We enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly, proactive and really helpful. We were surprised because this is absolutely beyond the normal German hotel standards 😙 The breakfast was excellent! Only thing we didn’t like so much was the room didn’t have A/C or fan and the room was really warm when we were there. We needed to shut the window in the middle of the night because of a thunderstorm and was bathing in our own sweat in the morning. So if we would re-visit this area again in summer, this hotel probably wouldn’t be our first choice. But all other details and services were really good!👍

Very quiet, breakfast was excellent, parking was a bit difficult.

the ONLY good thing about the hotel is its proximity to the train station, literally just a 5-min walk. but that's all. the hotel room lacks air con, which made it a bit stuffy. there was no water kettle nor drinking water provided. the linen used were quite old, as you can feel and see the holes on the bed sheet and pillow covers. at the price of EUR 100 a night? definitely not worth the price. i would at most pay EUR 50. for sure I won't be back.

Rather shabby

In addition to the lack of AC (not surprising outside of major cities in Germany but still dismaying and disappointing on one of the hottest days of the year) I was greeted by dirty carpets and a cockroach on the bed upon arrival.

ok, but improvements needed

A bit of a rollercoaster stay. Firstly, when I arrived I was told that I hadn't paid, but I had - on hotels.com. They took my card details and wrote them down on a piece of paper. Isn't that illegal due to GDPR?! Secondly, I went to my room, but I was actually given a key to a room with two people in it! Only to be laid on the bed sleeping! I also booked a city view room but I was facing directly at what can only be described as a block of flats. The bed was a little uncomfortable and I could constantly hear people walking up and down the corridor above. The bar area, food and service overall was good. The wifi is slow. I would say a little overpriced but the location is great - right by the train station.

I stayed 2 nights on a business trip to Kassel. I did breakfast both days but didn't stay for evening meal. Quick and efficient check-in. Comfortable room, nice to have a large bottle of water in the room. Good breakfast, got a little busy on the second day. Quick check-out. Grteat value via Hotels.com Recommended.

Good sleep

We came late and left late. Daughter was terribly tired and went directly to a couch in the foyer; receptionist smiled without being angry: Nice. Room is spacious and clean; breakfast too expensive for me. Didn't find any air conditioning; perhaps I was too tired. Location is great to visit Kassel Wilhelmshöhe. To get to downtown choose line 1,3 or 4, and within less then 15 minutes you in the city.

After staying at a previous Penta Hotel, it was great to stay at another one in the chain, with the same funky vibe and great downstairs reception/bar/restaurant. The one in Kassel is right next to the train station and just a walk or short tram ride from the beautiful Bergpark. Despite seeming very quiet on arrival, it must have been quite busy, as we couldn't check in early and there were no tables available for dinner without a reservation (just the couches). I must also give a special shoutout for the bed - so huge and comfortable!

Find an alternative

This hotel was one of the most expensive and worst hotels during my stay in Germany. The room has no fridge, aircon or things like coffee and tea making facilities. It was during Documenta, so things were rather full in the area. When I tried to check in I was told by the reception staff that I needed to pay for the room as there was no record of me paying through Wotif. After telling them I had already paid they didn't believe me and couldn't find my payment. The male staff member then kept trying to serve people behind me. They charged my credit card again, and after complaining, they then worked out that I had in fact paid already. I then had a large amount of money taken from my card and it took over one month for these funds to be available again. It's an average hotel with very average rooms. If that's what you're after then you will be happy here.

Would stay here again

The staff could have been a little friendlier, but overall I really liked the hotel concept -- and the 24-hour bar. The room was very comfortable. I'd stay at a Penta hotel again.

OK for the price

I stayed here for Documenta when it was quite hard to find a room in the city. The pluses about the hotel - the rooms are large, clean, and the beds extremely big and comfortable. The lounge areas are groovy and comfortable. While not especially close to the city centre, it is easy to get into the centre by tram c.3 mins from he front door. The hotel breakfast was OK, some good things (fresh fruit, some good pastries) but not up to high standards that I expect in many German hotels. The negatives - no air conditioning in the room, which was OK in mid-September but in the summer would be very problematic as the hotel overlooks the main train station. So there is a lot of noise at night. With some exceptions staff were pretty inattentive. When I arrived there was a problem with my Expedia booking. Rather than call my bank the woman on reception said that I wouldn't be allowed to stay unless I paid by cash. To my question of what I could do if I didn't have cash she suggested I would sleep rough (it was a nasty rainy night). Internet in the room was inconsistent. When I was unable to log onto Skype for a conference call I was given a different code: apparently logging on with the room no. taps into a weaker network. I wish they'd given me this when I checked in.Another receptionist seemed reluctant to provide me with info about Documenta. Only after I insisted did she poinetd to a map on the wall. When I said I couldn't take that with me she finally gave me a map.

