The stay at this place was absolutely wonderful. I truly, truly enjoyed my time here. The staff is incredibly friendly and super helpful, and I was treated so well by everyone, from the very first to the very last person I interacted with throughout my stay. Additionally, the location is right by the beach—literally just a few steps away—which made it even more delightful. It’s also surrounded by plenty of restaurants, so there are lots of meal options to choose from. Plus, the transportation to the Male Jetty or the airport takes only ten minutes, making it super convenient for getting around.

Clean and convenient location

Ok, but not great

The staff at Pine Lodge is very helpful. The room I stayed in, on the 2nd floor with balcony, was ok. The breakfast they served was mediocre and could be improved a lot. For a budget hotel, it is passable.

Bad experience. No lift, no AC at the lobby, no ventilation for rooms though it was said garden view. Doors will be locked at night if you are late need to bang on doors.

Though the price you pay (including taxes) is high compared to other holiday destinations (not the responsibility of the property but pertains more to the prevailing prices at the destination itself), stay in Pine Lodge is quite comfortable. The premises are clean & well kept. Particular mention needs to be made about the bathrooms which are sparkling clean. This is not a luxury hotel, but a middle level property with a personal touch. However, mention may be made about the fact that: 1. It is not facing the beach (one parallel road away) though just a few minutes walk away. 2. Out of the 12 rooms, 9 are without balconies, however, the space available in room is adequate for not feeling boxed in. 3. Breakfast has limited variety but adequate. 4. In view of the small plots on which most hotels in the area are constructed, there has been an effort to optimally use land area as well as the space within the hotel. 5. No lift is available, & stairs are steep & narrow. However, the excellent maintenance & condition of the building obviates any negative closed in feeling.

Satisfactory stay

Pine Lodge has a good location. Very near to the airport, the beach and restaurants. There is even a convenience store a few steps away. The room is cozy and spacious. I like it that there is a balcony to see the street below and the neighborhood. The staff was also very helpful with information and with the airport transfer.

The receptionist, Shifana, was very friendly and helpful.

The property has lost some of its standard since I last stayed there years back . The blinds were damaged and the room was warm even though the aircon and fan were on . In the morning when we had breakfast , the aircon was not on and guests were eating at stuffy and humid lobby . Had to wait till the receptionist arrived at 7.30am to have the aircon turned on. Breakfast was bare minimum .

Relative to the area the hotel is OK !

‘Relative’ to the area the hotel is good ! Not an impressive breakfast ! Rooms are clean, I didn’t mind but others may find the bed uncomfortable as it was solid. The area is not nice at all ! Ok for s night or two before moving onto somewhere else. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Close to the airport, great staff, easy to contact

Different from the pictures. Wifi didn’t work and I felt that the owner of the hotel was trying to over charge for different tours, so we ended up not doing anything. Overall a bit disappointing.

Okay stay. Room was on the third floor with a view of construction across the road. The hotel is one block away from the beach. The room floor felt dusty when walking barefoot. The staff were pleasant.

Amazing Staffs

I would say this hotel is home away from home, staffs so welcoming and very accommodating. We got to the airport late and our transportation to the island won't be till the next day. This hotel helped us with literally everything. I would recommend them over and over.

My partner and I stayed in 2 layover hotels for our flight schedule, this was the second location for us. It was more expensive than the first stay right by the beach. The room was very comfortable and spacious for local standards, the location was 1-2 blocks away from the beach. The owner and staff was quite nice and helpful, but there were 2 areas that was disappointing about our stay. Our booking says transport from the airport is included, but we were charged USD 10 per person per trip the moment we arrived, we paid USD 40 extra. Breakfast was paltry. There was no food. Juice was from concentrate, and serve toast with jelly, not jam. Given this was about $20 USD more expensive, this was disappointing since the other location provided proper breakfast. The station had1 bowl of baked beans, hard boiled egg, toast, and jelly. Only when the boss noticed, 1 sausage and papaya was brought out. We were followed by a 'associate' from Male who was not a hotel staff who tried to send us on fishing trips, dolphin watching, and tried to 'help us' exchange money at a high rate he claims was the hotel rate. We were not sure if the owners know about this. It made us very uncomfortable. Overall, good for a sleep-in layover, expect extra charges and on food.

