Room was in another building. Breakfast is served in a restaurant and it's ok. Not much variety. The room was clean but bed was awful. Super discomfortable, like sleeping on the floor. The toilet needed some repairs Ok to sleep for 1 night if the price is around 40/50 eur per night. Location is good
Good location
Good value for money. Very close to the city center.
Great value for the price. Room was as pictured, minimal but clean and functioning. Floors need a deep clean. Cute backyard patio overlooking the courtyard. Staff was very helpful.
Everything was fine, but the description said that parking is available all but it didn’t say that you have to pay for it. Therefore the price of the stay was really high.
Good location - 5 minute walk from tram stop and Lidl. Room and bathroom was clean. Staff were friendly. 4* for facilities as no elevator and shower got cold after about 7 minutes of running. Apart from that, no issues. Great stay and good value for money.
in interesting part of Prague
Neat and tidy
Small clean garrett room. 4th floor walk up. Mini fridge. Quiet place and I actually had a great view of the sunset from my ceiling window things that opened. AC wasn't activated yet, but they gave me a fan and it cooled off a lot once I figured out how to open the ceiling windows.
Awesome property! The only thing I would add to the room is a table and chair(s) in the entrance aside from That it was the perfect introduction to a wonderful city!!!
First night my room was in other building and very uncomfortable, broken closet and very thin short small curtain didn’t covered the windows. Very noisy from inside building and street till 3:30 am, not isolated windows or walls. No shared fridge and microwave as describe in listing. I complained and they changed my room, new room in main building had broken shower and water splashed everywhere in bathroom till the bed side. A gentleman came and fixed but just hand shower. Free Breakfast on my booking was very small portion and just 9-10 am! No buffet no choice! I couldn’t catch up the breakfast at second day since I should leave at 8 am for airport with no breakfast! Stuff in reservation wasn’t friendly except the handyman how fixed the shower and helped me with my mobile problem. Not recommended and not go back there anymore.
The room forniture was extremely poor, old ruined. Bathroom very small and sink unpraticable
I really enjoyed my stay, the hotel is a 15 minute drive from the downtown square and this was a very affordable room. There was also a fan provided in the room which was very nice to have.
So-So in Every Way
Air conditioner didn't work very well and room temperature stayed around 32C even at night which was very uncomfortable. At least there was a fan. Also, there was no elevator so plan on doing a lot of walking up and down stairs. Beds were just OK, not super comfortable, but clean. Television signal was very spotty, not many channels, too small and mounted in a very awkward place for watching. Shower was actually very nice and clean, and so was the fridge, which was a nice bonus to have. Would (maybe) stay here again but at a cooler time of year. All in all, it wasn't good or bad. I could recommend this place, albeit with some reservations. Probably best for students/young folks looking for affordable accommodation.
The property was set out in all the surrounding streets and it was difficult to get to with all your bags. The locks were very hard to open and had to be pulled in a certain way to open them. We were told there were no lifts but not to worry we were on the first floor. However upon arriving at the property we realised the first floor was up two flights of stairs this was very difficult for my elderly mother. However as we couldn’t open the door the receptionist did carry her bag up which was lovely. Breakfast was not a buffet but a plate of food but they didn’t ask you for any dietary requirements and everyone just got the same food. Breakfast was not worth it in my opinion.
Good bargain
Beds were a little hard, but place was clean and tidy, which all that mattered
Not recommended
The pension has no lift and I was put on 4th floor luckily The receptionist carried my suitcase up the stairs … not for the faint hearted … room for was basic kid’s wardrobe and bed plus it was not 15 minutes from wensalas Sq as is advertised maybe in a taxis not walking
Excellent
Recommend to everyone
Disappointing
We had to pay for a later check-in, the electricity and lights went off our first night and people were really loud and drunk during the night.