Average and overpriced.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the staff tried to charge me again for the room, even though I had already paid through Wotif. The check-in staff didn't really know much and after he wrongly charged my card again and I asked him to fix it he told me that he would look at it later as there were other people waiting. This hotel inflates their prices dramatically for Documenta and and it really wasn't worth the price. Try staying in another town. After my experience here I don't think I'll return to Kassel.

Perfect base for visiting Documenta14 in Kassel.

Great location for exploring the exhibits scattered around Kassel. It's next to the Kassel Wilhelmshöhe train and bus stations, but you couldn't hear either. Very comfortable beds, nice room, good shower and bath with lots of hot water. Amazing breakfast buffet (not included in room rate but less if you book in advance). Cheerful and considerate service. Comfortable and un-fussy. Would stay there again.

The hotel, staff and everything were great. The breakfast was a little expensive as was parking (1€ per hour!!). But overall the hotel was clean nice and very new. It was also difficult to find with a GPS and we had to stop and get directions to find it.

"wanna be designer/ hip hotel"

PentaHotel Kassel is a "want to be" designer/ hip hotel near by the train station. It has some designer elements but it is falling apartment. My bathroom was rusty and shower heads were loose. The attendance was poor. The receptionist was also the bartender and they were not clear on understanding what to do.

Excellent decor and modern feel. Comfortable room, with a rain-style shower head. Paid extra for the enhanced Internet but it was not fast enough to stream Netflix.

This was convenient, but nothing special. The check out staff had limited English capability and we had a complicated issue that needed assistance.

Decent hotel with good staff but the charge for parking is annoying, however it's close to the station so I guess most people don't mind. No aircon in the rooms so avoid staying in the summer heat.

Funky little hotel

Room very cute and colorful. You check in at the bar as you walk in. Beds very good. No A/C and no safe so that is why I did not give it five overall. Food in the bar very good. Very close to the train station all long distance trains go from but fair distance from the centre of town. We figured we could walk but it was way too far. Take the tram. It's very easy. Beds are very good.

Basic hotel near train station

The hotel room was very clean and comfy. Heard that the hotel was recently renovated. The free wifi was fast as well. Too bad it don't serve breakfast. It is less than 5min walking distance from the train station which makes it accessible to eatery and some basic shopping.

Trendy but not worth it

Bad cost - benefit ratio, in other words too expensive small room and extra charge for Internet. Check in was at the bar area and the person checking me in seemed busy with other stuff and was not welcoming me at all. Other than that very trendy hotel but won't stay again...

not a 4 star hotel

While this is not a bad hotel, it is not 4 star and not worth the money. I had to pay extra for internet connection and had to buy coffee in the morning. That is not 4 star treatment. It snowed while I was there and they did not even shovel the walk in front to make it easier for clients pulling luggage. I was disappointed with what I got for the money. I couldn't even find the spa and my room key did not open the workout room, which was in a horrible closed basement.

My opinion as a senior traveller

They provide free access to blue movies but not free WiFi. In fact WiFi is expensive - Euro 5.50 a day. For me, Wifi is more imprtant than the garbage they offer. Otherwise the hotel is fine, good location.

Great Hotel for Documenta visit

Stayed in this hotel to visit the Documenta. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was comfy, modern and very pleasant. Recommended.

it's just behind the train station. we didn't need a/c but was strange that there is no a/c in the entire hotel. breakfast was satisfied.

Great stay

Everything about the stay was fine, except one caveat. Having booked the hotel through a booking site more than 2 months before, our preferences (non-smoking, room to the back obviously have not been noticed). I was able to sort it out with the front desk, but still this is something that should not happen. In most hotels you are greeted and at least the receptionist mentions your preferences and if they could comply. Apart from that, great location, close to the park and a short tram ride to the city.