ROCK HARD BEDS, COULD NOT SLEEP

Horrible. Rock hard beds, no matress topper available. Had made a request from the receptionist which they acknoledged but then they had done the complete opposite. Totally unprofessional. The transfer was professional. We booked and PAID for an ocean view room but their excuse was that the hotel was fully booked. They gave us a construction view room. Totally unaccpetable. The transfer was very polite and efficient. They were apologetic probably because they knew they had messed up our booking and wanted to avoid bad feedback but they should have respected the booking. I would not trust them again with another stay. We had breakfast in our booking but didn't even look at it because the breakfast area was full.

Really OK but....

A 1 night stay before moving to our resort. Nice, clean, homey. Bed is soft. Food is good but very expensive! Charges food like a 5-star hotel and be mindful it doesn't include the tax yet. One seafood noodle will cost US$20 + tax. Breakfast is awful. Obviously, owner is trying to save cost at ALL COST. Chicken sausage needs to be hidden and have to order 1 piece every time in order to be served. It is not even served as part of the breakfast buffet which is only boiled egg, bread with butter and coffee. If they can fix this part, I can keep coming back...

Good hotel for transit

Stayed for 1 night only as we arrived Male late instead of going straight to our resort. Friendly welcoming staff and very cosy hotel to stay in. Great customer service, our drop off time to the ferry to get to our resort was organised by their staff. With breakfast I can only recommend given it is limited option for it to be served/made to order only and towels to be replaced, upgraded.

Nice transfer hotel

Nice transfer hotel. We arrived quite late but they made us some delicious food from their kitchen. They also made a nice towel arrangement for our honeymoon. Breakfast was so so. Bed was very hard. Service was very nice. They accompanied us to the airport and found our resort transfer desk for us. I would stay here again.

Very nice staff, clean facility and clean room, however, breakfast could be improved. They only have white sliced bread, hard boiled egg, orange and Apple juice/tea/coffee. They serve sausages, but only 1 per person. Major construction going on in front of the hotel, so it's very dusty and noisy during the day. The ocean view is blocked by these constructions. If you're just sleeping over night, it's a good transit hotel.

Great Hotel near Airport with Awesome Hosts

I've been to Maldives twice already and I have yet to book a schedule that gets me in by 2pm to make certain resort transfers. The first time I traveled from Male straight to the other island but it took several hours of waiting in a lobby, a plane and a speedboat to get to my final destination. Had I known the first time that I could have just spent the night in Male to get a good night's rest after a long 24 hours of traveling, I would have. We were forced to do an overnight in Male due to the other hotel's transfer time at 4pm. Leaving after this time would have cost our group $1050. I found Pine lodge and loved that it was just a few minutes from Male airport. Organizing the hotel transfer was very easy. Transfers were just $5 a person. The hosts were super helpful. They helped get in touch of our other hotel and directly organized our transportation since we had last minute changes to our plans. Our hotel provided breakfast, exchanged currency, and even saw us off at the dock when we took our transfer to our next resort. Part of my group had a late departure out of Male when we were going home and decided to do the half day stay so they could explore Male and have somewhere to leave their bags and also have somewhere to shower before the long journey back. We highly recommend this place (:

Nice hotel, excellent people

We originally only booked for one night as we planned to stay with another hotel for other nights. We were most pleased by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people at Pine Lodge and the room was very comfortable. The other hotel we stayed at was horrible in comparison so we decided to refund the other hotel and switch back to Pine Lodge. Because we booked very last minute for the switch, we could only pick a TWIN room within our budget, but the owner at Pine Lodge recognised us and upgraded us to a nice DOUBLE room without us even requesting! They were very helpful about everything - with arranging transfer to and fro the airport (kudos for always being punctual) - and when my husband dropped his phone in the water, the staff was quick to help salvage it by helping us put the phone in a bag of uncooked rice (lol). We enjoyed every bit of our stay with Pine Lodge!

Very Nice Cozy Family Business

Hotel is very clean and apparently new. Owned and operated by a very friendly nice family who are doing a great job running their business. It is only 1 minute away from the beach and the closest to airport. They serve a good free breakfast, rooms are fitted with HD TVs with very good channels. They do provide airport shuttle at 5$ per person, which is very convenient. It was an idle choice for a one day transit after my maldive trip to visit Male and Hulhumale islands on my way back.