It was definitely okay for a short budget stay, as the price was lower than other places in the same area. However, cleanliness was definitely lacking in the room, the glass provided was dirty, I found a silverfish in the bathroom on the floor, the floors were very dusty, the curtains were hardly hanging by threads in front of the windows, and the room still smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room.
pleasant staying
We had amazing stay during our three day trip to Prague in Christmas. We were bit skeptical about the room conditions by the reviews we read before but our stay was pleasant and no complaints. It was kind of one bedroom apartment , the bedroom was quite big. We had one queen bed and one twin bed in the bed room. There was a Small nicely decorated living room as well with sitting arrangement. Bathroom was clean and spacious too. They also have late night check in (we arrived after 11 pm), the hotel is very near to the tram stop -only 500 meters walking. There’s plenty budget cafe and restaurants nearby including mexican, Mediterranean, Chinese and vietnaese cuisine. The old town is about 25 minutes walking distance. Tram service connects to airport lines.
Room was very cold and the single electrical heat generator was not sufficient to provide adequate heating throughout the night. Overnight low was only -2 degrees Celsius!
The rooms were located in another block of building, ~25m from the reception building. Room was clean with good wifi. Reception staff was helpful and friendly. The location was quiet and safe to walk at night. Few pubs and restaurants within ~10 mins on foot. Both Praha Hlavní Nádraží and Praha Florenc bus terminal can be reach on foot within ~30 mins, National Monument on Vítkov not far from the hotel offers very good city view, ~30 mins walk. Most historic places of interest Old Town Hall, St. Vitus Cathedral, Saint Peter and Paul Basilica were 45~90 mins on foot.
EXTREMELY OVERPRICED, AND DISAPPOINTED
Basically a hostel, charging Hotel prices. Just a bed and a table, extremely basic and disappointing. Tv didn't work, and when I queried this, was told I was last room to be updated, so they KNOWINGLY put me in a room with a TV that didn't work. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND.
Good overall
It won't wow you, but it does the basics right with minimal fuss. Considering the price you can't go wrong.
Top floor room was a little warm but they had a small air conditioning unit.
When we arrived on our first day the receptionist who received us was unfriendly. He was more focused on the computer rather than giving us information about our stay. However, on our second day the receptionist on duty was so friendly.
Very clean and uptodate. Accomodates your needs. 24 hours desk servkce
Cant fault the place for the price we paid. Location is close to the main areas and is also close to the trainstation which also has the airport shuttle bus. Two great little places close by which is a cocktail bar and a pub accross the street. Both is filled with locals and tourists. Zizkov area really treated me well !
Definitely don’t stay here
Most unhelpful and unfriendly receptionist of all time. So rude. Don’t stay if you have luggage or elderly as we stayed on the 5th floor and there is no lift. No soap anywhere in the bathroom. No kettle. Walls are thin. Very noisy. Louis of drunk people yelling all night.
loud nights
We know this area, its very nice and close to down town, so we came back to it, its walking distance to downtown as well. Kind and English speaking staff, room was clean and looked ok, but room was fairly small compared to standard big hotel rooms in Prague. The hotel is divided into 3 buildings, which is ok, but our part was in a building where some kind of machine / washing machine / vacuum was being loud all night (both nights we stayed). With windows closed it was too hot to sleep, with windows open it was too loud to sleep. Wont recommend if you like your sleep, however this might not be the case in the 2 other locations, who knows
Don't stay here mis advertised
Not as advertised. Very disappointed.
terrible
worst customer service ever. do not stay here!!
We found it easily. The staff was really helpful. They also gave us a fan just in case we're hot. It's in a great and quiet vicinity with cheap and nice places to eat, normal or fast food. About 20 minutes far on foot to the old town center. Everything was clean. We recommend it for sure!
Bad hotel rooms amd unfriendly staff
The room was not good with twin neds far from each other. We booked a double bed room and the staff didn't want to change us into a double bed room. Furthermore, they don't change the towels and bedsheets for short stay (less than 3 nights) as per the policy. The area of the hotel is in a hill after the train station and it doesn't look safe.
The beds have very thin mattresses, like what you would find in a dorm room. Also, because it's near a couple of bars, it is very loud at night. I was OK because I could put in earplugs but my Mum, who can not do that, didn't sleep well the entire time we were there. I think this would be a good place for students or backpackers but had I known that from the start, I would have booked elsewhere.