We were very disappointed that we werent informed about the offer you had for tickets and staying two nights at your hotel if you visited the Documenta exhibition. There were no information on your website when we booked the room or from you when we got there.

Perfect for the short visit

This hotel is only a minute walk away from the ICE train station and all public transportation that takes you to the city centre in a few minutes. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice and - even though we are not a big fan of carpets - cosy. Breakfast was very good, too - they even had soy dessert.

A little bit disappointed.

The sauna and sport room were under repair. We couldn't use them. The WC was not smelling good. I think the ventilation was not running. We received a modular bed for our child but without a duvet cover. Only a blanket and a pillow with a dirty pillowcase. After my request they delivered clean bedlinen. But the location of the hotel is good.

Pentahotel Kassel

The Pentahotel Kassel is a standard 3 star hotel that includes all the required amenities (except air conditioning) - nice bar (with small billiards table) and lobby restaurant. The decor is cheesy European modern. It was clean and comfortable enough. On-site parking is convenient and reasonably priced. The staff, however, is below standard in the treatment we received. The front desk clerks ganged up on me upon check-in demanding a "voucher", which I did not have since I booked via iPhone. They finally got over it and handed over the room keys. In the morning, one member of our party enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Upon attempting to check out, the clerk argued with us for several minutes, insisting that more people had participated in breakfast. The conversation actually became heated, with her sticking her hand in my traveling companion's face before she stormed off to consult with her colleagues - several minutes later she returned and sullenly accepted payment for the one breakfast. If you find yourself in Kassel, Germany and want to stay at the Pentahotel, steel yourself.

Penta Equals Convenience

Needed to be in Kassel for a day and a half but not have to rent a car. Penta is next to Wilhelmshoe Hbrf and has convenient trolly service into Kassel proper. Hotel staff was young but very friendly and helpful. Room was quite small but adequate for only one night. Best to get a room on the back side of the building away from the station.

Will go back (for business purposes).

We have used this hotel many times before when traveling to Kassel on business. Friendly young staff, good (but pricey) breakfast and the superb La Galleria Italian restaurant nearby is a big PLUS for us. This time, the housekeeping was a bit sloppy, but the missing items were brought to our room within 5 minutes.

Close to train and bus stations

The room was stylish, comfortable, quiet, and spatious. (My room was double the size of the standard room which was unavailable when I made reservations.) Close proximity to the train and bus stations was a major advantage for me. Menu selections were limited, but food was very good. The very amble breakfast was not included. The free computer was difficult to use and needed constant staff intervention. WIFI was not free.

Das Hotel ist meiner Meinung nach in die Jahre gekommen. Das Zimmer war sauber, das Bett war bequem, was man von den Stühlen nicht sagen kann. Aufgrund der Philosophie des Hotels wurden die Zimmer an den drei Tagen vor Ort nicht gereinigt. Gern wird das als nachhaltig verkauft, Hat aber nur kaufmännischen Hintergrund. Der Service war für ein solches Hotel eher schlecht. Abends mussten wir 30 Minuten warten, bis Man bedient wurde. Schon bei der Anreise Musste ich zweimal mitteilen, dass das Tor von der Tiefgarage nicht aufgeht. Erst dann hat man sich Aufgemacht, dies zu kontrollieren. Meines Erachtens ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in keiner Relationen. Der Tagessatz für die Tiefgarage ist mit 20 € und das Frühstück mit 23 €. Schon happig.

Gut gelegenes Stadthotel

Die Zimmer waren sauber, die Betten bequem und das Frühstück vollkommen okay. Die Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage sehr eng und dazu noch überteuert. Das Badezimmer hat auch schon mal bessere Zeiten erlebt. Das Hotel ist gut gelegen und man hat Alles gut erreichen können.

Arrived In time for a Quick dinner and a sleep en route. No restaurant as advertised (closed on Sundays). No aircondition, soft beds. Parking paid separately (12€)

Wasserdruck beim Duschen war zu niedrig. Einrichtung abgenutzt. Kein Kleiderschrank, nur ein Regal. Personal sehr freundlich. Frühstücksbuffet war gut.