Perfect 1 night stay

Everything was great with my stay. I really appreciated how the staff got up at 5am to make us breakfast because our flight was leaving at 6am. The only thing I did not like were the beds because they were too hard.

It was good for our one night stay before going to our private island , the bed was a bit hard though.

OK Stay for limited choices

The overall district of Hulhumale is quite heavily under construction, so maybe visit in a few years where maybe tourism will pick up and there will be more activities abound. For the guardhouse itself, we got the most basic room and it was quite nicely decorated and overall well-maintained. Although, the bed was quite hard and there is a "balcony" which we can't excess with a hole down the bottom.

Quiet, clean hotel near the tourist beach

Some minor hiccups: slow Internet, noisy doors, low water pressure in the shower, no elevator ( but a staff brought our suitcase up and down the third floor), poor choices for breakfast (no hot chocolate nor pastry nor yogurt, just oranges as fresh fruit). All in all, we liked it a lot because it was relaxing and quiet, and the staff has helped us enjoy it with their professional yet friendly and easy going attitude: thank you! We recommend this place.

The hotel is very close to the beach. It is a nice place to spend time while on transfer from your incoming flight or to your outgoing flight. Along the beach there are a couple of restaurants. We arrived in Male by public ferry from Diffushi. From there we took a taxi to the airport ferry. Once at the airport you go to the information centre and you call the hotel. Pickup came within 20 minutes.

Hotel is clean and fuss free. Kudos to the free airport transfer even though it was quite a wait. Breakfast is simple. Good for those in transit to the resort for next day.

Good transit hotel.

With a complimentary transit to and from the airport in close proximity and quiet location, would recommend this hotel for anyone at the beginning or end of their journey. Beach is a close walk away to stretch and get some sun.

Good hotel, close to airport.

The hotel is nice and close to the airport. Is ok for a 1 night stay. Transport from/to the airport was provided free of charge. The rooms are big, clean, in good condition and air conditioned. The toilet is small but ok for a 1 night stay. We were a group of 4, staying in 2 different rooms. The matress in one of the rooms was unreasonably hard (like sleeping on a table), but in the other room was ok. Breakfast was provided early (at 5:30 am). The quality of breakfast can be improved, but we were happy to eat something before our early morning flight. The hotel is located in an area surrounded by construction works. However, they did not disturb our sleep.

Comfortable and clean room. There was no lift in the building connecting the floors. Our room had no other view but the surrounding buildings.Strict policy on check out time.

Good Overnight stay hotel near to airport!!

There is no car pick up with our names when we arrived at the airport & the driver who came later claims that he was not given the timing...but we did text them our flight details days before our arrival....lucky we can get a free call to the hotel from the airport information counter...a driver was deployed immediately & reaches us in 10 mins....The hotel is welcoming upon arrival & check in is smooth...our room is spacious & clean with full amenities..we order a pizza for lunch & it only arrived after 45 mins with calling & asking & was told they mixed up the order....LOL..but pizza is nice....Checking out next day is quick & simple with complimentary breakfast of sausage, beans, toast & soft boil egg which the yolk is done so softly that we had 2 of them.....The driver who send us to the airport also help us to locate the counter for our resort transfer !! Overall I am happy with the stay & service of this overnight hotel !!

Good transit hotel

Good hotel for one night before transit to islands. No reason to stay on Hulhulmale other than for transiting through. The room was comfortable and clean. There's nothing in the area except construction of similar hotels. Airport transfer was $15/person Roy trip which seems expensive for the maybe 2 mile trip. No taxis around though so not much choice.

Definitely recommend and will stay again

Excellent Staff service, very helpful, friendly. Everything is very good except for the neighborhood (far from the shopping)and lighting in the bathroom.

Close to the Airport

The Pine lodge is part of a community being built for the future, as new, small hotel owners are building just one block from the beach. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity but the Pine Lodge staff had plenty of recommendations with offers to assist. The staff was very friendly and helped with everything I needed. If you want to be near the airport and away from the farther away beach resorts, Pine Lodge would not be a bad choice.