Nearly in the centre close to public transport. Room was clean but rubbish wasn't taken for three days. The room didn't look like those rooms on the pictures. The room was in another building "U Hejtmana" (part of the Pension Prague City), luckily just round the corner of main reception building. That should have been mentioned in description. In the description there was information on city tax 15 CZK per person per night. When we arrived there was double price to pay and now I can see the price is shown correctly on the Expedia. On Saturday night very loud noise from around people partying and enjoying their selves loudly..
Comfortable stay
Comfortable stay for a singlw person. I was recovering from surgery here and it was nice and quiet
I liked the price, I did not like the fact that it was on a steep hill and that there was several flights of stairs to climb to get to the room.
Really basic accommodation for the price was quite disappointed thought hotel would be better as it had 3 stars but worth 2 stars, hotel was clean enough to stay with our child. Beds were very uncomfortable and pillows was horrible to sleep on. Over all we really enjoyed Prague but would not stay there again. I think it is more suitable for younger travellers on a budget.
THE HOTEL WAS A FAIR PRICE FOR THE MONEY. THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY.THE HOTEL WAS ONLY 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE CENTRE,WHICH WAS PRETTY GOOD. BREAKFAST WAS GOOD VALUE. MY ONLY CRITICISM WAS THEIR WAS A LOT OF NOISY GUESTS IN THE HOTEL AND THE MAIN ROAD WAS NOISY WITH LOUD PEOPLE TOO. I NEVER HAD A GOOD SLEEP THE WHOLE TIME I WAS THERE
Good location for the price (budget). I was given a room on the fifth floor, which was nice and relatively quiet but there was one problem - no lifts! If you are unfit or have a lot of luggage it may be worth contacting the hotel beforehand to make sure you get a room on the lower floors. Also when I arrived late at the reception, the receptionist was snogging her boyfirend on the couch - they both jumped out of the couch as I entered recption, which I though was rather an unprofessional thing to do.
Excellent breakfast
Excellent breakfast. Small but adequate room. Fairly close to the station.
Okay place, as described; good value for money
Room was okay, as described; beds were a bit tough and not very comfortable so I wish they could be improved. But overall good value for money considering the competition
very good, cheap and cool area
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it's in a cool area, surrounded by cheap cafes, bars and restaurants.
Donot pay in advance for booking Hotel
Not able to stay as BMW car are not allow to be drive in, do not pay first as they will not refund even you give them advance acknowledge wherereas Agoda give refund if you cannot make it.
This is what you can get at this low price. If you are going with kids, do try to request for a lower-floor room, as the hotel can go up to 5 levels without elevator. Wifi is not working very well. It is possible that you are staying in a block which is different from the check-in desk, thought it's not so far away from it. There are different types of restaurants around the area, Chinese, Korean, Cafe, Pizza and many bars. Beware!! !! When you are staying there during the weekend, you will risk hearing the people on the street talking and laughing all night until 4a.m. !! !! When there is vehicle passing through the street, its sound is extremely loud.
A nice place in general, but we got a room in the attic which was not equipped for the hot Prague weather. Air conditioning did not work and the staff failed to fix it. A second fan was a bit of a help, but hardly enough on hot days.
It’ll do in a pinch...
Beds were very stiff. Low ceilings with sharp edges over the beds so we all hit our heads. Shower would go from extremely hot to ice cold every few seconds. Cleaning service is only every 3 days. And no lift which was crappy because we were on the 6th floor. The gentleman who checked us in was very polite at least...
This hotel was a good place to sleep, and that’s about all. Good if you want to spend less money when you’re exploring Prague for most of the day. Male receptionist was rude, female was lovely! We were aware that bed sheets would be changed every 3 days, however nobody came in to clean anything in our room during our 5 day stay. The bin overflowed, the shower smelled damp, and the floor became very dirty. No extra toilet paper was given to us, although we were lucky enough to find some in a corridor to use. We were in a different building to the reception, on the highest floor. There is no lift so this hotel is not very accessible for those with disabilities. The rooms on the top floor were extremely hot, and the air conditioning just pumped warm air around the room. People were very noisy during the silent hours as we heard shouting and loud music between 11pm and 8am. The television was also programmed in German for some reason, and we were not given a remote to change the language. The ‘tea and coffee making facilities’ are just a kettle, and no mugs, tea or coffee are given. You have to use glass tumblers if you want a drink. The taxis for our arrival and departure were both late. The best thing about this hotel is it’s location. Very close to tram lines and the train station. Nice places to eat just a minutes walk away such as Pizzeria Einstein. Great cocktail bars called Tiky Taky and Ananas Bananas. This hotel is only good for getting some sleep.