Schwaches Preis-leistungsverhältnis. 30 Jahre alt. Abgewohnt. Sauber: ja! Alter Teppich. Scheckige Wände. Alte Zimmer innentüren. Frühstück: Geschirr total alt und verkratzt. 20.000 mal benutzt. Auswahl ok. 1 Kaffeemaschine. Schlange stehen. Komme nicht wieder.

Lobby war schön, 4. Stock hat gestunken. Das Zimmer hat gestunken, ich hatte ein dreckiges Handtuch, Waschbecken war nicht sauber und insgesamt hat man gesehen dass nicht oder nicht ordentlich geputzt wurde. Frühstück wurde nicht aufgefüllt. Es war nur eine Person für alles zuständig obwohl es sehr voll war. Dadurch waren Tische abgeräumt aber nicht abgeputzt.

Gute Lage neben Bahnhof und nicht zu weit vom Kongress Halle. Restaurant im Hotel gut und praktisch. Betten sehr bequem. Allerdings Sauberkeit Solala und generell etwa Renovierungsbedürftig. Aber für 2-3 Tagen vollkommen in Ordnung.

Das Zimmer war sehr ruhig mit einem bequemen Bett. Leider war es eiskalt, als ich ankam (mitten im November Heizung abgestellt), und es dauerte drei Stunden, bis die kleine Heizung den relativ großen Raum halbwegs erwärmt hatte. Sehr leckere ofenwarme Brötchen beim Frühstück, aber faden Automatenkaffee dazu. Empfang war etwas unpersönliche Serienabfertigung. Das Badezimmer war sauber. Das Hotel ist sehr günstig gelegen mit dem Bahnhof bloß 100m entfernt und vielen Geschäften in unmittelbarer Nähe. Gesamtwertung: geht so, kleine Punktabzüge.

Leider kann ich den Aufenthalt hier keinesfalls als positiv werten. Zwar war der Check-In und Check-out (im frühen Morgen) problemlos und das Personal jederzeit höflich und hilfsbereit, alles andere empfand ich allerdings als schlimm. Das Zimmer selber verfügte über Einrichtung und Bad, welches die besten Tage bereits hinter sich hatte. Gereinigt wurde dort anscheinend auch eine Weile nicht mehr gründlich. An den Wänden, Möbelstücken und auf dem Boden waren überall Flecken zu finden. Lediglich das Bett schien sauber, so genau wollte ich dort aber auch gar nicht nachsehen. In der einen Nacht, die ich dort verbringen musste war bei dem Gedanken des Drecks und der Hellhörigkeit der Wände schlafen jedoch kaum möglich. Ich hoffe der Zustand des Zimmers war eine Ausnahme und ich einfach nur Pech dieses bekommen zu haben

Es war ein super Aufenthalt ich kann das hotel bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Im Großen und Ganzen Zufrieden. Schön Wäe gewesen wenn man nach 1 Uhr noch in der Lobby Bar etwas hätte Trinken können. Laut Internet Präsenz ist diese 24 Stunden Geöffnet war aber Nachts geschlossen laut Auskunft des dort Anwesenden Mitarbeiters .Übernachtung 26.08.2023.Schade.Man wurde auf den SB,Getränke Autmaten Verwiesen.

Super mitarbeiter,freundlich aufmerksam.lockere atmosphäre. Sehr verkehrsgünstig gelegen im zentrum und am ice nbahnhof.einrichtung wie z.b. verdunkelungsvorhänge müssen ausgerauscht werden.

Gute Verkehrsanbindung mit öffentlichem Nahverkehr. Das Horwl ist sauber und ordentlich, kann aber bald mal eine Tenovierung brauchen.

Sehr freundliches Personal, zu Fuß vom ICE Bahnhof zu erreichen.

Überraschenderweise war hatte das Zimmer zwei recht große Betten, aber leider keinen Kühlschrank/Minibar.Das hatten wir schon lange nicht mehr Das Parkhaus ist sehr eng. Das Frühstücksbuffet wurde sehr langsam nachgelegt. Gute Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr.

Wie kamen sehr spät an. Dennoch wurde uns der sündhaft so angenehm wie möglich gemacht. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß , sauber und das Bett sehr bequem . Die Lage zum Bahnhof stellt gerade für Durchreisende einen sehr guten Anlaufpunkt dar. Das Staff ist sehr freundlich. Lediglich die Kosten eines Frühstücks von 18 Euro finde ich unangebracht.