Very hard bed

Airport transfer was done quickly with the hotel's Toyota Wish MPV. The bedding was very hard and we had difficulty sleeping. Small shower and toilet. But you get what you pay for especially in Male/Hulhumale.

What a wonderful stay! I will be back!

My father and I stopped one night at this hotel before transferring to a resort in the Maldives, the service from start to finish was amazing at the Pine Lodge. We were promptly collected at the Male airport in a very nice and comfortable car, the driver was very friendly and more than happy to load our cases. On our arrival at the lodge we were met by some very friendly people who offered us a refresher towel and nice tropical drinks, the lady that assisted us with checking in was lovely and very helpful even confirming our flights with the resort for the following day and arranging our transfers back to the airport for check in on the local sea plane. The bedroom was amazing, a very comfortable bed and very spacious room. the minibar was well stocked and the bathroom and main room was extremely clean. The room had everything you need including plenty of hanging space, more than enough room for bags to be opened on a stand. Free Internet and TV was also provided. In the morning they arranged a wake up call and came to collect our begs and take them to the car, when we came down they had cooked breakfast for us. Lots of food including a omelette freshly cooked. Over all the service was outstanding, friendly and I will be staying there again when I come back next year. Thank you.

Good food but boring neighbourhood

An awesome over-night little hotel for those who need to stay on the island for the domestic or international flight the next day. There is really not much to do in the neighbourhood as the whole island centres on the airport and there's not even much lights on the streets during the night. I heard there's a beach nearby but nah I didn't come to Maldives for this beach if you know what I mean. You may wonder what you can eat during your stay. I am happy to report and was actually surprised how good the food was at this tiny hotel. I had two meals there and was happy both time. Be prepared for the 22% service charge (10%) and tax (12%) on all sales - including food - during your stay.

Overall pretty good stay, minor hiccups on the service

Overall it was good, nice room just had a problem with the taxi pickup and the room service order. It was not efficient and had to wait for an hour. Also, taking room service order was not pretty accurate, had to wait for the other food.

For a quick overnighter, this is a must stay.

For an overnight stay near the airport so you can catch your seaplane in the morning, this hotel is fantastic. The only downside is that there is nothing to do in the neighborhood, but you don't need to take a boat over to Male. The staff are amazingly helpful and nice.

Pleasant surprise beyond my expectations!

I did not have high expectations of this hotel, but was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. In fact, the food was better than the resort food in which we paid 4X the price. We were impressed by the energy of the staff and going beyond the call of duty to ensure we are well taken care of. It is a very new hotel in a very new area on Hulhumale. I highly recommend staying at the Pine Lodge instead of Male if you are transiting to a resort.

Nice hotel, spotless room, helpful staff

After a few minutes of disorganized scrambling to get a room ready even though they knew when I would arrive, they were an excellent hotel and staff. Very helpful with MLE shuttle. The room was immaculate - it was easy to believe we were the first guests ever in the hotel. One could get the same impression from how helpful the staff were.

夜の22時にマーレ着だったので、一泊だけここに泊まり翌朝リゾートに向かいました。 空港へのお迎え時間調整でもメールの対応も良かった。空港では翌朝行くべきリゾートのカウンターの場所も案内してくれた。 事前に言われた通り往復空港送迎は大人二人で20ドル。 こじんまりとしたホテル、エレベーターは無いがホテルの人がカバンを上げてくれた。 フロント、お迎え、ドライバー、3人のスタッフと接したが感じも良かった。 部屋は木材を使った温もりのある雰囲気。 IKEAで調達した？小物が数点。 水回りはシャワーのみ、清掃状態はよく、お湯もちゃんと出る。 欠点と言えばベットがめちゃめちゃ固いこと。 マットレスなのに、質感は板の上に寝ているような感じ。 朝ごはんは食パン、ゆで卵、ビーンズ、ジャム、ジュース、一人ひとかけらのソーセージ。 ホテルは海側から一本内側の通りに建っている。 景色は望めない。 建設ラッシュなのか、周りは骨組みだけのビルばかり。 リゾートに行くまでの一泊だけなら十分なレベル。 欠点はただ一つ、固いベットのみ。

送迎お願いしてないのに、タクシー代高い値段言われたら、代わりに払って、そのまま20ドル請求されました