We were put into a different building to the actual hotel. Told room was on the 5th floor. What we weren't told was there was no lift!!!!! That vital information would have been more helpful.
Prague pension
30 minutes walk to Old Town, mostly uphill on return.
Pension check-in
Quick check-in, and near to loacl facilities, Tesco express nearby. Tram route 5 mins.
Uncomfortable beds
The beds were very uncomfortable and duvets thin... bathroom was clean and modern but room itself was not very nice. The hotel is a little way out of the city centre but accessible by 3 different trams that are very frequent so that was okay. Would not recommend the breakfast.
Room wasn’t cleaned over the duration of my 4 night stay. Staff were rude and lacked all sense of urgency. Had to hold shower over my head (when it actually worked!!) . Definitely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in
The only nice thing about the hotel was the comfy beds and the guy at Reception on my last night. Everything is was awful. As we checked in, the girl ignored us for a while, gave us the room key and then told us no other information. We climbed all of the stairs to discover our rooms weren't even in the same building and the receptionist at that time didn't have the courtesy to tell us. We went back to ask and she started a conversation with someone else whilst in the middle of telling us and then did not give us any information regarding towels, cleaning or even breakfast! Shocking. Arrived as a group to discover a single person had been placed by themselves in another building in the basement room - doesn't seem the safest. In another of our rooms the shower didn't work, reported this to reception and nothing was done the entire time. This was a 5 day trip. In the whole time we were there our room was cleaned on the last day, the other people in our group didn't have their rooms cleaned at all so no fresh towels or bedding during the entire stay despite complaints. The location is good for getting places but that is the only plus side of this hotel. It isn't even worth a place to sleep. Had a problem with the key on the last night and the gentlemen on the reception was the only redeemable quality about this hotel, polite, helpful and a nice guy! Otherwise AVOID.
It was a decent hotel close to streetcars. The breakfast was okay, room size was good, but the hot water ran out after like a 10 minute shower.
Nice, cheap hotel
You get what you pay for. We paid £8 a night. For the price it was fantastic - clean room, clean towels, clean bathroom. No complaints at all and we enjoyed our stay.
Quite easy to get to and it is quite decent stay.
The room was Ok for few days. They have 3 different buildings and the one we stayded don't have lift. It was quite tough carrying the luggages.
Nice city centre hotel. Cheap, clean & spacous.
Really can't complain. Provided everything we needed. Perfect for our group of 4 that went. Excellent convenience store across the road that sorted our hangovers every morning too. 9/10.
Bad Service
The service was not that great. They did not change the sheets for the days we were there. No a.c. It should be a 1 star. Not a 3 star hotel. it is misleading.
Clean, comfortable stay
Pension Prague City is a comfortable hotel in an area that is close to public transit, the main bus station, and lots of cute and unique restaurants. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and clean, and the hotel is quiet and well-maintained. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again!
What you'd expect for the price
Good value for money. Nothing special but it has everything necessary. Although bed sheets were not changed during the week we stayed. Tea and coffee facility is only a kettle. Good fan in room to keep cool in the hot weather. Small shop across the road for necessities such as water or snacks. The hotel is very close to tram stops and there are food places and local pubs near by.
Cheap and cheerful
Hotel was ok. Location was good. Walkable distance to main attractions. However the whole time we stayed (6 days and 5 nights) not once was the room cleaned, bed sheets or towels changed. Our air conditioning broke down on day 2 of our stay. They hotel staff said a technician would come and fix it the next day. Noone came, even after we asked the staff a 2nd time. To the day we left, the air conditioning remained unfixed. They did however give us a fan which did the job - again we had to request it again from the staff as the staff who told us that they would give us one forgot to tell anyone. Apart fron the above the hotel was fine. In this instance you definately get what you paid for.
Not here
Is a hostel and not a hotel. Area is unsafe and run down. We left a day early because we felt unsafe. Hotel.com needs to review this hotel.
