The room had a great set up, a sitting area, small kitchen area with fridge & microwave, dishes, pots and pans and a table with 2 chairs so you could sit down and eat. The only suggestion I would have is to change the pillows, the ones there are pretty flat. We really enjoyed our stay.
My favourite motel to stay in when I am passing through the area. Clean, quiet and convenient from Hwy 1.
Easy for traveler's looking for a nice easy stay and back on the highway in the morning. Perfect. Nothing fancy. Just what ya need.
Convenient little spot. Clean.
Staff are helpful and efficient
Good value with comfortable beds and a lovely tub for a soak. Convenient location.
Quiet
Staff is friendly and forthcoming, but the facility itself need much of improvement. The carpet is old and certainly needs a replacement. I would suggest linoleum instead - easy to clean, natural, doesn't break the bank. Laminate is another option. A/C is noisy and very low efficiency at the same time. All these placers use tons of polyester (curtains, bed sheets and blankets). This one is no exception. I don't care much - I always bring my own cotton bedding for the occasion. Its tolerable for one night, but don't put your expectations above average. I experienced much better motels from this category.
Nice location, good staff (check in was efficient)
Property was very cute and cozy. We were a bit worried about staying in a motel in Chase but were pleasantly surprised. Family managing it is very nice and the rooms were spotless. It is a bit dated and next to the railway (bit noisy at times) but overall we had a great stay!
Quiet, clean, pleasant proprietors. Two large old weeping willows and a gazebo added to the surroundings.
Beautiful landscape, room was clean and comfortable. Quiet area. Was a great experience
If this was a $50-75/ night hotel the review might be different. But for $165 I was very displeased. Our room reeked of Febreeze upon arrival - we opened the window and doors for 30 mins and it was still unbearable and there was no working fan, so we slept in the parking lot in our vehicle. The bedding was also fairly stained and had a hair on it.
This is a very basic motel. Limited dining options in town. Plenty of wooden benches on the premise that allow customers to have a picnic outside. The pagoda-like structure on the property looks nice.
Rail road was just meters away and constantly making noises. if you are a light sleeper you can't sleep. Also, the bed lines had very strong fabric softener scents. Should be scents free for the lines.
Nicely cared for. Friendly
Train tracks beside road on other side
Great for the desperate one-nighters
A bit pricey. I paid the $150 (after tax) because I had to sleep. I wasn't expecting "luxury" of Best Western in Salmon Arm where ($200 before tax). Almost immediately after booking, I received a phone call checking when am I coming and I was okayed to arrived after closing (9:30 PM). I did appreciate the call. When I arrived, the reception area was the usual small motel sized "lobby" but the unpleasant smell was a bit overwhelming. I was nicely surprised with a fresh smelling room but there were some things that were disappointing. The giant printed out instructions (wash dishes or $25, put shoes here, etc.) could be attributed to the clientele experience, I suppose, but it is unsightly the way it is presented. The kitchenette has mix-n-match dishes from yard sales but the only cooking appliance is an ancient microwave. The fridge made noises all night, resembling distant air raid siren. The fake-leather couch in the main room lost all power to resist my manly bum and succumbed to a near-floor level. I didn't check the TV as I didn't want to wake up the elderly couple next door. Not that I could compete with the train operations across the road. The bathroom was very nice and fully updated with impressively arranged toiletries. Even the towels were new and fluffy. Biggest disappointment were stains on the bed sheet. While they were clearly stains that set during laundering, it made the otherwise comfy bed uninviting.
clean tidy
This is an absolutely clean property. Very impressive. An older building with great updates. We enjoyed our stay.
The location of the motel is quite loud and walls are thin. I would bring ear plugs. Otherwise, very clean and the staff is nice.
It was a quiet, discreet, and very well maintained.
While dated, the hotel is clean and the staff are polite and accommodating.
Easy to find location with quiet room and kitchen facilities. The oddity was the shared sink for the kitchen and bathroom. The beds and pillows could use an uograde. Watch the price difference with what you expect from expedia and what is charged on check-in. It was only a few dollars, but not taken into account when mentioned.
Staff were friendly and check-in was a breeze. Rooms were spacious and clean with kitchenette facilities (microwave, coffee pot only, no hot plate/cooktop).
I stayed their during the fires. Chase was under evac notice. I wanted to carry on to Vancouver to ensure that I wouldn't be an extra burden to the community. I asked for a refund for one night. They would not give that to me. What a sad display of no empathy and compassion. I'll never stay their again.
I did not like that our room and beds were not made for our second night
Nice motel, terrible service.
There was a loud group of young men in two rooms. When I spoke to the owner about it, they essentially told me it was my responsibility and that they couldn't and wouldn't do anything about it. For the price and customer service, absolutely not worth it.
Okay motel with very nice people running it. Pretty sure there were mouse turds behind the bathroom door, though. Also thought it strange that there were very explicit instructions to not put towels on the floor.
Owners were wonderful, room was spotless. Will stay again.
The AC unit was loud, couldn't run during the night. The place is located right by the train track and the trains go all night.
Very friendly owners. Very clean room.
Decent little stop while travelling
Nice family owned business - was clean and up to date.