Bewusste Täuschung

Bei dem Hotel handelt sich um eine bewusste Täuschung. Die Fotos, die auf der Seite eingegeben sind, sind veraltet. Die Fotos wurden wahrscheinlich gemacht als das Hotel gebaut wurde oder saniert wurde. Die Fotos entsprechen nicht der Realität, was den Eigentümern des Hotels sicherlich bewusst ist. In dem Zimmer roch komisch, überall merkte man die Spuren der Abnutzung. Wir haben uns unentschieden, in dem Hotel zu übernachten, weil die Fotos auf ein modernes sauberes neues Hotel hingedeutet haben. Vor Ort waren wir total enttäuscht. Es war gar nicht sauber, wir haben und total unwohl gefühlt und vor allem betrogen. Wie gesagt, das Hotel durch die Online-Fotos täuscht bewusst die potenziell Gäste. Die Fotos suggerieren, dass das Hotel richtig super und modern und vor allem sauber ist. Leider dies entspricht der Realität nicht. Ferner die Mitarbeiter waren nicht wirklich kompetent. Keine Begrüßung, kein Aufwiedersehen, keine Rückfrage nach dem Aufenthalt. Nichts

Et helt OK hotell, men ikke sikker paa om det er verdt 4 stjerner. Dette er et hotell for de som vi ut aa se og vaere borte fra stedet mesteparten av dagen. Sengen var veldig stor og behagelig og var et skikkelig pluss. Betjeningen var OK-. Det manglet en fjernkontroll paa rommet. Da vi ba om dette, fikk vi melding om at dette skulle ordnes straks, men noen fjernkontroll kom aldri. Da vi igjen purret til betjeningen fikk vi en fjernkontroll som ikke virket.

Insgesamt gut, freundlich und preiswert.

Allerdings wurde trotz Angabe des Alters des Kinds (10 Jahre) ein Baby-Zustellbett bereitgestellt. Da es aber ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit Croissants gab, war das Kind mehr als versöhnt.

Selve hotellet var super fint. Personalet er ikke så gode til engelsk, men man kan gøre sig forstående. Måden vi blev taget imod på var lidt skuffende. Han mente ikke at min betaling var gået igennem ( hvilket den var) og han ville have jeg skulle give mit dankort for at han kunne trækker beløbet endnu en gang :-// da han fandt fejlen, sagde han ikke “undskyld” eller lign. Blot hov, jeg kan se du taler sandt.

Das Personal ist super freundlich, erfüllt jeden Wunsch - einfach perfekt! Das Zimmer war, wie gewünscht, absolut ruhig! Erholung war garantiert! Das Frühstück glänzte mit frischem Obst und es wurde alles dauernd nachgefüllt! Die Spiegeleier sind auf den Punkt genau gebraten! Auf Wunsch wurde das Fitness für 1 Person reserviert, was super ist zu Corona-Zeiten! Dadurch kann man ungestört trainieren! Die Lage zum Bahnhof ist ideal - fußläufig zu erreichen!

Das Einschecken hat leider nicht geklappt. Wir hatten 4 Zimmer für 8 Nächte reserviert und sind in 3 Gruppen angereist. Man wollte meine Mitarbeiter nicht ohne Kreditkarte ins Zimmer einlassen, obwohl diese bereits über Hotel.Com durch meine Kreditkarte garantiert waren. Selbst ein Reklamationsanruf bei der Zentale brachte keinen Erfolg. Wir hatten das Hotel ausgewählt, weil eine kleine Karte angeboten wurde. Obwohl diese Speisen bereits ausverkauft waren, hat man uns nicht gestattet einen Außer Haus Service in Anspruch zu nehmen.

Ligger lige ved siden af banegården, men kun meget lidt togstøj. Lidt besværligt at komme til hvis du kommer fra motorvej A7 ( ca 25 min:) Alt i alt fint hotel med de faciliteter der skal være God sikker parkeringskælder der dog koster 13 euro pr nat, ellers gratis parkering på gaden.

Die unmittelbare Nähe zum Bahnhof verkürzt Wege, ist dadurch aber keine ruhige Lage.

Schönes Hotel mit Sauna, Fitnessraum, Bar und Billardtisch. Das Zimmer war schön, das Bett gemütlich. Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt!