Clean and basic easy link to town and rail station
For the price the room was very good value, the beds were comfortable but and the room clean and tidy with a good sized shower room and toilet there was a heater and air conditioner in the room. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful there were two computers for using the internet in the lobby and wifi on the top floor was reasonably good. The hotel is about 3 minutes walk from the number 9 or 15 tram which takes 10 minutes to get into the old town, and is about 20 minutes from the national monument and museum. The main train station is about a 15 minute walk away or 2 stops on the tram. The TV in one room had no remote control and could only pick up two radio channels but we did not bother to ask for one as we only found this out on the morning we were leaving
a part of my expedia arrangement
convenient, close to where I needed to be a very quiet street, it was just what I needed - on the first floor the internet worked only sporadically but I was offered to move to another floor, but I declined, it was not worth it tv is so small that you cannot really see it and it had only one channel but overall I will come back
Bad service
Reception service very bad. Not enough heat. No room service. Too expensive compare to price & service. Please dont stay here.
Clean, basic.
I chose this hotel for a short stay as it is just round the corner from a friend's house in the Zizkov area of Prague. The room was clean but basic, the bed was comfortable and the shower good. The WiFi was free, stable and speedy compared to most hotels There are plenty of cheap pubs and restaurants close by. Trams to the centre stop just around the corner or if like me you prefer to walk the Old Town is about 25 minutes, but make sure you bring strong soled shoes or the cobbles will get you.The hotel represented good value for money and was what I expected. You should note there are plenty of hotels with similar rooms at similar prices in this area.
Good price for backpackers
Fairly accessible that the room was located on the sixth floor and the building didn't got a lift. Staff was nice and helpful.
Stag do venue
If I wasn't on a stag do I would of walked straight back out the door!!
Short business trip in Prague
We needed an affordable but comfortable and clean accomodation in Prague center and we absolutely found it at the Pension Prague city. It was not the easiest, though to arrange changes as I never managed to talk to the same receptionist. Overall I recommend the place if you need a simple, but comfortable accomodation (price, furniture, public transport, breakfast are all great)
Affordable accomodation, interesting neighbourhood
Bathroom was recently renovated I think, so quite good, of course not very large. The bed was reasonably comfortable. Room not cold at night in October but 2 electric oil heaters were provided, unfortunately one of the power points didn't work. Would be great if the TV was larger and better positioned, also if the wooden chairs in the room had some padding. Best thing was found a great cafe nearby Cafe Pavlac that did good coffees and food.
Simple and clean and quiet
The location wasn't as central as I had imagined but you could walk from the hostel to the main square in about 1/2 hour if you don't stop and take photos as I did. There is a small grocery across the street for snacks (or beer or wine) and some bars and cafes within a couple of blocks. Breakfast is served at the restaurant next door. The staff were very helpful with directions and help booking taxis and buses and trains.
Decent budget hotel
This was a great budget hotel. Bathroom was a bit dirty but sheets and towels clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Non-caustic Good
The room cleaning not good but The staff was friendly. and Location was good.
A nice basic hotel in a quiet and interesting area
I arrived in the early hours of the morning having walked through the new town of Prague and past the TV tower, staff were at reception when I arrived at 2 am and I found the room to be clean and tidy. Just about right for me and inexpensive. Breakfast for me was extra but it was in a cafe next door where they were playing various Parisian music from the 40's.
Good basic hotel.
Good basic hotel. 5 minutes from team stop. Good breakfast. Wifi good. Clean.
Veey dirty
The room was not so clean when we check-in. The shower curtain was dirty and the drain of rhe shower bathroon was clogged so water was stucked on rhe floor.
Not a hostel, a hotel.
When initially booking this we thought it was supposed to be a hostel, but were greeted by somewhere in between a hostel and a hotel. Our room had a decent en suite and we had four single beds instead of what we thought would be bunks. Our plane arrived late and our transfer was non-existent (thanks, Expedia) - so we ended up getting to our hotel at around 5:30 in the morning. The staff were there and ready to check us in even at this silly hour. Thanks for a great stay.
Rooms not what is on pic, rude stuff
We never stayed at the hotel. They gave us room which looked completely different from the pictures. Asked the stuff if we can change the room. The stuff was very rude and did not want to change our room. We wanted our money back as we did not want to stay there but they were very rude and didnt want to help us in any way.