Very clean
Mostly great ! Needs some room to reception contac
The room was wonderful . The lady that checked me in was great as well. But I couldn’t get the TV to work and I tried to call the front desk over and over again with no answer. It wasn’t late yet so I tried to read but the tiny little night stand light kept going out so I had to use my phone light. It also has no light over the sink. The yard area was really wonderful . It’s a great place to stop on a long trip . Just really need somebody to answer the calls from the room
Could use updating, flat and old pillows. Very noisy, train tracks across the road. Overpriced.
Car broke down. The Overland was a welcome port in what was beginning to shape up as a pretty good storm. Great people, clean tidy room (smelled nice), older place but super convenient parking. Wish they had a restaurant, but easy walk to A&W.
Train tracks are very close to this motel. Front office hours are limited. For check out we just left keys in the mailbox. I was worrried another person would take our key and enter our room. We checked out 3 hours before staff started work. There was a big spider in my towel when I was having my shower! I realize that can happen anywhere but next time I will drive a bit further and stay in Kamloops.
Very clean.
Nice renovated older motel. Very close to the CPR mainline so very noisy when the engines pass by but the activity seems to have dropped off later in the evening. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good location if you are traveling through. Nice that it had a small kitchen. Price was very reasonable. Would stay again.
Good position for our journey, easy to walk for dining options. Very clean, soft fluffy towels, but just a bit tired and needs updating.
Lady which checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds ( pillows ) were very comfortable. Very good value.
the lights in the room were pathetic no sink in bathroom
Our stay was comfortable, clean and as expected.
It was a good distance away from the city of Kamloops so was very quiet and safe. Very ma and pa feel, very friendly and overall was a nice stay. The only thing we didn't like was no dining. After driving up and down the main street, we ended up at A & W. Would of loved a nice chinese food restaurant or ? I suggest you shop early and make dinner in the room or go to dinner early.
As them to turn
When we arrived there was no heat on in the room. I suppose it’s a strategy to reduce operating costs however it took a very long time for the room to get up to a comfortab
All good
I appreciate the convenience of this property whenever I need to be in Chase. The staff are always welcoming and friendly.
The motel is located along the highway 1, easy to access. Very clean and well maintained. To our surprise, there is a small kitchen with in motel room, very convenient.
Friendly staff. Nice walk to the arena.
It’s an older motel but very clean and comfortable
Good! Staff wonderful!
Excellent as it has always been
Nothing is perfect... but the Overlander Motel is pretty close... And the train is right there... So you shut the door and turn on the air conditioner... 'nuff said... Next time I need to ask how to use the TV properly... I was too busy falling asleep in the comfortable bed...
Clean, comfortable bed, quiet
Waited 2 hours to check in because nobody there at 6 pm Room was stale and smelt bad. Should have known I guess when it was only room available for over 100 miles . Then was charged extra for a so called stain on a pillow case that I’m sure was there long before we ever arrived. Will never stay there again
Like the parking
We arrived early and rooms were still being cleaned. Was pleased when they contacted us that our room was ready. Friendly office person. Old property but was clean and quiet. All we needed for one night a combination.
Immediately adjacent to very busy freight rail lines with goods trains passing approximately every 30 minutes, this property is also within a few hundred meters of a busy highway. Furthermore, the street in front of the motel is currently (Aug 2022) under repair for potholes. The room was adequately cleaned, but the mattress and other furnishings were very old, missmatched and uncomfortable. Even the pillows were horrible. The sheets were decent and the hotwater pressure excellent. This motel is a clean place to get a shower and a nap when you're too tired to keep driving, but I cannot recommended it for a vacation.
The property is older and dated; however, the room was clean and very comfortable. It was close to shopping, golf and restaurants. It was fine for the time we spent there!!
We booked last minute for a night stop on the way to Calgary. It was inexpensive. We were pleasantly surprised by the motel. It is easy to find, just off the #1. so quiet. We were greeted by a friendly reception. Room was clean and cool (A/C was great). Had fridge and microwave so we had brought microwave ready supper. worked out perfect. Went for a walk in Memorial park. Nice park with long dock on the lake. Would have been 5 star except they allow smoking at the units front doors. It did not effect us inside but we are strongly anti-smoking.
chose this motel because reviews said it was clean. Our room was not. Unfortunately, sheets were stained, there were 2 pop bottles and used Kleenex under the bed, and no hook to hang your hand towel by the sink. The room smelled like smoke covered up with bad perfume. Rooms are supposed to be non smoking but each room has a table, chairs, and ashtrays right outside the front door.
For a small motel they have clean rooms.
Would stay again.
No late check-in, yet... I stayed in contact with motel as flight was delayed and Coq still being repaired from 2021 flooding. Didn't arrive until 23:10, owners were ready to greet me with a smile. Rooms clean and spacious. Parking allocated to room. Had a problem with WiFi that was fixed immediately. Niki was always available for extra coffee,Tea etc. Better than many motels in Canada I've stayed in over the years.
The room was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Comfy
It was exactly as described on the website.
Good location to have a quick exploration of Chase. Motel clean, easily accesible from the highway, all available amenities required for a budget stay with nice outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine and breeze. Pleasant owner manager.
Absolutely spotless! Comfortable bed! Manager kind and helpful. Care about those who stay and want them to have the best experience. Would definitely stay there again.
Easy access
very clean
The rooms are very clean, and the owners are friendly. I would stay here again.
A pleasant overnight stop.
An older motel with clean rooms.
was quiet and owner was friendly and helpful
Was clean and well kept. Old 70s style. Like going back in time.
