Die Rezeption war während drei Tagen nicht einmal besetzt. Das Restaurant und die Bar waren stets geschlossen. Darüber hinaus war der Frühstücksraum so kalt, dass man einen Winterpullover anziehen musste. Auch das Bad war nicht geheizt. Schließlich war bei Ankunft der Duschschlauch lose.

Unmanned Hotel at Night

There is no staffs at night in the reception. We arrived at the hotel around 8 pm, but there was no staff at all. There is only banding machine to get key out side of hotel. You have to put your information in the banding machine so that you can go into the hotel. It's a little inconvenient. And breakfast was very limited. However the room was relatively big and clean. It is the only good point.

Schöner Aufenthalt

Wahr sehr angenehm und gut zu finden. Im Zimmer haben wir noch gebrauchte Zahnseide und einen Prosecco Zapfen gefunden. Vom Service her ist es eher schlicht gehalten.