Nice budget hotel
Hotel is in a good location, close by to the trams which lead into the city centre (only 3 stops to old town square.) Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was basic and a little small, however very clean and tidy, so considering we only used our room to sleep, this was fine. 24 reception with a small drinks shop and access to modern computers was a plus.
Best place to stay in prague
Excellent very chap but very nice hotel . Stayed 6 nights was pleases to be away from main area . Tescos 5 minutes walk . Vegan restaurant 5 minutes . Restaurants much cheaper than those on main centre. A lovely place to stay . Check in man very helpful gave me a room on lower level .
economical stay
Ceertainly not expensive at winter rates and for one person the room was a good size
Quirky hotel in Zizkov
Stayed here during New Year. The room was big and comfortable, and we had a good view of the fireworks from the attic window. The place is a bit shabby (although some might say romantic), but a good value. We explored Zizkov: an interesting, historically working-class neighborhood. Every restaurant and bar we checked out nearby was excellent, and cheaper than in the center.
Good hotel to stop by Praha
Acceptable room for the price you pay, it was equipped with just the essentials. Perfect for a quick stay in Prague. It is a little bit far away from the city center but it is close to a tram station which gets you there in a couple of minutes.
not bad
The room was at roof room and terrible to go up 123 straits without left. The receptions were nice. There are three kind buildings that they settle guests. The shower has problem. It was nice just for 2 days.
Decently priced near center of town
Nice size room, very clean, bed was comfortable. We walked to the center of town which took us about 20-30 minutes. Not a difficult walk at all. There are some nice, decently priced restaurants in the area as well. Our only complaint is that the room was located on the ground floor - no big deal usually - but there were no blockout curtains, just a sheer curtain meaning people walking by could see into the room. The heaters provided also didn't work great, but overall we enjoyed the stay and it was good for the price we paid.
Great place to stay
Everything was kept very clean and the service was outstanding.
Nice hotel with great location
Good deal for the price. I was very pleased with overall experience.
Weekend stay
Room was clean, bed well made and everything in the room functional. Quiet at night and comfortable bed meant could get a good night sleep. The location could be nicer but it's great value for the quality of the room.
Cheap
Cheap place and acceptable quality.
The reception was great, it seems rare to have a 24-hr reception in our travels, so this was a nice change. It is a short tram ride to Stare Metro, and not too far from the train station. Wifi was spotty at times, our room and bedding had the scent of cigarettes in them that I think just is a given in Prague. Otherwise, it served our needs.
Bad area, but worth it for the money.
Hotel front desk, which seemed to be manned by the owners son (?) was slightly confused when I handed him my non EU passport to get my details. They weren't able to provide either of the two options we requested, a bathtub (understandable, we weren't holding our breathes for that) but the thing that was annoying was that we were given two single beds, when single beds were never even an option when booking the room. The neighbourhood was a backpacking/hostel area, with lots of pubs and bars in the surrounding streets. Definitely one of the worst areas we visited in Prague. The room was clean however, and the bathroom was excellent, newly renovated. Overall, considering the quality and the great price, I would definitely recommend this hotel for people who are looking for a good deal.
Americans in Europe
Good service, good location. We were able to park our car in a protected area and staff helped us park and helped us get the car when we left.
Very good just many bugs if you open the windows
The single room I stayed on the ground floor was very nice and clean. The friendly staff lent me a kettle to boil water. The only problem was the bugs. I opened a bit of the windows, but the second night a lot of flying bugs sticked on the wall. And worst of all, a medium-sized spider came onto one of the beds without notice. Maybe it would be better to keep all the windows closed.
Great place to visit
Amazing city great architecture and friendly people. The area were the hotel is located has a lot of shops, restaurants and bars.
not bad
tidy and clean but not really a convenient location.
Overall I am with the stay given at this economic price. Location is ok, walking distance to most tourist spots (20-30 mins) and is near to florenc station which can take transport to kg town.
Dump
Photos totally misleading actual hotel rooms on the next street, No lifts, 21 steps between each landing, Tv ancient and did not work, Receptionist indifferent.

Good location, administration could be more attentive
